Well we all know Asus tries it best to give us the best
They have won many hearts and shown their true potential by launching a phone like zenfone 2
I am very impressed by the phone overall but underwhelmed by the battery and camera
We can hope that the next zenfone might sport something even better and still be priced economically
My wishlist is-
1. Amazing front firing speakers
Well everyone wants awesome speakers and ones who have used nexus 6p, motos
They have awesome loudness and clarity but their pricing made me not buy them , i want asus to place powerful speakers and DAC in the next phone
2. Metal or glass
Say, no to leather and plastic ... We do not want dated materials we want is the new style every company is shifting to metal(except samsung, and i do not want to talk about that **** also)
3. Camera
Asus believes in camera able to see even in dark but what it gave in zenny was under the expectations and below the standards we were made to believe in , nexus 6p and Lg v10 rule in low light shots
Please upgrade camera hardware and software , we believe in u asus u will do it
4. Battery
Its needless to say you are the best in charging tech and beat most of the flagships ??
But what needs to be improved is battery capacity and optimization to software
5. Display
Please bring in amoled , it does not matter whether it is 1080p or QHD all matters is quality even mate 8 is running 1080p display and competes well with every flagship
QHD needs a lot juice and would drain battery like hell unless amoled and dark ui is used
6. Software
Asus your zenui is way better than most of the ui's and i love it more than anything except i prefer stock in terms of looks for which i ended up using action launcher and xposed to change the status bar
Please implement an option to choose stock ui over zenui (only for notification panle and status bar and launcher and everything should be same)
Also improve theme engine to allow third party themes
Thats it folks please comment suggestions for the next zenfone , hope asus gets inspired and turn up implementing them
Everything you said, yes please.
So what do you think about SoC, should ASUS stay with intel?
Pretty 1337 specs for the next Zenfone! A brighter, more vivid IPS display would do for me. I'm quite torn about amoled screens at it tends to degrade and lose color overtime. If that's fixed, then amoled all the way!
My take on the "next Zenfone" is not a replacement, but more of an addition. Something like Sony's compact series. Basically a compact version of whatever Zenfone 3 would be. Heck even a compact Zenfone 2 would be nice! Though I have a ZE551ML, I'm pretty much a fan of small, compact phones. It has that "feels good" feel on my hand. Don't get me wrong though, I love my Zenfone!

Well that matters on which chipset they will use, intel has an array of SOCs to use for smartphone like the newest one is intel atom x3,x5 and x7
X5 is used in mi pad 2 and it works very well antutu-100000 approx
If asus uses x7 then it should be better and almost near the flagship standard at least if it crosses the 100k mark and uses good GPU too! Cuz, power vr is not able to render 4k nor is strong enough like adreno and mali 880.
Well QC 820 is the best chipset to pace bet on or else intel
But, NO MEDIATEK OR NVIDIA

Before I start, I have a question. What Xposed module did you install to change the status bar?
I'm quite happy with my Zenfone 2, I payed $400 AUD for it, and considering something like the Nexus 5x is nearly $700 here I think I it's amazing for the price. Obviously to reach that price they had to make some sacrifices.
Speakers:
The speakers weren't the best but I mostly use earphones and when I do use the speakers its fine. Though with the next Zenfone they could move the speaker to the front under the capacitive buttons.
Camera:
The camera is really good in good lighting but horrible in low light, that is something they need to improve on.
Display:
AMOLED, PLEASE.
Battery:
Here we go, this is probably the most controversial of them all. Some people say the battery life is great, others say is garbage. I personally blame 5.0 and Zenui, but hopefully they can make battery consistent across the board.
Software:
Asus needs to scrap Zenui, it's ugly, outdated, and downright rubbish. The first thing I did with my Zenfone was install SuperZen and Nova Launcher, I still wish I could change to 5.1 but I don't want to go with something like CM12.0 because it still has signs of bugs. Asus should be doing what Oppo has done with 'Project Spectrum' and release an optional near AOSP rom with no rubbish thrown in. If I had the money I would of gone with a Nexus. Nothing beats the buttery smoothness of Stock Android.

I won't recommend xposed as it makes the phone slow at least for me, but still if you want to use then go for xstana.

NO! A Big No for that!!!
very bad WiFi performance. comparing with my GTab 3.80 and S6e, with the same router and internet provider, my ZenFone perform worst.
very bad GSM performance. lost signal happen a lot.
very bad battery performance.
Mine is good at all of those,

With the launch of the much awaited Honor 8 on October 12 in India, the battle among the top flagship smartphones has become even more exciting. While the market has got a new competitor to watch out for, here we open the debate to all by comparing top flagship phones from the current market leaders. Read on to know who takes the cake...

Below table shows the comparison of various technical specifications and pricing for these flagship phones.
Based on the above table, we can clearly see the flagship phones from the top manufacturers around the world. They all boast of high-end specifications and are capable of doing much more than a smartphone is supposed to do. With the launch of Honor 8, the competition just got tougher and Honor 8 is really giving a neck to neck fight to all top guns here with almost half the price than that of iPhone 7 and 60% than that of Samsung S7. The only competitor we have in the price segment is one Plus 3 but Honor 8 definitely outshines OP3 with some quality specs and also from an end user's real life experience. It has a slim profile that redefines design. Icing on the cake is you get expandable storage and dual cameras.
Honor 8 definitely has some additional factors over the other competitors here which makes it a clear winner:
Dual camera with RGB and Monochrome sensors to give more light than iPhone 7 in low light condition
Advance Fingerprint supports NFC and Mobile payment along with additional features like taking photos, answering calls, stop alarms, shows recent app, access notification panel, scrolling through the photos in gallery, opening app etc.
Expandable memory with SD card up to 128 GB
The built-in dual ISP improves focus, speed, and process time while clicking pictures.
Wide aperture mode to redefine the focus even after photo is taken.
The Eye-Care Mode makes looking at your phone more comfortable and safe by filtering part of the blue light to reduce eye strain.
Smart Battery saving modes
A-GPS+GLONASS *
*this feature is present in all of the above listed flagship phone
Design- Honor 8 is stylish, sleek and it looks premium. It uses 2.5D glass in front and back making the device shiny. The Sapphire blue color that honor has launched is just stunning and breaks away from the regular greys and silver colors that most of the smartphones offer.
Battery- There is no match to the battery life of Honor 8 with any other smartphone in the market even with a 4000 mAh battery. Honor 8 is able to stretch the screen on time (SOT) up to 7+ hours easily (few users were even able to touch 8 hours SOT) and that’s the biggest advantage here over any other phone.
Display- With 5.2 inch FHD IPS LCD display and 96% NTSC, every pixel reproduced on Honor 8 looks stunning making it overall a great screen to view the content. With 423 PPI, everything displayed on the screen looks so natural and real. All the images, videos and other content looks so real and vibrant that you can't take your eyes off the display.
Camera-The Honor 8 undoubtedly has the best camera even beating the likes of iPhone easily in its color reproduction and the details in the image. The Honor 8 is the only phone apart from Huawei P9 and the iPhone 7 Plus that offers a dual-camera setup in India and Honor 8 easily beats the camera quality of iPhone, even in low light condition.
Hardware- OP3 comes with tested Qualcomm’s SD820, iPhone with in house A9 chip, S7 with Exynos 8890 and are capable of lag free multitasking, Honor 8 is matches up to their standard being powered by hi-Silicon Kirin 950 processor-- built on 16 nm technology; i5 co-processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM is capable enough to do multitasking smoothly. Rapid smart file processing system ensures lag free user experience. This phone wont slow down with time unlike other Android devices.
UI/OS- OnePlus 3 offers a near stock Android experience with OxygenOS, Samsung comes with TouchWiz UI over android, iPhone7 offers iOS whereas the Honor 8 comes with a very intuitive Emotion UI 4.1 over Android Marshmallow. EMUI is feature-rich and provides lot of other options over other UIs and have built in phone manager, harassment filters, traffic manager and various innovative messaging features that really outsmart other UI and their features.
[Verdict] Who Takes The Cake-
Based on various specifications related to hardware, software, battery, design, look and feel, performance, camera and reliability and keeping in mind the price for the large number of users in Indian market, the Honor 8 is an excellent high-end flagship smartphone. For the power users who do not wish to compromise on the performance, look and other aspects of the phone this device is premium yet priced reasonably. Battery life is good, the dual camera produces superior professional quality shots, the fingerprint scanner is excellent and works almost every time and with 32GB of storage and a microSD card slot, there’s plenty of space for apps, photos and music. I give a thumbs up to Honor 8 among the top four flagship phones.

But RAM Management is not good.
Some other Cons for Honor 8 are:
1. Many regions are not having Dual - SIM variant.
2. No FM Radio
3. EMUI Takes more time to release OS updates.
I too have the phone and I like it. But can you please stop with the unnecessary paid promotion now?? Have they really hired you to do all this? Comparison is fine but putting too much effort in your biased comparisons and declaring Honor 8 as the best phone ever is really spoiling the name.

The way you keep posting about honor 8 doesn't really abide to what you are saying. I have been seeing your posts on the honor community too. Stop with the false advertising Man!! It only tarnishes the image of the company.
Its good to like something and be a fan but what does a post like this indicate: "Honor 8 Arrives In India With A BIG Bang!!!"
Its done by either a blogger on his own site or is posted as a paid content on the official site.

Its everyone personal preferences that decides whether they needs the mobile or not. let us have healthy discussions saying the Pro's and Con's without targeting a specific person.

I can understand if one really gives his/her personal opinions. But let me first tell you why I am pissed (even though I bought the phone). Huawei royallu screwed up the the indian version of H8. No dual sim and highest price as compared to any other market. I can live with that as I don't have any other option. But you still see some hired people praising it with all their might and justifying the price with no reason to back it up. I would never have bought it over OP3 if I didin't get a flat 10% discount.
Moreover, do you think he has all the 3 phones to keep next to each other and compare? Or is it just a specs comparison? IS there even a single photo that looks like it has been taken by this guy to support the comparison? The answer is no.
Check this thread that he has been posting all over and show me even a single similar thread on XDA. And, I am not talking about news items here.

If its 25K and has Dual SIM compatibility, it would be the best.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Goog...ments-for-Daydream-compatible-devices_id87584
Bullet point:
"In regards to processing specs, Qualcomm has already confirmed that only the Snapdragon 821 is capable of supporting the Daydream platform. This goes against ZTE's claims that the Axon 7 would be able to work with Daydream with the Snapdragon 820 CPU, but we're inclined to believe Qualcomm over ZTE in this matter."
I'm red-in-the-face angry right now.
Here is a thread on ZTE forum:
https://community.zteusa.com/thread/12933
thats a reply of one of the zte members on the forum in the post
"It's great to see demand for Daydream as it is evident from the comments on this thread. Note that I provided an update on another Z-Community thread with our progress earlier, but I can provide an up-to-date summary of our development work on Daydream from this week.
First off, I'll summarize one of the points that ZTE made earlier. We have stated that we are working with Google on Daydream and plan to support it with Axon 7. I posted an update a few weeks back when we received the Daydream package from Google (note the package requires Android N). When ZTE is finished with integration, we send it back to Google for certification.
Now, for the update. We were successful in bringing up Daydream on Axon 7 for a functional demo. However, it is not complete. In part because of tuning that we need to do to optimize the experience, and also because Daydream itself is not final. There are changes to Daydream and also Android N (patches) that are being worked on, so we do not have a final version to integrate yet.
After Pixel launches Daydream we will have a final candidate and patches to integrate into Axon 7. Then, after we finish our tuning, it goes back for certification from Google. Then, we'll make an announcement and do a software update (including OTA for everyone that has already purchased on Axon 7)."

I think it's more so they "know" the 821 will work with Daydream without issue.
Well, I won't keep the Axon 7 if it is anything else than Daydream "ready". No "capable", "compatible" or whatever term they come up with to label it.
I bought it because I want to start developing my own Daydream apps and really can't afford anything more than €500 until I'm more confident of my skills (and sure as hell I won't be buying a Pixel, in Europe, at those prices. I might as well start developing for iOS, ffs).
Off it goes back to Amazon, will keep an eye for OnePlus big announcement this 15th and hope they will "daydream" their next device. If not, its back to the Moto X with a broken screen until someone comes forward with a phone worth purchasing.

No one really knows what "it" will be.
Apart from having a SD821, everything else has been based in conjecture. Even the $50~$80 price bump and the "3T" are based in speculation.

Or phonearena is full of it?
Is there a direct quote from Qualcomm regarding it?
Isn't the 821 only 10% more powerful then the 820? And other then that aren't they basically the same architecture with just a slightly higher power output? Also there's a Daydream development pack available for the Nexus 6P which uses an 810. Why would Daydream work on the 810 (although laggy) and not the 820?
Its all Google's work!!!
In my opinion, Its all Google"s work.....its one their ways to force the Pixel on us. Before the Pixel release its was generally understood that Daydream would work on phones with the Snapdragon 820 since it was being tested on the Nexus 6p......so google decided to change the requirement to 821, since the pixel is one of the only phones using it and thus most likely to get Daydream first......so if you want it early you now have to buy a Pixel or wait for it later........the current major delay of daydream is from google working with Quadcomm to come up with a way to make it on work on the Snapdragon 821 , there could be no other reason because the 821 is just a slightly faster 820

THIS
I believe it's likely that it's a marketing ploy by Google. By making their Pixel phones the only "official" Daydream phones they draw people away from other phones that are advertised as being "Daydream-Ready". Especially when you have phones like the Axon 7 being nearly half the price of the Pixel XL on the run up to Christmas. This combined with the fact that the Android Nougat update (required for Daydream) for the Axon 7 has been delayed until after Christmas it makes sense (AFAIK Google must certify the update before its rolled out?).
The 821 handles sensor data better which is useful for VR

If its true then just because it handles sensor data better than the 820, does not mean that the 820 is incompatible with Daydream.
According to the stats between the two CPU's on Qualcomm's own website the only real differences between the two are that the 821 has a slightly increased clock speed, is more power efficient and has Dual PDAF for camera's.

I have to dig a little deeper but I thought I remembered that the Snapdragon VR SDK gave hardware level access to sensors improving their response time. Among other things.
Edit:
ok so looks like the 820 is snapdragon VR sdk ready too:
https://developer.qualcomm.com/software/snapdragon-vr-sdk
Edit:
but I don't understand why sites like this say that the 821 is better than the 820 because it supports the VR SDK:
https://www.gizmotimes.com/comparison/snapdragon-821-vs-snapdragon-820/16403
Edit:
from here, talking about the article i posted above:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/phone-by-google/7fpvvc3TIdE
"The article that you linked has a lot of inaccurate information (like the CPU and GPU clock speeds, the fact that they are referring to it as having support for "two phase detectors" despite that not being how Dual Pixel PDAF works, the claim about Dual Pixel PDAF being new technology despite it being supported by the SGS7 and many DSLRs before that, etc.) and that bit is likely wrong as well. The Snapdragon VR reference device uses an S820. https://www.qualcomm.com/news/snapd...l-reality-snapdragon-vr820-reference-platform
The article was taking some of the newer features that Qualcomm is listing the S821 as supporting, and treating them as if only the S821 supports those features.
If it's not wrong, I'd like it confirmed. There is no confirmation in the article, the writer merely listed the feature set as detailed in the Snapdragon 821 press release and then speculated around the key differences."
I feel a little better now.

ZTE has already told that the phone will be Daydream ready, 1-2 updates after Nougat Update.
it does support vr
Hi guys would just like to let you guys know that I recieved the ztevr when I bought my axon as part of their roadshow promotion. The vr part of axon 7 works and the provided vr software uses a ZTE customised vrsense app at the moment and has movies games and stuff albeit limited (u guys don't even have access to it so it's not really public even though I'm public and besides the app is in Chinese,im on g version BTW and I didnt buy this in China). Not sure if it's hardware or unoptimised software but the phone does become very hot when using vr. The vr experience was otherwise really smooth apart from the slightly small fov of the ztevr.
So daydream wise I think it will be able, besides what other phone at 500 has specs like this with 2k and and can even run or have vr, even if eventually it isn't certified for daydream I would say it is good enough that it can run ZTE's vr. Beside I wouldn't put my hopes up as u westerners on oneplus, it's practically unknown in China whereas ZTE is one if the big few alongside Huawei vivo xiaomi and such so no idea why u ppl trust them cuz I wouldnt
ok, here are more news about Daydream for ZTE Axon 7 , meaning for all of us users

I have an update on our Daydream progress. ZTE has now shipped phones with the Daydream build to Google to start the certification process. There's issues that have already been identified but we have high confidence that we will be able to resolve them. In fact, I'd be happy to show some of the Z-Community members who have been very patient through the development process the opportunity to see the progress. I'd like to explore the possibility of getting together at the Consumer Electronic Show, for those that are planning to be in Las Vegas for the event that begins on January 5. If there is enough interest from this community, I'll arrange a time and place to get a Daydream demo from myself or a member of the ZTE team. We may have a better picture of the release date by then too.

DISCUSSION POINTS FROM CHENNAI MEET UP
Bold font refers to Honor official’s reply.
1. Charging times – Would be resolved on case by case basis if issues persists.
2. Selfie – Not satisfied with the quality. Compared to the previous generations of Honor smartphones, 8 pro front camera doesn’t impress. Beauty effects seem to bring in more of artificial tones to the face. Can it be tweaked by software?
It is just the matter of device driver tweaking. We can rework on that. Although the sensor generation might vary. We use either Isocell or Sony IMX sensors. Performance might vary. We are already firing bullets to the core team to unify and stabilize the selfie cam experience across all devices. We totally buy this point and it will improve soon.
3. EIS at 60fps / 4k – Can we expect an upgrade? Yes.
4. Heating issues – See point 18
5. Fingerprint recognition integration with pattern – FP goes well only with Pin or alphanumeric
character. Pattern lock can’t be coupled with FP. Especially in bright light conditions or whilst walking, when a memorized pattern is easier to enter than searching for specific areas of screen to enter the pin isn’t convenient.
Honor wasn’t aware of this. They will look into the possibility of pattern integration.
One user pointed out that we have option to “Increase readability in sunlight” under Developer
option as a solution for increasing legibility in bright outdoor conditions.
6. Knuckle gestures - Innovative thing but to an outsider it feels like someone beating and abusing their own device. Why not bring in shake gestures using motion sensors?
We will work on it for future devices.
7. Fingerprint sensor - Can’t gestures be included via the Fingerprint sensor like the Honor 8 had?
Swipe to pull down notification bar and browse photos works great. Would be good if more
options like double tap for screenshot or other shortcuts can be included via the fingerprint sensor. Honor 8 has a clickable sensor and lot of actions associated with it.
Would be taken across to the core team.
8. Double tap to wake up - With the fingerprint sensor located at the rear side of the device, it would be good to have the option of Double Tap to wake up the screen and to lock the screen as well. Most often than not, we receive notifications which do not need immediate attention. In that case, we can just Double tap, see the heads up and decide whether to take it or not.
Honor agreed to our suggestions and would implement it in future updates.
9. Difference between Huawei and Honor- Is there any superiority / inferiority?
It’s the same. Target group varies. Certain things are tested on Honor and certain things on Huawei. Huawei is having a premium position in global segment. Honor is purely a E brand with a E Commerce platform. The portfolio is different. Manufacturing and technical aspects are all shared.
10. Why Huawei P9 was priced so high when launched in India?
It is to keep in line with the Global pricing. 8 Pro and 6x are devices targeted at Indian market to establish a name to move forward. We constantly conduct surveys(and suggesting to HQ) to if it is spec sheet or value for money in a market that counts.
Another challenge is that in countries like Srilanka, Nepal, Middle East, Huawei brand is quite famous. So they illegally import devices. So it is necessary to maintain a balance.
Another key factor – We do not have different portfolio for different nations like other OEMs. We pick and choose what device can be moved into the Indian segment. We are educating the HQ that value for money matters more and in a heavy flow market like India, it won’t be possible to survive if we adopt some “spec sheet specific” sales strategy. Proposition is in the making.
In Indian market, Huawei isn’t being accepted as a consumer brand, even though most routers, switches and modems are manufactured by Huawei. So, we have decided that Honor would be the branding in which we will sell products operated by a E Commerce platform. We do however operate by this byline “Honor-powered by Huawei”.
11. Why in a market like India where data consumption in on the rise did Honor 8 get released with Single SIM and other global variants had dual SIM?
When we make a dual SIM mobile, on certain occasions we could not meet the SAR (specific absorption rate) criteria for Indian market. We need to do some RF adjustments, redesigning of PCB.
12. OIS capability –topic was around the ecosystem of EMUI vs other brands.
We have a closed Ecosystem and a tight integration (through Chipset – E Commerce – EMUI). Rest all OEMs are different because Qualcomm provides chipset to them and they build on it. So its easy for them to realize it. But for Huawei, it’s all in house.
13. When will we move to 7.1.2?
When a OS is ported, Qualcomm gives the base software integration (build) for other mobile manufacturers. So, they just add their own skin on top and fire the version to the user.
With Kirin being an in-house chipset, a lot of re-optimization needs to be done. Even Samsung’s Exynos variant takes some time due to the integration of base software module. So, we try to build an optimal layer where everything that a user needs is in working shape. The update would be released but takes time compared to other manufacturers due to this reason. Android O is expected for this device by end of this year.
14. Mi phones and Mi pads have a huge generation gap but still an old Mi pad runs on a latest MIUI version. So please do keep your EMUI updated across all devices. We find that MIUI is far better in terms of user allowable customizations.
We totally agree that we are lacking on that part and will improve on it.
15. In box accessories - To promote VR, you have given a VR headset within the box but if that could have been ignored and some other accessory like a USB Type C to micro USB or a
earphone had been included, it would be more value for money. Anyway, we can’t use the headset without a securing wrap around the head and is of no added value. Users couldn’t get a TG and Cover for long due to quantum of sales.
We agree. By august end we are relaunching our E Commerce platform and we plan to get all accessories.
16. UFS vs EMMC – Read write speeds using OTG are too low. App launches and system level read
/write speeds are not having big difference.
Real difficulty we face is that UFS availability. We announced with UFS and supply was short so we went into EMMC.
17. Why a single OTA update takes around 742Mb?
Although the visible user level interaction changes are only 3-4, there are loads of kernel tweaks, performance upgrades, optimization, security patches. The changelog / release notes runs up to 8 pages. Can’t be shared as it is confidential (but the stack was shown to us).
18. Does the 8 pages of changelog cover heating issues?
No, it doesn’t but we have received enough feedback and it will definitely be addressed in the
next patch.
19. Difference between Li-Ion and Li-Po
Li-Ion doesn’t offer stretch ability of the cell. Watt hour per liter is adjustable in Polymer battery. Manufacturing costs are high.
20. Private space drains a lot of battery
21. The themes factory is a very good addition to someone who loves customization. There are various options to choose from but upon applying some themes, we do not get notifications on the lock screen.
22. If we try to open a app by pressing the corresponding name underneath the icon, it doesn’t work. Apps can only be opened by pressing the icon itself. This is like a restricted freedom. Please incorporate a feature to open apps by pressing the name as well.
23. Allowance for more apps to be cloned like in MIUI
24. Although there is an option to lower screen resolution to save power, we do not get to know how it works, when it gets effective and to what extent. Can there be more granular control on choosing a specific resolution as per user needs?
25. Apart from bright light conditions and when a strong artificial light source being present, the auto brightness struggles in low / dim lit conditions. There is a lot of stutter and sometimes one has to strain to read under low light. The dynamic range scaling of the auto brightness function can be improved.
Will be looked into.
26. Call recording - why isn’t it integrated into the system?
It’s not legal to have it in the ROM. That’s what we know of.
27. OTA updates roll out
We do planning at a global level. Certain things will be replicated in the global software database, which is our baseline. We tend to see if the global scenario and priority of Indian users are in line and work on specific issues which need to be addressed.
OTA cycle is either a critical patch or a 1 / 3 months cycle. We will only decrease the cycle, never increase it as we plan to keep ROMs bug free. Security patches will come often.
The process of a OTA roll out takes around 1-2 weeks, depending on issues being addressed. We send it to 1-2% of the users and then collect data, bug reports, various logs. We then work on it (if need be) and then release it further to others in batches.
28. We have read online that Honor plans to abandon the lower end segment of mobile phones and plans to go head on with the likes of Apple. What can be expected ahead? Price segment being targeted?
Statement of President of Huawei is that we will start focusing on high end devices. He feels the profitability and value we can give is more on the high-end segment. It’s only the ultra-low end devices that might be ignored and not recent launches.
29. Next region for meet up? Depends on the interest group and quantity of response through the Google form. Most probably Bangalore.
30. Inconsistencies in Camera options /modes
• Some devices lack the option of SLOW MOTION capture. Most devices have it but some don't. A factory reset brings it back but for some it has taken away the option.
• The option of "Always On" flash is read as "Steady On" on some devices.
• When wide aperture mode is used with 2 or more people (separated by a short
distance) in focus, the separation background doesn’t get blurred off.
We will work on this and revert back soon.
31. Will display change from LCD to AMOLED
Will feature in future devices
32. Day Dream feature - Software based and if planned, it would be rolled out
33. Calculator app auto rotates - Point Taken
34. What will the future devices hold - There are 4 surprises awaiting. We are working on pressure sensor based video, knuckle and other innovations.
35. What will the next Mate device have that the CEO says it will be more powerful than the next Apple device – Infinity display (I said we know that, asked for some other insights but they refused to share).
36. Will it be available in Indian market? We will bring it in. If not the exact same product, a similar product for Indian market would be made available.
37. Exchange offer for existing 8 pro users when next mobile releases - It is in the plan. Will be incorporated in our E Commerce platform
38. Smart Unlock with Google doesn’t work – Mainly because in China, they have their own market and do not support Google apps. We will however, take this as a point for implementation.
Honor 6x users were satisfactory overall since it has matured over a period of 6 months. Most 8 pro users had one thing to say in common that they went 8 pro.
We also requested that the next Honor flagship should have a better aperture than 8 pro. With f/2.2 if this device can produce stunning quality images, if aperture is lowered in par with other phones (1.7 is there on most flagships). Only a nod received saying “it will follow”. We will only have to wait and see.
Survey and Marketing - Honor hosts a closed room meeting to analyze and discuss what are the most important aspects of a device that user would want. They have a survey months prior launch, gather insights, understand user’s perception and work on that to come to a conclusion. Top 3 things from that goes into the marketing focus.
Honor India had requested Amazon to give free prime membership for users who purchase 8 Pro but Amazon had turned it down.
A lot of surprises awaits the community before this Diwali.
They asked us to share snaps clicked through the device. We suggested to implement a HASH TAG kind of system that One Plus does to be posted on Instagram and with the quality of this camera the reach would be certain. Would be an incentive driven program.
The UI is not so user friendly as of now and will be reworked by the end of this year.:fingers-crossed:
Damn. I am really excited reading all this. I am really looking forward to the heating issue being solved in future and camera quality to be increased in future.

With a budget of $750, if you can wait, then get the Nothing Phone (2).
I would definitely pick the Nothing Phone (1) over Pixel 6A. I see no value in Pixel phones, except for their cameras, and may be also for Graphene OS. I have explained my reasons here.
Since neither camera nor custom ROMs/ root are your requirements, you can definitely choose the Nothing Phone (1). Or even better if you can wait for 2. Or S23 FE if it launches.

We know that a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Likewise, the AI is only as good as the worst person involved in programming it. Although they must have built several checks along the way, it can still never be perfect.
The team involved MUST BE from diverse backgrounds, diverse societies/ communities, and diverse locations too. If not, it is impossible to create a product that will serve everyone. Every community has their own biases, norms as to what is acceptable and what isn't, etc. and to create a product that serves everyone is indeed a very big challenge.

I cant say anything bad about the NP1 and i would suggest it all day.
Anyway you get the Pixel 6a for around 325€ on Amazon and it has a better camera.
I recently upgraded to the Pixel 7 Pro from the Nothing Phone 1 not because i dont like the NP1.
