Hi, I can't figure why System Android and Kernel (Android OS) is always on top of the battery usage list. I can't even get 5h SoT and it's hard to hit 24h on single charge. I don't use Facebook and other draining apps and of course I'm using Greenify and Aggressive Hibernation.
I also noticed that battery drain is almost the same when I'm browsing web and playing Asphalt 8!!! Is it normal on this phone?

Hi,
Im getting bad battery life in the past 2 months, I tried to flash the latest stock rom, rooted the phone and deleted bloatware, and im also using greenify.
after doing all of those things im still having trouble with battery drain.
at GSAM battery monitor it says that the app usage is 62% (screen is 31%)
20% goes for Android system, and 13% goes for Kernel (Android OS)
at settings - Android system 25%, 15% android os, compared to 15% screen.
Is there anything left that I can do it order to fix this?

I have a 1.5 year old T-mobile LG G2. It used to have great battery life and after a day of light usage I had 70% or more battery left!. However, these days it drains battery like crazy. I hardly used it today, and it dropped to 8% from 100% in 9 hours
From the battery usage I have been collecting using Gsam (it was recommended by some online websites) it looks like build in Android sub-systems are ones draining.
My battery overview shows 21% used by phone radio and 10% by wifi. However when you look at details, I hardly used my radio (8 MB) and only 84 MB of Wifi data. See attachments.
62% is used by Apps and a whole 40% seem be from build in system App (Kernel, Google services, android system, system manager). From the screenshots I already uninstalled the smaller apps with the X sign. See attachments.
What other steps can I take to investigate this problem? Any suggestion on what to do remove my battery drain?
My battery has been acting weird these days, It has been losing battery when the phone is not being used. I wiped cache from recovery and it was good again, but after 1 day, the drain came back. I used GSAM to see what was draining my battery and I saw that Android System used 22% and Kernel (Android OS) used 10%, it means that both used 30 of my battery, is that normal or what ? I have 6.0.1 Thanks.
Thanks !
Hi all,
I purchased my X720 a couple of weeks ago and am still not settled with a ROM which I'd say I am satisfied with battery performance.
Tried LineageOS and it drew more than 5% idle during my sleep ~7 hours. Then I tried Validus and basically the battery drained after a day with minimum use. In both case I only installed 1 or 2 apps other than the gapps. Maybe I didn't get everything right. I am even considering going back to stock or a debloated version of stock.
I just want to check if anyone can recommend any ROM that draws less then 1% each 2 hours idle (not on flight mode). I don't mind whether it's MM or N as long as the google framework works.
Thanks in advance.

Best I've gotten without heavily tweaking and underclocking is 0.6 hr. With some work I got it down to 0.3. still working to improve it. This is on Turbo's Miui Rom v 10A. I got 2 days 18 hrs until it hit 5% battery left. That was with 3hrs 42mins SOT. The Rom has a few issues with setting not sticking on reboot. My watch crashes the rom (Android Wear). Finally the lock screen doesnt work with smartlock. Sure is pretty though.
Another option would be a stock based rom that's debloated.
Any of the nougat roms seem to have relatively high drain like 1.0 / hr was the best I have seen.
Stock still has the best battery life out of all the ROMs available. If you install an app that forces deep doze then you should be able to get much lower idle usage. However, you'll lose a lot of notifications. That's the trade-off...
One that I've used before going back to stock was Naptime: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I guess greenify also has that functionality, but it seemed buggy to me (but it is probably more stable now).
Omni drains 0-2% overnight for me. However, if you're in poor coverage (orange/red) you'll lose more battery regardless. I keep my phone on 2G overnight and data is automatically turned off by force doze.
Also remember that apps can prevent the device from entering deep sleep, so a rogue app could be the cause of your drain. Facebook, Snapchat, etc. Those are battery hogs.

For Nougat I found Ground Zero rom I tried Tipsy battery is pretty good, try few other roms but seems to drain too much for my like.
Hello , i just wanted to ask is it just me or battery life is much better due to some recent system apps update? I put it overnight and in eats only 2% of power !? Is it real or just my imagination?
Versions of lg system apps attached as photos to compare . screen usage 4h , single charge run 38 HOURS
