Looking to replace the display on my 7T Pro McLaren. Does the McLaren use the same display assembly as the 7T Pro? Thanks.
Once you replace the screen, the FP scanner will no longer work. And changing the screen yourself voids their very limited warranty -- long story short, you'll have to pay them approx $250 for a FP recalibration (which consists of a OnePlus tech spending TWO Minutes using a proprietary tool) if you want everything to be exactly like new.
However, you can follow the thread on how to fix the FP scanner due to corruption in persist, and that should get it working again. The only downside is that for the FP scanner to work, the bootloader has to stay unlocked. If you relock the bootloader, or even run the MSM tool to "restore" everything (which also relocks the BL), the FP scanner will stop working.
So I'd definitely recommend trying the instructions to fix persist after you've installed the new screen. Just be sure to make a backup of your original persist before doing anything!
As to answer your question yes a 7T Pro screen will work fine on a 7T Pro McLaren and vice-versa. They use identical screens.

Just to let you know, my week old tegra note 7 developed touchscreen issues:
After 20 or 30 minutes use the touchscreen both develops unresponsive areas (on stylus and/or finger) and eventually starts triggering random window opening and becomes unusable until left to cool off for a while, restart not necessary.
I'm sure it's a hardware issue as I have restored previous functioning twrp images, also restored a stock rom with user data davlik cache clear.. same problem, it is very interesting to utilize the developer options of "pointer location" or/and show touches as it makes it easy to see exactly what a faulty touchscreen Is reporting! no wonder random windows/menus would start opeining!!
P.S Unfortunately I've rooted the device so may not be able to get a warranty replacement I've searched and so far not found a method for restoring an original non voided bootloader for these devices.. I did however notice some interesting progress for the tegra 3 series though, where someone had worked out how to backup the original bootloader before rooting and then restore it after rooting, so there is hope..... if any devs here want to pursue that for the note 7 here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927818

If you have the latest version installed, you might get lucky. The bootloader doesn't really say your warranty is voided anymore, so if all the repair center does is reboot to the bootloader and check there they won't see anything.
Perhaps they have some internal tool to check that however, in that case you might no be so lucky. At least you could try to relock the bootloader before sending it off, as well as calling the manufacturer and ask them whether the hardware is still covered by warranty.
seems mine is an older version and still has the bootloader warranty voided message. the customer support was very professional when I phoned and they approved me sending back for replacement (but I didn't mention the message)#!
I'm hoping that they'll either not check bootloader or realise this is a straightforward hardware error and replace it anyway.
Hi all.
Recently I have bought a X720 device. I have tried to add a new fingerprint (EUI OS) and the system returns an error after a low vibration (not a crash, something like "you have to erase your fingerprint first" but there is no fingerprint added). I'm trying with LineageOS and it doesn't work neither (something like "fingerprint cannot be added, try again or use another finger").
What can I do?
I really apreciate any help.
1. Where did you buy the phone?
2. Did you take a video of yourself unboxing the phone and testing out the different features for warranty purposes? If you didn't, that was your first mistake if the fingerprint didn't work on Day 1.
3. This is probably a hardware issue that you should have gotten on camera the moment it occurred. If you bought your device from LeEco U.S., you might be covered under a warranty. Banggood/Geekbuying/AliExpress/etc? Good luck trying to get them to take back the phone....
Always always ALWAYS document issues with a phone you imported from overseas or Chinese phones. A lot of them are produced quickly with cheap components and no quality checking or assurances.
1. Banggood
2. No
3. Could be. Exactly, the message is "fingerprint can't be stored, please remove an existing fingerprint". Is there a location where the fingerprints are stored? In the configuration panel there is no option to erase any fingerprint.
Thanks anyway

Flash all the ROMs and factory images you can EXCEPT 26s (or whatever the x720 equivalent is) to see if the issue is prevalent across all ROMs. Also use sensor-detection apps to see if anything is detected and use logcat to dump your logs here.
It certainly sounds like a hardware issue to me. You should have contacted Banggood the moment the issue came up, instead of rooting the phone....
Hello. Even though this mistake came to me. Are you solved?
Hello everyone.
Well, as stated in the title I really had a week of ****. It started with the theft of my Samsung S7 edge.I am really disgusted
As I really like this phone and the price is interesting now and having a TWRP backup on a USB key I've bought another S7 edge thinking that I could easily reinstall my backup TWRP of my missing phone with all my very valuable data and programs. Unfortunately for now it's total failure. I could actually reinstall my backup but impossible to enter into the phone. I had put after the boot the security by fingerprint plus pin code for the phone and neither function. I am absolutely sure of my pin code, I always use the same but the phone answers me incorrect pin and my fingerprints are not recognized. :crying::crying::crying: I mean that the phone for the first reboot does not accept the fingerprint asks me the code and does not accept it. I tried to flash fingerprint wakeup to be able to use the fingerprint after the first boot but it is even worse the phone say that the fingerprint does not work and that I have to try again later. I specify that I tried the fingerprint with the phone I bought used before installing my backup and that it works properly. In your opinion, is there a way out of this inextricable situation? Is it possible to bypass the fingerprint? Or another solution to recover my data and my programs? Thank you to those who will take the time to read me and to those who will answer me if there are any :fingers-crossed:
I ordered my X6 on Lazada last January. It runs the global version for Nokia 6.1 plus OS. It was TA-1099 the same with its box but after upgrading to Pie, it changed into TA-1083 but all were good until after a few months. I have read a FB post about how to boost your cellphone signal and I was curious so I tried it. It was in the developer options. After doing that, I noticed that my fingerprint is no longer working so I checked my screen lock and the fingerprint option is no longer there. I tried to hard reset it once but to no avail.
In October, I had the charging port replaced in Glorietta 2, the official repair center of Nokia. I asked them to re-flash the Global OS for 6.1 plus if possible. The fingerprint option in the screen lock is still not there after collecting the phone.
Can someone please help me. I want to use the fingerprint. Thank you in advance.
Just got this, and it upgraded me to oos 11. Fingerprint doesn't work well, though I have a screen protector. Seemed to work ok before the upgrade. Trying to figure out what to do. Of course, I don't know which info here is up to date. Normally I'll ditch the stock os, but oos is actually pretty good and customizable enough. I'd still like root, and would like the option to try out a ROM and go back to stock if needed. I'm sim unlocked currently, not sure if the bootloader is unlocked (though I assume not since I got an otan upgrade). What's the best course of action. Bonus points if I can do a reasonable backup without root (or root and then backup)
Did you try simply deleting your fingerprint(s) and re-creating them? Also, try it without the screen protector, especially if it's not the original screen protector from the manufacturer (when programming new fingerprints and when using FP)
You don't have any issues with persist.img (or anything else) or the FP sensor wouldn't work at all (you'd receive an error saying FP hardware not found or something extremely similar)
Edit: Please, please, please make a backup of your persist.img before it eventually gets corrupted and with no backup you could wind up with a paperweight that even loses its IMEI.
