Junsun v1 pro no video plays and no Sound - Android Head-Units

I have a junsun v1 pro 2GB/32GB and a problem.
I need technical support please.
all videos or YouTube etc. do not work. there is simply no sound and after about half a second every video stops. I can't watch a single one. only the radio makes a sound.
what do I have to set so that I have a sound everywhere with every application? The radio gets the internet from my mobile phone, which is connected via a hotspot. Reception is very good.
I ask for help

Video is forbidden in nearly each single country while driving.
This is no issue, this is expected behavior.
You need to connect the handbrake cable at the cable tree of the radio and if you want to watch videos, you are able to do that when the handbrake is active.
You can workaround that with connecting this brake cable to ground, but as I said... It´s not allowed.

Thanks for the answer.
just for understanding.
With the wiring harness that was supplied, can I connect the cable with the brake to the ground of the same wiring harness? Does that mean then also ground the cable or connect it to what exactly?
that would be great if it worked again. Of course only when I'm not driving

Is this right? Must i connect ACC and BREAK on the same tree to watch videos while driving?
expand...BREAK needs a positive(!) signal so it makes no sense to connect it to GROUND of your car.
If your car doesn't provide a BREAK wire or you want your kids watching videos while driving, you can split ACC and connect ACC (from car) additionally to BREAK of your head unit. Your head unit will get power on BREAK as soon as you turn on ignition.

I don´t know your unit, but all units I have, have a switch somewhere in the settings to activate Video while driving.
You really need to figure that out.
Normally the break-switch in most of the cars is ground switched to light up the warn signal in the instrument cluster and not power switched.
But... If you trust the information you just provided... go for it.

Nothing can brake on the car. May be a fuse will pop, but that´s it.

So thanks again for your help.
You're right, when I'm stationary and put the handbrake on, the video doesn't stop.
I tried to connect Brake to ACC but I can't find the right cable.
do you have a tip for me?
I also found the setting to interrupt the handbrake. I deactivated this. do I still have to connect the two cables or not?
Or should just changing the setting be enough?
Thank you for the help

Last questions.
how can i find out which model i have? i have a junsun v1 pro. but which one? it doesn't say MTK8259/8257 anywhere?
and how do I get into the secret menu with the special settings that everyone always shows with the whole bar of radio settings and can settings, etc.? I don't see a gear when I go to device in auto settings.
and of course I will report in detail.

Hi.
I switched it in the handbrake break menu (open, closed, speed). when open and at speed, the message while driving appears immediately and so on. when closed, there is no message but again every video stops immediately after one second. so this doesn't help.
What else can I try?
I wanted to do an update but after 50 attempts he showed me for about 10 seconds that he was doing an update something with Ts and then end. were only two lines that were there. then it started again normally with the same version. so it doesn't work either.
I have the feeling that my system is somehow not open to all settings. what else can I do?
I'm going crazy with that part. nothing works.

Perhaps i can go to the Secret menue but i cant find it. Can i try a another Software for this Radio?

I must correct myself. I'm sorry.
actually when standing and with the handbrake on there is a sound and the video runs normally.
how can I still bridge the fact that I can watch videos while driving?

A newbie experience installing a Joying JY-VM130N2 (Intel Sofia 2GB, Android 6)

Hello, I would like to share my experience with my first Android Head Unit (an Intel Sofia Joying JY-VM130N2), installed in my 2009 Volkswagen Passat (B6) in case it works for any one ealse.
I never installed anything like this or related to car audio, but I am familiar with computers an tablets and that sort of things.
This is the before:

The front panel gets out with your bare hands (but maybe in your case you have to use some kind of prying tool)
As an advice I read many places, don't disconnect the AIRBAG cable in the frame. I just left it hanging.
The radio gets out unscrewing 4 torx screws. You can see there is behind a blue box, and that was a Parrot hand-free that was broken and I had to also remove.
I just disconnected it, connected the Joying unit and voilà (didn't even take pictures of the unplugging/plugging process):
I just installed it with the canbus and disconnecting this cables (which I think other people connects and after they report problems with the unit...):
I had some weird problems with the bluetooth, but it seems to be working perfect now. I can send/receive calls using the Head Unit, and also I have it conected to a cheapo ELM327 bluetooth dongle bought in amazon, and working great with Torque.
Good things about this Joying product:
Cheap, it gave me the opportunity to have a GPS navi system, bluetooth hands free, and other insteresting features a very reasonable price
Installation was really plug&play, as advertised. It took me less than one hour to make the swap (I didn't install any rear cam, or microphone yet, but the unit works decently with the built in microphone).
Cons:
I suspect this unit will not last as an OEM unit, but didn't cost the same neither, I asume that
Not top notch quality here. Some buttons get deleted, the LED color for the buttons is incomplete, and the white LED color is... pinkish. Cheapo, but it works right now...
I had to solve over-heating problems. I installed a heat sink, and a fan, and a modded cover to allow evacuate the heat from the unit.
In any case I would rate this as a 6/10, basically substracting points for some issues as quality endings, terrible English manuals (at least Joying has a very nice collaborative community that makes Joying worth double it deserves). The English manual is simply sad. I had to search in XDA and their carjoying forums/blogs to find out answers I needed to proceed to the installation of the unit.
I demanded a new button that came like scratched or something, or wrongly painted; I hope to see how their after-sales respond.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I have some questions I would search the answer and come back here...
Does any body know if I hve my Head Unit paired with my telephone, can the HU use my phone's data plan to navigate or do online stuff?
Can I start SYGIC in the background everytime the Head Units turns on? I live in a place with many speed radars and the main reason I want this unit is to advice me of speed radars in case I get distracted... Now I have to manually start Sygic every time...
How can I improve the radio reception? AM doesn't work at all...
EDIT: I forgot to mention I found it extremely easy to install (AND REMOVE) this units... I think, I could steal this unit in 2 minutes. 3 minutes if I remove the cables carefully and also steal the GPS antenna... Have to do something about it...
EDIT 2: By the way, if you're interested in buying one Joying they have a promotion code 'joyingESP' with a 10% in the Intel unit. I don't know until when that code will work. If you need it, just try to use it and good luck.

1. You need to root and install an Bluetooth tethering app (read on my Q&A or you can install it via @surfer63 app after you root the unit) so every time the phone connects to the unit you have data also from the phone.
If you don't want to root then you can make the phone a wi-fi hotspot for your unit but you need to start the hotspot manually each time you enter the car or do it automatically via additional software from Google store... if you have an Apple I don't know if you can automate this
2. If you use the NoKill Sofia server custom keys mod and you edit the script properly you can start it every time... or there are apps in the Google store that can auto start apps.
3. I have no clue... I rarely use the FM radio... the AM radio I have never used it the last 20 years or so I mainly stream online radios when I want to listen to the radio... the quality is the best, way better than what an FM radio can offer

I couldn't bluetooth tether, but I think it's due to my old smartphone (android 4.4). It has the option, though, but it seems to not be working properly.
I used tasker to detect when I stablish a bluetooth connection to the Joying head unit, and then I activate WIFI tethering (which the HU detects and connects to).
Thank you for your help though.

Are wondefoo head units any good?

I have been looking at getting a wondefoo android head unit for my Toyota Sienna. It looks like it has good specs (PX5 chipset, 4gb ram, 32gb storage) and the seller has quite a big selection of HU's on aliexpress for different cars but I can't find that many reviews of wondefoo units as compared to xtrons or seicane. Have any of you tried one of their units before and if so how was it?
I'm also looking at one. I know that this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/IPS...pm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.280.2f743c0098GCRV is MTCD based.

I have this one from youmecity on aliexpress and find it to be superior in every way.. My previous one, the one that you are looking at, did not really have Android 8, it was Android 6, hacked to appear as 8. This one is also cheaper and ships free. Got mine in less than a week. Also their customer service is outstanding - they respond same day . I have had several of these Asian units and this is the first one that has been trouble free and is really acceptable, to me.
It also supports an external USB HD of up to 500MB. I have a Samsung 500GB SSD behind the dash and it works fine. I have no complaints and it has been in use since 1-1-2018.
thanks for the reply cardio77.
I was hoping for a unit with volume and tuning knobs, as my Rav4 doesn't have steering wheel controls for the audio. I was also hoping to go with a PX5 SoC as opposed the All Winner.
The hacking to make Android 6 appear as Android 8 is quite worrying though...

You could install malaysk rom on that system because it has an sd card slot, which should definitely get you android 8 as far as I know All the systems for the Sienna don't have a sd card slot so unless theres a way to install malaysk rom with usb or an adapter I'm gonna be stuck with the factory firmware.
I have ordered one of these with 4GB RAM and 16GB flash. I will keep everyone posted after it shows up.

My head unit showed up yesterday, and I opened it today. It looks to be of reasonable quality, other than the word phone being misspelled on the button (lol). However, I've taken a look at the pinouts listed on the sticker on the top of the unit, and it appears the wiring harness is missing the wires for Canbus. Am I correct to assume that these would be the wires for steering wheel audio controls? I don't have them in my car, but I was considering adding one of the aftermarket ones.
Here's a link to photo with of the back of harness, front of the harness and pinouts on the unit:
back of harness
front of harness
pinouts
Is there a way I could wire them up myself?
I have one in my Alfa Romeo 159 with Malaysk 8.0 Rom installed. All ok, working pretty good.
Ah, I've realized that steering wheel remotes use the Key1 and Key2 lines. What's the best way to tap into these the wires in the harness?
Does anybody know where I should tap into wires for the following connections? They are on my harness, but I'm not sure where to connect them:
Amp-con - amplifier control
Ant
Tv-ir = ?
Back-car - reverse signal
Auto-ant - auto antenna power
Brake-ctl - hand break signal
Not a great start with this unit so far. I can't seem to enable WiFi on it, and when I look in the advanced network settings, the MAC address looks like it doesn't have a WiFi adapter at all.

I now have 2 of them and no problems with wifi at all. The WiFi setting is on the home screen of both of mine, as is bluetooth. Settings can also be pulled down from the top of the screen just like any android phone. WiFi reception is much better than on my previous Joying HU. It is not 802.11 AC but 30~ 40 MBPS from about 60 feet from my access point in the house. I also found that you can use an ethernet to USB adapter for much faster results for downloading software and updates. I just run a cable out the door into the car and I get 400 MBPS +.

Well, I finally got a chance to get the head unit out of my car today to try to reseat the board, and it appears to have worked. I'm surprised because it really didn't feel out of place at all, but it seems to be working fine now.
well, the Wifi failed again, so I tried the same thing, and it now appears that the screen is messed up. I've done a quick check of the ribbon cables connecting the screen to boards, and nothing seems out of place. Here's a photo of the screen now

Hey guys!
Been looking at a lot of android units, but have narrowed it down to two, one being a Wondefoo. The listing says the mic won't work with 'OK Google' etc. only for Bluetooth. Can anyone confirm? Is this the case with all android units?
Thanks in advance.

No audio using Aux In

I am adding new information immediately below, enclosed by brackets and above my original comments!
[I bought a second Android generic Chinese radio and it also had the same issue with no audio when using Aux In. After some back and forth with the seller, I got a response that the seller contacted the manufacturer, and the seller was told the Aux In feature was no longer supported. I've asked if the seller can find out how/why.
I would really like to hear from anyone who has bought any one of the many generic Android radios off eBay or Amazon and if they have tried the Aux In function and what results were observed. Thanks!!]
Original Comments:
I've recently installed an Android radio, OS 9.1 with 10.1 inch screen and most everything works great except for the Auxiliary Input.
I get no audio at all using Aux In. I've tried two different mp3 players and two different 'mini phono to RCA' adapter cables - plus I know both of those adapter cables are good because of having used them elsewhere. The audio from the mp3 player is enabled to be played on this Android radio by use of the "Avin" app, which of course I've tried. I've ensured the volume on the mp3 player is turned up, and I have verified the mp3 player does indeed have sound output by using earbuds.
Most everything else on the radio works great - radio, USB functionality, navigation, backup camera etc. But it is interesting to note that nothing works on the one connector which has the RCA jacks for Aux In, Audio Out, and Video In......the audio out RCA jacks don't put out sound to a device capable of using it, and the video in jacks display nothing on the screen of the Android radio when a video input is provided. I have ensured multiple times the connector which has these features is fully plugged in and seated properly in the radio. All of the pigtail wires associated with this connector look good, and I see no pushed pins or other anomalies.
U found fox yet? I have some problem it works only with aux out but have two streams of music eg radio and ipod
any update with this? I got issue too
Same issue here.

Must be a "generic radio" thing. I have a Dasaita and AUX in (called AVin) works fine.
You do need a "AVin" app (or similar) for it to work though. Are these "generic radios" missing the aux or "avin" apps?

I can't seem to find it. I read in another post that when you enable the front camera, it changes...from aux to front av.
I haven't test it, asked the seller, but haven't got ta response...language barrier plus time difference is a hassle.

You can install any app. The question is; will it work.
This particular AVIN app is a Dasaita specific app built for Dasaita machines and it doesn't come from the google app store. You need to find the app that works with your machine... if you can find one that works at all.
That's the problem with these "generic" machines. Most of the time they are put together by resellers who don't include all the software.

That's the problem with these "generic" machines. Most of the time they are put together by resellers who don't include all the software.

Yes I've been noticing...
I'll try to talk to the seller patiently and see how it goes...

I have following issues that i cannot correct, no matter how much i google i cant find correct solution:
- Bluetooth will only connect to my phone, not to OBD2 adapter. There is no settings for bluetooth in the settings, so i cant even find the adapter. Is there any bluetooth fetures that have been crippled for some units?
- The EQ is very bad, seems it has some presets that all sound ****, except for one, and if i try to modify that setting it reverts back to very bad sound. If i make exact copy of the good EQ setting, under the "personalized" setting, still the sound is not the same. Seems the EQ is just BS. Is this a common problem, any solutions?
- Reverse camera image is inverted / mirrored. And when i change this setting in the settings, nothing happenes to the image. No matter how much i change setting. Anyone knows good solution? There is impression for me that settings does not affect anything, its just a marker in the setting menu.
I would be very happy for any suggestions towards helpin these issues.
I am using Pulsar media player for music - only. (no spotify or other streaming services)
Do i need to provide other info in order to solve these issues?
Thanks guys!

Set BT pass on head unit same to OBD2 pass. That resolved problem with my OBD2
I have the same issue on my HU, but it's different to your HU.
I can also only manage the Bluetooth through the phone app. Often the pair just don't work. It fails to connect to odb2.
What you mean with "Set BT pass on head unit same to OBD2 pass. That resolved problem with my OBD2"?

I think you didnt understand my problem.
The bluetooth options are completly removed from the settings menu. There is no setting for bluetooth to be found.
I cannot even search for BT items.
The phone is paired to the android unit from using the phone app. However that will not allow pairin of OBD2 or any other BT units.
Are there some units crippled not to accept BT pairing with other units?

You need to change the BT pin on the main unit, to the one defined for your OBD2 adapter e.g. 0000 on this picture change to 5678 or 1234 or 2345 .....
Ah okay, i tried it, but still same issue. I contacted the seller.
My problem is that there is no bluetooth settings at all. There is no place in settings where i can choose bluetooth to sync any bluetooth items. Only in the phone app, and that only allows to sync phones.
Is bluetooth disabled in this unit?
What do you see at the connection icon left to it.

Connection settings left to what?
The normal place for bluetooth in the settings has not even the word bluetooth. Just wifi.
On the other units there is also bluetooth settings in this place, however on this unit there is not.
I tried to download other bluetooth apps to activate it but non of thos apps work on my unit. However the phone conncets perfect and has good range..
What do you see when you Click on that icon?
I now changed the OBD2 unit and managed to establish contact. Even if this unit was showing on other units, it was not showing on the head unit.
Now the BT is working as expected, still i dont have any setting for bluetooth inside the settings - where it should be.
Other problems still remain.
Equalizer is not working good at all. Seens that only one of the settings is working, rest is very bad soundquality. Even if i make custom preset exact same as "rock" sound is completly different. Like night/day.
Also i cannot mirror the cameras, the unit does not understand mirror and there is no difference in image when i klick mirror button in settings. So left becomes right and vice versa.
I noticed there are TWO EQ apps running same time.
Anyone seen this problem before? That might explain why sounds is like ****.
I tried to forcequit one does not help.
Any suggestions?

Sorry, but what do you expect?
Anything not working? If yes... What???
If the unit switches on with Key in Pos 2 or ignition and powers down when removing the key, the CANbox works as expected.
If you want more, you may set the correct CAN settings in the head unit.
Thank you for your reply. so as in the picture can bus disconnet So i can't use car app to know how much diesel my car uses also no warning when door open and other thing.I tried all can bus

In this case get in contact with the seller, give him all information about your car, incl. model year and what is needed and ask for the correct Can adapter. Might be the wrong one for your car.

You just get information from the CAN if the CANbox could interpret the messages. If not, nothing is shown.
I´m still pretty sure that the CANbox is the wrong one or the settings in the head unit are wrong.

please poll the android car stereo out and check if the the can bus connected an if there is no short with cables, then take a photo for the can bus sticker and send it here
On top, I would read out the BCM for CAN error messages.

...and I mean to read out any error message stored on the modules.
It always can be possible that any issue on the CAN sets an error code in the BCM (Body Control Modul).
BTW: If you just connect something to the CAN, you need to make sure that the CAN is terminated.
Needs to get read out with an OBD scanner.

Could you explain this last message? How would you recommend looking at the CANBUS to determine whether a head unit is causing a short/issue versus another vehicle component/wiring issue? I'm having a lot of issues after installing a new stereo, but was having a few minor issues beforehand in the same general area of the vehicle.

Well...
If any attached system has issues and disturbs the CAN, you will have multiple issues in this CAN.
You need to connect an oscilloscope to see what is going on on the CAN and if the signals are correct. If they are not correct, you need to find the controller or device which is disturbing the communication.
As long as this has not been fixed, you may have issues also with the radio. Analyze the issue correctly and fix what you will find.
You need to get the diagram of the CAN where the Radio is attached to and then follow the diagram to narrow that down.
At least a scan for errors with a good OBD device will help to filter out what is wrong.
