Hi I just got a Note 3 on eBay, I think the seller was from Hong Kong but they opened it and installed Singaporean firmware on it.
I want it to run HK firmware but I heard about all these issues with the partition? I'm confused, which firmware am I allowed to install? I have XSP so I think that is Singapore.
I have a Rose Gold White 32GB.

Yes, you are right that the HK firmware can not be installed on another Note 3 due to different PIT file.
What is your Original CSC? You can check it with Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app.

Is this only an issue for HK firmware? I want Traditional Chinese as a language. Can I flash Taiwan firmware? Which firmware has the fastest updates that has Traditional Chinese?
I downloaded the app and this is what I see:

Sorry, Sony was very easy for me to flash, I am seriously confused. I just want a firmware where there is Traditional Chinese. My Sony Z2 with German firmware had all the languages, weird that Samsung doesn't include all. So can anyone please direct me? I don't want to flash the wrong firmware and brick it. Thanks.

Since your phone is XSP now, you MAY NEED the PIT file from the HK phone to flash the HK firmware.
Search in the forum for the PIT file and also the instruction.

Hello everyone, so I received my I9500 octacore version today. When I try to check my CSC: I see I9500XXUAMDE as PDC, and I9500OJVAMDC as CSC. When I go to check this on Sammobile, they told me that this is Afghanistan Firmware. What does this mean exactly? What is the CSC, and why is my firmware Afghanistan, does it mean that my phone was build there?
By the way, i import this from a US ebay seller http://www.ebay.com/itm/200921143337...84.m1497.l2649
If someone can explain me about all this, Thank you in advance.

I9500XXUAMDE is just your firmware, I am also running this and I live in Australia.
So to be clear you can run any firmware and it doesn't matter.
Your CSC is the modem for the region and OJVA identifies the region and MDC identifies the version you are running.
So OJVA is your region and as long as you are getting a signal it is all fine
Dear Friends,
I'm using N9005 on this N9005XXUBMJ1 firmware and trying to flash to the newer firmware from other region N9005ZHUDMJ8.
However, I've been getting an error "ext4 img" in ODIN and now my phone cannot boot and stuck on the download mode. So I decided to flash it back to its previous version N9005XXUBMJ1 but still not success and stuck on the same loop.
I have tried doing the emergency recovery from KIES, but having another error "[about] Fused 2 > Binary 1" (on the following screenshot)
Can anybody help me on this problem? I really like the phone and I really need it back.
Thank you
I just solved the problem by myself, it seems that there is a problem with the bootloader on the MJ8 version or something, so I use the MJ6 BTU firmware instead and it works. phewww
Having the same problem...which firmware is MJ6 BTU?
TIA

I think MJ8 is from Hongkong 16GB Model.
Either way the knox warranty void has been triggered. You also have the new bootloader meaning recovery through Kies won't work until your country gets the new bootloader stock.. You are essentially stuck using another countries rom now until your coutry/carrier upgrades their firmware with the new bootloader...
Forget Kies recovery working if things go wrong...

To answer my own question, this is the BTU (United Kingdom) firmware file that saved my otherwise bricked phone which got the MJ8 HK bootloader:

It should be possible, but might fail, so in any case make sure you download both the latest Hong Kong firmware (MK1) and the MJ7 BTU firmware just in case it fails you can flash MK1 on top and your device supposed to work fine.
Hello,
I've bought (imported) my note 3 from Hongkong.
Model SM-N9005
Product code SM-N9005ZWETGY
PDA N9005ZHUDMK1
CSC N9005ZHUDMK1
Modem N9005ZHUDMJ9
Can I download the XEF ROM for France (international ROM: not operator dependant) and install it with ODIN?
Thanks for your help

As it's a HK Note, you have to go do some reading as they work differently to the Intl Note 3, @FeralFire has been looking into ways to help HK note users flash different firmwares, click his name in this post, and check his post history and read what he has wrote. He also has a guide to help you through errors which occur on the HK note.
Thanks for your quick help. Seems rather complicated..... I'll read everything and try to understand...
It's not yet clear to me whether I can turn this Hong Kong version in an "normal" international version by flashing the french international firmware?
Hi, Can any one suggest me which countries firmware work fine here with indian cariers. I mean there are a lot of CSC options to choose but INU is not availale. I want to download the latest firmware from samsmobile so which firmware should I choose.
Thanks
Well I asked about the same but no one really knows what's the latest ROM! Samsung's chagelog numbers are seem to be meaningless as well, so I don't know how to know which is the latest firmware. But I think just going by PDA version's number there might be an idea? And as per that idea I think UAE's ROM NJ2 is the latest. And I am using that ROM.
Also remember what version do you have. I mean ROMs for 32 GB can't be used with a 16 GB model or vice versa. I tried to flash the Hong Kong ROM on my 32 GB N9005 but it failed, as it was meant for 16 GB devices only.

No issues with firmware.
Everything is fine.
Hi guz,
I want to downgrade my NOTE 4 from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1. I googled it and did show one of the thread on this forum using ODIN method for that. My problem is to find the correct firmware version for note 4.
My device info is given below
Model Number: SM-N910F
Baseband version: N910FXXU1DPB1
Build Number: MMB29M.N910FXXU1DPE1
Please help me on finding the correct firmware or suggest me on identifying the possible versions.
Thank you.
Go to sammobile and find the last released 5.1.1 firmware for your device.

Use any unbranded firmware mate, UK for example. By unbranded I mean try those which don't come with any carrier labelling, you know like O2 etc.

Yes, unless EE is a carrier name it should be unbranded.
Installing the EE firmware will also install EE's own remote phone locking software in the persdata partition (Which is a real pain to remove as it will keep coming back even if you flash a non EE firmware) as well as EE's bloatware.
Use the BTU firmware for a clean unbranded phone.

Downgrading on galaxy note 4
Hi....I just found your thread and wanted to know did the downgrade work in the end and what impact did it have on the phone. Did it improve? What were the reasons you decided to downgrade?
Thanks
