There is no cpu hotplugging in Lineage 16, Lineage 17.1 , Lineage 18.1, crDroid 6.27. I have installed all these roms and the battery life is not good because there is no cpu hotplugging in any of these roms. I have a Tab4 SM-T330NU.
btw i dont have any battery draining apps (I only have youtube and chrome) and the battery health is good. Its not a hardware problem with the tab. All the cpu cores are always active and is using lots of battery on idle.
But this problem doesnt exist on CM12.1 and CM14 because cpu hotplugging(mpdecision) exists and the battery is way better.
Is there any fix for this? this only exists on android 9+

Im on android M and got the Skyhigh kernel and the battery drains very fast but i dont know what to do cause in synapse i already set everything on battery and it seems like the cpu cores doesn't really sleep so all 8 cores are in use all the time and i think normally there should sleep some when they dont needed but i also could be anything other cause android os is the thing that uses most battery if anybody knows how to fix that pls anwer
Thank you
Try to do a clean install of the 6.0.1 than do all steps from skyhigh again. After that you can try to use Wakelock Detector to find the battery consumer.
This is what helped me.
I've a 16GB Nexus 4 with Lineage OS 14.1.
I've read a lot of stuff about undervolting and to proceed I need a custom kernel with voltage control enabled.
I can't find any reliable kernel, Nexus 4 is pretty old, there aren't many kernels compatible with android 7.1 out there and given that I only want to undervolt, I don't like the idea of using a custom kernel with unneeded (for me) customisations other than voltage control.
1) Can I just change some parameters in my Lineage OS kernel in order to allow undervolt?
2) Which are these parameters?
3) Should I apply this customisations after every update?
4) Is there any way to choose which kernel pick up at boot? Like with GRUB in many Linux distro.
Get kernel auditor mod on XDA developers install it make sure you have root on in lineage os and make sure BusyBox is installed and open app and install BusyBox to system
Then open ka mod and use CPU voltage control I use a global off set of -50 mv works well for me never set voltage below 700mv
Lineage os has a problem with bsod so be careful
When changing voltages click apply on boot and change by small increments every reboot ke3p trying till you get instability thrn go back up to last stable undervolting setting
Her is a screenshot
what is this
Undervolting is when you provide your hardware less power from the battery it is potentially dangerous depending on how much you under volt and can cause bootloops and or hardware damage If done incorrectly
It mainly slightly increases battery life
And decreases heat some also
It cannot cause damage, maybe data loss though.
Undervolting can be useful. But not so much for our phone. you can kinda go around -100mv on every level without issues, but all it does is reduce some heat when gaming or watching streamed videos. However, in terms of battery gains, it is minimal. Not to mention that undervolting can be unpredictable, like you find it to be stable 99% of the time, then some badly coded app at some specific frequency crashes your phone.
My recommendation: lower everything globally by 50mv, and leave at that.
Hey guys
I am experiencing too much of battery drain. In lineage14.1
Which is bugging me a lot....
Too much of heating
I am on stock lineage kernel.
Guys please suggest me some roms and kernel settings combination because it is too much irritating....
I am writing this thread with 0% battery (with powerbank connected)
By any chance didn't you recently copied a video file to your phone ( maybe mkv format ) ?
@ehsan_zt no bro... I had no mkv files... And after your saying... I deleted each and evry video from the device
ok, I thought maybe its the old media server bug...
You can install one of those apps that tells you "which process is utilizing how much cpu" . also check min cpu speed of your phone in kernel auditor(and monitor cpu speed for anything unusual).
do a clean flash of this rom.
and lastly check if other people with this rom have this kind of problem (I remember people saying recent lineage os updates were draining battery fast ).
Look, developers don't use to change CPU voltages, use my kernel, I fixed this issue
I change the LineageOS to Mokee 6.0 because this issue. Lineage is a great rom but high battery drain in standby. Mokee is the best choice to better battery backup. Try this.
AOSPextended has great battery life.Lineage doesn't give much backup for me ;Now i get about 3.5-4 hrs SOT.
use Greenify and CPU Hibernation app on all roms you use.
hey bro.. tried out your kernel .. performance increased a lot...
but battery issue still persists ... 40% to 0% within 2 hours of standby and 30 min of usage.....
Hi, I can't figure why System Android and Kernel (Android OS) is always on top of the battery usage list. I can't even get 5h SoT and it's hard to hit 24h on single charge. I don't use Facebook and other draining apps and of course I'm using Greenify and Aggressive Hibernation.
I also noticed that battery drain is almost the same when I'm browsing web and playing Asphalt 8!!! Is it normal on this phone?
Here is the fix for battery drain in Android 10
Work on any Android 10 rom
Well tested in Lineage OS 17.1
Here are the tricks
1. Disable CAF Boosted Framework -
{It will fix the major battery drain and heating problem}
Boot into twrp.
Mount vendor partition.
Go to Advanced/File Manager.
Delete the following folder -
vendor/etc/perf
Reboot the device.
2. Disable log (Optional) -
Delete the following files from system/etc/init/
logd.rc
logcatd.rc
3. Lower Screen Resolution -
{Lowering screen resolution little will save battery as gpu work less. It fixes the screen app glitching also}
open terminal and run the following cmd-
Code:
su
wm size 900x1600
**Will Post the screenshots soon**
Screenshots added- from 97% to 57% in 9hrs and SOT 5hrs+
//Boost Framework is a vendor library provided by Qualcomm for phones using their chips. It allows system components to temporarily boost the CPU frequency for increased processing power. Deleting CAF library save lots of power.//

I will post screenshots, waiting to drain full battery.
how about on mokee 10.0??

You can try. It will work.
Havoc 3.7, there is no effect.
Done, will post here if I see any changes
Update :
I'm with Lineage 17.1 and unfortunately I did not have any change during the night, still a noticeable battery drain. :crying:
I will sleep peacefully the day I get a flat battery graph like this in idle drain. This is from pie though and it has vendor/etc/perf intact.
I saved <=1% battery by deleting it on MSM v12.5. Still, keep looking for more battery saving tricks. :good:
Keep this thread alive.
I've noticed slight improvement in battery behaviour. I am on Q Mokke. I dont know if its battery degradation or Android 10 itself, but I manage around 30 hr of usage with 5hr 30 min of sot. Sometimes its 6 hr. But its 80%on 4g.

take a look on the files that you propose to DELETE! There are tons of the processor parameters listed in them. Are you shure that 1% of the battery life better than stable processor work?

When I was with HavocOS, my phone got very hot and the battery dropped quickly.
