AllWinner T3-P1 brick/dead - Android Head-Units

good evening .
after a fail update the head unit power on and black screen , can i somehow wake it up?
maybe have some way to recovery it with pc?
its was mcu v:T3L.3.19-100-501-A49311-210322-ts(MM030)
android 9 -v8.1.1_20210430.162039_theme1.

how to starty update with brick black screen?

Firmware download V8.1.1-20211022
1) Unzip the file first, open the folder, and get the detailed firmware file
2) Copy the file to an empty U disk (there is no folder in the U disk), insert the U disk into the machine 6pin usb
3) Ground the square control wire (key1 or key2) on the power cord, press the RST button of the machine to restart the machine, and disconnect the ground after the update appears

I have an allwinner quad-core t3 p1, it's supposed to be Android 9 but one of the device info apps I had downloaded said it was 8.1(fake 9). I was trying to update to Android 10 and something happens during the update and now I only have a blank screen. It turns on and the screen comes on but it's blank. I tried doing what you explained up above, but it did not work for mine. When I plug in a flash drive to the USB the light on the flash drive only comes on for a second. How can I fix it?

Unbrick guide for Lenovo YT3-850F (Hardbrick Solution)

A bit of background: I got the tablet a day ago and successfully rooted and installed TWRP..... and then went ahead and installed the wrong firmware update and my device was totally useless. NO DISPLAY, NO RESPONSE WHEN THE POWER BUTTON OR ANY OTHER BUTTON WAS PRESSED. At first the tab didn't even get recognized as even a device by the PC. So all the signs of a total HARDBRICK
Caution: Before performing this keep your device connected to the wall for about 2 hours so that the battery charges a bit.
Now for the solution:
DOWNLOAD ALL FOLDERS FROM THE MEGA.nz LINK BEFORE PROCEEDING.
Step:1: Install all (.inf) files from the Drivers folder. (If any of the drivers don't install, then disable driver signature re-enforcement in Windows)
Step:2: Install QPST from QFIL folder.
Step:4: Navigate to C:\Program Files x86\Qualcomm\QPST\bin\ and open the program QFIL.exe
Step:5: Goto Control Panel and open Device Manager and expand the Ports tab and keep an eye on it.
Step:6: Make sure device is off by holding down the power key for about 10 seconds. While holding down vol up and down keys connect the USB cable to the tab and the PC and wait till the PC makes a device connection sound or the tablet pops up in Ports tab of Device Manager.
Step:7: Make sure the new port that pops up is a HS-USB QDloader 9008 (port X) Make note of the port number "X".
Step:8: The new port should also appear on top QFIL program. (make sure the port number matches)
Step:9: Select Flat Build; Press Browse on Programmer Path and point towards "prog_emmc_firehose_8909_ddr.mbn" in Firmware folder ; Press and point Load XML to "rawprogram0.xml" and then "patch0.xml".
Step:10: Finally take a deep breath and and press Download and keep an eye on the status area and wait for it to say "Successful flash" (or sth like that I forgot... lol) The flash should take about 5 minutes or so.
Step:11: Disconnect the USB port and then reconnect wait a while the screen should light up. Wait a few minutes and then press and hold the power button till the tab boots up.
And there you have it.

P.S.: I know this sounds really stupid, but I was panicking while finding this solution and went through a lot of pages and stitched together this. As a result I do not remember who and who to thank. So please if anyone reading this finds that I am using something from you or copying your work please comment below I will add you to the credits list.

Hope this helps I'm very new to this. So forgive any mistakes.
realmente funcionó, solo una aclaracion hay que hacer testpoint en la board donde dice force boot y 1.5-1.8v a eso entra en qhusb_bulk, si va al caso que no funcione boton vol+ y -

ROM / Firmware/ Brick Recovery for 7" Android Head Unit AC8227l YT9217 YT9218 1/16GB
Thanks everyone who contributed in my effort to fix my bricked device. Here is all that I have found useful in successfully reviving my device.
The files shared here are the ones that worked on my unit (see specs and pictures below) If your device is different, it may or may not work.
If the device has dedicated radio chip inside, the Firmware number will show as YT9218, if no radio chip, then it will show as YT9217
Note: if your device is not bricked, Make a full backup before trying another firmware.
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )

Memory Dump Procedure via flashtool:
(Memory dump is only needed if you need full recovery from a backup. Otherwise you may only need to do the next part.)
Download and install MTK drivers. (Link)
Load scatter file and preloader (Link) in spflashtool. Press Ctrl Alt V , then go to Window and select "write memory". In file path select "user", in begin address put 0x0, In Region select the partition named "EMMC_USER". Hit Write memory. After that plug in the usb cable (connected to usb1 port). If the device is not detected, you need to power it on. If still not detected then you might need to short the two test points (see picture) (without power this time) and then plug in the usb cable. Remove the short when write process starts. Check if the issue is fixed. If its not fixed, then do the same to write boot2 and boot1 partitions as well. You may need to download Boot_1 specific to your original firmware from the link above.
Uploading Firmware (full or parts) via flashtool:
If you are uploading the firmware available in parts, you only need to upload "BOOTIMG" and "ANDROID" (SYSTEM).
You may also need to flash "RECOVERY". Remember to uncheck the preloader. Here is a nice instructions file. (Link) (thanks Maxkir)
There is more info and firmwares to chose from at 4pda forum.
Update / Upgrade Procedure via USB flash drive:
Copy the zip file (do not extract) to usb drive or microSD card, (formatted by SD Card Formatter). Connect to usb port 1 or 2. Go to Car Settings, System info. Click Android Upgrade.
--OR--
Extract the zip into a folder named XYAUTOUPG into the flash drive or microSD card, connect to usb port 1 or 2 and then reboot. Upgrade should start automatically. You might need to try with different USB drives or sd cards. For some reason this only works with certain usb and cards.
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )
MCU Upgrade Procedure via USB flash drive:
Extract the mcu file into flash drive or microSD card. Connect to usb port 1 or 2. Go into system info and update mcu.
Make a Full Backup/Memory Dump:
Open SPFlashtool, Select Memory Test Tab, Select only RAM Test (uncheck the rest), push start, and connect the unit. Save the information appeared, in a text file for later. (Read above "Memory dump procedure" for the usb connection setup).
Now go to ReadBack Tab, Double click on empty space next to tick mark, Select a folder where you want to store the dump file, and Type a name for the dump file you are going to creat, (ie. Boot_1, Boot_2, USER). Click Save. In next window "Readback block start address", select the region you want to make backup of (ie. EMMC_BOOT_1, EMMC_BOOT_2, EMMC_USER).
Start address is 0x0000000000000000
Length copy and paste from the text file you created earlier.
typically for Boot_1 and 2 the length is 0x0000000000400000
and for USER (16GB models) the length is 0x00000003a8000000
Click OK.
Now click on Readback and then connect the unit via usb cable. and Read process will start.
Do the same to make backup of all three partions. USER will take long time because its the largest partition.

install as normal. You may need to install GalaPublicResources. Click top right dots.
I hope it helps. (donations are always welcome )
Multi Window Mode:
Go to root folder, look for build.prop. Open in text editor. Change the line ro.build.type=user to ro.build.type=userdebug.
If no such line is there, then simply add the line at the end. Save and exit. Go to Android settings, Developer options, look for multi window mode and enable it. Swipe down from the top of the window, Click on recent apps tile. You'll see the new multi window option there.
Subwoofer output Pin:
The default AUX_out pins are for mid range audio and is controlled by Mid slider in the mixer. The subwoofer output is on another pin (See Picture).
it is easy to remove one of the AUX_out pin and install it at the Sub output. this pin is controlled by Subw slider in the audio mixer.

All relevant info about ROMs and flashing you can find in top header of this russian forum.
Look at the spoilers in the gray header layer and use Google translate to understand what is written there.
There are 3 ROM versions for the 8227L based head units. I downloaded and installed the oldest of the 3 (rooted and TWRP IMG included). Copy all files from the RAR to a flashdrive in root folder.
Turn off the head unit.
Connect the flashdrive to USB 1 slot of the head unit.
Turn on the the head unit.
The install process starts immediately after turning on.
It takes about 10 minutes.
When install process is ready, turn off the head unit.
Detach the flashdrive.
Turn on the head unit and it will boot with factory settings like a new device....
Note that there are also ROMs for flashing wit MTC flash tool downloadable.
But the versions for installing from USB sticks ( po russki - dla flashky) are more comfortable to install and I don't own a Windows pc. So this variant was my favorite method...
Regards and good luck...
Edit: if your unRAR program asks for a password for unpacking the RAR file, then use Eazy unRAR app from Playstore on your Android device - it ignores password lock in RAR file ...
Edit2: the 5th gray spoiler in the top header of the Russian forum hosts the links to the ROM RAR files...
The USB flash drive method didn't work for me, Device doesn't detect USB while booting up. I tried everything, connecting the test points, pushing reset button etc. to no avail.
SP flash tool does seem to work, I have tried uploading several available roms, only these three uploaded successfully,
full_8227L_demo-userdebug 6.0 MRA58K 1534513814 test-keys
Заводская прошивка под флештул от 09.11.2018 UI1 с переводом
20181224 TWRP ROOT перевод и эквалайзер от ноябрьской
but didn't turn on the device. Device turns on but I get a black (backlit) screen. What else is there to try?

If you can connect a PC to headunit and flashed a ROM with TWRP, may be you can use adb reboot recovery and clear data and cache via TWRP?

No luck with adb either.
seems like my only option is if I could get the exact ROM for this device and flash it. The seller was less than helpful, so Aliexpress refunded me in full.

Thanks for that, wow the memory dump is massive more than 4Gb! Did you use format and download or just download in the Flash tool? Do you know the files the scatter file took from the memory dump? So, you didn't use any files from the first download where you took the scatter file from? I'm still having a problem connecting to my PC may have to use the hardware forced (testpoint) method!
You need usb male to male cable, attach it to usb1 on the device. but not yet connect to pc. Run the sp flash tool. and select the correct scatter file. Then run which ever function you need. after that connect the usb cable to pc while connecting these two test points (picture) with a small piece of wire to each other. After it is recognised and operation starts, you can release the jumper wire.

Thanks, when I use the scatter file from the first download and put it with the files in the second download it only picks up the preloader file nothing else?
Hi, Scatter file is only needed to make sp flash tool recognise the partition table on the device. no need to download anything via scatter file. press Ctrl Alt V , then go to Window and select "write memory". Set start address to 0x00 Use this to write Boot_1 , Boot_2 and User, to EMMC_Boot_1, EMMC_Boot_2 and EMMC_User respectivly. thats it.
I hope it helps.

SP Tools YT9216C Not Working

I have been trying for months to install a new ROM with the help of amazing XDA users such as @gouster3 @viktorsaari @Blefish YT9216B_00002_V004_20191012_HIFI_V3.zip on my head unit and not getting very far. I am hoping someone has had similar trouble to me and can assist. I think the breakdown is something to do with SP Tools and the drivers.
I have installed the recommended drivers from MediaTek SP Drivers v2.0 signed.zip, installed the cdc-acm.inf via device manager and the preloader driver.
Attempted Flashing Process
Installed Signed Drivers
Reboot
Open SP Tools (administrator permissions)
Select Download-Agent MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin from ATC_Flash_Tool folder
Select Scatter-loading File AC8227L_Android_scatter.txt from Firmware folder
Select BOOTIMG RECOVERY ANDROID
Click Download
Plug into USB Port 1
Reboot the HU
It just boots like usual, with the android logo. No activity in SP tools. Nothing downloaded, no flash progress at all. I am running Windows 10 64 Bit.
Other Methods
• XYAUTOUPG method with an SD Card and USB stick (been mentioned in another thread that this doesn't work with YT9216s)
• Android Upgrade is greyed out in settings
Cable Methods
• Purchased a Male A to A cable 4 Pin
• Home Made Cable
USB Ports
• USB 1
• USB 2
Rebooting
• Disconnected the battery
• Reboot with the reset button
• Reboot via car 'settings'
• Boot into recovery via Terminal
Windows Systems
• Laptop (Win 10 64 Bit)
• Desktop (Win 10 64 Bit)
Threads Exhausted
• ROM / Firmware/ Brick Recovery for 7" Android Head Unit AC8227l YT9217 YT9218 1/16GB
• [ROM] [ROOT] [TWRP] [GUIDE] YT9216B Chinese Android Head Unit
Developer Settings
• OEM Unlocked
• USB Debugging
• MTP Enabled
OK finally fixed. It was the USB cable that was faulty
Glad you got it working. Note for others, I had to take out the SD card on my HU, for some reason I could not flash it properly when it was inserted.

Hi brother am happy you were able to solve the problem.
I have similar configuration. See this...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-firmware-android-vers6-t4003935/post82805913
I am interested in taking a full system backup using SP FLASH tool. But I have tried almost everything you did but my SP FLASH TOOL doesn't detect it. However, MTK DROID TOOL detected it. Also it is detected as adb device not com port.
What am I doing wrong. Should I be in fastboot mode or switch off mode. I tried with normal ON condition.
Can you explain the complete process
@Smarty_009 if you can connect via adb, why not backup from adb?
I would trust that over a system dump from SPtools....seems so finicky.
BTW, I assume you are trying this with the unit disconnected from power...I lost mind before trying that.

Hey. Thanks for your advice bro.
I tried with unit totally disconnected. Only usb connected to desktop. But com port appeared and disconnected immediately repeatedly in device manager. So I connected the head unit to car power supply and kept the car off so that only 12V supply and ground will be available and acc will be 0V. But it didn't detected at all. So I switched on the head unit and in factory settings changed between host and device alternatively then for short time it was shown in device manager but disconnected again.
So I can't use Sp FLASH TOOL.
Well I didn't knew that full system backup is possible from adb.
I will search on google.
If you have any details please help. Adb is working so I will do that.

That's ok. We all get in to this once at least. Even I have done it many times. Without messing around you won't learn new things. I read your post what you did to your system.

Well if you saw my post then you saw that I was able to push an image only AFTER shorting the test pins. Pics attached for 3 MB designs (9216,17,18)
If you wanna do a quick test, try a "Readback" first.

I have been trying for months to install a new ROM with the help of amazing XDA users such as @gouster3 @viktorsaari @Blefish YT9216B_00002_V004_20191012_HIFI_V3.zip on my head unit and not getting very far. I am hoping someone has had similar trouble to me and can assist. I think the breakdown is something to do with SP Tools and the drivers.
I have installed the recommended drivers from MediaTek SP Drivers v2.0 signed.zip, installed the cdc-acm.inf via device manager and the preloader driver.
Attempted Flashing Process
Installed Signed Drivers
Reboot
Open SP Tools (administrator permissions)
Select Download-Agent MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin from ATC_Flash_Tool folder
Select Scatter-loading File AC8227L_Android_scatter.txt from Firmware folder
Select BOOTIMG RECOVERY ANDROID
Click Download
Plug into USB Port 1
Reboot the HU
It just boots like usual, with the android logo. No activity in SP tools. Nothing downloaded, no flash progress at all. I am running Windows 10 64 Bit.

Hi I have made a video tutorial on how to make stock ROM backup
Mod edit: inaccurate video link.removed.
Hi friends,
Have you are observed overheating of touch panel of your car stereo or hangs in your Android car stereo or system not responding or application keep crashing etc.
Then this video is for you. I have done this small modification in my car.
I made a small hole on sides of AC vents such that cool air blows over the heat sink of Android car stereo and two cpu fans of 12V take power supply from same connector.
Whenever the car stereo is turned ON the fans also turn ON and blow cool air over the heat sink to keep it cool.
Hi I have made a updated video tutorial with added info on how to make stock ROM backup.

Help for flash with USB-Key YT9216B Chinese Android Head Unit

Good morning all.
I'm trying to flash my firmware but it doesn't work.
I tried more configuration for the usb reader: reader or host but the result is the same.
I reboot with the small reset button and a wooden pick.
here are the pictures of my process:
1: I format the USB-KEY
2: I choose the Firmware and EXTRACT in the USB-KEY
3: I take out the XYAUTO-UPDATE.bin file from the XYAUTOPG file and I put it in the ROOT of USB-KEY.
4: I put the USB-KEY in the reader and I do RESET with the wooden pick.
I get the rebbot but no change to programming the HU and the HU turns on normally then
sets the time ...
5: when I place my USB-KEY in my PC I check the USB-KEY and I see the files "LOST.DIR and Android"?
Can you help me please
I try to redo the firmware of this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/android-head-units/everything-yt9216b-t4007063
My pc does not recognize the HU when I connect the usb cable A-A, I don't know why, nothing happens,
then I cannot do the procedure indicated with ATC Flash-tool...
I d'ont remember if there is an USB 4 pin or an USB 6 pin behind the unit, does it matter?
I've been looking for a week on this forum as well as the Russian forum and I can't find the solution

You just have to boot the os with the usb stick(ota zip file and XYAUTO-UPDATE.bin) inserted. It will reboot spontaneously and install the new firmware. You don't have to use the reset.
I wanted to use the pc with spflashtool to upgrade the firmware to android go 9. I don't know if this is possible, cause my device only has 1 gb of ram. I do know if you want to use spflashtool(under download options select both checksums), you have to set it on download, connect the usb and press the reset button. it will start flashing at boot of the device.
A lot of parsing errors, so time for upgrading the firmware.
*edit: systempartition of android 8.1 go seems to be 1.5GB, so the 1200MB of android 9.1 go could very well fit with the 'Download only'-mode.
*edit2: to answer the original poster, there is this topic with a rooted, twrp real android 8.1 rom.
The way to install it is to use spflashtool, connect it through usb with the radio and flash the new rom. So first you have to install the usb drivers(driving signing turned off), then you have to run spflashtool, pick the scatterfile from the rom, and either choose 'wipe and download' or 'upgrade'. Then you select download, the spflashtool vagues, then you have to connect the usb with the radio usb. It should install without the radio turning on. So the radio can be left without power connection.
Just, there might be differences between the yt9216b and yt9216c revisions.

I have this unit also and am trying to get the touch screen to respond. has anyone verified the manufacturer? I'd like to just reload the system. I've done computer repair since the mid-90s but avoided android and IOS devices until now so I am now looking for open-source tool recommendations preferably tools that can be run off of a pc or laptop. any help or tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
I was able to get root on this, extract attached zip to root of flash drive (fat32 format is required) and attach it to the 4pin USB. Then short the F1 pin (next to the wifi antenna - see attached image to ground. You can also check the pin maps on the device for F1. Once you have it grounded, just reboot the device and it should flash twrp to the unit. Once you have twrp flashed, install terminal emulator and type "reboot recovery" and it should start twrp after which you can install magisk for root.
This files were tested on 1gb/16gb version from 4PDA.
I managed to kill all the gapps on my device and now android auto doesn't work with the ZLink app. If anyone can share the twrp back up of system apps folder.
Thanks for the guide, will try soon.
Did anyone share the system folder with you?

Do you have the layout of what you used to root your headunit?
Yes, here's my layout.
There is only one male connector that corresponds to the picture by WW3.

Ok so I unplugged everything had the tweezers on the 2 pins plugged the power and USB plug back in and where do I go after that?
For 10 seconds? It didn't work the first time for me? Is the Flashdrive Fat32? Did you transfer the files to the flash drive? It should start automatically, follow the instructions to the letter.

Did you unplug anything? Yes the flash drive is formatted
Yes, everything unplugged.
Then connect the two pins with the tweezer, then insert the USB cable with your flash drive in it, then insert the power cable while still holding the tweezer in place and continue to hold it for atleast 10 seconds after you have inserted the power cable. Hope that helps.
Ok...I must be connecting the wrong 2 pins
