Hello everyone,
So I found com.android.settings/.BandMode and stupidly switch band mode to US.
Two options available: US and Japan.
Everything works fine but I'm no longer able to switch my network to GSM. WCDMA and LTE works fine but it's like both Japan and US radio band doesn't support GSM.
I'm living in Europe and using stock rom Nougat 7.1 with genesis kernel.
I guess default setting for radio band was Europe or Automatic but there are no options other than US and Japan.
So is there any easy solution (terminal) to reset this setting to default or do I need to flash modem file from my stock rom?
I have twrp and bootloader unlocked. Also I have root access with magisk.
Thanks

i have an italian Galaxy s4 i9505, stock rom, no root, nothing modded yet
it is an LTE version and, but i'm surprised that going in settings --> network mode i can't choose LTE, but i have just GSM and WCDMA or GSM/WCDMA auto connect.
anyway, where i live there is still no LTE network. could this depend on the SIMcard?
is that normal?

Yep, same on my Switzerland S4 (i9505)
You will require a LTE enabled sim card.
Whether you have a LTE sim or not you will see the option for LTE.
Your provider / carrier doesn't support LTE since the option was removed.
If you just want to see the option, grab another country/carrier firmware.

i have a no brand terminal, so i should be able to see the lte switch...
i'm surprised of this
i will flash a custom rom when i see one that i like, there are still too few
I also have an unbranded i9505 and didn't have the lte option, tried many different stock roms/modem/csc combinations, but it still didn't appear.
I changed some the lte pref mode setting from gsm_wcdma_only to gwl and still don't have the option. But my carrier activated lte yesterday in my area and i got a 4g signal, so even though i am not able to choose that in the settings it will connect regardless.
ok!
this is good to know, i hope i can try if it works soon
thanks!
Flash it with the uk btu firmware available from sammobile
Hello. I got a fairly used G530T1 MetroPCs. Calls and data works fine, only problem is 3G(WCDMA) won't work. If i change preferred network settings to WCDMA Only, the network signal goes off totally. I've flashed most stock ROMs and custom ROMs i can find here, but the problem still persists. The SIM works fine on other phones, so it is not the SIM card. I have tried other SIM cards too, still the same problem.
Anybody with a workaround or a fix should kindly help me out. Thanks
My G530T (T-Mobile) doesn't connect to 3G or 4G, only to LTE. I think that's just due to the hardware.

I thought that the MetroPCS version didn't come with WCDMA support. Many devices only support GSM, and because this device was never meant to run on WCDMA networks (Metro is GSM only), you might not be able to have these bands. However, if this is not your main device, and the phone is unlocked, you could try flashing an odin file for another version of the Grand Prime. MAKE SURE that your grand prime has the same chipset as the file your flashing, as some grand prime devices have a different chipset. Also, you might have to use a patched version of odin, which is all over xda.
I have a Japanese SCV33 (S7 Edge with the AU carrier) which i am trying to use with Docomo.
The hardware is identical, so you can just burn the stock Docomo ROM/radio etc onto it and it will use the Docomo bands and behave pretty much identical to the S7 Edge released by Docomo.
However after burning the Docomo ROM you cannot use the Felica tap payment system (different to NFC, it is a Japan-specific tech i believe). And i really need that to be working.
So the other option is to enable the Docomo bands on the AU ROM. I believe in Marshmallow (Android 6.0) you could use *#2263# to open the service mode that allowed you to select bands (you could select all bands!), but that option is not available in Nougat.
Would burning the docomo radio (CP in Odin) set the bands that are in use? or is that set somewhere else? Also, is there any other way of checkign the active bands? I tried burning the docomo radio, but since the main bands are the same, just getting signal is not enough... I need to see if it is using the minor bands too.
Hi,
i'm unsure it this will work fine if I flash Chines ROM and afterwards flash Indian / Russian Modem to give me the option for LTE Band 20.
Thanks Guys
The support for LTE Band 20 (or any other band) is not in the firmware file, but on a hardware level. No modem firmware will enable/disable any band. If you don't have support for B20 no firmware file will magically activate it, and if you have B20 support (which x821 has) flashing a Chinese ROM with a Chinese modem firmware won't deactivate it, either. Just try the different firmware files and choose the one that works best with your phone.

On any LineageOS based ROM I got way poorer reception than on any EUI based ROM, and I have tried all the modems, Indian, Chinese, Russian, Development, etc. Never stopped getting LTE reception, regardless the installed modem firmware.
Hi there. I bought an 'unlocked' AT&T H910 LGV20 from ebay.
I thought would work in the UK as the phone hardware has compatible 4g bands that my provider (EE) uses.
The stock at&t firmware only allowed me to use 2g/Edge.
So I have flashed several other roms / kdz files using LGUP
( h910 Puerto Rico, H915 Canada, US996 unlocked US - variety of android 7 and android 8)
Some roms (particularly Android 7.0 Canada and Puerto Rico) work with 2g and 3g but there isn't even a 4G option in the base menus.
Some roms have global or allow you to select LTE/3Gpp but they don't allow me to get a 4g signal.
One even said 4g at the top but when I checked the connection in phone settings - about - it showed 3g (and this was consistent with the download speed too)
II only got videotron Canada to work. Bell and Rogers should have an overlapping 4g band but I got the CUST error on those roms.
I have tried going through service menu but all that can do is sometimes force a 3g signal from 2g
So what should I do?
1. I s there a rom with overlapping 4g bands that would work? Can I flash a HK rom onto H910?
2. Can I root the phone to unlock 4g bands?
Would this survive unrooting to allow me to access microsoft intune (for work email), banking and sports apps (which sometimes don't like root?)?
3. Would a custom rom work? Which do you recommend to keep as many features as possible eg remote control, camera, DAC?
Do they also work with microsoft intune, banking apps, sports apps etc?
I have followed a few of the posts out there but given the ebay seller I wonder if a few more people in Europe might have been tempted!
Thanks!
Hi
You need Band 20 (800) to use with EE UK and according to GSM Arena list of specs for the H910 that version of the V20 does not have it and I do not know if it can be added.

Thank you!
I was led to believe the H910 (same as H915 in Canada) supported all of EE's 4g bands.
But for sure, the carriers seem to have locked some out. But not having any luck with other roms either...
I cannot post the url but
frequencycheck . com
carrier-compatibility/wwW4hXP/lg-h910-v20-lte-a-h915/ee-everything-everywhere-united-kingdom
Compatibility - 3 out of 3 bands supported
100%
Interface Name Supported by device?
LTE B3 (1800 +) Yes
LTE B7 (2600) Yes
LTE B20 (800 DD) Yes
As I said in previous post the H910 does not support Band 20 (800) check GSM Arena site select LG V20 and then H910 and select LTE bands and you will see that Band 20 is missing. The H915 is not listed.

I have a similar issue, having bought an "unlocked" H910 and having only 2G. Is this the file name of the H915 kdz file you flashed to enable 3G: "H91510e_00_VTR_CA_OP_1205.kdz"?
Thanks.
