Hi,
This might not be the right platform to ask this, I'll ask anyway,
I'm looking for a USB Type-C charging cable for my Nokia 6.1 plus, as the original is damaged.
I asked the service center and official Nokia support, as they say they are out of stock.
On Amazon there are too many products with different seller of different brands, now i don't know which one to buy.
Also, I use the cable to connect to the PC and install custom roms.
So, i was hoping that any of you might suggest a quality cable.
Thank you

You can use the type-C cable of any famous brand, not necessary the original one.

Dear all,
at this moment I am trying to repair the micro-USB connector on my HTC HD2. At the moment it only charges when inserted in a certain angle, this is not very convenient and as I am willing to experiment, I want to replace the micro-USB by myself.
Therefore I've brought some soldering tools and such, I haven't opened my HTC HD2 yet, as I am doing preparations first. However I am stuck at what micro-USB female plug I should buy to replace the one on the HTC HD2 (european edition; 512 MB).
Can someone give me advice? I would like to replace the micro-USB port with one that is exactly the original model. I've found the following products on Farnell, please type micro USB female which one should I buy? Or does someone have any other recommandations?
I will try to keep you guys posted on my replacement procedures.
PS: I am unable to post links as I don't have a lot of posts, however I spend a lot of time reading posts here.

Just a few options for you there
Hey, thanks for your response, however I'm not really comfortable with the price, it's even more expensive than my cable, as it is in pounds. However can anyone identify what kind of micro usb this is? (Type)
temp_tsun,
You didn't state where you're from, or in what country you'd prefer the vendor be located. But to answer your question:
It's considered a "standard" Micro-USB, or more precisely a 5-pin micro-USB "Type B" port. Google around for those keywords in conjunction with phrases like "HD2/Leo charging port", "...charging connector", etc, and you'll find some vendor candidates. Looking around for a minute or two and comparing prices I found this one: cellularpartsusa.com/htc-hd2-charging-connector.html. Cheap, but I don't know anything about the merchant or what their shipping rates are. Also, I remember reading somewhere that other OEM versions of this part may be compatible with the HD2, possibly the Blackberry Bold. So, expanding the search I found
sw-box.com/Usb-Charging-Connector-Port-For-Blackberry-Bold-9700-Curve-8520.html and
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400203459666&hlp=false, but you better ascertain first that it's the same part since I can't be 100% sure.
Hope that helps. Good luck with your surgery...
I'm sorry, I'm from the Netherlands. I own an EU version of the HTC HD2. I'm currently delaying my surgery because the order of several soldering tools are delayed. I will try to make pictures and post them online to help others a) preventing the mistakes I made (and my phone will probably die ) b) showing others how I did it and hopefully more surgeries will succeed.
PS: I'm going to order this one, hopefully on monday I will have it =).

Did you manage to repair this yourself ?
I also have a broken USB port, which I since found to now be detached from the circuit board when I disassembled the HD2. I don't think I am good enough to solder a replacement (as it is so small!), so am keen to hear how you went ?
i'd like to know too, as i foolishly returned the phone to HTC and had them break it completely for me. They offered a new motherboard for £215 or aboy $450 dollars outside of warranty. now i need a charging mat and am back on win mo 6.5.
Hello everyone. Within a month of receiving my tablet last year, I (or someone else using the tablet) somehow managed to damage one of the pins in the USB port and it no longer works. However, while researching the GNExus (I intend to purchase it soon) I began to wonder if the MHL Adapters for USB OTG will work with the Iconia? If anyone can confirm if it works or not I will greatly appreciate it. Here's a link to one that I intend to buy for the GNExus.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938451&pf_rd_i=507846
Thanks in advance!
Did you ever figure this out? I've had the a500 for awhile, just got the Nexus, picked up mhl adapter at same time. Would be slick if it works for a500 as-is, though I wouldn't be surprised if the micro-hdmi is much better to use...
Need to just get a micro-hdmi cable...
I think you misunderstood. I was referring to the USB OTG adapters. I did take the risk and buy one and unfortunately it doesn't work with the A500. Nothing I plug into it gets any power. Tried it with a friends HTC One X and it didn't seem to work there either. Not sure if it was supposed to work on the One X though.
Basically, it could just be a faulty cable, but it could also mean that it just isn't supported. Couldn't hurt to try if you already have one though
I already have a Micro-HDMI cable that I bought on Amazon a while ago. Works great and at $5 its a worthwhile investment
I'm running ****'s ICS ROM v158 based on Android 4.0.4 if it makes any difference.

Ok guys i have noticed one thing since the jelly-bean boot came thundering down apon us and we made the break within hours to get jelly b running for the thankf of dev's alike as randomblame and waydownsouth.
Have we stopped checking or official though? did a search and seems there may be offical jelly bean for us.!!!........
be it that we may have to wait until the next big android update is due to get it from our update-unreliable Acer lol.
just dont understand why the site says the a500 is only available in india......err im in london bought close by retail mofo.

Of their different tablets (100, 200, 700.. etc) only the 500 series is available in India. Not you can only buy it in India. Those are the only ones you can buy in India.
and good find. WDS is doing excellent work, and at worst, this would only drastically speed up his efforts.

i would say its pretty likely as the a500 is one of the acer flagship tablets :victory:
Will USB devices still be supported in JB (and future releases)? The number of tablets with USB ports is decreasing.

They should be. The new thing is USB OTG. That pretty means with the right adapter( Micro USB to full size USB) you can still do USB host( mice keyboards, thumb drives etc). On phones I think this is a good idea, but on tablets I think its a bad idea. The full saize port was one of the reasons I bought the A500.
i would think, so android supposed to be adding more and more applicable usb drivers to accept more usb "add-ons" it wouldnt make sense to start removing one of the best features of android, like Drewmungus says they will problably just change the format on new tabs for OTG, which in my opinion is bull****, i already have a full size to micro usb cable lol

Well, let's see... my Nexus 7 has a USB port. Jelly Bean came with the Nexus 7... so, I'd say... yes?
nice, I was thinking acer would just abandon it like many other companies that released newer upgraded versions
now I guess the only question is how long will it take to actually get the update...
I wasn't aware that the nexus 7 had a usb port on it, but I'm glad to hear it.
nexus 7 has a mini usb port (the same exact port used to connect the a500 to your comp) not a full size usb port if thats what you are referring too
Probably because a fullsize USB connector is almost as thick as an N7...

Is the micro usb port a hub or just a charging port on the nexus sorry for ot. Also are there any other jb a500 roms on the web anywhere besides wds's?
It's a full-on USB port, that also charges. AFAIK, you can use standard USB devices with a dongle adapter, and you can also plug in a USB hub, too.
Thats interesting to know thanks I may have to get one after all
Hello!
I've been observing this tablet since I barely missed the Kickstarter campaign. Seeing they didn't make Remix OS like just a one off, but keep updating it to later Android versions, too. Continued support is always good.
I'm now really interested in getting a hold of the tablet. But unfortunately it's not available here in Germany where I live. So I'm considering to import it. I've seen other German people around here having the Remix, so I'd like to ask a few questions I'd like answered before deciding to go through the trouble with customs and stuff.
1.) If I import it from the USA, it'll have a charger for US wall sockets.
a.) It's not by chance modular like the one of other internationally sold devices, such as the Surface tablet, is it? On the Surface tablet you can just swap out a module with the socket pins.
b.) Sockets in the USA usually have 120V. If I maybe try to use the charger with a travel adapter if the pins aren't swappable, is the charger ok with 230V, too?
2.) I'd like use the tablet to play some games on it. The developer however might limit the devices the app is available to download from on Play Store. Can anyone with the tablet do me the favor and check if Play Store says that the app is compatible with it? (I would link them if the forum wouldn't disallow me as a newbie.)
a.) GTA 3 or GTA 3 (German low violence version)
b.) GTA: VC or GTA: VC(German low violence version)
c.) GTA: SA or GTA: SA (German low violence version)
d.) GTA: LCS
I would really appreciate if you guys could answer my questions here .
Cheers, Mini-Me

Dont forge the discount link at the bottom of the page. - http://www.xda-developers.com/jide-remix-ultra-tablet-multi-window-done-right/
I ordered from link above to Australia (~240v)
1a,b)
AC is 100-240v adaptor model "sk1-01-ec" with US style plug, not swappable and did not provide adaptor.
can charge over USB if you need to but slow of course.
2)
play store says I can spend money if I want to,.

Alright, thanks a lot for your answers . So it'd seem the tablet actually fulfills all my wishes .
Also thanks for the hint on the discount, however it would seem it's expired:
Not a big deal though.
I guess I'll look into how I can best go about importing it to here then.
I'm hanging myself into this thread.
For me I discovered the Remix Ultra today and I like it very much.
What concerns me is:
- Will there be a german hardware keyboard layout available? Especially special charaters like ä,ö,ü etc.
- Just to make it clear: In Germany I won't be able to charge the device other than USB?
Best regards

From what I've seen so far - no. On their own site they only sell it to the US (currently?), so they only need that one for now.

No, you can use the provided charger with a travel adaptor from what I've understood from monki-magic. You'd just plug it between the socket and the charger. The charger then should work fine with the 230V in Germany.
I'm currently hesitant to place an order because trying to get it through customs might be difficult. From what I've seen so far it doesn't have a CE marking and trying to import it they might confiscate it because it doesn't comply with electronics safety regulations necessary for EU.
Oh, and the discount link works again.
Best Regards, Mini-Me

Your concern about the keyboard layout: you are able to change the layout on the software-side. So you have to know where the umlauts and other buttons are located.

Hi,
I want to replace my charging port. I read about 2 different Versions: rev.19 and rev.25.
I looked at my charging port and there was no lettering. Which one should I use for my S4 Value Edition or has it a special Version?
Best regards
Has nobody an idea? Swiching the battery every day isn't funny
Happy new year
Simon
Hi....I wrote a guide on this exact subject....but for the S2. In the case of the S2, there were/are 4 different variants or 'rev' versions of this board for the international version of the phone on its own (and numerous other boards for the other variants). My instinct tells me the S4 has a similar setup, and that being the case, then the 'rev version' of the board you buy needs to match the 'rev version' of the board you remove from your phone.
If the board you remove is the original factory fitted board, it *will* have the version printed on it somewhere. It could be on either side of the board or it could be on the cable that attaches the board to the rest of the phone......but it *will* be there.
You need to re-examine the faulty board thoroughly to look for the Rev version number....I've a nasty feeling it will be critical for successful repair of the phone.
