I have noticed OnePlus phones and Nokia phones with phone app same as mine (pixel 2 xl) but they have call recording option available but I don't find any option in my phone app. Can someone explain this to me please?

Any call recorder app that really works for this phone?
I tried few from play store but all have issues, not recording the other side, or very low volume, or recording calls sporadically, just from time to time
thanks for suggestions
I use Record My Call. Works pretty solid, no problems, you just have to turn on and off cause it doesn't have option to record a specific call so it records everything
Only thing for me was it didn't work well with hands free, cause i couldn't hear the other peoples voice after, so just use without them.

I've just activated my HD Voice in service menu but every time I make a call the icon shows up on the screen and I have to press it to activate with every single call, is there any way to have it "pressed" by default ?
Weird. I have HDvoice enabled on my and never noticed that. Can you take a screenshot?

Sorry just tested it now to take a screenshot and noticed this is icon for some extra volume and hd voice icon as I expected before so I am still not sure if my hd voice works but what can I say I think my Note 2 has much better voice quality on most custom roms
On my note 3 its distinctly clear when I am talking in hd voice. Its like the other party is just right beside me. Now on note 4, when I am talking to the same person, I am pretty sure its not on hd voice. I really thought it would be a standard feature in new generation smart phone

Never mind got it.....
If you go into the call log it shows HD when it's working. My girl calls and most times it does but a couple of times it didn't so depends.

Can't see anything in my call log indicating HD voice on any of my calls.
It is enabled, my network does support it, I am in a 4G area, and I've been calling my girlfriend who also has HD Voice enabled on her S5, and is also on the same network in a 4G area.
Just curious as to what it looks like. Can't find anything online which shows it.
Hello!
I have Moto X play (stock 5.1, non-rooted). I have tried 3 call recording apps but none of them records the call when I have the earphones plugged in. Can you pls. tell me what could be the reason for this? And will rooting the device solve this problem?

Most probably you should ask the developers of app for this issue.

But, as I have tried 3 different apps and all these apps support recording with headphone in other mobiles, so I thought that this particular set may have something which is denying the apps to record calls. So, that;s what I want to know whether rooting the mobile will help this problem or not?
Any way to enable video call in Xiaomi Mi A1
If camera 2 API is enabled and Google camera is installed using that tool for unrooted device
Are you asking about the in-dialer video calling?
yes
It's should be working from dialler only. But mine is not working I don't know why whenever I try to call it shows a black screen. Any solution.
Has anyone who has upgraded to 9.0 tried call recording?
My understanding is Google has changed the operating system and basically stopped 3rd party apps from recording calls without root.
My job requires I record call so I am keen to know the Mi A1 situation before upgrading.
It has been said that some manufacturers could undo the changes made by Google and allow call recording but that it was quite unlikely as the laws vary so much from country to country, this coupled with the fact our device is Android One make this even more unlikely as we should receive "stock" android.
Would be grateful to hear anyones experience.
I updated yesterday to Pie. I have ACR Pro and in automatic mode it does't record the other side's voice :/
Actually if you are in a quiet environnement can you hear the other side but very faintly.
Hopefully someone will come up with a solution or we'll have to root the phone.
Boldbeast works
I yesterday updated to pie. I use Boldbeast recorder. To check, I recorded a call. The result was that other side was clearly audible.
P. S. Non rooted phone

Thanks for that.
I'm surprised though.
If you look at the reviews on Google Play, Bolbeast replies (to a user with a MI A2 on the 23rd of December):
Android 9.0 disabled the call recording feature, you can only record your own voice, no matter what recorder you are using in the market. You can test and confirm this fact. This app can fix the problem perfectly if you root the phone. Without root you have no solution in the world, with root this app is exactly the solution.

You say "clearly audible" but is that at the same volume as your voice ?
Because on ACR, the mic source can also pick it but at a very low volume.
Anybody tried Boldbeast using root mode?
Using Cube ACR, and voice is only audible, not loud and clear, and very hard to understand.
Boldbeast isn't working for me.
I didn't have to update to Pie, looking forward to downgrade safely for may reasons.

I've just tried Boldbeast out of curiosity...
with default settings it doesn't work, I can record my voice but not the other party.
With rooted mode and the settings described in the docs for Google Pixel (Record mode: alsa) it works perfectly.
