New Update CPH1919EX_11_C.33 - OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Guides, News, & Discussion

January security update

Received the c33 update today in The Netherlands

For the 10X are more updates present then for the 10X 5G, we are still on C.28. I hope there will be a future update to Color OS 11. It´s annoying, that this model is treated so stiffly.

My phone is still stuck in fastboot mode and I got the global version.

What is your model - 5G or 10x-Zoom? Did you flash the wong firmware?

I have the global version reno 10x zoom and have unlocked boot, and I think I pulled the partion table.

My Oppo received this update several days ago. Since then I've noticed that default notification sound ALWAYS activates for every notification, even in Silent Mode. I had to mute it. Has anyone noticed same bug?

I finally found out the reason why everybody's flashing the 10 time zoom the global version and they're getting soft bricked. That freaking phone actually have an a&b partition. I'mma throw this up here y'all look at it it drove me crazy I couldn't believe it!!!!!! That is what has been stopping me for so long. Oppo u suck china berries!!!!

So the million dollar question is if Axon 7 will get anytime Android O or Not

So few weeks ego we had Google announcement for next major version of Android OS and since ZTE in the recent past not had a good reputation of providing major software upgrade and support for extended time so what do you thinking all of you Axon 7 users?
Will we get the next software version or stuck with Nougat and that’s it and no more software support and development.
Keep in mind that Oneplus already announced that 3/3T will get Android O but from ZTE we didn’t hear anything till now.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Simple answer... No I don't think it will officially. This will be over a year old by the time it's even released for Pixel.

I don't know shlt about custom ROM development, but why do you think that development would stop if ZTE stops making official updates? That is not the case on a lot of other old devices, for example without going too far back the Moto G 2 (2014) stopped receiving updates on Marshmallow, but pretty much as soon as Nougat rolled out, we got CM14. Even that old HTC HD2 phone got Android N after 7 years...
The only reason I can think of is the kernel stuff... again, no idea
I think it will get the update, the hardware is capable and the phone runs great so i don't see why not.

Oh, if only that would be enough for OEMs to continue releasing newer versions of Android for their devices. If that would be the case, almost all device generations from the past 3 years would get Android O, because the hardware is more than enough for it to run smoothly. My old Galaxy S1 (end of support at Android 2.2) and S4 (end of support at Android 5) were running Android Marshmallow and Nougat absolutely amazing and far better than any of their older OEM rom.
But on the Axon on the other hand: On custom roms as long as Daydream isn't running as fine as it is on stock roms, i am unfortunately stuck on stock and hoping for the good development community to claim that last hurdle for me to finally switch over.
Would anyone keep their Axon 7 long enough to notice whether or not O comes out? ZTE doesn't support Lineage OS, the radios are weak and unstable, the camera gets dust in it, the OIS burns out, Do Not Disturb still malfunctions, the Settings UI is incomplete, the microphones cut out, etc. Those with battery drain issues will reaching end-of-life soon.

Those don't really happen to everyone... Except for the radio stuff. I even took apart my phone and there isn't any dust below the lens. And i'm not living inside a Class 10 Clean room...
My DND mode is working just fine, mic fine, and if you have battery drain you can RMA or at least reflash a full stock system if it's not a hardware problem

Also regarding "ZTE doesn't support Lineage OS" Which OEMs actually support it?

no oem supports lineage, but you're right. they kind of promised to support cyanogenmod. weak radio drives me crazy, sometimes it loses internet for a few moments, i have this phone since january and have no dust in camera, and ois works well. tired of stripes in app in low light though. dont know about do not disturb. settings are complete garbage. generally i use polish language and phone is half polish half english.. that's a joke as i got it through official retailer in poland. about microphone - i got dirt in there, had to peel it off with a needle. same happens with speakers grills all the time. have no issues with battery though.
i think this phone might get android o, but sadly it might be its last update. and more sadly, the update itself might not be good quality

I'm not saying all the problems exist at once, but they're common and still happening. I just had ZTE clean the dust out of my camera and my radio frequently cycles off and on. Some people can't stop rapid battery drain even when the phone shows that it is not awake.
I haven't had an OPPO in a while because they don't have the right LTE bands, but they used to fully support 3rd party ROMs. Flashing and anti-bricking features were built into my Find 7.
After reading your posts about the radio problems and dust in the camera, I haven't notice no one of those drawbacks. So I'm in France and my career Bouygues give me a very strong signal, most of the time in 4g+ and no dust problem. I'm with the stock Nougat B04 (Android 7.1.1) and very happy with it.

I think the main reason to stay stock is the fact that there aren't any good alternatives. Pretty much all the posted ROMS have some deal-breaking bugs in some way or another. Pretty disappointed by the scene for this phone. It's a great device and I haven't had the issues discussed in this thread but looks like absolutely no one's interested in it. My only annoyance is the fact that they claimed how open this phone would be but it's got tons of nonsensical restrictions I've never come across before like not being able to set your own default dialer app without installing a custom ROM and outside app call recording does not work - which ZTE shows no signs of adding as a feature to their mandatory dialer app.

I dunno how it works in your country, but these settings should get you by. I find them to be universal so far. I get full 4G LTE on stock.
Name: [Bouygues] (or whatever name you want, doesn't matter)
APN: Internet
APN type: default, supl, hipri
Then save and switch to the newly created APN.
Those are the settings that work for me, no problems at all.

I'll try thank you
Another thing, when I do *#*#4636#*#* and "select band", I only get "USA", but I'm on official Nougat from ZTE DE and I have an A2017G
I also can't choose my prefered network in this menu: I mean only LTE or LTE/GSM or TD-CDMA
At the moment, i'm trying a full fresh install with the package from ZTE DE and let the phone do all the OTA update

Yes, that is probably best if you've tinkered with the band settings. It can be a headache and mess your internet settings up. Try the suggestion I gave you after the fresh install. That won't be a problem if you want to delete it later.
After reading the issues done if you guys are having... i can only suggest to get the Chinese variant ???. It's a brilliant phone for me and I've had no issues with it... Probably the best phone I've had. I have sitting in the draw 2 note 4, note 3 s1, xperia x1( collectors item those 2).... But this phone as far as I'm concerned is the dogs bolloks..
Only thing for me is now that the sun is out.... The screen doesn't get bright enough in the sun

I have the A2014G for a couple of months now and no problems at all.
No dust or radio problems.
If it would get Android O?, probably not, but I think they will give us a final 7.1.2 release before passing to work in the Axon 8 (or whatever the name is), and probably we would get some security patches every 3 months.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if they would do that, because pretty much all the versions of Android are similar since Marshmallow, and for me Android O brings nothing interesting enough to want the update.
ROM's are all based in Lineage, so all they share the same problems and issues, so for this phone, I would say stay in stock if you really want a fully functional phone.

Community development strength

You're a power user. Can the Honor V10 keep up? Rate this thread to express how "healthy" the development scene is for the Honor V10. A higher rating indicates available root methods, kernels, and custom ROMs.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I like the mobile myself but I have no idea if this company releases kernel sources or allows unlocked bootloaders easily.

dude, how many phones did get oreo ? even the recently launched op5t (next to pixel in software updates ) has nougat pre installed . wait for 2018, you will surely get. and believe me, Oreo already has battery drain bug and that's why 8.1 launched recently .
consider famous brands like s8 and note 8 , they are still using nougat.
Of all oreo devices out there now is in beta phase only.
so.. do you want slow update STABLE os or do u want fast update BUGGY os ? believe me, i have used honor 6 and oneplus 3 and i certainly felt like you before switching to oneplus 3 but the weekly or frequent updates made a headache for me. well that's may be just me. but it's also a fact. neither am against a company nor am favouring anyone but i just stated my point
I don't know if everybody here thinks wrong, or I am wrong . Honor v10 comes with Oreo out of the box.

dude, what about Nokias, HTC U11, U11+, some Honors already, Xperia XZ1, Compact, Xiaomi, and many others, not mentioning all with Android One program? And "consider famous brands like s8 and note 8 , they are still using nougat..." Well, thats just Samsung, never been so fast with updates, nor it's a famous brand, the s8 or note 8 (but you've meant models, not brand, right?).
Honor v10 comes with oreo and treble support, so you can't even compare that to pre oreo phones that were born with nougat. In theory the treble support and the fact that Huawei released the kernel sources for this phone straight away, should allow for some decent community development
On top of that, I think Huawei was just giving out 100 free devices to willing developers because they want to strenghth the custom rom community for this phone
I think honor really trying to compete with one plus by helping developers by providing all the hardware details and documentation to develop custom Roms for the Honor View 10 and with the treble support soon we will get many custom Roms. I hope developers will take interest in this device.

Which community? Since the bootloader is locked this device is crap for me. I will replace my Honor view 10 with an OnePlus . Cu
Dead.. Community development is bad.
Broken recoveries.
Difficult and buggy flash procedures that render different results.
What works on one phone isn'tguaranteed to work on the next of the same make and model.
Really nice hardware.. Just tedious flash procedures.
Many other companies willingly help developers... While honor steals improvements and then locks down their phones.
If you really want a flash friendly phone.. Huawei and honor isn't.
My next phone will be a Samsung Galaxy note 10 international version.
If you're looking for a development-friendly phone, Honor is not the solution for you. We do have a program where we give out bootloader unlock codes to a select number of people every once in a while, but there is no official support for unlocking your bootloader. This results is a very small development community.

At first the I felt the screen was erring. Screen would register random clicks now and then. Keyboard Typing was very buggy because of those random clicks. Then, I got another update remarked as security and stability update.
From then on everything is fine.

I hope they will publish it soon.
Could you please tell me if root and twrp work on single sim model?
Thanks in advance.

You knew when you bought the phone that it wasnt htc 1st priority based on its flop. Other phones didnt get it long ago, so its not only htc.

My first impressions from the update are positive. Neutron player is now working in high resolution audio mode, google camera mod is more stable and performance is same like on nougat at least in geekbench 4. Will make further tests in the upcoming days and see how it goes.

Also update arrive in Romania on Orange carrier... And a question, need to reset phone for better performance ?
I did a reset just in case, to get a clean slate
I just wiped the cache, so far no issues.
I did not wipe cache or reset anything and so far do not see any performance difference compared to nougat.

Utterly Confused About the S10+ Firmware Updates

I have the AT&T branded version of the S10+ , meaning I bought it from AT&T. So if you are on another carrier or have the unlocked version, this post might be of no use to you!
I have had the phone a little over a month. Since I have had it, it has gone thru several firmware updates that are confusing the hell out of me. Here's my trek log:
Phone came with firmware SD3.
About a week later it updated itself to SD7.
Some weeks later SD9 came around (I think).
I noticed the security level patch was being updated to a semi current month and that is it aside somewhere I read something about night mode on the camera (which I have) and also found a new QR scanner icon.
After that, it updates to firmware SR7 or S something 7 (I forgot the middle letter).
I was on this firmware until yesterday when it updated to SG8. I was on SG8 about 5 minutes before it said another update was available. What gives!?!? So many updates! AHHHHHH!
I read that the Sxx update (I forgot the middle letter and end number this time) just fixes some bug about the lock screen. I wasn't even experiencing said bug! Why do I need the update!?!?
So this morning after connecting to my wifi last night my phone yet again updated itself, (even though I kept telling it to remind me later) this time to SGB.
I am freaking confused Mr. Bigglesworth!
Can someone help and enlighten me here? I come from the S3 and S4 days of the galaxy line, back then only serious updates (like the patch for stage fright) and OS updates rolled out. These new seemingly random and nonessential updates are very new to me.
I'm not on AT&T and people with Samsung phones almost invariably complain about not receiving updates so your complaint is novel.
SGB is the latest Samsung build--unlocked S10+ phones got it this week (after several months with no updates) and Verizon got that update last week.
Your many intermediate updates might be coming from AT&T and be updating or fixing the carrier specific stuff they added to your phone.

so the interesting part of the firmware's are the last 6 letters on my phone those are U3ASG8.
the u3a part is the version of the bootloader you are on (this is not downgradable), so I am on the 3rd version of the bootloader.
the last 6 letters in my case SG8
-S is for the year, so in 2020 it will become T
-G is for the month (A for January, B for February and so on)
-8is the build number (they test internally find any problems then increase the version...)
if you want to find what the updates improved check
http://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-G975F/LUX/doc.html
just change SM-G975F to your model and change LUX to your region. This is everything they say in the changelog for the update on the phone too. If it repeats the same stuff as last month that most of the time means that it was just a security update.

You know I did read somewhere that the firmware letters and numbers meant the bootloader, month, year, and build number. I didn't know I could check a site to see what the updates did/do, thanks for the post but I tried changing the lux to US and 975F to 975U but it came back with a 404 error.
