Hi guys,
can you suggest me a ggod application in order to use my S4 as a generic/configurable infrared command? (TV, Hi Fi....)
Is it possible to receive command from a generic/configurabel infrared command to the S4?
i.e.: if I connect my S4 to the TV and I install XBMC on S4.... is there a chance to command the XBMC running on S4 with an infrared remote?

The IR as far as I am aware the IR port in the S4 is only a blaster not a receiver so it lacks the 'learn' function unless you know the remote code for the device then you can use something like 'Smart Remote' to create a new remote control of your liking. As for XBMC, you can use some remote software like 'Unified Remote' to control you XBMC server via TCPIP
Use galaxy s4 universal remote on play store. I think it's the best app

I just unlocked and rooted my X. I intend on installing busybox and xposed to get the phone to be as close to a custom rom as possible without ever installing a new rom.
What are the best modules/apps to have? I came from CM 11 so quick reply and certain toggles are a must for me.
Don't be shy flash kangakat is the best rom for our x

On the moto tether.. I could find the string in my build.prop
GravityBox is pretty much all you need.. the rest are extras..
I also use Minminguard, greenify, appoppsXposed and some others..
As already stated definitely get gravity box, it's simply awesome!
For the quick reply look at 8sms in the play Store. AFAIK it's the CM messaging app.

Do you happen to know where that would be? I always like knowing what I'm actually changing.
Titanium Backup Pro.
ES File Explorer (or any decent root file explorer).
I use many of the above, but I stumbled on....energy bar.....one day. It should be on the must have list for everyone.
Xposed Installer (with GravityBox and Moto Tether modules), Tasker, Titanium Backup, Root Explorer.
Tasker + AutoVoice + Google Search API module + Touchless Control was one of the reason that made me interested in this device and it's working great.

I always install X-Privacy.

Can you tell a little more about this cocktail with Tasker, Autovoice, search API and touch less control; it sounds interesting.

Google Search API allow you to say AutoVoice commands using Google Search (Touchless Control), instead of using AutoVoice's separate voice recognization. So you can say AutoVoice commands using Touchless Control anytime.
Attached are some Tasker's AutoVoice profiles. Copy the xml files into /sdcard/tasker/profiles/. Tap on the Profiles tab in Tasker to import them. You also need to:
Install Xposed Framework and Google Search API modules. Open Google Search API app and make sure it recognize AutoVoice in the PLUGINS tab. (If it doesn't see AutoVoice, uninstall and reinstall AutoVoice.)
Install AutoVoice and buy AutoVoice Pro.
For my flashlight commands, also install TeslaLED.
For my GPS commands, also install Secure Settings for Tasker.
Make sure all the profiles are enabled and working in Tasker, then try saying these commands using Touchless Control: enable led, disable led, enable gps, disable gps, system lock.
The thing with AutoVoice is that the dev split his apps into too many pieces that you have to install and buy, filling up theapp drawer, sometimes it's more complicated than necessary. I would use a different app once there is more unified and user friendly alternative, like Motorola's Touchless Control, except Google Search doesn't let you control the hardware of the phone, probably due to patents.
My infrared remote control apps have stopped working since I switched to Beanstalk. Is there a way to fix this?

Two options: 1. Revert to stock, or 2. install Anymote from the Play Store to control your devices.
The IR blaster and the camera use proprietary firmware from Samsung that ROMs built from source cannot include. In the case of the IR blaster, the lack of AOSP drivers means the IR blaster doesn't work at all unless using an app like Anymote, which has its own libraries. For the camera, whether it works or not depends on the software you use. The AOSP camera has a couple software filters like HDR that don't work. The Google camera may crash the camera firmware so badly that a reboot is required to restore it. There are alternatives available on the Play Store that don't have either problem, like Camera MX.
EDIT: If you've tried Anymote and it doesn't work, something else is wrong. Reverting to stock and testing the stock IR blaster software should tell you whether you have a hardware problem, or if it's software related.
Thanks for the reply. I will give AnyMote a shot. I really don't want to go back to stock rom.
Hello, looks like s3 neo does not have miracst support (GT-I9301I). Even if I install the miracast shortcut from google play, doing scan yields nothing. Seems like something is missing - stupid samsung, how could they disable such basic feature in this nice phone?
Anybody knows any way to enable miracast screen sharing?
P.S. prefer to use stock ROM
Just for info, on CM 12/12.1 works almost flawlessly, you just cannot start it from quick settings, I need to go from settings every time. So if not working on stock it is software issue.
Hello
Wanted to know what would be the
best remote app for One Plus 5
best audio recorder app for One Plus 5
For remotes, I am using Unified Remote right now, bought it already, and it is OK.
Also, wanted to know if there is a remote app which will control my tablet from my phone (both android)
thanks
