Hydra-Tool crashing at start up - Windows 10, 8, 7, XP etc.

So, I'm trying to run "Hydra Tool 2023" on windows 10.
After start, app starts and immediately crashes.
I downloaded three different copies of setup.exe from different sources, always same result.
I run as administrator, tried different compatibility modes.
Antivirus & firewall are turned off.
Visual C++ redistribute is installed.
Can you suggest some possible solution?

How do I enable .Net Framework 3.5? I downloaded it unto my computer and through activesync it was downloaded unto my phone, however it seems as if my phone isn't using the 3.5. How do I make it so that my phone uses the 3.5 instead of the older one? I can't seem to find the option for it!

Try uninstalling it from your phone and download the file over this link
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en
then run the downloaded file on your pc while your phone is just turned on and connected to your pc over the activesync. Then after the file's installed on your pc it'll warn you to check your phone screen about the installiation screen should appear on your phone and thats all.
Works fine for me.
make sure when you run it from your PC, when you get the screen showing which parts are to install and which parts not to install - you drill down into those options and make sure you check the DEPLOY option.
i believe the DEPLOY option is what installs it on your device that is in activesync

[Q] Epic USB drivers for win7 32bit HELP

Hello all I'ave been trying to root my epic 4g for the last couple of days now without any success. I narrowed the problem down to not getting the USB drivers install. I am running windows7 32bit and have downloaded the same drivers from links on this site and also from samsung's site directly. The file that I downloaded comes as a "windows installer package type" after its unzipped so it installs automatically upon opening.
After the attempt install I get the following message:
Device driver software was not successfully installed
Coprocessor X No driver found
Base System Device X No driver found
Base System Device X No driver found
Can someone please help on this issue. I have searched the forums without any success and I refuse to believe that I'm the only one with this problem..
reinstall the .exe file, but right click and run as administrator. when you plug your phone in, uninstall the drivers through the device manager to make it "search" for updated drivers. worse comes to worse, instead of "automatically search for drivers" in the device manager, manually choose where the drivers are and navigate to the program (usually samsung something or another) and tell it to search.
make sure you have any other samsung driver or program uninstalled. some people have been having trouble with this.
This is the problem because this file is a windows installer package type after unzipping if I right click on the program my only option is to install, repair or uninstall. I'm not getting an option to run as administrator or am I even getting to see any files much less an EXE file.
Is there any way I can change the file type from the Windows Installer Package (.msi)?? And what should I change it to so it would act a little more friendly.
I would install pda net which is bundled with the app, plus you get a decent tethering app.

Thanks alot. Now I can get some sleep.
You guys are great...
Goodnight.
I personally would like to know of any foolproof way of installing drivers on windows 7... I scripted an all in one root and recovery program, and by far the biggest issue is failed drivers in windows 7... I've been avoiding installing window 7 on my bootcamp partition, but I may have to just so I can experience the same hell as everyone else.
Even if Odin3 is Windows only, at least drivers aren't an issue on my Mac.

You can install regular drivers by holding F8 at windows boot and disabling "driver signature" and then installing the drivers.
You can also permenantly dissable "driver signature" just google it,i forgot how to do it,its in gpedit.msc somewhere,i think.

Thanks for the response, I'll look into it...
Does that mean to install 32 bit drivers even on 64 bit windows?
Just trying to clarify...
Once I find a solution that works reliably, I want to put it in my original posts so that others can benefit from it.

not to beat a dead horse or anything....but .msi's shouldnt need to be unzipped, they should be executable that will bring up windows installer...maybe im missing something but glad you got it worked out!

[Prerequisite to Rooting] Android SDK Installer - v3.0 for Windows

**Microsoft Windows ONLY*
This installer is for new people looking to root their HTC Thunderbolt (not sure on other HTC devices but should work.) I compiled an SDK installer that installs all the necessary files to the directory of your choice (default C:\sdk) to your PC. This installer also includes HTC Sync for the Drivers as well as Java if you do not already have Java installed.
So if you're new to Android and want the tools to root, this might be the place to start before making that big step.
**If you have problems with it installing, try right clicking and running as administrator
Android SDK Installer with HTC Sync and Java v3.0 - 117 MB
*This is a pretty good size file but remember it also includes HTC Sync and Java within the installer.
*You cannot download Java and HTC Sync at the same time, so be patient.
*If you do not want to install HTC Sync but want the driver allow it to install them and then cancel out when asking to install HTC Sync.
*If you already have Java you can cancel out of the Java Installer.
**Download might take longer depending on your Internet Connection.
Please let me know what you think below.
Thanks!
Changelog:
v3.0 - Maintenance Update
v2.0 - Fixed Directory Issues
v1.0 - Initial Release

The only difference in the tutorials is the path.
The path for adb with this installer will be: C:\sdk\platform-tools
*Big thanks to CoolSilver for helping me test this out
Looks good! But where's the link?
Sorry, was still uploading it. Its updated now.
Tried it out, works fine. ADB setup and working.
Such a good idea. Trying to talk someone through installation of sdk is kind of maddening. Do we still have to add the path?

No, it auto installs to C:\sdk
C:\sdk\platform-tools\
This will help a lot of those I see struggling with root not knowing anything about sdk/adb. Great post. Perhaps linking a guide to adb will help people as well?

I can guarantee and you have my word that the applicaton installer is clean. Norton AV also has many false positives.

Hmm, strange. What version of Windows are you running?
Also, check to see whether you already have java installed. If you do then java is not necessary to complete the installation successfully.

Glad you were able to get it to work!
Thanks for this!!! My plan is to slowly get to root. I want to try to push a few apps first.
This works really well. Made setting up adb and rooting the thunderbolt so easy.
Thanks I used this to help root my phone.
Only issue I notice is that when I click sdk manager.exe the console comes up shortly and dissappears after about 2 seconds. How do I fix this? Is it because your program only installs the non-jdk version of Java possibly?
Any tips would be appeciated

How To Install PhoneGap Build .xap On Developer Unlocked Phone

Hello...
I just set up a Windows Phone developer account and registered my phone (HTC 8x) as a developer unlocked phone.
I have build an app with PhoneGap build and I can download the .xap, but I have yet to figure out how to install it.
Using a QR Reader asks if I want to search the store for something to open the file.
I've seen tutorials on how to build a PhoneGap app within Visual Studio.
I haven't seen any means of installing it from PhoneGap Build, though.
Any ideas?
JJ
The SDK installs a tool called Application Deployment on your PC. Run that, connect your phone via USB, and use it to sideload the XAP.
Man, it would be great if you could install them directly from the PhoneGap site (like iOS and Android - I haven't tested Blackberry).
Having to do it from a computer that has, at least, a Core i5 CPU and Visual Studio is kind of jacked.
Also, I can only have 3 developer devices on my account.
Apple allows 99, I think.
Of course, Android doesn't even require to to register a device (just turn on the "install unapproved apps" feature.

You do not need SLAT (i5 CPU) to side load things.
That is for emulators only.
There is homebrew to do that on WP7. We'll just have to figure out a way on WP8. It's not very hard, once we can get the needed permissions.

Well, that's handy to know.
It would still be nice to not require Windows 8 and Visual Studio just to install an app.
JJ
And don't need to be a W8, you can install xap's on Windows 7.

Has anyone been able to do this on Windows 7 x64 machine ? I am sure I am just missing something...
I downloaded "Windows Phone Power Tools" after installing .NET 4.5 but, it just gives me an error of "Unable to install or run the applications. The application requires that assembly Microsoft.SmartDevice.Connectivity version 11.0.0.0 be installed in the Global Accembly Cashe (GAC) first." when I attempt to run it..
As most of us know, SDK 8.0 REQUIRES Windows 8, I would love to be able to install XAPs on Windows 7 so I don't have to reboot my PC to use my Windows 8 partition just to install a quick XAP time to time. I can't download or find where to download the full install to extract a few fles as said in the directions...
Any idea to get this installed ?
I didn't get it working with my Windows 7 workstation.
I have a Windows 8.1 laptop, so I just use it.
Being able to do it at work would be nice, though.
JJ

Or use VMware and create a virtual machine with the above requirements.
@DavidinCT @Fa310tx
You can install the WP8 SDK on Windows 7...it works just fine. The secret that Microsoft doesn't want you to know is that the WP8 SDK can be installed on Server 2008 R2...Server 2008 R2 is based on Windows 7 x64. Therefore, it will work with no issues.

Unable to install Dex for Windows

(to note: latest public win10 build, all avaliable updates installed, s10+ exynos on newest build)
Downloaded latest DEX version from samsung site but the installer does not run. This is what I have tried so far to resolve by myself:
removed phone from Your Phone windows app
deactivated link to phone on microsoft account.
removed link to windows pc on phone.
downloaded latest usb drivers from samsung site
uninstalled old driver, rebooted, installed new drivers
Downloaded latest DEX version from samsung site
attempted to launch dex installer - nothing happens and cant see a process for it in task manager.
uninstalled all versions of .net framework
rebooted
reinstalled .net frameworks
rebooted (again lmao)
attempted to launch dex installer - nothing happens and cant see a process for it in task manager.
have tried to launch installer after added as an exception to my AV, disabled AV and tried again, run as administrator, force run as administrator from properties menu, tried in compatability mode for older versions.
installed older version of dex for windows, it prompted me to update to latest version, i clicked yes downloaded install files, then appeared to try launch it but window disappeared instantly.
nothing i do lets me open the installer. please help!

I did see this message when you replied, It was 2am hence the lack of immediate reply.
I did check the Event logs.... then got into a 3 hour fight with .net frameworks and Visual C++ redistributables
The ****ing PC won. Uninstalled and reinstalled .net and the vc++ stuff and tried some other random fixes I saw on various forums but nothing worked so I ended up just flattening my hard drive and starting from scratch.
I think I can trace it back to when I originally installed Windows last year and was using Powershell to disable various "features" and telemetry stuff. I've had ongoing issues with UWP apps and other random software since then and I think it's all related. None of it was a big deal though so I just ignored it.
Luckily it only took about 70 mins to install and configure the OS and all my important applications.
Really wanted to get Dex running and I am happy that it now works, loads better than the Your Phone application imo.
Apologies to anyone who finds this thread in the future hoping that I found an actual fix
