Hey guys,
So lately my watch has been rebooting randomly.
The watch is Fossil Gen 6 with Wear OS 3.
Sometimes it just goes black and i need to force reboot it.
I was getting boot issues sometimes as well, it's stuck on the Google spinning animation with the times.
I tried to factory reset my watch from the watch it self and recovery and nothing helps.

Hey yot2703,
Did you have any success finding a solution. I'm having exactly the same issue with my Fossil Gen 6 with Wear OS 3. Rebooting randomly. Screen blacking out and becoming unresponsive. Was working fine for a couple of weeks with Wear OS 3 and was fine with Wear OS 2. My son has the same watch updated to Wear OS 3 and hasn't had any problems.

So...
I tried a few methods that could lead to a solution, but the issue could come back again.
The methods I tried:
1. Factory reset few times from Recovery - No success.
2. Emptying the battery to 0% and keep the watch down for a few days and then charging it to 100% - Worked for a week after another reset, then the issue persisted again and it got lot worse. My watch won't boot at all.
My brother owns Gen 6 as well with Wear OS 3 and he has no issues at all.
I talked to Fossil support and they told me to send it back to them for replacement since the issue coming from the hardware.
I haven't sent it back to Fossil in the US since i don't want to pay huge shipping fee, but the Warranty is global so talked to my local warranty provider and they took it for inspection and they might replace my watch.
i'd say talk to your local Fossil store or the one who provides warranty in your location.
P.S. - I saw people on Reddit that sometimes it does the same reboots on WearOS 2 as well.

Thanks for your reply. I'm in Ottawa Canada and there is no local warranty provider. You send it to a location in Toronto and they in turn ship it to Dallas to fix or warranty it. One of my son's watches buttons stopped working and I've sent it in. Expected to take 5 weeks. Disappointing customer service in my book. I'll see how that goes before deciding what to do with mine. May just cut my losses and move on.

Problem is i like this watch overall, i really want it to work.
You probably have local Fossil support.
Try to mail : [email protected]
Thanks. I will email them...and I agree with you...I was quite satisfied with it prior to these issues.
just fyi...the email they use is [email protected]
did anyone get this working in the end?
I contacted Fossil at [email protected]. They recommended draining the battery completely then recharging to 100% a few times. This did get rid of the random rebooting and it was fine for a few weeks but now the battery is draining very quickly. I'm going to contact them again and expect I will need to replace the battery.

First of all, hi to everyone, i am new to the forum.
So i am a new owner of a Nexus 4, i have it for about 2 weeks. It's rev11, came with 4.2.2 out of the box, and it is completely stock and not rooted.
I didn't have any crashes or anything weird to indicate something is wrong with the phone in this time. And 2 days ago, i woke up at 12 instead of 9 i had my alarm, and the phone was not responding to unlock the screen and wake up. After some time pressing the power button it rebooted. So i though something temporary. I searched it here and is something known, sleep of death. I was not charging the phone btw. So i went my day using it again normally, and the next afternoon, i again try to unlock it to check something and see the time and again the same thing. Holding power button turned it on again after some tries. I didn't have to connect charger to reboot it as in some other cases i read, nor my battery percentage was any different or abnormal after the reboot.
But 2 days in a row can't be coincidence. The last app i installed before i noticed it is battery widget reborn.
So my question is, what is causing it? An app bug? I can restore to factory settings and it will stop? An OS bug? So we have to wait for android 4.3 for possible fix? Or a hardware issue? Because if it is hardware, i think i can still send the phone back and get a replacement, but this will leave me without a phone for 2 weeks maybe
Any help on this? From a little search on the forum most of cases seems to be an issue with apps undervolting the cpu while on standby or custom roms and custom kernels, but i am completely stock, and no app is doing anything to my cpu, i haven't enable something like that, and possibly without root even if i wanted it would not be possible.
Had this happen when I bought my phone back in January. It started happening probably mid-Feb and I probed through a ton of the internet and these forums for answers. The only thing I was left with was to call Google customer service and return the phone and replace it with a new one. So far, 2 months and never a SoD.
Provided you grabbed this from the Play Store:
Google customer service was very understanding and set me up with a code to buy a new phone off the Play Store and place the hold on my account. That new phone came in 3 days and I packaged up the old phone and sent it back with the labels Google provided and my account hold was removed in 4 days. They email you all the documents and UPS labels - you just do the rest. Most hassle-free return I have had and I deal with NewEgg RMTs quite often and I thought they were great...

I bought from amazon uk, through a marketplace seller, but brand new. So they can't instantly ship a replacment since it is not officially sold from amazon, but it was fullfiled from amazon, so i can get a refund but i have to send it back and then re-order. This is quite the hassle. But on the thread you posted, i read multiple people saying that even the second or third phone they got back from RMA from Google still does that. So maybe is a software issue instead of hardware? Any other ideas to try before i go through the return and refund route?
Will a factory reset help in any way?
Or if i unlock bootloader, reflash the stock image, is it possible that this will fix anything? I mean is it possible to have a corrupted install of 4.2.2 on my device?

As stated in the other thread, turn off WiFi. If you get a replacement, chances are you will still have the problem. A new thread didn't need to be started for this. You should have posted in the thread referenced.
How i fixed the Nexus 4 SODs
Same issue here with my Nexus 4. When connected to Wifi, with Android 4.3, every two days (more or less) it suffers a SOD.
And this is how I solved it: First, turn Google Play Store auto updates off. Second, install the 'Wake My Android Pro' app from the Play Store and set it to 4 minutes, Auto StartUp and Low Wake (and remember to use the 'back' button to save the preferences). No SODs for a week!
Hi everyone, could someone PLEASE assist me with the following issue:
Samsung Galaxy S4 Issue:
Product: Samsung Galaxy S4 (NOT ROOTED)
Network: T-Mobile UK
OS: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
Build Number: JDQ39.I9505XXUBMG7
Other: Before repairs build number = JDQ39.I9505XXUAMDD
ISSUE:
- Crashing Issue leading to Self reboot
ANALYSIS:
- The Phone crashes out - Happens when phone is on stand-by and when in use.
- The phone will turn off by itself (crash out), then reboot, and this will loop over - can be every 5 mins or every hour, sometimes the phone works as normal for a whole day then the issue reappears the next.
- Sometime a Battery Pull is required to get the phone to boot up again.
My Troubleshooting:
- It doesn’t matter if it's on a full charge or not.
- Factory restore was done (no apps installed) via the Setting Menu and via the Boot menu (Power Button + Home Button + Volume Down) = Issue Persists.
- Removed the Samsung SD card = Issue Persists.
- AVG + Avast anti-virus have been ran = no issues where reported.
- When charging (phone being OFF) the green battery icon is shown and the phone charges as normal.
- Charging with phone ON = Still allows the phone to crash.
- Booting the phone in Safe Mode = Still causes the phone to crash in the same way.
- The phone's battery does not seem to overheat (unless it’s done numerous reboots one after the other).
The Car Phone Warehouse Troubleshooting:
- The phone as already been sent for a check-up (14/08/2013) recommend by Samsung via The Car Phone Warehouse.
- Their Tech people could not reproduce the issue, but reinstalled the OS (Standard Procedure).
- The Phone then worked fine for 2 days, and then the issue reappeared on the 3rd day.
- The battery was tested in-store at the CPW and was reported to be fine.
- The charger was also tested = Working correctly.
My Analysis:
To be able to fully reproduce the issue, at least 4 days of testing needs to be done.
If a Tech Agent was use the phone for the full 4 days, I am pretty sure they could reproduce the issue.
CURRENT STATE OF THE ISSUE:
- I am unable to use the phone due to it rebooting or crashing out nowhere.

Since you have already carried out some trouble shooting and still experiencing problems, I would take it back to the Carphone warehouse and demand either a replacement or a refund as it sounds like a faulty unit/hardware.
Sadly i though that would be an answer, but wanted to run it by the forum to see if something else could by tried out or tested ? :good:

I'm not an expert by any means, but the usual suggestions would be updating firmware and much of what you have already tried (factory reset, battery change, etc). I dont know how long you have had it or what usage you have put it through, but as you haven't even rooted or modified it in any way, then I would fully expect it to just work out of the box and would rather get it replaced than proceed to try and fix, only for the issues to start reoccurring down the line. You should have at least a years warranty from Samsung so if Carphone warehouse **** around then you can always go down that root. Best of luck, hope you get sorted.
Issue
Seems to be a Motherboard problem.
One way to find out is to see if your sensors ( gyroscope, accelorometer, etc) are working.
There are tests you can do.
If that test shows issues, its a motherboard problem.
( Not sure how accurate my data us though)
Worth a try.
Cheers, Ive only had the phone for coming up 3 months so not long. Car Phone warehouse wont replace it, they send it to the Tech Team (somewhere in the UK) and if the Tech Team cant sort it out it then goes to Samsung. I don't thing the Tech Team @ CPW done much with the phone to be honest.
The whole process is really time consuming, taking almost 3 weeks.

The test mode is worth a try, enter *#0*# on your dial pad and you should be able to carry out tests on all the sensors/hardware.
That sounds like really poor service from CPW, I would just kick up a fuss and not give up until you are fully satisfied! As you have only had the phone for 3 months and STILL do not have a properly working phone after their attempts to "fix" it, a phone which may I say is an expensive, high-end device that you are paying them your hard earned money for.
Results = That it crashes in the Test Menu as well, even before I can begin any tests.

Other than a motherboard issue, i cannot think of any issue that produces the same problems that you are describing.
I suggest you call up the samsung customer care and create a fuss about how CPW is treating customers like ****.
I'm sure they will respond.
update: I went and tested the phone with a Brand New Samsung battery = same issue.
Got to be hardware related.
Im away back to CPW tomorrow and see whats what.
The problem with all this is that CPW tech claims not to be able to reproduce the issue, and when i got the phone back I stayed in the store for 30 mins re-adding my contact and apps and SD card, and doing basic tests. And all was working correctly, so thought it was fixed.
Sadly 3 days later I am back at square one.
I thing before the phone even gets sent to Samsung, I am gonna have to keep bringing the phone back to CPW until they decide to bypass there Tech Team and pass directly via Samsung.
Then again Samsung might not find the issue either.
Gonna have to film it and get that vid to them somehow.
Never had any phone issues in the passed had to happen someday.
Hey guys I'm having a problem with my nexus player and was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and a resolution. If I'm playing a game that is heavy in graphics (like dead trigger 2). After about 20 to 30 minutes into the game my controller loses connection to the nexus player. Neither the controller or the remote will sync. I have to get up and pull the power and plug it back up and voila everything works. It's just frustrating because it happens during games.
I initially thought it was heat but now its on a shelf with nothing around it and it still does it.
I may call Google for a replacement bit just wondering if others had the issue first and if there was a fix.
Thanks.
Well I called Google. After being on hold and talking to one of their reps they suggested I take it back to Best Buy (which I no longer have the receipt for). She then connected me to Asus tech support. After talking with them we came the conclusion that this is not normal operation and it should likely be sent back for return. I bought the device on May 17. Asus confirmed that the device is still under warranty but insisted that I would have to pay for repair (which defeats the purpose of a warranty). When i asked him what the cost would be, he put me on hold and then almost immediately sent me through to a survey for how the call was handled and then the call was terminated. Still no return calls back from Asus or Google. A bit disappointed. Obviously no one else seems to have the same issue and the device is not even two full months old and they want me to pay for repairs.
This nexus player/android TV is beginning to turn into a Google TV scenario all over again. I have two Google TV boxes still and it just seems that they give up on the damn things.
At the moment I have a $100 hockey puck sitting in my entertainment center connected to my TV which is for the most part useless.
I've had the Nexus Player for a couple days and the remote would work anywhere from a 1-10 minutes and then loose connection. I kept unpairing and pairing it and it would only work for a short time. Rebooting did not work. My phone was working fine as a remote. I finally got fed up with it last night and did a factory reset on the Player and it worked the rest of the night. Woke up this morning and tested and the remote is still working great. Tried again at lunch time and no issues with it at all. It may be a little inconvenient but I would give a factory reset a try. It was not to much of a hassle for me as I really only had 1 app installed on it.
(I am on Android M Preview 2)
(only found one thread with this issue, from nov 2015, with zero replies: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/wifi-issue-nexus-6p-t3244411)
So, let's go.
Nexus 6P Android N Oct 5th, Build NBD90X here.
Bought on 4/10/2016, one week ago, in Germany, after Pixel announcement (too expensive).
Manufacturing date: 11/17/2015 (bit old, maybe refurbished?)
Behaviour: At first, connects normally to WiFi. Connection stable for a bit, so it is not a reoccuring "it reconnects every 60 seconds and can't hold the connection" thing, it is very different.
In following situations it drops Wifi:
- When screen goes off for more than 1-2 minutes
- when I cast something (YouTube, Twitch) to my Chromecast and the Nexus screen turns off after 60 seconds, the Cast continues, but when I wake up the phone, Youtube or the other apps say connection lost, so I can no longer control the stream. I tap "retry" but it does not work and I have to restart phone, reconnect to Chromecast and stop the cast that way. Super annoying.
- And, not often but happens: even when i scroll through Twitter, it randomly disconnects and reconnects after about 10-20 seconds.
Things I have tried:
- different APs and Networks (home, at work, at a friend's house)
- changed Wifi channel, 2.4, 5ghz, .. basically just tested every setting here at home. since problem occurs also at work and other networks, can't be the cause.
- wiped system cache, nothing
- reset network settings on phone, several times, nothing
- WPS, nothing
- under "Location", advanced, disabled the WiFi and Bluetooth scanning stuff
- switched from "always" to "only when plugged in" at "stay connected to wifi" setting. changed behavior to: not reconnecting to WiFi when woken up. Instead, it finds all networks BUT the one it remembers and should connect to. I have to turn wifi on and off, even that does not help sometimes. then I have to reboot.
- maybe some measures I even forgot about now, but basically everything ever, anywhere, recommended...
- eventually I factory reset the device on sunday, started with "set up as new device" from scratch, wasted another few hours to eventually have the same result.
I used all my data plan because "Android System" downloaded so much in the background in the first night (when it should have been in Wifi of course), have to turn cellular data off now to not pay for extra megabytes (germany..).
so I don't get any updates or push mails anymore because mobile data off and it drops Wifi all the time. this is unbearable.
Same router with my previous Desire HD, LG G3 and Nexus 5X: all with no problems.
My big question is: is this a software issue that will be resolved or do I have a defect device? I need to know fast because I have 14 days return time at my reseller and 7 are gone, 4 of them I tried to fix the problem. The old manufacturing date made me questioning the device in general. So is this software-related and will be fixed or should I RMA my device?
I also posted this on the android forums: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=206311 (look at the very helpful answer by the developer xD ... )
Having the exact same issue since updating to NBD90X last Wednesday. So glad I finally found someone else is having g this issue. Has to be software, right?
I made a new issue report on code.google.com (issue 224971). Please report back if you find a solution, my data plan is wrecked already.
EDIT: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth just powered off while I was browsing XDA in chrome. So it happens randomly, not just when phone is at idle. This is really bad!
the same issue after update NBD90X
Same.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I didn't face this issues. Maybe your device is defective. Return it and buy a new one.

Please add your experience to the code.google.com page listed above (issue 224971) so they can see it's not just one or two people.
So, any news on this issue? If it's only three people in the world, i will return my phone on monday and ask for a replacement. Still in 14days-return-policy timeframe.
Although this looks like a software issue, waaay too few people are reporting that issue to justify keeping the device.
Annoying as f'ck but better safe than sorry. Hopefully the replacement will be of a newer manufacturing date without any issues.
Firstly, this is weird lol, I bought my 6P in August of this year and my manufacturing date is exactly the same as yours.
Though I bought mine from an authorized retailer, I doubt it'd be refurbished, anyway, I did a clean flash of NBD90X and everything is working well for me. No issues whatsoever aside from the slightly crappy battery on Nougat.

Did you clean flash the NBD90X factory image or take an OTA?
Hi,
I got it from a pretty big vendor here in Germany, pretty solid, 6000+ reviews with a 1,5 (1 best, 6 worst) rank at our best price comparison site. Ordered a LG G3 back in 2014 there and a Lenovo Thinkpad for my gf, everything perfect.
No, I got it, it had Marshmallow, then I had to install two security updates before it reached the "preparing for 7.0" update (20mb or sth.), then I got N and then, one day later, D90X appeared.
But I did a factory reset after having the issues.
You think I should try a clean flashing of the NBD90X? I thought I tried everything, but actually doing that didn't come up in my mind.
/edit: Did your packaging come with the papersleeve around the white plastic, where the S/N and the big P logo is printed on etc.? Cause my packaging was missing that. Only the plastic with transparent tape to hold it together. That is actually the only reason why I thought about "refurbished" because everything else looked completely new, no fingerprints, MM 6.0, etc. But it made me wary from the very beginning.
I just did it and wiped again, installed from scratch. Factory Image NBD90X... as clean as it gets.
After going through all the steps and wasting another chunck of time, it took 5 minutes until the first disconnect. While screen was on, while downloading stuff from the Play Store.
I am so annoyed by this phone, can't even tell. Two weeks of troubleshooting, nothing worked.
My connectivity just dropped dramatically. Had been on NBD90X since about 10/11. Our other does not exhibit this problem, both are almost set up the same. I then set mine up exactly like hers and still connected in kilobytes. Project Fi said they would send a refurb and I'm not excited over that. I've got 24 hrs to decide now. If it takes an hour or to to download an update that the other phone can do in a minute I guess mine is a lemon. Doc I just posted several places about this and my troubles started about the same time as yours. Also just installed the factory image and there's no improvement here.
Thanks for your report. Got myself a replacement device 10 days ago, no trouble since then. The old one went back and I got my money back.
Def something wrong with the WiFi chip or whatever.
Loving the phone now, 7.1.1 runs smooth af.

Cool. Glad yours works now. I went ahead and ordered the replacement, I'll scrutinize that refurbished unit when I get it. Being the weekend it won't ship `till Monday. Didn't realize how much I depended on this darn phone until mine quit working right!
Well if it helps just one, I post this.
Our power went out for `bout an hour. Later I was still frustrated with the 6P and started messing with it, damn it was fast again. Went to sites immediately, went to the playstore and tried to get an app that I had given up on getting earlier and ~10Mb was downloaded and installed in 4 or 5 seconds!!
I hadn't even tried using the phone when I was out the last couple of days. That plus the fact that my Asus OnHub was down, it probably lost it's cache. Kept the settings but damn I'm gonna unplug it for a min or two the first of each month now!
Cancelled the replacement..... nothin-to-see-here-move-along........
Hi all I have a Samsung s8+ on Vodafone UK and have got the same problem as many people out here device freezes and then reboots out of nowhere after reading endless comments on it and not getting anywhere I noticed that my phone freezes and reboots 9 out of 10 times when I'm outside and it's cold now I was wondering if anyone else has found that when there outside and have their device out it does this? Quick example I walked to the gym today which is a 10 min walk and on the way there it did it once then on my way back it did it twice now whilst being at the gym it didn't do it and being back home now for about 3 hours it hasn't happened once. Imo it's the hardware but I want to know if anyone else experienced it in this way or maybe this will trigger a lightbulb moment and we get a solution.
Thanks guys.
Quick edit: I have tried the hard reset, the factory reset, smart switch, got the latest update and device is 3 months old

Why do you think it's the hardware?
Flash a new stock rom using Odin. Get the latest version for your device and carrier.

Because it only seems to happen outside I went from last nights post to this morning without reboot but as soon as I stepped outside within 10 min it happened then I tried replying to this post and it happened again so yeah done this reply twice. I'm currently inside and it hasn't happened. I don't know if it's the battery is being sensitive to temperature changes after the exploding ones but I don't seem to have this problem indoors I was outside for roughly 25 min and it rebooted twice consistent with other times now I have read a comment of a guy describing the same problem and he had his motherboard replaced and the phone seemed to be working fine after that but there has not been an update after that so I'm not sure if that was a long term solution.
