i have an italian Galaxy s4 i9505, stock rom, no root, nothing modded yet
it is an LTE version and, but i'm surprised that going in settings --> network mode i can't choose LTE, but i have just GSM and WCDMA or GSM/WCDMA auto connect.
anyway, where i live there is still no LTE network. could this depend on the SIMcard?
is that normal?

Yep, same on my Switzerland S4 (i9505)
You will require a LTE enabled sim card.
Whether you have a LTE sim or not you will see the option for LTE.
Your provider / carrier doesn't support LTE since the option was removed.
If you just want to see the option, grab another country/carrier firmware.

i have a no brand terminal, so i should be able to see the lte switch...
i'm surprised of this
i will flash a custom rom when i see one that i like, there are still too few
I also have an unbranded i9505 and didn't have the lte option, tried many different stock roms/modem/csc combinations, but it still didn't appear.
I changed some the lte pref mode setting from gsm_wcdma_only to gwl and still don't have the option. But my carrier activated lte yesterday in my area and i got a 4g signal, so even though i am not able to choose that in the settings it will connect regardless.
ok!
this is good to know, i hope i can try if it works soon
thanks!
Flash it with the uk btu firmware available from sammobile

The LG G2 (model: LG-D801 and LG-D803) are sold in Canada. The LG-D801 model is the same variant sold my T-Mobile (USA) but both models have identical specs. and have been crippled as for the agreement between LG and the specific mobile vendors. The LG-801 does have the LTE capability but being crippled, even if the device is "unlocked" with correct APN settings, the fastest speed received will be 4G. When you go into your network options, 4 modems should be present:
LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)
WCDMA/GSM (auto)
WCDMA (auto)
GSM (auto)
Unfortunately, the LG-D801 model has the LTE modem crippled and in order to enable, you must flash the appropriate carrier ROM and change the regional settings to reflect your LTE carrier otherwise the modem will not enable. I do know some have been lucky with LTE enabling but for the most part, this is not the case.
I know with Samsung Galaxy Note 3, there's a dial-pad sequence you enter to get into the CSC menu to change your carrier. I also know you can install any variant of ROM onto this device for model: SM-N900W8 and it will work.
My question are:
■ Can I install the Telus LG-D803 ROM onto my WIND LG-D801 device without bricking and if so, is there a good instructional guide on how to do so?
■ Is there a recovery program such as TWRP which I can install?
■ Once installed, the KEY point is whether or not anyone knows the regional dial-pad code? This will change the carrier settings to reflect the newly installed ROM so it will unlock the LTE modem and other options specific to the carrier.
Thank you!
Refer to thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2493652&page=3 for my opinion and conclusion. Thanks!
I have a D802 Hong Kong version. In the secret menu (3845#*802#) i have found this: LGD802AT-00-V10C-HKG-XX-NOV-30-2013
Now, I would like to use the 4g connection in my country (Italy, carrier TIM) but the 4g option is not avaible in "network mode". After a test with another G2 (italian version and same carrier), I can say that the connection don't switch automatically on 4g but keeps the H+ one. So i think is necessary a modification.
Solutions?
Is it necessary to flash an europe radio? or something else? I'd like to keep the stock rom Lg but is not a fundamental.

I don't know how to check! On the box of g2: gsm 850/900/1800/1900; wcdma 850/900/1900/2100; LTE 2100(B1)/1800(B3)/2600(B7)/900(B8)/800(B20).
My carrier is Tim but i don't kwow which band uses.
In secret menu/LTE Band section: avaible band 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,17,20,40. No one is selected.
Can i flash V10E firmware for Italy on V10C firmware for honk kong (actually on my device)?
Flashing different firmware wont help. Its either your apn is wrong or you didnt enable lte correctly. I checked and TIM uses 1800 (band 3) lte which your phone should work with.

Hi,
I've a similar question and I hope someone could help me: I've a G2 phone using the D80210e-ESA-XX firmware.
In the product specifications, supported LTE frequency bands are 900/1800/2100/2600/850. I know that in Italy working frequency bands are 800/1800/2600. Now, my phone does not support 800 MHz: do you think is possible to upload a different firmware (IT or EUR ones) on my phone? With one of these firmware, does the device will work at 800 MHz?
Thank you so much.
I also had the D802 with Korean firmware!
Even though the phone itself supports LTE the Korean firmware doesn't!
I flashed the EU version and everything worked fine afterwards!!!

In older Korean Firmware you could activate LTE from secret menu but in newer version this option has been removed!

@popsi, @zacharias99 did you follow a specific procedure to upload the european firmware. I'm not so sure to perform it cause some month ago I've bricked an old Motorola (I don't remember the exact model) using simply a firmware of a different country. The result was a brick cause two firmware did not use the same way to allocate the memory...

And i flashed it with Greek instructions so my link won't help you and i don't want to post some link i haven't tested by myself...

@zacharias99, I've checked that 4G can be enabled using the secret menu
1. Go to LTE-Only
2. Modem Settings
3. RAT Selection
4. Select GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto
as in the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494751
At the moment it doesn't seem to work for me, probably because my sim still has not been enabled for 4g.
Have you ever enabled this option (with the previous korean firmware, I mean)?
@zacharias99, @popsi: the new european firmware allows to navigate over the 800MHz frequency band for you?
Thank you

Hi,
the procedure using the secret menu definitively works on my D80210e-ESA-XX, but I need to re-select it after every reboot.

Hi, first of all, this phone has been flashed to XtreStoLite ROM, which is based on a G900F firmware. Prior to this, the phone has been unlocked by the shop that the phone was bought. S5 G900L is a Korean model and is meant for the LG U+ network. The phone was able to pick up LTE signal in my country (Brunei).
The phone is unable to pick up LTE signals despite on the Network Mode option, there is an option to select LTE/WCDMA/GSM mode. Is there a code that I can use on the phone dialer so that I can activate LTE?
What I meant is something similar to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/mod-root-activate-lte-g3-t2819387
I have tried to dial ##3282# but it does not do anything. I think it's only for the Sprint S5.
The same goes for:
To tell what Band on: ----
1. ##debug#
2. enter passcode 777468
3. go to LTE engineering menu

As for my next question:
When I flashed a stock G900L firmware from SamMobile, it won't read my SIM card, and it seems that I have to use a LG U+ SIM card from Korea first. How do I make the phone able to read my SIM card from Brunei?
Bump.

- As for secret code ##3282#: First, the secret code format of Samsung is *#xxxx#, not ##xxxx#. Second, to see ALL AVAILABLE secret codes in your device, install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Secret Codes'. That way you will know the code 3282 does exist or not.
- Regarding LTE signal, may be your phone does not have LTE bands that your network currently supports. To check for what LTE bands your phone has, enter *#2263# and select LTE Band Preference to see a list of supporting bands.
- If the required bands are missing, you may want to add it to your phone? Try this thread if any luck.

Is their something to do with band with
On my more search i found that s5 has some bandwidth modifications
Since JIO volte bandwidth may not be supported by s5
My questions is that. In which rom are all bandwidth open.
Jio network band 40(2300) ; 5 (850) ; 3 (1800)
Galaxy S5 SM-G900F - LTE 800/850/900/1800/1900/2100/2600 Europe(LTE Variants) for Europe
I guess my S5 does not have 40(2300). I not sure but i guess that is i cant connect to internet but i cant mak call.
May be for internet JIO use band 5 and 3 but for volte may be we need bandwidth 40. (Cant say it truly
I tried to change band setting from QXDM
For 40 - 549755813888 ( no network)
Then agian changed to 549755813908 (which is total of 3 ,5 and 40) network is back but still no volte
After so much of reading.
Still no luck. I wonder how did oneplus team get band 40 and 41.
The problem is that after going nv setting via pc i did change code but still no luck.
In india Volte is on band 40 and band 41. As per knowledge 801 support both band.
Why cant i get to work.
If see the below attachment i have volte option but on my provider it work only band 40 and 41.
Then did add all Lte band as per post
If you i have two option for band all at last.

Install TGY(HONG KONG) lollipop firmware on your 900F .you will get volte option in setting/more network/ mobile network/ volte toggle will be there and a volte toggle button in quick panel .
Also in marshmallow but not works try newer or older MM .volte works in all 3 bands as i tested in note4 901C which does'nt have band40 in JIO 4G
I had this problem for Years before. On the first day, I didn't even have signal in a well populated area with my network Three Ireland. Make sure your phone is set to the 4G/3G Option or even use 3G/2G when calling and switch to 4G when using Data. I'm pretty sure certain networks don't support VoLTE and so they don't do well when you try to configure your SIM on 4G. It should work if you use 3G or 2G. I updated to Marshmallow and this fixed the problem. When I go into the Settings of my SIM Card (Call Forwarding etc.), My phone switches to 3G or 2G and once I exit that menu it goes to 4G again. Not a complete fix but I figured it depends on the Network.

So Im looking for a way to enable native tethering on my phone and after a lot searching I flashed the G935U firmware. After flashing the G935U firmware on my G935V, my data stopped working. Call and text works fine but no data. It doesn't even show the 4G LTE symbol in status bar.

Thats the crazy part! I cant edit it after flashing the U firmware. But the APN settings are the same from when it was still on the V firmware. Its just now the 4G LTE doesnt work. I downloaded some 4G enabler from the play store that took me to some hidden settings to change between GSM, CDMA, and about 12 other variants of similar nature. After doing so the only one that worked was the CDMA (prl) which activated 3G network. But LTE CDMA (prl) didnt work which was what it was on I think.

Nope still no go...its not even showing 3G at the momemnt
I tried every apn/preferred network type combination and wasn't able to get anything better than 3G. So I just got done flashing the G935V firmware back and now 4G LTE is working. Anyway I can use hotspot on G935V firmware?
SOLVED!
So after contacting straight talk it seems my APN settings where to blame.
Upon opening the APN, I had to change APN from "vzwinternet" to "tracfone.vzwentp." Then save and make sure network mode was set to LTE/CDMA instead of global.
I noticed it returns to default "vzwinternet" after flashing any firmware thus making me have to put it back in. But that's no problem at all. Everything is currenly working and I now have tethering THANK YOU FOR THE HELP

G935V to G935U for AT&T
I have the Verizon S7 Edge G935V working on straight talk with their AT&T sim.
Had to change from CDMA to GSM then add the new APN settings.
The problem I have is the G935V doesn't have LTE band 17 which is used in my area.
My Nexus 5 with same sim using LTE Discovery app confirms band 17 but with S7 Edge G935V
I don't get it but a different connection and its very weak.
I would like to give this G935V to G935U a try. My S7 Edge G935V has Android 8.0
I have downloaded ODIN, Samsung S7 Edge drivers, and G935U w/Android 8.0 (AT&T) July 24, 2018
Has anyone done this recently on a G935V with Android 8.0 on it?
Will I get LTE band 17?
Do I loose any CDMA capabilities should I want to try it?
What's the down side of doing this?
How would I continue to get updates?
Thanks,
Ken
