Hi,
I have a slightly older logitech webcam C210. On the nvidia homepage, I found a rather general information that logitech webcams would be supported. However, after connecting the webcam, nothing happens. I would like to use the webcam with zoom, but zoom doesn't find the webcam.
Any ideas how I could make this work?

Has anyone looked into this? With the audio now being output there, is there another pin carrying video that's yet undiscovered? Thanks.
nope no video out from what ive researched. even if there were, its qvga resolution so you are fairly limited.
you could your soti pocket controller to control your pda from your PC, you get a real time feed of you ppc on your pc.
hope this helps.
adios...
It is definitely possible to do it (even that I have no idea how).
Ateksoft has a program called WebCamera Plus which let you use your PDA as real-time webcam.
http://www.ateksoft.com/webcamplus.html
I'm using it on my TyTN and it works great.
using a pda or symbian smart phone as a webcam is possible as the software captures the straming video and transmits its as data packetrs via usb or BT to a PC, in which it is then decoded on the PC and the image/video stream from the camera is formed.
Actual video out (such as that accomplished with notebooks) via usb on the TYTN is another thing - from what I have read it might not be possible.
Anyone seen or tried the MicroSD version of this http://www.spectec.com.tw/sdv.htm ?
its really funny u askd this cus just last night b4 I went to bed, I wondered the same thing
I googled video out via usb and found a 60 dollar cable that converted from standard usb to s-video and audio and I'm sure theres mini-usb to usb converter
=) so hope that helps. I'd look it up but I have no 3g here at my parents lake house =/ I'm connectd over gsm, just got here. I get no umts at all and barely any gsm signal. this craps slow
I looked on the net for the Spectec Video-To-Go microSD Card and found it here

It's $171.95. this would be great if I was still doing customer presentations.
Please note: This product does not convert the screen’s image into a VGA video signal. ... then what exactly does this do .. has me confused since some time ...
Also, these things require SDIO support .. not sure if TyTN got one ..
It'd be easy enough to emulate VGA on your device and use that for presentations, but your limitation is lack of an I/O to the graphic chip. As such, you're stuck with streaming the display data, which will be slow (for games), but perhaps perfectly fine for a slideshow.
Next prob though is the hardware - you can stream from device to device, but not stream from device to a (mini-usb) wire to a projector etc - at least the hardware issues are well beyond my experience.
A streaming projector might be a good solution. But all in, I think you're generally stuck for a cheap solution to outputing video over USB without a surrogate device in the middle. And if you're gonna have a surrogate, you might as well use that as the display device.
Check out nyditot for a VGA emulator.

May I suggest a better way? Simply install PC-based Powerpoint viewer on storage card. That way you merely need to drop your card into an USB SD reader, connect the reader to any host PC, and run your presentation. I do this often and avoid traveling with my laptop.

One reason I've always disliked the Ateksoft solution is that it requires installation of Ateksoft magicry on the PC. A true webcam solution should simply make the PPC act like a dumb webcam, piping the audio and video to the USB. We've all experienced those cheap webcams which you just plug in to your USB port, and MSN or Yahoo or whatever can pick up the device as an audio/video webcam, no installation of drivers required.
Software which does for webcam what Softick does for USB mass storage is what I'm after...
You didn't say what you wanted by 'video out'.. but I can tell you there aren't any 'unused' pins in the USB pinout. They're all audio or usb data. If the TYTN supported usb on the go (which it doesn't seem to) then you might see it turn into a mass storage device or webcam easily..
But for the moment, no, theres no pins to tap a composite or vga signal off of. I highly doubt the device has such a chip on board.
eh, I wanted to output video to my car A/V system. since I can sync the video on my device to my media center, that would be the easiest way to take shows to my car. so the streaming or flash solutions really don't address the problem for me...thanks for all of the thinking on it, though
ditto here

That's the kinda stuff i've always wanted e.i. connecting my PDA to the SVideo Input of my car screen.
Seems "easy" to do with activesync, but seems to cause trouble because of the lack of video stream on usb pinout.
I'm just letting out an idea : Might be possible to emulate an activesync connection and capture the sreeen of the PDA and broadcast it out on svideo.
(don't ask, I don't even have a clue of how to do that)
SOTI Pocket controler and My Mobiler can do that, any chance someone find out a way ?
TY Guys, have fun
Is there software out there that will let you use your ppc as a mouse on your laptop? If not would it be possible to do have such an app that could use the touch screen as a mouse? Or better yet, would it be possible to use the camera on the ppc as sort of a laser mouse? Also could it be used over bluetooth and or USB? Then set up parts of the screen as left and right click buttons with a scroll area.
Just a thought.
JD
not laser i think you mean optical mouse
problem is that optical mice have a dieode to give it
light so it can detect the movements
if you just put your phone on the back
all it will photo is darkness
yes, im current use Salling Clicker to control my PC via Wifi, it have some plugins to control WMP, BSPlayer, and the default system controls are mouse (touch the screen to move the cursor), shutdown, restart work great!
good luck
Sorry, yes it is optical. When I was thinking of this I flipped my mouse over and that darn light shot right in my eye. From that point on all I could think about was LASER's LOL. Going to give Salling Clicker a try, looks very promising although it would be cool to be able to use my phone as an OPTICAL mouse using the camera. And your right with the camera flat on a surface all you see is black, but with the flashlight on and the camera raised slightly off the serface you would be able to detect motion.
Still just thinking out loud.

Please use the Wiki. PPCTablet is what you're looking for - see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=FullTextSearch&s=ppctablet

Not yet - albeit, for the Smartphone platform, there are some attempts to implement this (see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...e news: new betas of SmartToolkit and IM+ etc ). It certainly will be MUCH worse (if it will be implemented at all) than the hardware accelerometer-based solutions (see for example Nokia N95), though.
the PPC wifi or bluetooth mouse would be cool! on the wizard the flash diode could supply the light to the camera. I've wanted this ever since I tried PPCtablet.
I can already use my Wizard as a webcam using coolcam. To be able to use it as a mouse would really rock. the ultimate laptop accessory!
Is it possible to stream video from the Touch camera via wifi to a PC on the same wireless network, i.e. use it as a remote webcam?

You might want to try this
Thanks for this, but it seems to be a program to monitor remote webcams on your PDA - what I need is the reverse, monitor the video from my PDA (Touch/Elf) camera remotely on my PC.

Sorry 'bout that: never came upon such an app...
try here
http://www.warelex.com/products/webcam/
works over wifi and activesync/bluetooth too iirc
Or try WebCamera Plus from Ateksoft: http://www.ateksoft.com/webcamplus.html .
did not know about that one, just tried it and its alot better will be switching to it. works with camera+ at better resulution than mobolia webcam (have to set swap colours to 1)
It is the driver for EasyCAP (and other) usb based capture devices. If anyone can do it, or even lead me to an explanation of how to do it myself, it would be greatly appreciated .
Just an FYI, I want to use my A500 as a monitor for First Person Flying of an RC Airplane, instead of lugging my laptop around .
I guess no one has any ideas?

why you would want an asus webcam driver is beyond me, but here's all I found on it
http://askubuntu.com/questions/37308/how-to-compile-asus-syntec-webcam-driver-stk11xx
I need it for FPV flying, so I can use my easycap USB video capture for live video view. I use a live video transmitter on an RC airplane and a receiver on the ground to watch the stream and fly with it, would be a lot more useful if I could use my tablet instead of lugging my laptop to the field.
I too exactly what I want with a FPV Raptor, I hope there is some solution.
(I have an Advent Vega.)
I have tried easycap for use as a DSLR liveview monitor but also run into same problems due to my limited understanding of porting linux drivers to Android.
After proving UVC webcam app found here brain.cc.kogakuin.ac.jp/research/usb-e.html following other threads, I have now found but not yet purchased a UVC Device UCD-210 from misumi.com.tw which I think would be a good alternative for what you are trying to achieve.

Any ideas? I need to be able to start and stop video recording on my lg v20. I am getting soft quality video from the front facing camera so i need to use the primary camera.
I have a hdmi lcd panel and slimport to hdmi on the way but now i wont be able to see and use the phones touch panel any longer.
So i need a way to start and stop video recording.
Ideally be able to switch between wide and narrow sensors as well but lacking that is ok.
I found a bt remote on amazon with dedicated photo and video buttons but it does not work. Only for photos not video.
Suggestions?
Teamviewer or something similar? Wireless mouse?
Screen sharing would be perfect but 3rd party software Solutions are horrible with way too much lag to be useful I already tried wireless mouse doesn't work because there's no way to see the screen to know what I'm clicking on unless... The wireless mouse cursor shows up in the HDMI screen then that might work a little cumbersome but it might work can I plug a USB C Hub and still use the slimport HDMI out? Although I could use a Bluetooth mouse... I will have to try that
