I can get it in download mode, but it doesnt stay long enough to flash stock in Odin. Vol up/down, plug in, green screen comes on (WarningCustom OS can cause critical problems... some (presumably) Chinese writting below it), vol up to continue, download mode starts, and less than 10 seconds later, reboots.
Any ideas?
I rooted with Magisk, earlier this year. Went out and got the new firmware and let Magisk work its magic... moved file to the folder with the BL and CSC files, flashed and soft brick.

Sorry I missed this message. Yes, I leave it plugged in overnight. It only stays in download mode for a few seconds, then reboots.

And I know the exact reason why. I was doing a backup with TWRP and I activated the compression. Eventually, the phone stopped, the LED turned red and since then I'm unable to either boot the phone, go in bootloader or anything, HOWEVER, I was able to have the download mode show up (with power-volup/voldown) however, I don't know of any tool that would allow me to do anything in download mode.
So... why are my options? I bought the N4 when it became available in the US/Canada back in November 14th.
EDIT: I have to add that the phone was really hot to touch, so I guess it crashed due to the temperature. I kind of think adding compression didn't help.
Well, I'm on the phone with em and I guess I gonna get a replacement... For everybody tempted to select compression, please don't do it.
Hmm, I ran a compressed backup in TWRP the other day, guess I was lucky not to brick it
Did notice the battery running down pretty fast during the backup (2% per minute or so), won't be compressing it on future backups!
Leave it plugged in & undisturbed during the night, try to boot up the next day. You should theoretically be able to boot again.
If you can put the phone in download mode how is it a hard brick?
Leave the phone on the charger overnight then try it.
Or you can try and unscrew the back and reset the battery.
Or you can go without a phone while they send you an RMA.

Fastboot is vol dn + power. And being plugged in does not prevent fastboot mode as long as you give it a second to start charging after powering down.

For kicks, I tried this morning and still didn't boot. So, I guess I just fried the mainboard/CPU.
One thing to note, my phone was encrypted too. I guess the need to decrypt/encrypt the backup while compressing killed it with hotness

I did all that. Google had me do for 60s the voldown+power. Only when plugged in, I could make it, once in a while get it in download mode. And I could see the Google logo when trying to get into fastboot and it crashed with the LED flashing red. It is dead, Jim.
Ok, it's been about 5 hours now and I have gotten no where with this phone.
My wife was complaining about her S5 being too slow. Trying to squeeze the life out of her phone for just a couple of more months, I thought that installing Lineage OS would give the old phone a good speed boost.
I got as far as getting TWRP to boot, but other than that the phone was in a boot loop. So I gave up and downloaded the latest factory odin flash. It's the T-mobile variant (SM-G900T) and I made sure to get the right image. I flashed it using Odin3 v3.12.
The problem is that after flashing the factory image, the phone is still in a boot loop. Now I can't even get into recovery holding power + vol up + home. I can still get into download mode.
I am at a lost right now. I promised my wife that I would have her phone working by the morning, and we can't really afford to get her a new phone right now. Please help if you can.
You have two options:
1. Either get into recovery and do a factory reset. Just try to hold Vol+, Power and Home long enough.
2. Or flash a factory low_ship firmware from download mode via Odin. It will erase everything.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5WdcBhSEt-_MW15TS14UmlzbzA/view?usp=sharing
Will keep it for a while there.
There are 4 files, be sure to put them to appropriate slots in Odin.

The factory low ship firmware did not work. It is still stuck in a boot loop. I'm getting a feeling that the phone is done for.
Have you applied 4 files in Odin?
The first boot may take up to 15 minutes so be patient.

Yes, I applied all 4. When the phone rebooted it said it was entering recovery, but after 30 seconds it restarts and continues to boot loop. I am not even able to enter recovery by holding vol up and home when it powers on.

It's normal after low_ship firmware that it enters recovery and reboots again.
But what do you mean by "boot loop"?
The phone must continue to boot, you should see the logo for rather a long time and a blue LED light.
Just wait for 15 min.

It never enters recovery, it reboots before that happens.
Hello guys,
A day ago I decided to root my Huawei P10 lite. I unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP. Everything worked fine. However I was unable to root my phone so I tried to lock bootloader. Thats where my problem started.... I locked bootloader via ADB and then it said the phone will reboot and factory reset. Phone was rebooted but now its ,,stucked" on huawei logo screen and nothing happens.... I just let phone to discharge and when I try to turn it on its still get to the logo screen and nothing. Always when I try to turn phone off it keeps turning on to the logo screen and Im unable to go to recovery or safe mode because button combination dont work. I cant even connect it to the PC via the USB cable....
Any ideas how to fix it (if its even possible) would be much apreciated.
Thanks a lot guys.
So, even you if you mounted the /system partition read-write it gets modified and the signature breaks that's why your phone no longer boots.
Try following: shutdown the phone if you can, press volume down and at the same time plug in the USB cable and unlock the bootloader, then flash the latest firmware for the device using the HwOTA method:

Thats the problem, the phone cant be shut downed by the ,,official" way (hold power button) because it instatly power on after two seconds... Only way how to completely shut down is let the phone discharge.... Anyway when I try to shut down the phone and then instatly press volume down I always get to the logo screen then I get black screen (looks like its trying to do something) and then the phone reboots and again get logo screen... It looks like the phone is gone for good lol

EDIT
It worked as you said (holding volume down + USB) and phone booted successfully but then appeared shutting down possibly due to low battery... I will keep trying. So thank you very much, you saved my day lol.
Allright, the phone is gone for good... Whenever I try your trick (volume down + USB) the phone boot up to the OS but then always shut down because of low battery. I tried to charge the battery but it seems like its not charging at all... Got phone on charger for three hours now and still red LED diod shows low battery.... I think this thread can be closed and I will bring the phone to the service center and see if they can fix this or not. Again thanks for the help.
Try to charge it when is in bootloop or that's what you tried?

Yeah, now I have it on charger for 5 hours, got huawei logo on screen and red LED diod flashing... Strange thing is the phone is not heating anymore, even charger is cold... When I un-plug the charger the phone shut down in like 5 minutes... When its on charger its not turnning off so I assuming there must be some power coming through the charger to phone then...
This Huawei P10 Lite is quite strange piece of electronic.... Its just booted itself on its own and actually its working just fine... What would you recommend to do, now? battery is charging right now at 16%

Hi. Browsed for ages and always come here for answers.
Here's my problem.
2x S8s. SM-950f.
Updated to most recent software through software update. Both phones were glitchy and crashing and just generally irritating after.
Factory data reset etc. This did not resolve the problems, also led to one of them having issues with FRP (annoying)
Used Odin to try and flash the latest firmware (from sammobile, UK BTU) after flashing both, they reset and powered on. Got stuck at the S8 screen.
Restarted then both were at the "an error occurred during update" screen.
Managed to get back to download screen. Re checked the software and model numbers, even that the bootloader was the correct version etc. All was fine.
Connected to Odin, shows that it is connected, but nothing happens when clicking start.
Now after attempting that, both phones will not power on.
(One will when placed on the wireless charger, but just sticks at S8 screen) and download mode or reset screen can not be accessed. So, not exactly happy. And totally out of ideas
Any suggestions, beyond taking it to a shop to see if anyone can help.
yes .....dont tuch the phones for 24 hours let the battery die ...it will...connect to pc and then try download mode....u may need to press combination for like 1 minute to get to download mode....flash twrp reboot directly into it when odin says successfully .....wipe system data ....dont turn on phone download any custom rom flash and enjoy.....it will trip knox but worth than getting a new board....
Okay, will give that a try.
TWRP?
TWRP install
https://dl.twrp.me/dreamlte/twrp-3.2.3-0-dreamlte.img.tar.html: Download link for twrp SM-G950F (dreamlte)
Just said, wait until your device powers off due battery insufficience. Plug cable and hold at the same moment vol(down)+bixby+power. Then press vol(up) at the warning screen to proceed to odin mode. Let it charging a while like 1 h. Then unplug it and plug it to your pc. In Odin select ap the previous downloaded file. Take your mobile in your hand. With one hand, prepare your fingers to vol(up)+bixby and with the other hand start the flashibg process. Be careful, and take your hand directly from the mouse if you clicked start in odin, and position your one finger to power button, but dont click. If odin start pass, press immidiately the buttons (vol(up)+bixby+power) and let it to start into recovery. If you arrived to recovery, reply to us if not search for help!!!
Good luck
memreb
Still trying to get them on. Powered on to download mode but only for a couple of seconds and switched off again.
Can't get them to power on. Buggered

Okay, downloaded TWRP, can get phone calls nected to Odin but when I extract TWRP it doesn't give a valid file type.
Am I being dumb.
No files appear that Odin will recognise.
Also just shows as "recovery" no .tar or anything
Ignore above. Corrupted download.
Sorted.
Now when flashing TWRP is gets to a fail due to
"Complete (write) fail

Not sure what stage your at and maybe some more useless ideas
1. Trying to flash twrp is kinda of useless if you can't get into your system need oem unlock for that.
2. Have you tried taking out Sim card and SD card and reboot.
3. If you can at least boot try smart switch as it has a emergency recovery option.
4. Trying rebooting in safe mode.
All been attempted
I am at a loss here. After almost 2 years of working flawlessly, my s5e won't boot.
The screen got frozen while using anydesk, and had to force a restart (power button + up and fown volume buttons).
I can see the Samsung logo for less than a second, and then it switches off. Without touching anything, after some seconds the same thing happens.
I tried charching it and similar behaviour: i see charging circle for less than a second, and off again.
I AM AT A LOSS.
I managed to boot it pressing power+volume_up buttons and this is what i see (attached). It can stay like that for a long time so I guess battery and it's connection to the tablet are fine.
PLEASE ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY WELCOME
UPDATE:
I have tried MANY things in the 6 hours since I wrote this post. I am able to put the tablet in download mode and ODIN (and my PC) recognizes it. I am able to flash VBMETA but now TWRP (fail).
At some point the tablet rebooted in normal mode (why?) but got frozen again and had to reboot it.
Anyone can point me to how to recover it? I don't mind right now to loose what is in the internal memory.
Did you try to hard reboot (power_button + volume_down ) for more than 9 seconds.
If did not work then you may have to charge the phone? If its fully charged try to flash stock rom using Odin. When your device does not boot that means the stock firmware is corrupted and needs to be flashed again. That happened to me before and now my phone is working fine. Wanna know how to flash it? Look it up online!

Twrp is installed but I'm unable to boot to it.
Any more ideas?

It just loads the screen attached in my first post.
Try flash via Odin, it still in download mode with this warning.
The tablet was still covered by warranty so I called the seller and they took it to a Samsung repair store. They replaced the motherboard, so I guess it was not recoverable.
The bad news is that they updated to android 11, I was quite happy with old 9.0 because I had TWRP and Magisk working.
Thank you for all that tried to help.
