Flashing SM-G975O w/ SM-G975U Firmware - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

I have a SM-G975O w/ android 11 and I'm trying to flash it with SM-G975U firmware using Odin w/ the files from G975USQU1ASBA and it has failed several times. I have OEM unlocking and USB debugging on. This is what I get when Odin fails:
<ID:0/004> FAIL! (Auth)
<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
and on my phone it says:
SECURE CHECK FAIL : ab1
I don't know if I'm using the wrong firmware or something else. I'm on T-Mobile and I want Wi-Fi Calling to work. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My wife has the SM-G9750, Wi-Fi Calling on T-mobile works fine. Don't waste time trying to flash SM-G975U firmware on your device, it won't work. Only 3 firmwares are compatible with your device. TGY (Hong Kong), BRI (Taiwan) and CHC (China). TGY is your best option for T-mobile compatibility.

Hi varcor
I'd like replace China firmware with Hong Kong firmware to get more global languages and Google Services preinstalled.
How does firmware replace procedure looks like?
Can I use stock Odin or I need Patched Odin or other software?
Thank you in advanced.
Regards

Looks like standard procedure.
I thought during firmware replacement from one country to another I need to take some additional action.
Thank you again @varcor

Please help a noob!

Hi I just got a Note 3 on eBay, I think the seller was from Hong Kong but they opened it and installed Singaporean firmware on it.
I want it to run HK firmware but I heard about all these issues with the partition? I'm confused, which firmware am I allowed to install? I have XSP so I think that is Singapore.
I have a Rose Gold White 32GB.

Yes, you are right that the HK firmware can not be installed on another Note 3 due to different PIT file.
What is your Original CSC? You can check it with Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app.

Sorry, Sony was very easy for me to flash, I am seriously confused. I just want a firmware where there is Traditional Chinese. My Sony Z2 with German firmware had all the languages, weird that Samsung doesn't include all. So can anyone please direct me? I don't want to flash the wrong firmware and brick it. Thanks.

Since your phone is XSP now, you MAY NEED the PIT file from the HK phone to flash the HK firmware.
Search in the forum for the PIT file and also the instruction.

Pit files are for base firmware and phone. You need a Lollipop PIT (I presume) for the N9005. And the best .pit is your own .pit which you can pull with adb.
And remember that .pit rhymes with s**t because USE PIT ONLY IN CASE S**T.
If you're on Lollipop already, you don't need a .pit and repartitioning, just Odin the Vodafone firmware.
So are you saying flash the unbranded polish rom first for lollipop as I'm currently on kit kat then flash the Vodafone lollipop after that? That doesn't make sense? I thought unbranded and branded devices had different partition sizes or am.i confused? Cheers Andy
You should probably have quoted your original post. It would've made things much clearer.
He's getting a size error in ODIN on flashing the branded ROM.
From what I've seen over the course of several updates where people had the same issue, that requires a pit file.
Some branded versions have a size difference, particularly between countries. UK Vodafone and BTU can usually be used interchangeably, because they're developed by the same local Samsung team. But trying a branded rom over a foreign unbranded ROM occasionally results in a filesize error when it concerns new Android versions.
The Note 3 had the same issue with DBT 4.4 over XEO. (which, interestingly, are both unbranded.)

So do you think I could go from kit kat uk btu to lollipop Vodafone? Or will a pit file be required - if I can find one?

SM-G8850 Samsung Galaxy A9 Star change from CHC to TGY

I have a Samsung Galaxy A9 Star (SM-G8850) purchased on the Chinese market. Once updated to the latest firmware I get:
AP: G8850ZCU3ASA1
CP: G8850ZCU3ASA1
CSC: G8850CHC3ASA1
Model: SM-G8850/DS
The firmware comes with all the usual Chinese crapware and I would like to switch it to the Hong Kong (TGY) firmware in order to access Google Play Services and use it outside China. I have found the official pages detailing the firmware versions (CHC for China, TGY for HK) and the appropriate page on SamMobile with instructions for uploading a new firmware using Odin.
Is this process safe and/or reversible? Do I need to root or install TWRP recovery first? Are the China/HK versions of the phone hardware-identical? Is there a guide for this for a similar phone that I could attempt to follow, is there anything else I need to consider relating to partition size? Is there a different way to install GApps and Google Play Services on a Chinese market phone? Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks for any help!
Update on progress. Unfortunately this is currently not possible for me since I updated the Chinese firmware from bootloader U1 to U3, and the latest version of the TGY firmware still uses U2. I think it would be necessary to root the phone to downgrade, which would trigger Knox.
CSC CHC: G8850ZCU3ASA1
CSC TGY: G8850ZHU2ASA1
Attempting to flash the old version results in "SW REV CHECK FAIL [abl]Fused 3 > Binary 2"
For anyone who has not yet updated, if flashing directly with the same bootloader level doesn't work, this guide seems likely to work:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-changing-csc-s8-s8-root-t3799045
Using combination files available here:
https://combinationfirmware.com/combination-samsung-galaxy-a9-star
Would appreciate reports from anyone trying this. I will be waiting for a TGY build using U3.
Another update. TGY Build G8850ZHU3BSEB was released, with U3 bootloader and Android 9. Using this firmware, it is possible to change the phone from the Chinese CHC firmware to Hong Kong TGY firmware. The phone changes its model number from Galaxy A9 Star to Galaxy A8 Star. Simply download Odin 3.13.3 and the firmware from https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a8-star/firmware/SM-G8850/ and flash.
