YouTube keeps closing itself - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hello,
So I have had this issue for a pretty long time, but now I really get bothered by it since I also pay for YouTube Premium.
What I have tried so far:
- Factory reset via settings
- Deleted app data (cache, etc.)
- Uninstalled and reinstalled YouTube
- Downloaded the latest version available with Frija and flashed with Odin
The issue occurs very random. For example, if I watch a 10 minute YouTube video nothing strange happens. But if the next video is 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour, doesn't really matter the issue occurs.
It closes the YouTube app, just goes to the home button. Screen and the touchscreen also has been replaced by my insurance company.
Please help me.

I forgot to mention a little bit of more history.
I also had issues with connectivity (sometimes I didn't have reach, could not call, couldn't been called and 4G didn't work either). I went to the Samsung store in Rotterdam, and theey immediately said that the motherboard needed to be replaaced. The first time I sent the phone to the insurance company, I had broken glass (screen, and back of the phone) and the phone returned with this being repaired. I still had the YouTube issue and the connectivity issues.
Second time I told them that I had again a broken screen (this time with the touchscreen also not functioning, like totally dead screen), but no back glass damage. I still sometimes had issues with connectivity and have told them this.
The phone arrived yesterday with again repaired screen. I haven't had the time to test the connectivity issues since this YouTube issue alone is already frustrating me.
I think I am going to the Samsung store and ask if it is included in my warranty. If not, I will try to fix the YouTube issue myself. But if the connectivity issue still occurs I will send it again to my insurance company.
Is there a handy app or software solution to test the connectivity and or motherboard?

Can't undo what's been done. If the future always use a good case. It protects the outside, and inside. High G impacts can damage the mobo. BGA chipsets are vulnerable and impossible to inspect for damage for all practical purposes.
My Note 10+ has taken about half a dozen 2-4 foot drops onto concrete in it's Bolt case with zero damage.
-//-
Make sure all power management is disabled as this will cause erratic behavior. It may be a 3rd party app. Try using the factory load versions before updating for system and 3rd party apps.
Roll back to factory version if needed.
Use Device Care>memory to see what apks are on top right after a crash. It may give you a clue to the cause.

The phone currently is empty. Like there are no third party apps. I will bring the phone to Samsung Service Center tomorrow and see if they will renew the motherboard.

Touchscreen Controlling Itself

I picked up my Nexus 7 about a half hour ago, woke it up and all of the sudden it started clicking things on its own. I wasn't even touching the screen at all. I had to lock the device for it to stop doing it, and after waking it back up the touchscreen was twonky. I would touch, but it wouldn't register until like the 3rd click. I restarted the device and its fine again.
I have the screen separation issue, though its not bad and doesnt bother me so I havent considered sending it back. But now that it has a mind of its own, its kind of freaking me out. I am unable to replicate it so far and I can't find anybody on these forums who has the same problem. Any ideas what is going on?

So it's a hardware issue and I should get it replaced?
I had the same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago.
After waking it up from sleep it started touching itself.
I restarted the device and it hasn't happened since.
Hope I don't have to return it.
My god! IT'S ALIVE!

I had the same thing happen on Saturday. There were odd solid white line outlines around the icons as well. I had to force it to power off and restart it. It's been okay since.
Ken
I too experienced the issue. I can replicate the issue by running "Gallery" app, select an album, set it on Slide Show mode. Within 15 mins or so, it will start malfunctioning.
I've discovered how to reproduce the problem on my tablet:
1. Put the tablet to sleep by closing smart cover or using a magnet
2. Plug in wall charger
3. Open the smart cover and the touchscreen malfunctions
The screen does not malfunction when I put the device to sleep by pressing the power button and insert the charger.
Can anyone else confirm this happens to them or is it just me?
My nexus7 is controlling itself after 10 mins of playing a game... this is nuts?
EDIT:
Really PI$$ED off now. Travelled to the shop where I bought it. Told them they said "they have to see the problem" I sit there for 25 minutes playing a game, google earth...anything to create this problem.
NOTHING.
get back home!! gusss what? stupid tablet is controlling itself again! OMG this crap is annoying.
edit: I sold the nexus. It had a fault on the screen. I paid £70 and managed to get £80 for it so am happy with that at least
Same issue!! Is someone remotely hacking in??
I have seen the exact same issue on mine. Weird and very worrying. Have seen apps being opened and pages being scrolled. Has only happened twice in the past few weeks (that I have noticed). Have checked firewall logs on my home network, but unfortunately my ISP has made the UI more 'user friendly' even in advance mode so can't get any actually useful information from the logs (though I don't have any port forwarding active). My only guess is that it is therefore:
A) Random HW/SW issue - seems unlikely, but possible I guess
B) Some nefarious app giving external access (all apps from Play Store though)
Will try and get a video of it next time to put on Youtube nad have installed the logcat app (though to be honest I don't really know how to use it).
Anyone else seen this or have any suggestions on what to do?

May I ask. Have you used a case that has a magnet that may have touched the screen? I theorized that this may have happened to mine because right where the magnet clipped the case is right where fault started. When i touched the screen just on the edge in that spot it started going crazy.
So I sold as faulty

Hi - I have briefly (only use it when travelling and have it in a bag to protect it from knocks and scrapes), but the case was never around when the screen has been off doing it's own thing....so I would be surprised if there was a link between a small magnet being near it a few times and a recurrent fault of some kind.

I read somebody else used a case with a magnet and thought that slight chance that it could've caused the fault. I know on the one I had I could instantly recreate the problem by touching in that place a few times. perhaps just a coincidence?

My device has a similar issue randomly. Detects inputs that aren't there. Most of the time it is one prolonged input. Sleep then wake and problem solved. I don't know if I have the screen seperation issue or not. My device is only two weeks old and has never seen a magnet before.

Bought 4 Nexus 7's for the family for Christmas and one unit had this issue. Read up about it before returning it the next day. Apparently it's a problem with the digitizer (I think that was what the hardware piece was called). Basically made the N7 unusable because it'd detect other "ghost" touches. Especially annoying when trying to unlock the device. Long story short, the unit was returned to Staples and replaced with a new one. So if you're is still under the "new buy" warranty I'd definitely try for a replacement.

Ditto, + 1 here and my ex-N7 16GB WiFi unit was from local Staples, 1 of 2 "open-box" ones that they had in stock, no wonder manager was "kind" enough to approve a 10% discount for it, hmmm - SOB quite possibly knew it was a problem unit returned by another customer & just wanted to pass it on. It had 4.1.2 loaded and intially, the OTA upgrade to 4.2 seemed to make things better (false.)
It was horrible with the sluggish & un-responsive touchscreen and even unlocking, especially bad over time as I had managed to unlock the bootloader & root it to load custom Rom. It's as if the hardware had a keylogger installed and/or was hacked remotely, trying to take over the tablet and typing its own command as I input gmail account info & password - freaking mad crazy, to the point as others said, I started checking the wireless router's firewall & security logs, etc. for signs of breach, etc. and even release the DHCP to get a new external IP on our Fios link. Disabling WiFi seemed to at least "calm" it down but made the device useless. GPS radio/receiver also seemed to be defective. To make a long story short, it has been returned to Staple as we are within the holidays/14 days technology product return & exchange timeframe - and, of course, all 16GB WiFi models are out of stock everywhere - ended up paying the difference & traded up to a 32GB WiFi model - S/N beginning with "CAO"s and has 4.1.2 on it
Noticed the immediate difference - this one is perfect and no hardware issues whatsoever - and so far so good and with all the issues cited about 4.2 - staying with 4.1.2 for now by disabling the fraemwork, etc. to stop the annoying OTA upgrade reminder. Unlocked & rooted, tweaked it with the goodies & Flash Player 11.x loaded with Chrome browser removed, this is what a N7 should be like.
I have had a similar issue twice. I was reading a webpage when all of a sudden a pop up appears asking where I want to send it to, then it gives me a list eg. Dropbox , email, etc. I never press anything and I didn't even know what wanted to be sent lol. Hopefully its nothing serious.

Note 4 screen locking up intermittently

Hi all
[Originally posted this in the Verizon Note 4 forum accidentally, so apologies if you've seen it already]
My Note 4 screen has started locking up (i.e. continuing to work in the background and the screen is still responding to system events (SMS notifications etc) but it is not responding to touch.
I have tried several factory resets, after which the screen stays responsive for about 3 or 4 pages, then locks up again.
Background: the phone was rooted about a year ago, to get around the SD card restriction, and has worked fine up until the last week. I gave the phone to a friend who put CWM-based recovery manager and the latest Samsung Android 5.1.1 on it. After setting the phone up successfully and downloading all my apps on to it and getting everything running perfectly, I used CWM to back up the OS image onto the SD card.
Phone worked great for about a day, then started freezing. Wiping the caches / restoring / factory resets and all permutations of these have so far proved ineffective...
I took the phone in to a repair shop last night, the guy reckoned the problem was down to a poor screen replacement, and they hadn't used the correct bonding cement, and that the screen had separated from the LCD such that capacitance couldn't do its thing.
However if this were the case, the screen would not work at all, even briefly after a system reset.
The repairer is simply dismantling and rebuilding the phone to see if it's a loose/dirty connector somewhere. He's not going to try to fix it with firmware/software.
Any pointers or suggestions gratefully received
Vaughan
I was getting stutters like this, and after a month my phone started shutting down when I hit 50% or so. I replaced the battery off eBay, and that cleared the problem up. I think sine quickcharge 2.0 batteries fail faster than they should, but a Sammy battery is only $6.50 or so, so I don't mind buying one more often fir the quickcharge benefits.
Maybe try a new battery?
Samsung original screen replacements always come with AMOLED+Touchscreen.
If the guy only replaced the touchscreen you have a fake one and yeah i don't need to tell you about chinese replica's quality.
I myself work at a smartphone repair shop and we only use original products to get the best quality for our customers. It's more expensive that way i know but thats better than putting sh*t in there ands the customer needs to come back with the phone.

Thanks for that Mr Cherry..
So it's the dodgy glass doing it? It's definitely not the genuine Samsung part as it gets covered in grease as soon as you touch it.
The weird thing is, if it was the glass then I'd assume it wouldn't work at all; whereas when I do a factory reset it works for a short while then stops...
Baffling.

Nexus 6P screen no responsive, is it hardware or software?

Hey guys, so a few months ago I dropped my phone and the screen cracked, and I had a local repair place replace the screen for me. Well, the other day, my screen decided to no longer respond to touch but the phone is working fine besides that. (Oddly, when I first turn the phone off and back on, the screen will respond for a few minutes before no longer working.) I took the phone in the place that repaired the screen (they have a lifetime warranty) and they said that they put a new screen on and it still didn't work, so it wasn't the screen and suggested that it was a software issue. I factory reset my phone, and still have the same issue. A few questions:
1. Are they lying?
2. If not, if it's another piece of hardware, will Google warranty the phone since it's within a year, even though the screen has been replaced?
3. I've searched online to see if anyone else has had this problem, and nothing seems to be related to hardware, is it possible that it's software and if so, how do I fix it?
Thanks!

I would go to dev options and enable pointer location, and see if the information is what it should be.
Could be a grounding issue, the n5x has this issue while charging, the fingerprint required more pressure too.
Backup your ROM and flash Google's image,

Yes, I currently work for a cellular services company and it's the one that we constantly recommend because we hear good reviews from customers about them.

Volume UP button not working, ran out of ideas... HELP PLEASE!

Out of nowhere the Volume UP button stopped working. I can't recall anything I did recently (no new software or drops) that could have triggered this. I tried restarting a few times, using smart manager to clean, safe mode, and they all didn't work. I couldn't wipe partition cache because I can't even get into that menu with the Volume up button not working.
Any other ideas?

If something is not working on my phone, I'm going back to the shop where I bought it...
A factory reset didn't solve the issue. I ended up going to my nearby Samsung store for them to send it out for repair. They estimated 2 weeks and I had to give a $100 deposit to borrow a 5 year old android phone running android 4.2. To top it off, I heard the customer behind me start yelling and crying because they still had her phone after 1.5 months. This sucks.
Just to conclude this issue, Samsung returned my phone in 3 days! Very impressed with the service. They ended up replacing a part internally, removing my front and rear screen protectors in the process. There weren't any additional signs of wear or opening up the phone. I did ask about my waterproofing after this repair, and the store salesman said the "gore-tex" rubber is still intact and so is the warranty. I didn't bother with asking him to clarify the "gore-tex" part... it's been 3 days and it has been running as it should. I figure i'll test the waterproofing later.

Please note, the phone is not waterproof, it is water resistant, that makes a huge difference, so if your phone gets water damage, it does not need to be covered by the warranty.

Ghost touchscreen

Screen responds to 'touches' you didn't actually make - like, there is a ghost touching your screen
oh, well i dont know how to fix that sorry. But maybe you touched the edge of the screen accidentally?
i have the same problem for about a week now! did you find any fixes?
me too
Me to. I have tried every possible solution. Eventually whole screen has been replaced on warranty.
No guys i dont find any solution. And now? How we can resolve it?

replacing the display is the only solution
i have the same problem, ghost touches in the upper side, near clock.. specially when phone is hot or i press the top of the phone
Im so angry ??? bc we have this phone not usable!!
It's a hardware failure. Faulty display. If you suffer from "ghost touches" you should back up the data you want to keep, and return your Device to where you have bought it from as it might still fall under warranty (depends op what the cause is, and where you live). This can also get worse over time making the screen partially unusable (which was in my case). contact the seller, or contact customer service from Xiaomi.
I suffered ghost touches at the beginning of December (owned the Device for at least a month). Tried every software options i found around internet that could resolve it, but it was to no avail. I proceeded to unlocking the bootloader, install TWRP, flash a custom rom... For a couple of days i was fine. After those few days the top part of the screen (the part with the status bar) rendered unusable, on custom rom and stock miui. Tested it and it seemed that the area increased and also decreased from now and then, which is strange. After contacting my seller they agreed on sending it back including screenshot and the tests i ran. 1 day after they received my device they contacted me to say that it cannot be fixed (or at least they didn't seem to bother as the phone's pricerange is low) and i am receiving a complete new one (this was in the weekend btw). After that weekend on monday i received the new one and it's running better then ever, even the fingerprint is much faster.
Now just as a warning, I don't say you still have warranty. i live in the Netherlands where unlocking, rooting and all that does not void warranty, and returning a product is very easy to do. But in other parts of the world the companies can screw you over so you'll have to check that.
For those who are asking what is it, juste have a look at mine in dev mode to show the touch : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZApYI9otJI
This happens to me only when I'm charging the phone, still annoying, , I think it's something to do with the voltage and could be fixed with a software update.
