Can I use WiFi Direct to "share" files on Lineage 17.1 ?
I can see how to connect to other devices via Wifi Direct but cannot find a share option which will allow me to send an image file to another device.
Do I need to install additional software to support this type of share ?
I note that I get a message "Direct Share not available". Is this a security problem or do I need to tweak anoter configuation setting ?

Hi all,
I have several WM5 and WM6 devices wich connect to my companies network using GPRS for Outlook sync and a custom application. I want to use our proxy-server to add internet acces for our users in a controlled way. The OWA server and the custom application server need to be directly, not by the the proxy-server. So I have to add those the URL Exceptionlist ( there are dots in the names).
Manually this is easy to configure but I use scripts to configure the devices (XML-provisioning and some other tools). Can't find out how to add entries to the URL Exceptions list. Found they are stored in \ConnMgr\CMMapP and ~CMMapG. Copied these files from one device to another (by ActiveSync) but that doesn't work. These files have the system attribute set and I guess their permanently in use by ConnectionManager.
Doe anyone have a suggestion how to distribute URL exceptions?
Thank in advance.

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to use my old Wizard running WM6.1 as a gateway for a PC. The challange is that this PC does need to be connected permanently to the Internet and will upload every 5 min a picture of a webcam. The Wizard needs to be in a mode so that it does directly start the ICS and connect to the public Internet in case of a restart..
I already disabled the SIM PIN and copied the ICS link into the Autostart folder.
But how can I implement the last missing pice.. to press the connect button ?
Does anyone know some reg parameters for ICE or is there a parameter I can use in the link for the autostart folder ?
Any help is welcome..
Cheers
Markus
Intro:
So, I've had some problems accessing the market from a forbidden country (i.e Sudan, Lebanon). When I tried to use the built-in VPN client in a Cyanogenmod ROM it turned out that it doesn't work so after a well-spent time, I figured out how to use a VPN on my HD2.
What Can it be used for?
- Access the internet using your data connection without revealing your IP address.
- Unlock the market for forbidden countries. (my case)
- Basically, VPN on your Androided HD2.
Requirements:
An HTC HD2 with a Cyanogenmod Rom or a ROM based on it.
OpenVPN Settings application (Provided in the attachments)
An OpenVPN config files and certificates (Recommended will be provided below)
An SD card.
Instructions:
1- I recommend using Hostizzle, go to it then register for a free plan. (go for a paid one if you want)
2- After registering, download your keys (only keys and not .exe ) and extract them to a new folder on the root of your sd card with the following name "openvpn" .
3- Go to your phone and install the "OpenVPN Settings" application (attached) .
4- Run the Application and Allow all the SuperUser Requests. Then press menu and choose "Advanced" . Make sure that "Load tun kernel module" is ticked, then hit "TUN module settings" and make sure that "Load module using" is set to "insmod" and "Path to tun module" is set to "/system/lib/modules/tun.ko" .
5-(optional) if you faced troubles using the internet, long press on your configurations name and then "Preferences" then tick "Use VPN DNS Server" and set the "VPN DNS Server" to "8.8.8.8".
6- Return to the main screen of the app and tick "OpenVPN" and then tick your configuration.
Then it will go through a sequence, when you see "Connected to *.*.*.* as *.*.*.*" then you're connected, if you're seeing a blank after "as" then you have a problem and you have to check the procedures again.
Tips & Warnings:
*You can use any OpenVPN service as long as you can obtain the configurations file.
*I have only tested this on "HyperDroid", but it should work with any cyanogenmod ROM.
*Do not install "OpenVPN installer" as it will mess up your phone's VPN configurations.
*OpenVPN Settings can be obtained from the market, but in my case I couldn't do it .
*The files you should copy to the "openvpn" folder should at least contain the following : (*.ovpn, ca.crt, client.crt, client.key, ta.key)
*It is ok for the connection to keep restarting, it will connect you soon.
*Anything else you tell me

I wrote this tut because I wasn't able to access the Market from my phone because the country was forbidden
Hit thanks if it/I helped.
Hello,
a couple of days ago i updated my Galaxy S5 from rooted stock Kitkat (Touchwiz) to Cyanogenmod 12 (nightly 26.01. at the moment, recovery is TWRP).
I know CyanogenMod from using it on my Galaxy S2 already.
unfortunately i keep having some network problems..
At first the phone didn't connect to my Wifi. The Router assigns a fixed ip to the phone's MAC-address. I was able to fix that by configuring the Wifi-conection on the phone to the same IP instead of using DHCP.
Wifi works fine now.
Second: My ES-file-explorer FTP-Server isn't working. It starts well on the phone, but i can't access the IP ftp://192.168.178.xx like i was used to from my windows pc. Also if i ping the ftp://ip-address in the command promt i get a "couldn't find host"-error..
-------------------------------------
Third Problem Fixed!! (Had to re-enable "Allow programs on other systems to control XBMC")
Third: My Yatse XBMC / Kodi remote won't find the Host. it is active in the same network and i can controll it with my girlfriend's stock Galaxy S5, but i can't add the host to my Yatse.. Even if i enter IP and Webserver-Port directly the JSON-RPC check fails..
Any advice?
Thank you very much for your Help!!
I have a 5.0.2 lollipop rom (latest fusion rom ver.5.1 build) . I have the problem whenever I connected to my home-wifi an it has no connection to the internet, I can't send commands to my htpc with kodi installed.
I checked my wifi connection with the Fing app. It says "No wifi connection, check our...", but the statusbar and the quicksettings tittle says I'm connectet to the wifi (with the "!").
I like to use my mobile date connection and the wifi connection at the same time (only when the wifi has no internet connection), to send commands to my kodi or access files from my server.
Is this a bug of the rom I using or is this the standard behavior of android.
Can I change this behavior?
(I found a script. My question for the script. 1.Can I use this for S4 and what shold be changed(I think the adapter names. Where can I find the names of the adapters). 2. Is there a (tasker) method to check if I have internet thru wifi or mobile when connected to wifi?)
I hope u can understand my problem.
