Bypass the lock screen - Huawei P Smart+ 2019 Real Life Review

Hi all - I imagine this has been asked a thousand times before, but I am new here and in need of some real help.
My brother recently passed away, and his phone (Huwei P Smart 2019) mysteriously went into Airplane Mode, and has no sim card. The lock screen is on and none of the 'usual' numbers or patterns he used appear to work. This phone was his lifeline before he died, using it to speak to doctors and care workers - which is why I do not think he set it to airplane mode himself.
Shortly after he died a 'friend' went to his house to 'secure valuable belongings' and he had my blessing to do so. When I managed to get there, and secure those belongings myself, lo and behold the phone was locked.
Apparently, it does this when it powers up after the battery drains. Apparently, (according to the 'friend') on a reboot it shows a lock screen... and somehow goes into airplane mode. All I know is his two other older android phones do not have passcodes and all are open and accessible after a reboot - I've already been able to check these for data easily enough. I cannot even see what version of the OS is installed, but I'd guess it is the default that the phone came with.
I am not an Android user, and am certainly not a 'power' user of any device, so I don't know if what the 'friend' is telling me is total BS or not. What I do know is there is likely to be some essential information stored on that phone, let alone photos and memories that his family would like - I am specifically looking for any details of his medical treatments and messages he might have received just before he died.
I've trawled around countless 'phone repair' booths in countless malls, and everyone tells me the same thing - it can be opened, but you have to wipe the phone. Obviously, I don't think that'll help as a) I don't want to reuse the phone and b) I need the data from it to help with an ongoing case.
So, the question is, can it be done... and if so, how?

Not sure if I believe the story.
Probably with testpoint, with unlocktool, with chimera, with EFT dongle.

I've tried some methods the testpoint methods I tried all erase the data.
All other working methods are on youtube search for huawei frp without data loss and similar search strings, and click on Related videos.
Don't connect the Android to Internet to avoid security update.
Try the method with sim card with PIN however that may need a previous version security.
If there is important data wait some time and check youtube again however there are fake videos on there.
If it's too important probably someone can attack it through some method.
However if you have no good reason to attack this device better move on I do not believe the story with deceased relative and whatever is on the device maybe it's water under the bridge move forward. If not then it is a high cost in your time effort money patience better invested elsewhere.

[q] need serious help quick with data recovery

my s4 lcd cracked on its own, no dropping, no misuse, and i didnt have a chance to back up my files/contacts. I recently switched to android after five years with iphone. With the iphone i could simply plug into my pc and transfer files to itunes with no real knowledge. I figured in this day and age and with the level of tech on the galaxy s4 I could do the same.
my problem is i have 8 years of contacts and a few months of photos, videos, etc. I do not wish to lose. If I had to prioritize, the contacts are definitely paramount as I have them no other place. I know, i know, stupid for assuming recovery would be as simple as plugging into my pc.
My problem lies in that I had a lockcode on my phone, did NOT enable developers options prior to it crashing, and have ZERO experience with "crm flashing, and mounting, etc, etc" and really have no clue what they even are. I can follow instructions and learn pretty quickly, but cant write code or anything like that if that is what is required.
Can anyone provide me with any help or suggestions? I am even willing to take it somewhere to have it recovered if thats an option. I really am desperate for help here and would appreciate anything. Thanks. YOu can message me here or email at [email protected].

BTw, i downloaded an app called drfone which came up in a google search under "recover dead/broken s4 data:". Well, i dont know who actually took the time to write that post out but it has detailed instructions on how to recover the data from a dead or broken phone, but contradicts itself at every turn since you need access to the touchscreen on the phone itself. That poster must of left their logic button unchecked that day.

Do you have samsung kies installed on your pc?? Also can your phone be switched on? I mean does it power up?? If so I think you can backup your contacts n stuff....get kies on your pc

[Q] Breaking into a locked device

Hello all,
This is a strange request but desperate times call for desperate measures. My father recently got himself a new Samsung Galaxy S5 here in Australia, unfortunately a tragic motorcycle accident on the 1st of this month led to my father no longer being with us. This was heartbreaking for my family and I, I now have in my possession his phone, It is still operational from what I can gather, it still rings, still vibrates when hooking up to my laptop and it detects it. The screen is completely smashed and doesn't work and the phone is locked. I want to be able to access the phone to recover any photos etc he has on the phone itself, I am unaware of what type of screenlock is on it.
So far I tried Samsung Kies but due to the phone being locked I can't use that,. Nothing shows up on the phone in windows explorer. I've downloaded [email protected] and android studio and have tried to get that to show up so I can see whats on the screen and attempt to use android control to unlock the phone but so far I've had no such luck. I need usb debugging enabled but I'm going to have to assume its disabled and thus proving my attempts so far to be fruitless.
If anyone can give me any ideas or things to try I'm all ears, I'm ok with computers so should be able to figure out most things but this is my first exposure to these types of applications.

First of all, I'm really sorry for your loss..
If he had a microSD card in his phone, it's likely that his pictures (and other documents) are on the card.
If that's the case, unless he encrypted the content, you should be able to just remove the microSD card and read it on your computer with a card reader.
Eric, do you have a MHL adaptor & HDMI tv?
You can view the screen on this via tv.
If I understand well he is able to see the screen but cannot pass the security lock. If that's the case try to connect the phone to your PC and copy all the internal SD card, I think you will be able to access the content. Also not sure if a factory reset will deactivate the screen lock but you can try it in an ultimate attempt.

It depends on the type of security lock.
If it's swipe, then he can see the content by connecting the phone to the PC, but not if it's a password, fingerprint, pin, ...
He would have to unlock the screen before the files are available.
Sorry to hear of your loss, especially at this time of year.
The idea of copying the SD card is the first step. If I read you're message right you can't see the screen at all?? I would take the device to a repair shop and get the screen replaced - tell them very clearly NOT to wipe / reset the device. Then you should be able to see the screen and might be able to figure out the screen lock. If the fingerprint reader was used there will always be an alternative password, you might be able to reset this to the gmail account used on the phone (assuming you have access to this?).

I copied all of the sd card and as it was copying it died, so I have most of the data off that.

Cannot see the screen, and when I connect it to pc to check if there is anything on the phone itself, It won't let me as the phone is keypad/swipe/fingerprint locked.

I took it to a repair shop, its a catch 22 situation, They want $150 to pull the data off the phone, and if there is no data of use then thats a waste of money, They wants $240 to replace the screen, the phone has a very slight bend in it so if I replace the screen the phone still may not be able to be used properly so again would be a waste of money.
This is the main reason why I am trying to at least view the screen to ascertain what lock is used, I do have his gmail credentials so I can reset from there, from what I understand resetting the phone also loses any data (messages, pictures, etc) that is on the actual phone.
Last but not least thank you to everyone so far for your replies, I really appreciate you all taking the time to reply and try to help!

No worries.
Do you know if he was using Cerberus or Theftspy or another anti theft tool?
If he did and you can find out his credentials, you should also be able to unlock the phone with a command (at least Cerberus does that) or even transfer all the data to a cloud (dropbox, google drive,...).
Could he not physically open the phone and get to the actual sd card that the phone comes with that the OS and all that is on? Or is that locked down?

I had a idea for the lock screen but it will not help with seeing which you would have to deal with first. Any chance he left Gmail loged on any computer you have access to. You could try installing a app to bypass the lock screen.
I have never tried this one it was just the first I found that fit my theory of a workaround, although you could look around for a free one that may be better then you wouldn't have to worry about passwords to do the purchase.

If you know his samsung account information, you can login to their web service and remove the lockscreen passcode. From there, you should be able to USB the files off of it.

My experience with tech support so far...

I really just need to vent about this...
I initially emailed on 05/09/2015, I've made it nowhere in the RMA process other than verbally assaulting their tech support (I only sort of feel bad). I've been moved around to five different people. The first three told me the exact same thing. The fourth did what the third said they would, and the fifth is what the fourth said they would be.

Fast forward through my work shift. I get home and download the files anyway and extract them. there is a .bat file in there with a bunch of commands flashing partition files using fastboot. open up a terminal and I start copying and pasting the lines so I don't make any mistakes. Get to the one about flashing the userdata partition, and the script as a typo. the file has a capital G and the script is showing a lower case g. Those are 500MB "patches" just FYI. Then another message saying that the typo was also in the other patch zip. Yeah, that's right. both zips had the same typo'd batch script. It's funny they treat us like we know nothing. 05/24/2015 Cherie asks if my device was ever dropped, bumped(???), or exposed to liquids. Also goes on to explain that the CPU and Camera are close together and that the camera material transmits heat quickly so the device can feel warm there. Then suggests I close apps running in the background. Also then recommends that I recondition the battery by fully charging and discharging it three times. And also says not to use the phone while it's charging because it needs to rest. She then wanted me to install a multitouch testing app to screencast, and also requests pictures.

I'm just going to quote myself here, "What causes overheating of the display? And my typing is not the problem. HTC MyTouch 4G, Samsung Galaxy S3, LG Nexus 4. Those three devices could keep up with me. Ah, those were the days. Such fond memories of accurate touch screens.S o the CPU is close to the other components in the phone? That's amazing! How do you do it in such a small package? Crazyness. Though, my Nexus 4 is even smaller, must be magic to be able to fit the cpu and camera in there together. Material of the camera transmits heat... Well, most things are conducive of heat. I close background apps frequently enough. I keep the screen brightness close to 50%. The phone needs a rest while charging? Why is that? Did it get fatigued? Is it tired? Did it have a long day? I've never had an electronic device that "needs to rest". Sounds like YOU NEEDed to improve the cooling capabilities of the device. My battery usage is also not abnormal, nor under heavy load does the battery get hot. I get 7 hours of screen on time. That's absolutely amazing! Now if only I could use it for those 7 hours I'm able to turn the display on. Common problem with Li-Po batteries that are old. Are you saying I have an old battery in my device that needs to be reconditioned? I better not since I've only just bought the phone a month ago. Pull the notification drop down menu down, press the back button, and restart the device... What? How's that any different than just rebooting it? The last step of this RMA process pretty much sealed the deal that yall are idiots, and this is just kind of the icing."

05/26/2015 Llores sends me an email about setting up a remote session with Level 2 support. Requests that I download a few files and to set up an appointment. For Windows there were five zips linked. One for OxygenOS(I'm presuming) "oxygen-dlt.rar" 784MB. One for CyanogenMod(again, presuming) "DLT-CM.rar" 512MB. a Certificates rar that I did not download, as these are probably Windows driver things. The Android SDK which I did not need. CM11S from cyngn website 510MB. And an archive titled AFX. Which has two files in it, a persist.img and a reserv4.img... a measly 10KB.

No one needs to remote access my computer because I've already proven I'm smarter than you. I do not trust any of you to access my personal computer. It is unnecessary. My device has an intermittent hardware issue that needs to be resolved with a different device that has been factory reconditioned or refurbished. And there we are so far. This kind of service is absolutely unacceptable. It doesn't matter how much the phone was. Someone on the OPO forums said they paid for the phone, not tech support and warranties.
Also, the DLT files are password protected, which I'm sure the L2 support lackey knows the passwords, I'm trying to break in to it using rarcrack, but.... bruteforcing something is relatively slow.
05/27/2015 Cherie emails me again and from the sounds of it, she had no recollection of our previous conversation. She says that Level 2 tech support needs to remotely access my computer.
05/27/2015 I tell Cherie that I've already mentioned I will not be allowing anyone from their company to remotely access my computer. Request one of their computers be sent to me for them to remotely access and flash my phone. Then go on to say that they probably won't do that because you don't trust me with your data as much as I don't trust them with mine. Tell them I will be going through with a paypal dispute.

Many felt the same reaction too. In the long run, numerous Oneplus owners found out that patch fix resolved their touchscreen issues as it may install those missing "TPK firmware" on the phone."

I am really sad though, I love the phone and I wish it would work properly.
they are only thiefs, no other adjective describe them.
They put a fail cheap ****ty display on this device, and after a random time (depend from many enviroments, temperature, isolating, what you eat... ) it appears the non responsive/ghost touch issue.
They don't want repair or change, and if you have only a micro dent on the frame... goodbye
the incredible, it's that they have prepared some zips with naming "fix touch" etc... they are ridiculous... This phone have a target of 90% middle/high geek, so, they don't want this bull**** no resolutive sw, but they want try and flash whatever they want, when they want, and they want that almost the device have a display working !!!
They stop say try what rom you prefer, your warranty will remain..... YES, RIGHT, because we haven't any WARRANTY on display !!!
This is exactly why I buy used, broken devices for dirt cheap and repair them myself. I got my 64gb 1+ off eBay for $115 after repairing it's screen.

I have similar experience and I too reach the point that tell them "NO way I gave you remote control"
They sad again, that second level technical will decide if my phone is for RMA.
I think with my refuses to gave them access they will close my case. I think it is not legal but.....
I just want to send phone and they fix or gave new one and I sale fast.

It's been... 6 or 7 weeks now since I first submitted ticket. Somehow I managed to skip the remote session, went from asking me to book session, to setting up the phone getting picked up.
But...
A week after they said they received it, they come back saying water damage, apparently the the LDI in headphone jack was tripped and want me to pay for repair. I basically argued back, told them it had never been anywhere near and liquids.
Lo and behold, they come back saying they've made a mistake. On re checking, there is no water damage, and so now will replace my phone. Imagine I'd caved and paid for repair, or just had them send it back...
... Finding it hard to believe they made a genuine mistake...

You're not the only one I've read about having them try to claim that the liquid sticker was tripped, and then back track when they're called out on it.
Sounds much alike the issues I have with OnePlus support right now. My 2 has what I strongly suspect hardware issues. I can say that I'm pretty sure, that is after worked for a Swedish/Japanese mobile manufacturer for almost 16 years. So I know a bit about mobile phones . I think in the end the wankers will not give me another phone. Their tactics is to f**ck you around until you give up. It's a shame actually, I love their products but the company is rotten to the core how they conduct themselves. I think I'll write an email to Carl Pei in Swedish and tell him my two cents about this matter. I don't except it to do any good but perhaps I'll catch him of guard. If anybody is interested I'll let you know how that wen't down.

Major Security Break

There is a bypass that can disable all kind of tracking if someone steals your phone.
It's the quick settings avaliability in lock screen mode, even when you have the any kind of protection turned on(PIN, Fingerprint, etc.). Try it yourself... Imagine yourself as a thief who stole the phone... You know someone can track you so you just like open quick settings and turn off all kind of data or just simply turn on airplane mode... There's not a single chance for the owner to track the device anymore.
It is not just on ZUK Z1, it's the whole Lolipop series.
My question is:
1. Is Marshmallow going to fix this problem?
2. Is there any way of contacting directly the people who work in Cyanogen on this phone, who can make option that can disable status bar pull down while the screen is locked.
(I know there might be some modding options that can do that, but I just got the phone and I'm not yet into rooting it and voiding warranty, and also it shouldn't even matter. You don't have to mod anything in order to get basic security over your phone.
And I also know there are more ways to break into phone, but this one is just too simple & fast)
Enogh panic! Just go to notification drawer settings and find out everything you need.
P.S. Thogh there is still an issue when mobile data can be disabled...
lol...if you phone is stolen two things happen first, sim card is removed and phone is power off...... then any sensible thief will then go in recovery mode and wipe it .....
phone disappears forever....
until there is a way to protect recovery mode via some password ,your phone can always be stolen without a trace...

You don't say? Not that I explained in the post that there are numerous ways of breaking in besides that. But to stop stupid people from easily stealing phone is neccessary to remove option of simply turning off data, location or any other connection source. Stop being cpt. Obivious and please answer the problem question if possible. Otherwise please don't point me things I already explained in the post. Thank you.

S7 Edge Stolen

Hello guys, yesterday my S7 edge was stolen and I was able to track the device till one location, but couldn't find the device or the robber once I got there. I had the SM-G935F international variant (Exynos) - stock and first question I would like to ask is: Is it possible to turn off the device from the lock screen without the pincode/fingerprint? Because I think it was not possible when I had it.
I'm just asking because once I have reached the location the google maps timeline, stopped recording the movement of my device.. and have stopped since there..
Around 3 hours later my girlfriend (I put her contact as security), received a message on her device saying the SIM card had been changed. I had the device with 4G (wifi I'm not sure) and the lock screen was secured. I tried using Samsung find my mobile and was even more useless than google maps timeline, because It couldn't locate the device even when google maps could.
I went to the police and they say that, they could locate (but It's going to take a while) the sim card that was put on that IMEI.
Do you guys know another way that could help me know some information sooner? At least something I could help the police with..
Hope you can help me in some way.
I'm in Czech Republic btw.

damn man, I'm so sorry for u, f*cking crappy ppl...
the easiest way to track ur phone is to detect via SIM/IMEI, for that u have to know that new code that was inserted (not easy for us, but police should have), all other services (google, samsung,whatever) works just when de phone is on and have a network connection/GPS active (that cannot be turned off with the phone locked), sad is, the phone can be turned off w/o problem at any moment. Last updates with google apps, doesn't let u use your phone even giving a factory reset because u need to put the last google credentials used in that phone (but I don't know if u have to activate that in some settings, in my older phone it was on by default)....
sad is no much to do here, hope police in your country is more competent that mine's
I also advise going the police route.
File an official complaint and ask for a file number so you know it's official and the investigation will be active.
Keep us posted on how things go.
I've already talked with the police, gonna know if they can find them by the EMEI..
Wish tracking devices were made much more simple..
Brother's stolen phone (iD*ot 6S) was found by czech police within two days (in Prg), so finger's crossed for you! If you are from Prague I could ask him which office he went to.
Not sure there is anything you can do at this point, but I will recommend an app that I use called Where's My Droid. You can get the paid version (I would highly recommend paying the small one time fee for this) and it does quite a lot. You can track it online from a computer, and even through text messages. You can use text message commands to take pictures from the front and rear cameras, get GPS location, lock the sim and prevent others from being used, and even change your pin through text. You set up the keywords needed so that others cannot send out a generic code to lock you out of your own device. I would highly recommend that app for your next phone. It may not prevent a theft, but at least you could get a picture of the criminal and provide that to the police as well.

wow. Wish I wouldn't have took a lot of measures in order to save battery and making the tracking of my device harder.. never again.. :crying:
Yeah, it's unfortunate, especially for a new phone that's not cheap.
One workaround I did when I broke my phone screen out of anger right after I upgraded was open a new line on my account so I only had to pay the upgrade price for the phone again. Not sure if you have that option for your carrier or even country for that matter. But hopefully the police can help you out greatly.
