Profiles app for WearOS - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since my ticwatch I've noticed that there isn't any app so you can adjust profiles according to time/day or scenario.
Right now what I miss more now on my Galaxy watch 5 is a simple app that disconnects bluetooth at night and turn back on in the morning. I'm putting in flight mode manually at night and saves a lot of battery since I started to make this.
I know that Fossil whatces have a battery save profile that seems fantastic but I imagine since messes with sytem can't be ported to other watches.
Anyone knows if there is such an app at least to turn on/off bluetooth on schedule. I have night mode on GW5 but only changes notifications with no other options. By the way I don't have a Samsung phone.

Fast battery drain after 4.3 update

Hi everyone
I installed about two weeks ago the United Kingdom BUT MJ7 stock rom and from that moment my battery life is horrible.
I tried to disable everything I could, here's a list of what I disabled:
- Wifi
- GPS
- Bluetooth
- Reading mode
- In Wifi settings: Always allow scanning
- Air view, Smart scroll, Smart pause, Smart stay
- In software update: Wi-Fi only
I tried also disabling the "Remotely locate this device" in Android Device Manager under Google settings but it also didn't improve the battery life.
I set the brightness to auto and the Power saving mode is off.
I don't want to enable the power saving mode because it feels later that... I don't know how to explain, I don't like it.
I don't use any bombastic applications, I use Facebook, news, workout app and antivirus. That's about it.
I don't play games and don't mess with big applications.
I charge my battery everyday and in most cases now (after the update) twice a day. For example: last night I had my battery on 80% or such and in the morning (after 6.5 hours) it was around 60% (~20% per 6.5 hours).
Also, during the day, when I use it I just go to facebook and such silly stuff and I start my day with 100% and end it with 60% (and again - no playing games and no stuff like that which require maximum graphics, CPU performance and such).
In settings>Battery the Screen is shown to be the most "heavy" process but I already set on automatic brightness, the screen timeout is 30 sec. and everything is disabled except from "Auto adjust screen tone"(but it's written in its description that it saves power). Oh and also I have adapt display turned on.
I also wanted to say that before the update my battery was OK and only after the update to 4,3 that happens.
Thanks in advance for any of your help
Do factory reset. Backup if you need too..

[Q] sleep mode on watch?

I want to spend some time developing a 'sleep mode' for android wear. I often sleep with it on and would like a mode which keeps the light off while I'm asleep.
Has there been any effort in implementing this, and how would you proceed?

That would be really awesome.

Bump to that!
thats a nice idea
Great idea. I'd suggest activating sleep mode either when the watch is placed in the charger, or give users the ability to set start and stop times for sleep mode.
I agree, thats cool. It would be great if the smartwatch 3 could stand in low energy mode without light all the time. Because the smartwatch 3 has a transflective display. You could read the time with display-light off.
The closest I've seen is the sleep as android app. I've tried with mixed results but I never seem to get the watch lighting up while sleeping
There seems to be a sleep mode on the next update wear 5.0...you can get the screen on by Double tapping screen or by pressing the crown button

Bump!
Would really love this, an app that unchecks the ”Always-on screen” setting for selected hours of the day, so that the watch automatically turns screen of when you sleep for example…
Oh please..... We need this
I hate manually turning off the watch before bed and back on in the morning. But I did get 36 hours with 9% battery left on my LG G Watch using this method
Someone should write an app that can auto toggle the new theater mode at night/quiet hours
I usually turn the watch in airplane mode in the night... Burns 1% per hr battery overnight on my moto 360

Disable Stamina Mode for a Better Phone

Having now used the Z5 (Normal Version) for about 2 months, I have noticed one major thing about Stamina function. It is an absolutely amazing feature that does a great job in saving battery life *BUT*, and it is a big but, if you really want to enjoy your phone then this needs to be turned off because it greatly inhibits performance.
Things that I have noticed include:
"OK Google" commands works intermittently
Camera load time is slow
Style Cover widget lags
System updates don't download automatically, also seem struggle in finishing app updates from the store
Maybe it is not an issue if you do not use those features but because I do and it is proving to be a real stumbling block in allowing me to enjoy an otherwise excellent device.
What's your experience with Stamina Mode? Have you got any tips to make it work better or came across any issues yourself?
I don't really use it myself except for at overnight (it's my alarm clock) but you haven't mentioned if you've also enabled "Extended usage" which "Restricts device performance in to increase battery time". Maybe you'll have a better experience with that OFF?
From my understanding, how STAMINA mode works is to pause all apps that it could when the screen is off. So the battery life is extended because less apps are running when you are not using the phone. Hence the phone enters deep sleep and this results in the laggy experience you encountered. When a number of applications return to normal state at the same moment, that would be a time several processes compete for CPU time and that could be one of the reasons that cause the phone to be laggy after waking up from long idle. Battery life and performance is often a trade-off and therefore your experience sounds normal to me.

If you click on the "stamina mode" entry (not the on/off button), you can add apps to a whitelist who will not be affected.
I have no need for stamina mode on my Z5, the battery life is more than enough for me...
On my Z1 i always had stamina mode enabled, otherwise the battery didn't last the day.

Thanks for all your replies. So I only have the standard stamina mode on and not the extended one and I have also tried adding apps to the whitelist hoping that it will improve performance for those apps but I don't think it has made any difference.
heihei_ivan, that is also my thinking behind why I think the phone is laggy when waking up but I just didn't think it would affect it that much.
I think what I will do now is to turn stamina mode off and see how long it will last. Like Snaqejack, I think it might actually be ok!
I personally don't understand why people buy an octacore high end high powered HD screen smart phone and then go... Right lets activate everything which restricts performance, smartphone usage, syncs and pushes, dims the screen to the minimum etc... Might as well just bought a lower spec model in the first place
I understand using those settings for things like night time, when the battery is low, if you're out for the day and don't need your phone particularly for anything but receiving the odd call or text etc... But for continuous use 24/7 i just don't get why people do it

They're just trying to cheat physics - everyone wants a free lunch
I configured Stamina Mode to auto-enable when I reach 15% battery left. That's the best compromise I think.

I can guarantee you I am not one of those people, however, Stamina mode is one of the phone's main USPs but what I am noticing is that it seems to induce lag when performing a variety of tasks even though the specific option to cap performance in Stamina mode isn't turned on.
You need to put Google Play Services on the white list and Google Framework IIRC. This becouse several apps depend on these services to have internet access like for example Facebook Messenger. Else they wont work properly, you might get logged out or they will restart once you go back.
thanks
Battery life astonishingly high after charging...
The first picture is without stamina mode and second one with stamina mode
Those estimates never accurate, that's only for a phone that's not doing anything on it just sit on your table standby mode, might as well buy a regular flip phone.

With and without stamina mode
Awesome Man....
I've used Stamina mode for a long time, but I decided recently to turn it off completely, as an experiment, not just on this phone, but on my Z3 too.
I never use the low battery mode because it always turns stuff off when I still want to use it, so no point for me.
I must say that in real time, Stamina mode doesn't make a great deal of difference to me, plus now I get all of my notifications if I leave my mobile internet on. My WiFi is set to turn off when the screen is off. I know it's automatically set to Always on when you first get the phone, and that kills the battery.
I still get at least a full days usage out of whichever phone I use the most that day, and several days from the phone I use the least. I tend to swap using phones from one to the other, and back again.
Stamina mode only works when you're not using your phone, and for me that's not a lot of my day really. I do use them regularly.
I was quite surprised at how long they do last, even without Stamina mode.
Stamina mode is good for work so you don't get notifications while you're working, just at break times when you check your phone. My kids moan at me for not getting my WhatsApp messages or whatever when I have Stamina mode on too, so there is that

Actually, Wifi will not kill the battery, mobile data will. It's always better to keep wifi on and use 2G as that has a much stronger signal and won't impact battery.

Should I exchange my Nexus?

Short and simple. I ordered from best buy, so I have a two week window to make sure I'm happy with my unit. The phone is doing two things that are bothering me.
1. Battery drain while idle. I was under the impression this phone was supposed to be a champ here. However, last two nights have shown otherwise. Last night after only 6 hours of sleep the phone went from 100 > 77. A significant decrease in performance over my note 4. The night before wasn't as severe, but no apps running, and nothing under battery management to notice. I should note that my drain while in use meets or exceeds my expectations.
2. Do not disturb. I swear last night, I set my alarm and noticed this feature was on, promptly turned it off, and went to bed. It was on again this morning. I HATE dnd features, never will I want to miss notifications in purpose, I'd turn my fracking phone off, or notification sound to silent. This turning on by itself is not going to work. Seems to turn on when I set my nighttime alarm.
Do I exchange or deal with it?
One is user error, the other is an OS issue that will likely be fixed
DND does not magically turn itself on. You're turning it on, accidentally somehow.
As for the first, it is more than likely an app, or wifi drain, of which there are many simple fixes for. If it's wifi.. turn scanning OFF, and change wifi to 2.4gHz only.. Then RESTART your phone. the restart is a must,

I don't understand why you would want to deal with it if it's bothering you , plus you're within that time period to either exchange or return. So id say exchange for another unit, if problem still persists then it's your decision to keep it or return it.
I've never used my nexus or any nexus I've ever owned not rooted but if you root and use naptime app to get aggressive doze going ... I get 7 hours to 1% battery drain on standby always. I use Pure Nexus & Dirty Unicrons roms. But if you are one who likes Note phones and whatnot then nexus probably isn't for you.

[Q] Watch stuck in Battery Saver Mode

My Huawei watch dipped below 15% and a card appeared asking if I wanted to activate Battery Saver Mode. I did. Later, I charged my watch, but the battery saver card was gone and the mode was still activated. The screen will not stay on, (despite having "screen always on" enabled), and I do not get any vibrations or other alerts.
How can I manually deactivate Battery Saver Mode? I don't see it anywhere on the watch or the Android Wear app on my phone..
I'm in the same boat on my Samsung Gear Live. Severely limiting the value of the device. The gestures can be turned back on, but an AMOLED display should be more than a pretty screen.
