Hello there,
I would like to flash a LeaOS - Lineage 18.1 on my P8 lite 2017 (the ROM by @AltairFR) because honestly it looks amazing.
I have a device fully unlocked and ready to be flashed through fastboot.exe
But some part are unclear to me, like the stock rom version that HAS to be installed before the flash.
I’d like to stick to 8.0.0.412(C432)_Firmware_EMUI8.0_05014FSP but honestly the DLOAD method (putting UPDATE.APP on a sdcard then lowlevel restore) has not worked for me and put me
on a weird emui 8 8.0.0.046 version when i use it with genuine Prague firmware and i feel tutorials about this phone are now obsolete to be relevant
With that in mind, i am reluctant to follow the @AltairFR tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ineage-18-1-for-huawei-device-emui-8.4371629/
I fear the phone is going to loop endlessly once newly flashed with LINEAGEOS LeaOS-20230112-iceows-pra.7z
Could you please give me more ideas to prepare my flash worryless ?
I am running PRA-LX1 8.0.0.366(C530) I restored via Huawei eRecovery (cf pictures)
Could you give me more steps (like updating to C432 firmly) please ?
Thank you.

Sorry guys,
Another rollback thread.
I have my P9 lite. I installed twrp recovery + nougat rom.
I have to rollback for some reasons.
I followed :
x to flash android 6.0 europe rom https://boycracked.com/2016/09/14/official-huawei-p9-lite-vns-l31-stock-rom/ the update works but phone is still looping reboot/logo
x a thread of Huawei website here http://consumer.huawei.com/be-fr/support/products/downloads/p9lite-befr.htm, you have to flash an intermediate package (UPDATE.APP) by visiting the official EMUI website
(i founded it with Beni2567 thread on xda) https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/help/rollback-nougat-7-0-to-mm-6-0-t3555493
Update is stuck at 5% then after few minutes, the phone reboots., then said my device has been unlock, then huawei logo, then reboot again...
I never succeed to go back with a functional android system :s
Man, why not read arround before making stupid mistakes?
First thing to do was to flash Oeminfo!
That because once you are in Nougat, your phone Oeminfo is modified in a way that is not recognized by lower firmware...
That step is included in tutorials arround...
1. flash TWRP (thanks to @BadWolfYe )
2. Flash this file (OEMINFO!)
3. Put the MM UPDATE.APP in the DLOAD folder on EXTERNAL SDCARD
4. Install it using the 3 button method (dload method)
5. Factory reset
6. DONE!!
Now you have a nice bricked phone!
Plzzz help im stuck I want to rollback my huawei p9 lite VNS-L31 where its build number is NRD90M(test keys) to marshmallow 6.0 help don't know what to do . Plz if you can explain step by step what can i do because i'm not good in these things , My bluetooth not workng , there no calculator , no software updater , i am not able to check if got update or not and so on......, im stuck plz help
Well hey.. first download this rollback package from this link:
http://download-c1.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=93645&version=371484&siteCode=np
Extract and move all the files to dload folder on your external SD Card then install it with the 3 button method. If there's no dload folder then create one.
So the phone will reboot and now you can downgrade to any mm rom
Now just download this mm rom from this link:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1164/g104/v66015/f1/full/update.zip
And again extract and move the files to dload folder on your sd card.. Install with 3 button method.
Done! Everything should work now!
In case If you don't know what the 3 button method is..lol
•Power the phone off ?
•Just press and hold on POWER + VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN buttons
The phone will start installing the rom and that's the 3 button method ?❤
this is not working for me. it says incompatibility with current version and to download the correct version.

Man, you have to do entire procedure: unlock bootloader, install twrp for Nougat and flash oeminfo for your phone. Before that you have to put in dload folder MM firmware (B130/B131),
because after flashing oeminfo phone try to repair firmware from dload folder. If repair do not start, power off phone and power on with 3 keys combination.
Hi All,
I'm having a similar issue as lennie27 however I think I might have strayed down an incorrect path during the process of upgrading to Nougat. My device shipped with VNS-L31C16B120 with no updates available through the stock updater. I tried the Firmware Finder guides which listed options for VNS-L31C169B13x and VNS-L31C432B13x however none of these updates would work, updater would say it's incompatible with current version. I also tried manually downloading the VNS-L31C432B160 firmware and installing that with the 3 button method as well as the EngineerMenu option with the same result (found guides that stated needing to be on B160 or B161 before making the jump to Nougat). Eventually I decided to unlock the bootloader and install Nougat through TWRP and followed the obeygeekupdate-huawei-p9-lite-to-android-7-0-nougat-manually guide (can't post links ) on manually installing Nougat (stupidly never paying attention to the fact that it's a beta build guide). I've installed TWRP to the device again using the P9 Lite Toolkit v0.0.0.11 found here on XDA (used this when on MM however the upgrade seemed to restore the stock recovery) with the idea of downloading the build from the ministryofsolutions huawei-p9-lite-vns-l31-nougat-b371-update-stable-europe page and pushing that to the device instead (however now the device doesn't want to boot into recovery)
Now my only concern is, will this work? I've noticed a bit of commenting going back and forth on the ministryofsolutions site which essentially boiled down to the need for debranding the phone (apparently C19 is MTN South Africa specific and I need to debrand it and get it onto C432 Europe before mucking about with Nougat, but alas to late) which seemed to be something I should have done while on MM still. If I can find a full firmware link for VNS-L31C16B120 can I flash that through TWRP without needing to follow any prerequisite steps? So far nothing that I've tried to flash using the three button method has worked, I'd just like to get back onto an official stable firmware again.
Any advice will be appreciated

you need to install nougat recovery, not the one from the toolkit. then twrp will work and the device will boot.
to go back to 120 you need to install oeminfo, and then the update.app

Thank you for the reply, managed to come right a few hours after posting. Turned out the copy of TWRP that I had on hand was more outdated than I thought, downloaded the newest copy and that worked on the device. Additionally I managed to find a website listing just about every firmware for the phone (Including my original MTN ZA specific variant) so I downloaded that and managed to restore the phone using the three button method. Phone is back to stock now and even the unlocked bootloader nag screen is gone so I'm guessing the bootloader is locked again as well One day when I'm brave enough to attempt this again I'll look at debranding the phone and getting it onto a C432 based ROM before getting it onto Nougat again.
phone bricked
hello guys! im currently on lineage os 14.1 by meticulus, i wanna revert back to stock mm but i cant. i flashed the custom rom from mm using twrp recovery by meticulus, but now i cant even boot into erecovery! can you pls help me!:crying: DLOAD method doesnt work!

There's a Mate 9 TWRP that *claims* compatibility with our device, but it ****ed mine up and had to send it to Huawei. I'd advise either paying for and using FunkyHauwei, or simply wait until Oreo is out so you can get a proper TWRP or rebrand back to a L29/L09.
If you keep trying to reflash it - it'll probably brick. Some other things changed with the update - for example, flashing recovery is now "fastboot flash recovery-ramdisk". That leads me to believe they made changes to partition names/mapping which current scripts might not reflect. It's dangerous and I wish you had seen my PSA warning against this exact situation . Good luck!
EDIT - Just a thought, but *maybe* if you manually flash each partition using an extracted Nougat firmware? Comparing extracted versions of Nougat and Oreo firmwares might show the partition name differences... I would think at least bootloader, recovery, system, data, maybe radio/modem, kernel, whatever else... I used to salvage bricked 6Ps that way if fastboot was still accessible... Might be worth a shot, but also might brick it.... I'd probably just wait for the official updates TBH.
Hey guys.
I try again (maybe 10 times) with Hisuit (FF). It's really work. I can roll back to nougat. Yesss

Awesome! Which firmware did you use?
Hi,my name is Youssef
I would like to know the latest and most stable TWRP for my phone
Huawei GR3 2017 (Egypt)
PRA-LA1C185
EMUI 5.0
I have tried other TWRPs but they can't backup Data partition and can't install Custom Roms
How about the Honor 6X's TWRP (Huawei GR5 2017) I tried to flash it cause it's official from TeamWin and the two phones have the same chipset (Kirin 655) but it doesn't boot in my phone
So any advice about the latest and most stable TWRP for my case
Or any advice about flashing Honor 6X's TWRP (Huawei GR5 2017) for my phone cause it's official and get it booting
Anyone?

Your welcome but you can also recover your phone by rebranding it like me
If you're thinking of it here's the link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/8-lite/development/share-oeminfo-t3740734
But make sure you have the oem unlock code
And the stock recovery
Steps to do it (Like I did)
1-You must have the latest TWRP
2-Download and flash the PRA-LX1C432 oem info
3-Format partitions (Dalvic-Cache-System-Data-Internal Storage)
4-Restart the phone
5-It'll boot to eRecovery and after that choose Download Latest Frimware and Recovery
Let it download and install then it'll boot and it'll be like new
But do this on your own risk please
I told you the method that worked for me

I have two questions :
1- If i follow your steps will i get FRP lock too ?
2- Does everything work in LX1 ? (camera, calling, Bluetooth)
Because we have GR3 2017, i tried honor 8 lite TWRP backup and i have problems with camera and calling even that GR3 and HONOR have the same firmware (LA1)

1-You won't get FRP lock you can unlock it by enabling
"Enable OEM Unlock" in developer options
2-Yes everything works perfectly
Do my steps carefully please and don't rush in anything while doing it

Okay, thank you for the informations
Our problem is that we need to find someone who has GR3 and ask him for OEMinfo backup
I noticed that GR3 users have these versions of firmware : B162/B176/B186/188
all other versions of LA1 are for honor 8lite
Short question first: is it possible to update an unlocked p10 lite without loosing data?
Flashing this phone is really hell! I have some flashing experience and faced a lot of problems before but this is really nasty!
However, for those still trying, here's what I've learned (the hard way):
Most important: before you do anything, check your current firmware version and model and write it down! Also write down your EMEI E.g. flashing a ...C432... firmware (EU unbranded) over a ...C02... (vodafone branded) will not work! Re-branding / de-branding didn't work for me - I tried different ways but didn't succeed. You can use Huawei Download Tool to get firmwares. Always double check the versions!
Also backup your data! After flashing TWRP, the first thing you should do is backup to an sd-card - especially oeminfo, vendor and cust partitions in case something goes wrong! Copy the backup from the sd to your pc!
Flashing a custom rom like LineageOS seems only to work with unbranded version and after upgrading to latest major stock rom version.
Don't know if unlocking works with EMUI 8 (Android 8 - Oreo), I followed the tutorial and downgraded to EMUI 5 (Android 7 - Nougat) first
To get the unlock code I paid 4€ to get 4 credits in dc-unlocker. I'd say its worth it because it just works and takes not too much time
If you managed to get an unlocked EMUI 5 and want to update to 8, you have to consider a few things:
Partitions are different in both versions. E.g. flashing TWRP via fastboot is fastboot flash recovery ... with EMUI 5 but it's fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk ... with EMUI 8 so pick the right tutorials!
The easyest ways to flash at this point is either flashing by dload method or by HWOTA tool.
For dload method, read the tutorials carefully! If you do it by the dload folder on sd-card, you have to use a service rom! These are special stock roms which are different from the regular (full) rom images.
HWOTA tool also offers dload method updates - here you can use regular (full) roms like those from Huawei Download Tool
The other method in HWOTA tool uses fastboot / adb to flash. Don't know the pros / cons of both methods but either should work
If your phone doesn't boot / loops, make a factory reset / full wipe after flashing!
If your system version is 8.0.0.046 you picked the wrong firmware (see first point "most important"). Download the right one and re-flash
I finally got a (vodafone branded) Oreo running (didn't check if everything works though). I wanted to flash LOS in the first place but it seems branded phones don't work with LOS. Now I'm glad the stock rom is working again so I consider sticking to it but that's where the initial question comes up: can I simply fastboot flash system ... to update and keep all data?
