As the title states im looking for a version of the driver before the 2018 one on the lenovo website. The reason for this is because I've noticed that when the keyboard is enabled, there is a static coming out of the speakers. This static was fixed in the linux debian iso from github so it's not a hardware issue. Interestingly I found only one other post on the internet about this static issue.

It took me a while to get the package pov had assembled for Ubuntu's Hardy Heron release to work.
But afterwards everything was running smoothly, except that some (Windoze) based DHCP servers caused my Network Driver to kernel crash.
So I updated to Intrepid Ibis, and that indeed solved the problem with the network driver.
But now the synaptics package doesn't seem to work right no more, as the mouse pointer jumps all over the screen when I use the touchpad.
And only doing things via touchscreen doesn't work all the time, in some cases one has to be able to use the mouse.
But the touchpad has now become almost unusable.
Does anyone know how to get past this ?
Hi there,
I have Archos 101 with Android 2.2 and physical USB keyboard, which can be connected through USB port. My problem is that I can't switch on Russian layout using this keyboard, only English is available.
Is there any way to write in Russian using USB keyboard?
Nobody know?
Same Problem here, sorry I don't know the solution either.
However this neighbouring subforum "Archos Gen8 Android Development"
seems a better place to start:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=877
Looking at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10156947
it seems people are already able to build custom kernels,
and this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871391
seems to indicate that someone is already more than 50% finished getting a DVB-T USB-Stick to work on the Archos 101.
In comparison, getting additional external keyboard layouts to work should not be a high-flying dream. To be honest, I think Archos theirselves should fix this, and soon; after all their devices are sold on different international markets and they did adapt the on-screen keyboard. This is just an annoying omission on Archos' part.
On the other hand, realistically we might see results by do-it-yourself sooner...
Perhaps somebody active in the above threads already knows the details of the Android architecture (and the extensions Archos did - few Android devices have a USB host port!) well enough to point us in the right direction?
Best regards, Thilo
I'm looking for a solution to this problem in Flytouch3
I have not tried it yet, but the problem seems to be the same for all Android-based devices. Particularly I'm interested in bilingual Cyr/Lat USB-keyboard for Chinese Flytouch3/SuiperpadII.
I have found the following link (in Russian), seems it should solve the problem:

Just tested the link of Firmware 2.4.65 for Gen8 device...

where did you get it?
On Archos HP still the old one
They updated the change log, but for some unknown reason they did not update the link to download the new version of firmware.
Version 2.4.65 - October 20th, 2011
Internationalization: add Korean translations support
Video: improve SMI subtitle support and provide better subtitle codepage/encoding detection
Applications: increase reactivity of applications constantly updating sound volume without any change in value (e.g. fruit ninja)
A101 accessory: add support for Archos 3G key
A101 accessory: add support for some USB Ethernet adapters (chipsets: RTL8150, ASIX AX88xxx, Davicom DM9601, SMSC LAN75xx, SMSC LAN95xx, NetChip 1080, MosChip MCS7830)
A70 hard drive based devices: fix unit loosing mass storage happening sometimes on recent models
Accelerometer: apply calibration right away without requiring a reboot to take effect
PTP: fix USB host camera support
yes just tried to use the autoupdate - it downloaded it and then while clicking install it told me - its NOT for my device (funny)
well lets try the manual way
I'm currently downloading the firmware, new root package will be released soon
edit: Rooting is available: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18786332#post18786332
anyone any idea when these changes/fixes will be implemented in UD? I'm interested in the last one (usb camera)
cheers

Finished updating my Archos last night. Haven't really tried if the changes posted in the Archos website has been applied. As of now I have not encounter any problem yet.
Change log for this firmaware can be found in Archos website.
I got the link from Arctablet.com website.

Could someone already updated check if the Cinema plugin is included in the new version? Obviously, someone who didn't buy the plugin,
(playing a video with AC3 audio, for example)
Thanks!
"A101 accessory: add support for Archos 3G key"
Is there also a support for A70 by using an USB host adapter? I think the only differnenz in this case is that the A101 has a standart USB port.
No, as the A70 with the std FW only deliveres 100mA, which definately is not enough for the dongle.

Just checked the update on my 2 day old 101 and it still required the cinema plugin...........I cant believe that I have to pay for a plugin, on what is now old technology, with the release of gen9. Cant believe that you should have to buy a plugin at all for what is a basic use of the 101, playing video files. If i knew before buying I wonder if I would have bought it at all.
Stop wining, this is known since the beginning and we have more than enough discussions about that.
It is your own fault that you didn't read that info that is clearly stated on the box and on the archos site.
This firmware update is okay but I no longer have my OpenAOS multi-boot menu. I reflashed the kernels after I did the root for this firmware and the menu.lst file is still present but it just boots up with the Archos screen and then goes to my Froyo screen.
Would someone please confirm how the 2.4.65 fw compares with the stability and performance of 2.1.8 fw.
Thanks in advance.
70IT 8G
2.1.8 fw
zeam 3.1.5
you can use a dongle with an RJ45 with a cable usb host throughout the Gen8

Hello all,
I was finally able to connect my Nexus Q to a TV after waiting about a week for an OTG cable in the mail. Since set up I have noticed that the output from the Q is slightly larger than the display I am using. I haven't been able to find a solution within the settings, and I've found no information online due to the rarity and limited support of this product. If anyone could help point me in the direction of some kind of solution I would greatly appreciate it!

Might sound silly, but did you make sure your TV isn't zooming in? TVs do that to make non wide screen content fit the whole screen

I did go in and check that, but changing those settings didn't work. I began swapping other settings I saw to see what would work, and it turned out changing the "Overscan" to "off" solved the problem completely.
i do not have an overscan option, still having this issue.

What TV are you using? Are you using any adapters?
apex tv, just have the micro hdmi to HDMI port. I have it plugged into slot 1, had it in slot 2 and makes no differences by port
Has anyone had success with this? I just got CM 10.1 running on my Q, and the image extends off the screen's physical area in every direction. I also haven't got an OTG cable yet so I can't really do anything, but that's another issue...
Anyway, my Q is hooked up through a Harman/Kardon receiver, and I've had issues with Linux PCs not reading the EDID info properly in the past, so I suspect it's a similar problem. The stock firmware didn't seem to have a problem though, and neither does the Chromecast or any commercial device.
There's gotta be a way to adjust the video mode timing, right?
CyanogenMod is no longer supported, and security patches might be outdated so do this at your own risk (I'm not responsible for what happens to your device)
I was cleaning my PC and found some old Nook HD+ files; the only worth mentioning is the last somewhat modern build that still worked with my HDTV HDMI Adapter. I'm going to assume you already know how to install a custom ROM based on the hundreds of tutorials on this forum, so I'm only going to share the links to the files necessary to have a working CM13 Marshmallow Nook HD+.
Yes, I understand that Lineage OS is far better because it supports casting to smart devices, and these older CM13 builds don't; however, some people might still have a spare TV that they only use from time to time where wireless is not an option, perhaps you travel and seem to find yourself in crappy hotels that require HDMI and have no Wi-Fi, etc.
It can be overwhelming at times to look through all the Nook HD+ threads, and find information on the almost extinct and forgotten HDMI support; so here you go.
The only issue with this build as far as I remember, was that at times the Wi-Fi connection would be lost after sleeping the Nook HD+ too long, thus needing to reboot the tablet to get the connection back; however, someone on this forum found what the problem was and made a Video Tutorial on how to fix the problem (I will provide a link to the video tutorial as well).
My settings weren't exactly like the person that made the video tutorial, but I have uploaded a screenshot of what fixed the problem for me; you have to set the priority of your Wi-Fi networks really low, so that the system can focus more on the Wi-Fi signal and won't loose connection too easily. Originally the priority of my network was really high, and that's why I was getting disconnected from my Wi-Fi quite often.

If the Nook's image looks upside-down/inverted on the TV when using HDMI, just tilt the Nook HD+ downward horizontally to rotate/invert the screen; thus making the image on the TV right-side-up.
