Hi guys. I need help
I use VKY-L29C636 and want to try Oreo then I reband and updated to Oreo VKY-AL00 8.0.0.310(C00) but I don't like it because it's more china services and some features I can't used
it (such as Volte) after that I tried to Downgrade by FF,dload,HWOTA,HWOTA8 but it's not success.
FF (server temporarily unavailable)
dload (error)
HWOTA (I don't have TWRP for Oreo for p10+)
HWOTA8 (I don't have recovery and TWRP files for p10+)
Please tell me how to Downgrade to nougat firmware or give some any advice to me.
Thanks.

There's a Mate 9 TWRP that *claims* compatibility with our device, but it ****ed mine up and had to send it to Huawei. I'd advise either paying for and using FunkyHauwei, or simply wait until Oreo is out so you can get a proper TWRP or rebrand back to a L29/L09.
If you keep trying to reflash it - it'll probably brick. Some other things changed with the update - for example, flashing recovery is now "fastboot flash recovery-ramdisk". That leads me to believe they made changes to partition names/mapping which current scripts might not reflect. It's dangerous and I wish you had seen my PSA warning against this exact situation . Good luck!
EDIT - Just a thought, but *maybe* if you manually flash each partition using an extracted Nougat firmware? Comparing extracted versions of Nougat and Oreo firmwares might show the partition name differences... I would think at least bootloader, recovery, system, data, maybe radio/modem, kernel, whatever else... I used to salvage bricked 6Ps that way if fastboot was still accessible... Might be worth a shot, but also might brick it.... I'd probably just wait for the official updates TBH.
Hey guys.
I try again (maybe 10 times) with Hisuit (FF). It's really work. I can roll back to nougat. Yesss

You mean a method like this? https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/xt1644-stock-marshmallow-to-nougat-t3540022
If you download the 93-14 Nougat firmware, that's the latest version. Nougat OTAs currently only exist for the 93-11 firmware.

Yes, your bootloader status won't matter - as long as that's all you've done. As I understand it, the update via stock recovery only cares if the rest of your phone has been modified - if you've still got a stock bootloader, stock recovery and stock kernel (from MM, provided it's up to date), it should work and you should be eligible for future OTAs.
The only hurdle I could see happening is that the build of Marshmallow expected by the OTA and your phone's current OS build do not match, in which case it won't install. Thus, you may have to consult one of the fastboot Nougat 93-11 or 93-14 threads to install, which you'll have to do if your system is modified past the bootloader.
Here are a couple for your perusal:

Thanks for the brief info, it means i have to flash it via fastboot and if that works fine then I'll be able to get OTA, but for your info, I've unlocked bootloader and installed Official TWRP but if i flash any of the firmware (given above) will i face bootloop kinda stuffs? I am scared if something goes wrong then i will even not able to restore nandroid backup. Hope you gotta help me.
Thanks.

I see you've received a response in the other thread regarding if XT1644 will accept the update; given you've flashed TWRP, if you wish to be very safe, I would suggest re-installing your Marshmallow ROM so you have a stock install before proceeding to Nougat. There's nothing stopping you from directly flashing Nougat, and the fastboot method for either Nougat build may correctly overwrite the relevant files, the only way is to try the procedure. Don't use the TWRP backup images of Nougat - they don't contain updates to your baseband modem and other core parts of your device - they are only meant to be used once your entire phone is updated to Nougat.
If you wish to restore back to stock MM before flashing Nougat, here's links to stock firmware for XT1644: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/xt1644-firmware-t3454980
But either way, read all the instructions first, ensure you've got all the firmware and tools you need installed/downloaded, your phone has at least 50 % battery and plenty of time, and you should be okay.
Hi everyone my device is huawei p9 lite L31 and I installed the unofficial update, after that I found out some apps are missing and the TWRP aswell so I can't flash nothing.
I would like someone to tell me which TWRP I can install and how please.
Thank you!
TWRP for Nougat doesn't support mounting of the /data partition at the moment, so there is nothing you can do about it. You should have flashed the update + data in the first place. All you can do now is unlock the bootloader, flash the oeminfo for your device and downgrade via the 3 buttons method. Next time, in TWRP for MM (which does support /data mounting), you will flash update + data for Nougat which I still can't understand nobody does.

Btw when I wanted to update I flashed both files and I think that the update wasn't complete with all files and system apps already.
Something went wrong, then. You should be able to find oeminfos in some thread here on XDA, otherwise google is your friend. Just be careful what you flash because you MUST flash the correct one for your device and locale

Hi!
A while ago i managed to install medrom v3 on my phone. It worked well except for the play store. I read that this is caused by a version mismatch and i could be solved by flashing certain .img files.
Life happened and i didn't use the p9 lite for a while.
At the moment i got a phone with a unlocked bootloader and i want to go full stock with a locked bootloader.
I tried several things, like rollback files, 3 button method with a update.app and so on and i keep getting the : Software Install Failed error, indicating that the versions are mismatching.
It's a EU dual sim phone and the previous version before i medrommed it was stock: VNS-L31C432B130
And hints and guidelines on what to do ?
Thanks in advance!

Simo, thanks for your reply. I checked again and it was MEDRomV2 (your work ) not V3. Sorry the misinformation.
before reading your post i flashed 161 on it through 3-button. It said software install has failed, but MEDROM dissappeared, seems to be 'stock' atm. Playstore doesn't work and bootloader is still locked tho ?
Could you give me some guidelines on (which) oeminfo (and how) to flash ? And can i revert to unrooted/(re)locked bootloader/stock rom if i follow the instruction you gave me in the quoted post?
sorry for the late reply i don't have much time lately I appreciate your effort and time.

hello
this thread will help you : https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/help/play-store-connect-to-google-account-t3503409
How's the camera on Medrom v2?
Hi friends,
I managed to solve my issue.
somehow i went from Medrom to Nougat 'test-keys'. From there i installed Revolution recovery, fixed the file system format to fat and back to ext4, then i installed the beta 336 Nougat, then i Rolled back to MM B160 and from there on i did the OTA to 370 and 380.
I am running a full stock (locked bootloader) L31C432B380 Rom now. Thanks for all the input.
Plzzz help im stuck I want to rollback my huawei p9 lite VNS-L31 where its build number is NRD90M(test keys) to marshmallow 6.0 help don't know what to do . Plz if you can explain step by step what can i do because i'm not good in these things , My bluetooth not workng , there no calculator , no software updater , i am not able to check if got update or not and so on......, im stuck plz help
Well hey.. first download this rollback package from this link:
http://download-c1.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=93645&version=371484&siteCode=np
Extract and move all the files to dload folder on your external SD Card then install it with the 3 button method. If there's no dload folder then create one.
So the phone will reboot and now you can downgrade to any mm rom
Now just download this mm rom from this link:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1164/g104/v66015/f1/full/update.zip
And again extract and move the files to dload folder on your sd card.. Install with 3 button method.
Done! Everything should work now!
In case If you don't know what the 3 button method is..lol
•Power the phone off ?
•Just press and hold on POWER + VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN buttons
The phone will start installing the rom and that's the 3 button method ?❤
this is not working for me. it says incompatibility with current version and to download the correct version.

Man, you have to do entire procedure: unlock bootloader, install twrp for Nougat and flash oeminfo for your phone. Before that you have to put in dload folder MM firmware (B130/B131),
because after flashing oeminfo phone try to repair firmware from dload folder. If repair do not start, power off phone and power on with 3 keys combination.
Hi All,
I'm having a similar issue as lennie27 however I think I might have strayed down an incorrect path during the process of upgrading to Nougat. My device shipped with VNS-L31C16B120 with no updates available through the stock updater. I tried the Firmware Finder guides which listed options for VNS-L31C169B13x and VNS-L31C432B13x however none of these updates would work, updater would say it's incompatible with current version. I also tried manually downloading the VNS-L31C432B160 firmware and installing that with the 3 button method as well as the EngineerMenu option with the same result (found guides that stated needing to be on B160 or B161 before making the jump to Nougat). Eventually I decided to unlock the bootloader and install Nougat through TWRP and followed the obeygeekupdate-huawei-p9-lite-to-android-7-0-nougat-manually guide (can't post links ) on manually installing Nougat (stupidly never paying attention to the fact that it's a beta build guide). I've installed TWRP to the device again using the P9 Lite Toolkit v0.0.0.11 found here on XDA (used this when on MM however the upgrade seemed to restore the stock recovery) with the idea of downloading the build from the ministryofsolutions huawei-p9-lite-vns-l31-nougat-b371-update-stable-europe page and pushing that to the device instead (however now the device doesn't want to boot into recovery)
Now my only concern is, will this work? I've noticed a bit of commenting going back and forth on the ministryofsolutions site which essentially boiled down to the need for debranding the phone (apparently C19 is MTN South Africa specific and I need to debrand it and get it onto C432 Europe before mucking about with Nougat, but alas to late) which seemed to be something I should have done while on MM still. If I can find a full firmware link for VNS-L31C16B120 can I flash that through TWRP without needing to follow any prerequisite steps? So far nothing that I've tried to flash using the three button method has worked, I'd just like to get back onto an official stable firmware again.
Any advice will be appreciated

you need to install nougat recovery, not the one from the toolkit. then twrp will work and the device will boot.
to go back to 120 you need to install oeminfo, and then the update.app

Thank you for the reply, managed to come right a few hours after posting. Turned out the copy of TWRP that I had on hand was more outdated than I thought, downloaded the newest copy and that worked on the device. Additionally I managed to find a website listing just about every firmware for the phone (Including my original MTN ZA specific variant) so I downloaded that and managed to restore the phone using the three button method. Phone is back to stock now and even the unlocked bootloader nag screen is gone so I'm guessing the bootloader is locked again as well One day when I'm brave enough to attempt this again I'll look at debranding the phone and getting it onto a C432 based ROM before getting it onto Nougat again.

Hey guys, I tried flashing the stock moto oreo rom (october patch) through 1. flashing via fastboot and 2. twrp flashable rom.
Both methods worked but I lost my IMEI, regardless of which method I flashed the rom with.
I had made two EFS & Persist backups (one from resurrection remix rom and one from a twrp nougat june patch rom) and tried to restore them after flashing the moto oreo rom, but no success.
Can anyone help me with this? I really want to use the stock oreo rom!
Please help guys!
What version of twrp?
twrp which error during restore?
Ever flashed someone else's persist file when you were on stock?

Try flashing one of the full flashable zips from that thread, get the last one. But in the installer, do not select firmware.
Hopefully that will get you going again. And no, don't ever install an ota.

Thanks for all your help is there any way to fix OTA updates? like relocking bootloader? or should I just leave that unlocked ?
I just installed \POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-4_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
and am getting a 3g \ H signal now but its a different sim card and service from original card, seems to be working now
Is it just oreo that screws everything up , I know this is all over but its not very straight forward
im no android expert clearly

Bootloader doesn't matter, can stay unlocked.
And the IMEI/4g problem is Nougat only, never heard of someone who lost something on Oreo or when updating to it.
If you flash latest Oreo firmware for your region (endings with 17-xx are US, 13-xx is for the rest as far as I know) you should be good to go.
