Hi there.
Anyone knows the way to continue recording video with HD2 in background?
I'd like to both make video recording and use the GPS navigation program.
Since the functionality of standard video camera application on HD2 is rather good (sound recording, different types of recording, nice quality) I failed to find any good alternative for it. I know only two programs which are positioned as video register programs for PDAs and both them are not suitable due to a number of reasons. (both apps I'm referring to are oriented to Russian market, AvtoDVR and MyDVR).
May be anyone knows the register key which allows to continue video recording after sending the camera application to the background?
Thanks for help!
I second the request.
I subscribed to a thread which has since long been dead, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=597003 where we were asking for this exactly (and a little more, as well) and AutoDVR came up too.
There's a problem tho: it's pay2use, and a program with banal background video recording shouldn't be (but AutoDVR still offers other interesting features, like video looping through MJPEG format, and gps speed watermarking), and it is severely messed up on the HD2 (as in, not useable, as soon as you switch it to background/lock the phone, the video gets garbled and the program interface does, as well)
hey all! i wanted to ask how i can get a better sound recording quality for my htc legend. if you try to record a video with the standard camcorder app, you will notice that the audio recording is very very horrible. there must be a solution for this, because if you download the app "pcm recorder lite" from the android market and try to record your voice, the quality is pretty good!
My programming skills are far to minimal to take on a project like this. The app idea is pretty basic: A camcorder application which allows you to specify audio quality.
I would like a camcorder app which would utilize the features of the app "HiFiCorder." HiFiCorder allows you to record high bitrate audio up to 320k. I believe the current camcorder apps record audio at around 8-12k.
Every camcorder app I've tried has had pathetic audio quality. This makes taking video on your phone pointless. I believe there would be a huge market for an app with awesome video AS WELL AS audio quality.
Thanks,
Wiskid
Try Bambuser - it allows you to change resolution/audio quality - I own crappy VF 845 with fixed focus 2mpix camera/320x240 video and it does 800x480 video, with better audio quality.
The only thing with this is following: it works like qik, it streams it live to their website, you can later download FLV with your video, they have direct link to video in the dashboard.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try. I know someone had once suggested Justin.TV as well, but I didn't really like the idea of having to stream, then download. I guess if it's the only way to get decent audio, I'll give it a go...
Is there anyone else having a weird issue while recording a video through a 3rd party app like Instagram or snapchat, the video is good but the audio recorded is almost non existent only like a pointy noise is what is recorded. It appears to be some kind of noise cancelation going wrong or something like that. But when I record a video with the stock camera app the sound is perfect. I have tried several versions of those apps and the issue persist. So I guess it's not the apps but the phone.
Hello Oneplussers
Do you also notice that the sound of video recordings is strongly compressed by the standard camera app but also by gcam.
Do you have any tips or other apps?
