Hello,
I bought an android head unit last year with android 6.0 marchmellow on it, however through-out the winter, the mcu became corrupted which caused all of the following issues.
* All factory apps besides the iGo navigation app instantly crash (no radio, music, bluetooth, etc..)
* Nothing can be triggered in the settings menu as it also instantly crashes as soon as you select anything.
* Side buttons no longer light up
* All side buttons no longer work, only the power and volume knob.
* A precious cd stuck in it due to eject not working (factory app).
After multiple times researching a bit here and there over the past few months, I've determined it to be a corrupted MCU.
Head unit is this one:
https (u know what goes here) www (dot) amazon (dot) com/gp/product/B071XXBD9S
"EinCar
Android 6.0 Marshmallow Car Stereo Double 2 Din 6.2 Inch Capacitive Touch Screen Car DVD Player In Dash GPS Navigation Bluetooth Support OBD2 WiFi Mirrorlink"
I can provide more info if needed just have to power it up. j
If I go into the settings menu and look at the about info, the MCU and a few other things are completely blank.
I need help figuring out how to root & flash it. It has a bunch of female end USB, and two micro usb slots.
I've tried doing it from a micro usb, by holding the reset and power buttons but the recovery boot screen gives no options, simply says its updating, then starts up staying the same.
I do have a laptop but have to buy a male to male usb to connect it.
Trying to flash what I think will work with it is called V7.3.2_20171116.202256_KED1-mod
I can access the play store app as well and install app from there which work, just not any factory ones will work.
Any help would be... super helpful
Hi all
I bought a second hand car stereo 8.1 reference 8227l Chinese without name ... see pics
I have several problems : impossible to find how to go into recovery and therefore impossible to root for now ... (I tested all possibilities: reset / power and all keys)
But more serious: impossible to have access to settings / accessibilities necessary for google maps which bug in navigation, or install a program like "velociraptor" to have the speed in real time
Cannot find out how to do a hard reset too : rolleyes: there is a reset / settings function but it does not do anything ... reboot everything stays in place
Thank you for help and good day
Usually reboot and volume +
Thanks for help but not possible with vol+. I'm not sure buttons are enabled during boot they're lightning only after android is running.
Android Head Unit 8227
Good day to everyone, ive also got a head unit 8227L from ebay, its a 7" android 8 head unit, none if the physical buttons do anything, they died after i changed the boot logo, i have tried putting it back to the original one but no help, on top of that, the touch screen dosent work in the cold, and here in the great white north, its 30 degrees below freezing for months, Ive tried everything to get them working again but no luck. I have to use a USB mouse to even do simple things like change volume, so needless to say, its a useless radio until i can get the buttons working again. Any help be greatly appreciated. Ebay just refunded me for the radio they quit trying to help, all they said was to just press the reset button, which dosent help

I do not have an 8227 unit but try to help here.
With my px3/5 and T8 units, I can remap physical buttons using either a built-in app, or Settings/Car Settings menu. You may try to find out available options on your unit.
There is a Russian forum for 8227 units and you may use google translation to see its contents: https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=930058 .
Thank you for your response, the touch screen works when the truck gets warm, and only when it gets warm, says on ebay listing that it only works to -10 C, and well it will be awhile for that to happen here, the real problem is the no buttons work, i went to that site you provided and google did a great job translating it, but unfourtnley didnt help my problem, also the picture provided looks different then mine, im not sure how to add photos so i cant even show you what mine looks like, but ebay item 273656041408 thats the one i have
I have an 8227 device but its a hizpo not the same as yours so I dont know if you have the same options. But on mine, when you go into the about device in settings there is a gear icon you can click on which the code 8888 works so you can access deeper settings. One of which is the buttons on the front.
yes, ive tried that option, i can key into the key learn option, but it wont program any of the keys, what i dont understand is, how would changing the boot logo affect any of the keys, it is the 8888 code as you said to get to the other menu page, there is however a slider bar at the bottom of the key study option, has Chinese writing before it, i can slide it from 0-55, not sure what it does or if thats my problem
defective gps module ?
Hi everyone.
I recently bought an 8227L chinese 8.1.0 android car head unit. Everything works well, except the GPS: it can't find any sattelites. The connection of antenna is properly made, I tried to put it in different locations, even outside of my car, but no sattelite found.
Is there any setting I can change (e.g. factory settings or so)? Maybe the GPS chip is defective ? How can I get into that ?
Thanks.
hi there and welcome here, possibly you plugged GPS ant into wrong spot, i know on mine the radio and gps ant look very similar, tho im not sure if thats even possible, it is normal for the radio to take up to 5-10 min for the first calibration. You may be correct on a defective gps antenna, if your antenna has a clear line of sight and its been on for 10-15 min, if its still not finding any satellites id go with a bad antenna, but im sure theres many more people here with much more experience then myself, hopefully someone else has better suggestions

Lucky to get a full refund. lol. Go to Car Settings, Factory Settings, enter password 8888, go to Physical button study and have fun. Remember that some buttons have multiple features like the power button is power and mute.
Btw, it is very hard to find info on these units. Weird since they are awesome for the price.

Dear, I found this procedure to root: https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=930058&st=340#entry82160226 .
I can't download the attachment cause I can't login due to Russian.
Did you try this procedure?
Tks.
Hi I cant login to 4pda too, and I doubt this process cause I can't even connect to my laptop (not recognise / no sound with usb)

Oh yes you are absolutely right, in settings/ others/ enable USB2 debug and save/reboot at boot I can see a line at the top (don't remember exactly ... "waiting usb" or something like that.
Now I'm really afraid to try root as I don't have any backup and it's a second hand radio :silly:
Did you try rooting
Hello yes but flashtool.exe is not working on my laptop (I tried with Windows 7 pro)
Ok I gave a new try to Mekede root... so flashtool.exe must be at c:\ on the computer to work but when I put AC8227_android_scatter nothing happened, all is grey, 0kb/s. I tried to connect USB on unit but impossible to recognise (I tried to enable debug USB in dev settings) drive me crazy...
Edit : I totally bricked by flashing MekedeRoot via sd card. I opened unit and saw it's MEDIATEK MT6323LGA 1831AGAH CTG39W03
I'm searching drivers for Windows to connect USB but no chance for now
It looks like I may have come to the right place.I have one of these units from Ebay. It reboots every time power (ACC) is applied and again when you start the engine. I went back to the Chinese vendor and they suggested I do a hard reset. Now the left hand side of the touch screen X0-X200 doesn't work. Nor does any of the soft buttons on the left hand side.
I've gone into the factory settings screen and found the touch related functions; Touch Settings, Touch Test, Physical Buttons Study and debug touch.
The Factory Setting App looks similar to this guide on the Joying website dubdubdubdot joyingauto.com/blog/category/head-unit-problems-solved (I cant post links yet) particularly the Physical Buttons Study and step 3 where the X/Y deltas can be set. However, when I select 'config' in the unit I get a config file not found error.
So would it be possible for somebody to post a copy here of that file for me?
Also in the 8227L Factory settings Menu is the "export Config" option. That creates a file metazone.bin on the USB drive. Could I get a copy of that from a working system please? Mine is 1Mb but checking with GHEX it is pretty empty (0x00's). Also any clues on where it is located or how to import the data?
In /storage/emulated/0 is a file calibration.ini it has zero bytes does that have anything to do with it? A copy of that would be appreciated as well please?
Then there is the reboot problem. I have another, different, Android 7 unit in another vehicle it comes on and stays on immediately power is applied.
I have found this file auto_shutdown.sh in the root folder
I hope you can help please? I'm having trouble with the vendor etc to get any resolution or refund
Hi all
Basically, my Android Headunit is driving me mad!
Sometimes (99% of the time) when i switch my car on in the morning the headunit will switch on as normal, but either the touchscreen will not work at all, or will work for a few seconds and then stop responding completley. It will then sometimes either start working again after a while, or after a few resets (via the hardware button). However, once it starts working again you can bet your bottom dollar it wont work again the next day.
The headunit is still working, because i can change the volume with the SWC and I also have a mouse connected via USB so i can control it, access settings etc.
My question is that is it likely a background Android process that activates once the headunit has been to sleep is responsible for causing the touchscreen to become unresponsive?
Things I have tried:
* Hard Reset (I dont think this is a full hard reset though because it keeps evidence of previously installed apps, folders etc on the internal flash)
* Touch screen calibration
* Removing sim card and other (USB) connected devices
Things I cannot do:
* I have asked for the firmware from the seller but he is not responding
Things I will consider doing
* Installing another (preferably rooted) firmware, but I dont know which are compatiable
This is the headunit:

I am literally at the point of offering a small bounty to anyone who can help me fix this issue.
I have an Allwinner T8 which had been working fine until yesterday. It's running stock firmware and unrooted. Yesterday coming home from work it started to boot loop. The radio would come on for a few seconds, then go off, the display constantly shoing the turning android.
I had hoped it was just hot as it was a very hot day, but was the same this morning. I've tried pressing the reset button to no avail, it just no longer plays a radio station as it's lost the stored stations.
I cannot seem to find a way to get into recovery mode, tried plugging in a USB keyboard and pressing "i" and CTRL-PrintScrn but nothing.
Can anyone offer any advice before it ends up as landfill?
I have the same problem with an Allwinner T8 team.
I have a 2016 jeep renegade sport plus. Supposedly the android team is a winca S300.
And it was in a loop, it does not start the system and it stays in the android logo.
I saw a way for the system to update itself.
1) the key must be connected - without starting - just making contact - power -
2) when the device reaches the android logo, it must be reset.
3) When the equipment is restarted, before the logo appears, the ignition key must be turned and removed.
4) After that, the start key must be reconnected. This should bring up an update banner.
The problem is finding that software, which should be previously installed on a flash drive.
Does anyone know how to get it?
I have a problem with the reverse switch, i already check the hardware and everything looks fine so i think is something related to the software.
Is there any update for this headunit? i attach some photos of the MCU and system version.
Thanks in advance.

Generic (XY Auto) Android Head Units Firmware Update
Hi, I checked if it there was a post about this but i didn't found anything, so, here we go. For those that have a generic or FY Auto firmware, here is a website where you can find the correct firmware for your head unit...

Hi...
Is device having a reverse wires ? (on wires harness cables)
And are they attached one to another (pink REV marked wires)?
If yes, problem is in software as you mentioned, mainly the cause is in the factory settings of device.
If board has AC8227L chipset then go to factory settings with pin code 8888 and go inside "OTHER" menu.
There must be option REVERSE or REV or BACK or something like that, if value is at 0 set it to 1 and restart device.
Then see if system recognizes reverse. If not recognized, return and set back old settings.
In other menues of factory settings are also solutions, try to find a setting for your reverse.

Yes it has a pink cable on the harness as a reverse switch, all well connected, in the factory settings (in this case the code is 000000) there's no reverse option or anything related

Take a picture of whole factory settings, including submenues in order to look for that setting. Or better, make a brief video.
Also, from that build number of yours you should check this
https://romprovider.com/stock-firmware-head-unit-zxdz-01/
for additional help guidance and firmware update. Inside are options to flash and install update- this is provided as is and I cannot help anymore if device is bricked, so read carefully and inform your self before flashing. If doing just firmware update its ok, no harm will be done just better software installed. Flash of unit is last resort!

The only doubt i have about that firmware is that my head unit is 10" that could affect at all?

It's an 8227l, the most common headunit, so yes, you can change the rom.
From that video : (take a picture of all settings before changing - for turning settings back if no effect)
-put setting EXTERNAL DEVICE to ON or 360VIEW or REARVIEW CAMERA (must be phisically present)
-PARK RADAR OPTION - change to other than default (if has reverse camera or something like that choose that one)
- for INTERNAL DSP option - if your device supports it activate this option also
- OPTIONAL (just see if will have any effect if you change that) - STANDBY OPTIONS - it must be "0 minutes" or "never standby" - it says to device to actively writing in internal memory
If any of this changed settings work please notify, if not revert to old settings.

I already try all the settings recommended but unfortunately any of them solve the reverse cam problem, im new in this, is there any ROM you recommend me to install?
If this not solve the problem it will not installing an update either.
First thing, remove the fuse from multimedia head unit and after 10 sec or so put it in again and power up headunit , then see if this removes any problems (various static electricity are causing also unit to underperform)- if not resolved try next step.
Next step is to HARD RESET a unit - when head unit is up in android system, press RESET button (ussualy in small hole). As soon it restarts start tapping with all five fingers on screen rapidly untill system goes in recovery mode (message will appear DETECTED - but keep tapping until you see recovery mode). In recovery mode system will erase all settings and tweeks that has been made since moment of unit first power up.
After unit boots up, when in system, install everything again. Prior to tweek up settings in factory menus/infotainment see if your problem is resolved, then turn off unit and restart (cold start with engine shut down).

Your device is having a different method of getting into recovery mode. We must find one specific for your device.
Do you have in factory settings "erase all data" or "turn to factory settings" option ?

I tryed to get to recovery using adb, but i only get a android image with a "no command" text, also tried to install TWRP and only get a blue screen, fastboot doesn't work, shell either. also i installed the rom you shared before, it work a little more fast and has a better launch, i contacted the seller and he promese he will send the original rom.
The settings menu has a reset to factory option but it didnt solve the reverse problem so i think nothing will or the problem is actually on the hardware.
If I would be in this trouble I would play with various settings of device in factory settings till found a culprit for problem. But first, I would take picture of all settings to make sure that if something changed wrong I can reverse again later to old settings.
It's just that, some setting is preventing that (I have in menu options "detect camera" and it is on "1" value) or some wire is damaged and not operative. Maybe it is a "streched" wire that is causing problems if wires are put together in a lot / harness cable. Faulty antennas (GPS, WIFI) or rearview cameras can make also problems.

Finally the seller send me the newest version and now it has a option on the settings to activate or dissable the reverse detection, if any one has the same unit, only need to copy the zip file on a usb and get in settings/about system/local update and mark the system option, then only press the start update button.
