No there's nothing you can do about that.
Are you just on stock? Or? What is your current setup? Any mods/xposed?

Yes, i am 100% stock, bootloader locked.

Yes I'm the same just happened to me after the last couple of updates. What a terrible phone, even my older OP5 has L1.

Just curious but what kind of lock are you using? And are all your apps up to date ?
Make sure they are compliant.
Reason I ask about the apps and lock screen is that there may have to be a certain criteria met before it allows L3
4 digit PIN may not be adequate, use 6 or a password instead. Maybe don't use facelock instead go with fingerprint.
As you're on stock I can't see anything else that could affect it.
Reboot once you've clarified everything is up to date and add it should be.

I had my phone rooted, and i wanted to come back to stock in a safe way, so i used this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4084953/
My drm was fine until a few days ago. All my apps are up to date

Here are my settings. I havent got the update to 11.0.3 yet

Not sure then buddy.
Why do you need it anyway? Regardless of whether you have it or not? There's not a single app I use that has a problem

Thank you for your help
I need it for Netflix. I can only stream SD video now

From what I gather it seems to be some sort of corruption with persist.img IMO. Something like the fingerprint issue... That's why it's not easy to fix per say via "conventional"ways we already know so far.... OnePlus probably will ignore this as it's a random hit and miss and most people that have the problem might not even realize unless they scrutinize Netflix.

No as it doesn't touch that partition.
You'd need the persist.img fix. Just back up your persist.img first, you'll need root for that. AFAIK.
Personally never had to do it

Got it. Thank you for your help

following, mine also broken and none of the tricks to fix it for certain people fixes it for me.

OnePlus forum is full of complaints on L1 downgraded to L3. To be honest it's not surprising as OP' support after initially advising me on clearing data of Google Play Services and Netflix followed by reboot,. finally tipped to post feedback on OP Forum.

Hi, I just got an email from OnePlus. It works for me now.

[Q] rooting and device encryption sm-n900

Greetings,
Yesterday I decided to root my Note 3 (sm-n900) mainly to remove samsung's bloatware and install afwall.
Just after I rooted my phone with Odin + "CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900" and went for the first reboot, I noticed that my phone wouldn't boot anymore. After some hair pulling, I decided to wipe the device and after that it booted fine.
Finally I managed to remove %[email protected]! Flipboard and My magazine (a lot of crashes with sms and regular email, but worth removing!). Total happiness and a faster phone!
When I tried to enable encryption on the device, the phone just crashed again (with the same droid logo that appeared on the boot before the wipe). I came here and found some other users talking about rooting + encryption with sm-n900 saying that it's not working. (some reported that kingo method would work, but I really don't feel comfortable with king).
Now I'm downloading the stock rom, and planning to flash the note3 back to original since I have the recipe for T virus on my phone and couldn't allow it to fall on wrong hands
Is this a bug on cf-auto-root or encryption doesn't work with rooting at all? If it's a bug, any ideas of when a fix should be around?
Thanks!
Hi eduardogsilva,
I don't know your device, but I encountered a problem activating encryption on a rooted SM-P900. I'm not sure, but I think it's a general problem with Samsung KitKat devices. I described, how I got it solved for my device here. If you still have issues, please have a look at my thread and let me know, if it works for you...
Cheers!

Hello radicalisto, following the guide that bruzzy wrote, I managed to activate the encryption on a rooted note3.
So I guess that it should be fine now... Or is there any other issues besides activating encryption?
thanks

It'll work, just not 100% - don't be surprised if one day it freaks out on you and doesn't let you unlock it. Happens sometimes, Although, it may be that it'll stay fine for you (luck of the draw) - with root being an exploit, the system is designed to look out for changes and freak out if it spots them.

Well, the important information that I have on my mobile is in sync, the only bad thing would be reinstalling and reconfiguring everything again, so not a big problem in loosing my phone data.
I would love to use a custom rom and completely say goodbye to touchwiz and to the huge bloatware that comes with my phone, but unfortunately, CM for note3 exynos is not available yet.
thanks

Well, it says "tested on device" and is from 9/4, before the device was even unavailable. I'd be careful that apk isn't something more.

Yeah that's also the reason why I decided not to download it, I'll just wait till someone @ XDA finds a way to root the device. It's not like we'll die because our device isn't rooted for x weeks/months.
Weeks/months?! I would die! It's been a day and the amount of things I can't do is driving me nuts!
If you have an unlocked boot loader see what I say at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55709585. If you don't I think you'll be waiting for a while - someone needs to find an exploit and write the app/code needed to exploit it. This has become increasingly hard as Android has become more secure - before Towelroot AFAIK the Z1/Z2 was not rootable for a long time. You'd probably be waiting a similar length of time for the next big root exploit.

Would it not be helpful to contact Sony themselves? They're increasingly developer friendly, these days. Maybe they'd be willing to offer pointers to root app developers?

Well I know people at Sony and long story short: if you want root unlock the boot loader. Its as simple as that. You have to understand that while a root exploit looks nice to tinkerers its also a serious security issue which must be fixed - that is why many root solutions also patch the exploit they use after using it.
Does unlocking the bootloader require wiping the phone? I know this is required on the nexus phones. If it requires wipe then its the very first thing I'm doing once I get the phone out of the box.

I'm aware of this ... but on the one hand being one of the few if only manufacturers to provide official unlocking for the bootloaders (with the obvious intention of spurring development etc), but on the other actively closing non-simple (i.e. ones requiring a dedicated program) root 'exploits' would seem a little at odds. Is it really that black and white? You'd think it might be in their interests to provide an official complex / secure rooting method.

Your statements contradict themselves. Rooting without unlocking the bootloader needs a security flaw. How can any method which leaves a security hole be secure?
Bootloader unlocking gets around this by letting you control the boot partition of the device so you can disable the "security barrier" that android provides. This is a choice you are explicitly making which is why it is the only "secure" way to root.

I've read some people saying that unlocking the bootloader causes you to lose your DRM keys which apparently would affect software/ camera issues?
Can anyone verify this?

This is very true. On the z1c I neglected to back up the TA partition. And apparently lost native mirror cast and some camera features when I rolled the device back to stock.

I literally answered a question, then you followed up by requesting verification on that answer. That's pretty rude dude, if that's how you handle your questions then yeah don't ask please.
But in an effort to help, I wasn't aware of any anti-rollback in place. However, since I personally wanted to try the newest update, I just took the Ota to 15a. Then, using Uppercut, went back to 12a.
If that's your plan, to go back to either 12a or 13a, I'd recommend right after Uppercut completes to do a factory reset as you will likely get overwhelmed with force closes (kdz with uppercut doesn't wipe data). Then after you're on a clean slate 12a or 13a, right away enable airplane mode so your phone doesn't hang trying to download everything. All you're interested in is enabling USB debugging for dirty santa (i assume).
Make sense?

When I ask verified I ment was it in a thread or something didn't know for 100% if you did it or read it and if I'm not mistaken the last update was also bootloader unlockable. I read the forum a lot I ment no disrespect when asking the question. As you can tell I've been a member about as long as you and come to XDA very often. Granted yes Google does work but when i looked in to it about the downgrade all I found was how the verizon V20 has gotten root witch was a old article as we all know. I unlocked mine on version 12. Yes, I have faced similar issues. But I always fall back on Uppercut. If you're truly stuck then try to wipe everything including internal storage, system, etc. Then do the Uppercut method, that always fixes every issue I've had.
Edit:to be clear, I've had plenty of issues similar to you. However, rather than identify the problem I always just wipe the slate clean. With that said, I suspect a lot of what you're facing and issues I had were kernel related.

Well my phone got so worse that i could not make a facebook call to my girl. It was always choppy like wtf. So i took your first idea. Wipe the POS, system, cache etc. And uppercut it. Now it runs snappy with 13a with root and restock. I checkout the link when i get home. As for the shoutout its for the help you give me. The devs will get their thanks for making things possible i give this phone another month and see if it works. If it dose with all bs off of it (bloatware) i make a video for those who was asking for it. Thanka for the help you are awesome and i keep you updated how my v20 is. Glad you got yours taken care of. Did you do the airplane mode thing? I only bring it up because I flip flop back and forth so many times from stock unroot to root access (I'm indecisive).
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think as long as we have the kdz file, there will always be a way to downgrade. I think the kdz is a total device wide wipe/reinstall regardless of whatever version was on before.

true but i want to know if you dont mind testing new OTA when they come out to see if they can downgrade, if you dont wont to its fine i dont wont to take the chance as the phone has been a POS and hoping the full wipe/ uppercut fixes my issue forever at least, reasion im asking to test is im pretty sure my brothers wife updates her phone and i am trying to get to to let me have the phone so i can fix it and give it back so she can atleast be happy with a phone with no regrets
I have a VS995 I took the OTA 15A updated and I just used LGUP to downgrade back to 12A
Off subject question did you notice your GPS taking forever to find your location on google maps or waze while your VS995 was rooted. I kept having this issue so I went back to full stock and the issue went away.

Only time i had that issue was when i was in a plane. Hehe im 40,000ft so im close to a damn satellite hehe
But no i dont have it take forever its been working fine for me when rooted

anyone has a suggestion on howto remove bootloader unlocked warning at start up

i did rooted the oneplus 6t to get the oneplus McLaren logo on startup by a normal 6t.
with the twrp flash.
i did install the McLaren module by magisk and works for so far.
phone boots up with no probs at all except one thing i am trying to figure out.
when the phone boots up there is a for a few seconds the message bootloader unlocked with a Orange triangle and goes then into the McLaren logo and starts up further as a normal unrooted 6t.
anyways no i am trying to figure out how i can get rid off/bypass that google bootloader unlock message in the first few seconds at startup.
found out that it is possible to get rid of the message by other brands/types of phones.
but i cant put the things together howto do this on a 6t nor find any related information on the web.
it is not a really big issue/problem for me.
but i want to write a howto get the complete McLaren experience on a normal 6t included fingerprint animation themes and the ar thing (for the booklet) so far i have everything complete except that message.
and to make a complete howto i also want to include how to get rid of that message.
also i found out that there is a way to buy the McLaren back cover so it Will look and handle as a McLaren edition and then the only difference Will be the extra ram what is missing and the warp charge (hardware related stuff which cant be changed).
any help on this one is appreciated.
PS i know i can get rid of the message by unrooting it and locking the bootloader again but that's not what i am looking for.
trying to keep the McLaren things altogether without going back to full stock (and without bricking the phone off course).
best regards.
Short answer is you can't.

I doubt that but lets wait what others have to say about it

It's been possible before with certain older devices, it's more complicated than you think. Chances are very slim.. closer to a not possible, if ever.

I indeed found out that it is very complicated on other phones but it could be done on older phones i Will wait the reactions on this xda thread thanks in advance for replying.
No need for this thread when there's already a WIP thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/development/wip-dissecting-bootloader-aka-rid-t3878470
Thread in the wrong section (I don't even know in which section it should go, let's say Q&A), and subject is as mentioned above been discussed since years for OnePlus phones and the short answer will always be the same
YOU CAN'T GET RID OF THAT SCREEN WHILE UNLOCKED
Read the thread linked above should have been the first thing done

Go to that thread and you will find that it isn't possible.
You will need a signed boot loader from OnePlus that does not have the splash screen. Good luck with that.
It has to be there for Android trusted boot. Google requires it.
Thanks for pointing out the right topic didn't find it sorry forum posting it in the wrong section made a thread over here because xda said when i made a account i couldnt posted it in the developer section because i am a junior member (found that a bit funny,i am familiar with Linux backtrack, android rooting and all the stuff what Comes with it and also a bit programming with Windows) but thanks anyways topic can be closed i Will continue on the wip thread as a junior ? my wife got her degree in Windows networking programming but she has to ask me always hunny can You help me with something i cant solve (and i haven't got any degrees at school Just plain old hobby playing with software and stuff)
Some devices have fixed for that like https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-remove-unlocked-bootloader-warning.4069207/
So stop say that "YOU CAN'T DO THAT"
Any news on this matter for OP?

Try using Universal SafetyNet Fix module. It hides the unlocked bootloader from system too

That module does nothing for the message that appears during boot.

That's the difference. You talking about Xiaomi in a OnePlus thread, very different breed. Many apologies fam.
On my other phones there's been a method to cover it up. For Motorola devices, there are many custom splash screens that are an overlay, covering the words with an image

It's impossible on this device because the OnePlus 6/6T is made different from other devices and that warning cannot be modified due to how it is made. This was the very first thing I set out to do and from searching on our forums I learned this to be true. It's impossible on 6/6t.

This is something a lot of people need to understand.
All androids devices are not equal. Depending on the device even the bootloader is different so the same tricks don't work on all devices.
Has their been ways for other devices? Yes by exploiting a hole in the system. This is still an actively updated device. You will have to wait a few before a hole like that can be found and more importantly not patched.
Now on the other hand. This is Xda. Nothing is impossible. So by all means dig in and find the hole and come back and share it. I'm sure there are those here willing o help.

Downgrade Oxygen OS without root

Hi, since Oxygen OS is going to be updated to remove the Photochrom filter, if I buy the device in a year, could I just downgrade to have the feature? I don't want to root it to preserve security. Never had Oxygen OS or any OnePlus device, no idea how this works.

There is almost always a way to downgrade, however there is almost always a set of horror stories stating the users phones have been bricked.
Unless it's completely necessary I would avoid that procedure.
Or
Tread very carefully

Would you mind posting a guide to down grading? I keep getting an error that says I can't go to an older version

Not via a conventional means no, but you can. There's a guide already on the 8 pro forum.
Here's you go.
Make sure to read this before you do anything
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8-pro/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-8-pro-t4083997
I will be making a guide at some point.
