Hello,
Has anyone experienced this issue. When ever I open the android market I lose all data connectivity. The H+ goes from blue to gray and the up/down stream arrows flash periodicly from gray to black. After I close the app anything that requires data does not work. Sometimes it will take 10-40 minutes to regain data. Sometimes it will come back after a reboot. I talked with at&t tech support and they couldn't get the issue fixed. I can't get a replacement due to I bought it off ebay. Also if I downgrade the market app data comes back, but there is no way to keep the market from updating back to the new market, or at lease I dont know how to do it. Just seeing what my options are before getting a replaement. I am running the pudding Official at&t firmware. I did update the radio to the newest radio to see if that would fix it, but no dice. Thanks in advance for any help.
If you search around you'll see this is a known problem. Which version of market do you have? 3.0.27 has this problem, but I hear there is a newer version starting to show up that fixes this problem.
Forgot to mention market version. It is 3.0.27. When I spoke to tech support the rep said they never heard of this issue. I searched around and saw other data loss issues, but didnt see one specific to the market. Thanks for the heads up. Does anyone one know when the new market will be available?

This issue has been around for a while. Google knows about it and are working on the permanent fix.
AT&T are the wrong people to go to with software issues unless it directly relates to one of their apps or a Motorola app. (Even then they will most likely direct you to someone else).
I submitted this as a bug report some time ago, and Google responded letting me know they were looking at the problem. Version 3.0.27 is 90% stable for me. I do not lose data with it nearly as much as I used to, and putting the phone into airplane mode and then back out usually fixes it for me, and then the Market works fine again.
If you want to use the old Market do the following:
1. Settings > applications > manage applications > all > select Market > uninstall updates
2. Using TiBU or another file explorer freeze Market Updater
go the android apps and games section of xda. they have a 3.1.3 in there. might have better luck. if anything roll back to the old market. (also available in that part of the forum)
i have focus sim unlocked on att. i don't have any problem in installing apps from market place but i am not getting auto updates for apps. when i search for any app that i already installed , apps that are having updates it shows up and when i click update it updates. but itz painful and time consuming in searching for the updates that i already installed. do any one having similar issue? if there is a solution for this please leave a post. thanks in advance
I'm also having this issue and need help for a solution as well!!
The explanation is simple: the available bandwidth is the same while the number of phones and app checks has increased.
So, this not actually an issue, this happens. If you're mainly using 3G connection, this is to be expected.
3G connection is sensibly slower than WiFi and the number of apps has gone past 30k, thus some checks will time out.
It is recommended that you use USB/WiFi connection to sync from time to tome to prevent this happening very often.
I doubt that's the problem.
My girlfriend also has a Samsung Focus (updated to mango), and we have some of the same apps/games...when one has an update on her phone the marketplace tile alerts her, but mine doesn't show anything unless I search for the app in the market and check it, then it tells me there's an update, not sure what to do.
definitely a big issue... it has been a month since my marketplace has stopped showing any app update already. The updates are there when I manually search for it. It was fine for the past 9 months until now.
Weird thing is both my girlfriend and me are using unbranded Optimus 7, same carrier, same account/phone settings. but she keeps getting new update alert almost everyday, which I did not, even for the same apps.
Tried connected via 3d/wifi/usb all day long, tried guessing and uninstalling app which maybe conflicting, etc... none helped.
anybody else find a fix yet? please share
Still no luck...
Maybe its because I did the force update to Mango (my girlfriend didn't to that and hers works fine) so I have a bad feeling it was because of that, and no one seems to have a solution. I've reset my phone, re-installed apps, etc.
Hello everyone,
I seem to be having a very annoying Google Services Wakelock on my Nexus 4 Device.
It is using more battery power than the screen, and keeps teh phone alive 100% of the time.
I'm on PA 3.97 - 4.2.2 Android.
Better Battery Stats tells me under Partial Wakelocks that SystemUpdateService Is keeping the phone alive, as well as under Kernel Wakelock PowerManagerService.
I'm wondering what I can do about this. Because it is really eating my battery life. Google tried to update to 4.3 over and over again, which wasn't possible because I was on a custom rom. So it kept redownloading it and I was forced to disable the update system (I don't exactly remember how I did it, but since I have root I disabled UpdateReciever under updates somehow).
I hope we can find a way to fix this.
Bump! Still need a solution

You're getting the wakelock because you disabled the update service.
The only solution is to either enable it , and lose data, or update to 4.3

We are literally talking about 20 000$ + of Data usage if I were to leave it on for a month.
Unless google wants to pay me that money every month I'd rather not have the update service on. Not to mentionhow much constant Data streams to download a file over and over again would drain teh battery.
Also, doesn't everyone with PA (3.97) who hasn't updated to 4.3 have this. I'm on a custom ROM so I shouldn't be forced to update to 4.3 anyways!
How come the battery is a wakelock when I entirely Disabled the service?
What other google services should I disable to make it stop entirely from even trying to update?

That thread is about another Google Services Wakelock that has to do with the GPS. I never had that location setting on.
Mine has to do with it trying to update, thus keepiçng the device on, although the update service is actually disabled(since it doesn't actually download data).
Does anyone know how to completely disable the google update service in every way possible since that is what keeps my wakelock on.
I have absolutely no issue like you, i`am on 4.3 stock with stock kernel and no continious syncing going on bro and the cpu going into deep sleep without issues. Try reflashing to stock to see if the issue still excists.

That's because the issue has to do with ParanoidAndroid having a bug that it picks up the Stock 4.3 updates, downloads them and then fails to install them. I am on a 4.2.2 ROM, 4.3 of course won't have that issue since that is what it is trying to download. Also I really just want to keep this version of Paranoid Android.
So what I tried doing was disable the Google update service entirely a few weeks ago. And it has stopped trying to download any updates.
However, the past few days that same Google Update (which should be completely disabled) is still keeping my phone a alive, although not downloading anything anymore. I just wnat a way to completely just permanently kill the Update Process.

Hi
To avoid this bug: don't pull out the charger or usb cable whit out to wake up the phone, be sure the screen is on when you pull out. If you pull out with screen off powermanagerservice.wakelock will keep your phone to never enter deep sleep.
A reboot also solves the problem
Think this bug is related to the wireless charger bug.

Ok, I guess that will already stop 1/2 wakelocks.
The other one has to do with the update service still keeping my device awake although it was disabled with disable service.
I think I was finally able to fix the issue!
I downloaded AutoRun Manager and disabled
com.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService$Reciever, which can be found under Google Services Framework,
I already had updates disabled using "Disable Service" app from Google Play Store, which did the job for stopping Data Usage, but there was still an idle process keeping the phone awake, which was the SystemUpdateServiceReciever.
I am on Paranoid Android and might want to Update to 4.3 due to them making continious new cool features which will only work for 4.3.
First off, I would like to ask if the update to 4.3 was worth the effort for you. It doesn't really seem to be a significant update on the side on the google dev team. Secondly, how would I go about doing it?
I am now on PA 3.69 - 4.22 which is one of the latest versions before the 4.3 update.
What do I need to do before I am able to flash 3.99 PA - 4.3? How do I avoid losing my appdata, my pictures and all that?
I paid for Titamiumbackup a few months ago but I don't really know how to use it and I'm a little scared to update to a different version number as I have never done that before, and I don't want to brick my phone.
What radios do I need to flash before being able to update to 4.3 based custom roms?

I'm on PA 3.99 with BaNkS GAPPS, which I highly recommend because of the size and stripped way they are. I think TitaniumBackup had some problems with PA and root, but I'm not sure if they already fixed those.
You need latest radio and bootloader to update, I think the easiest way to do this is to make a factory reset, full clean and wipe all data and then back to 4.2.2 stock ROM. Then update through OTA and you would have latest radio and bootloader. Install custom recovery and then flash latest PA.
I did it this way and I don't have any kind of problems.
:good:

i am facing the same problem too. Running 4.2.2 (sentinel rom 4.75). google services is draining a good 30% of my battery.
so disabling using AutoRun Manager managed to solve the wakelock problem due to SystemUpdateService? i used Disable Service app to stop the data usage, but wakelock remains.

Yes, exactly that. Disable service disabled. That stopped My data usage (luckily before the cap of My data plan, if I would have phone higher it would probably have costed me a few hundred dollars.).
The Google services drain remained and after about 10 hours of research I found I found out the receiver was still trying to download it, but didn't get access which caused a wake lock. In auto run manager search Google services framework and disable the googleupdatereciever and nothing else, keep everything disabled that is already disabled

Thanks for sharing the solution! helped me on 4.1.2 after disabling only some of google's receivers/services with "Google Services Framework" in Rom toolbox
Better battery FTW!

Sorry if this is a grave dig, but I never recall paying for anything to be quite honest.
All apps were free.
This may not be the right place to ask but I figured with the amount of knowledge in this forum, I would have a better chance in solving my issue here than if I posted on the ZTE forum
I have an A2017U and run the MagicJack app but sometimes I notice that after I leave the phone set for a while I have to relaunch the app. I have gone in settings and disabled "Scheduled background wake-up" and "Allow deep sleep" which I assume shuts down programs when the phone in idle for a long time... lol I'm new to these settings ... came from an old Galaxy S3 still running KitKat lol. I still have issues with the app being seemingly shut down.
I don't have any apps that "clean/auto-close apps" such as a memory manager or things like that. It may be the MagicJack app itself crashing or something but I have never seen any messages and it seems fine unless the phone is idle for a while.
If anyone can think of something I can try .. or maybe an app that will make sure an app stays running all the time .. I'm all ears.
just a note... I'm not rooted. The phone is only a month old and I don't want to lose my warranty by unlocking the bootloader before I'm sure that the phone is going to continue to function properly and I'm pretty sure that the other method of rooting with the bootloader still locked doesn't allow updates and I want Nougat when comes out. If I am wrong about this let me know ... I would love to have this phone rooted... I miss some of the programs I used on my Galaxy.
Also .. This may be Marshmallow or the MJ app but on my Galaxy when I went to recent apps and cleared it the MJ app would start itself again but it doesn't on the Axon
(edit) discovered the lock icon so MJ doesn't get shut down when I select "clear all" in the recent apps
Thanks in advance for your time

Thanks for the reply but it seems that I'm missing something. I can't find Mi-Assistant on the Axon 7 and when i find it on google it gives me the install option but says no eligible devices available so it seems tat Mi-Assistant can't even be installed on the Axon 7
I don't have a ZTE phone, but I've got a similar problem to the OP's with the MagicJack app on various of my Android phones.
On my OLD phones that run ICS and such, the MJ app runs and runs and runs, and the MJ phone number is always active pretty much no matter what.
But on my newer Android 6 or better phones, the app is constantly dying any time after the screen is turned off...as in no app mini icon in the status bar and won't ring or accept incoming calls unless I then manually re-launch the app.
I've tried checking all the power conserve setting in the OS to ensure that the MJ app isn't being turned off by them, but that hasn't made any difference thus far. It's really annoying, and I have no idea what's causing it or how to keep the app alive.

It's normal that you don't have it lol, Mi-Assistant is only on the A2017 (luckily, because it is utter crap :silly: ).
I believe the problem is the app. From some version of Android (I think it was 5) the apps need to have a notification open all the time to actually not get closed. Maybe it hasn't been updated since long ago. What does it do?
My father had his noise-cancelling mic broken on a MotoG after a fall. The solution was to switch to speakerphone. I used an app called SoundAbout to monitor if there's a call going on, and it switches to speaker. But it needs to display a notification all the time. you can simply block it through the notif manager though
Hello,
I am in a really bad spot atm, I first updated my BS2 Pro (DLT-H0) to the MQ0 they rolled out some time ago to try out Android 10 and JOYUI 11...
But this is messed up, network issues (i need to reload web pages multiple times on my browser to load them), I can't download anything from the phone due to these network issues, the phone overheats A LOT, battery life is miserable, phone calls crashing, etc...
Then MQ1 rolled out and I thought it would be a good idea to update in order to fix the phone call thing.... Oh man that was a bad idea, now any background app is killed after ~2 minutes, I can't use Spotify, Deezer or any fitness app, this is ridiculous.
I went through some posts on the forum but did not find anything that worked. I downloaded the MP2 ROM to reset it with OTA, but they changed the OTA UI and when I click on "Local update" nothing happens at all despite the file being in the right location.
I sent a mail to their support but eh... They even deleted their forums so I guess I will not get any answer
Does anyone know how I can downgrade to the Android 9 ROMs ?
Thanks a lot !
Oh, and a reminder : DO NOT UPDATE TO MQ0 OR MQ1 IF YOU WANT A PHONE IN HEALTHY CONDITIONS
