Does anyone know when Oreo will be released for the single sim model? I can see that nearly everyone else has it already although there seems to be some problems too. I'm in Aus btw if that matters

An HTC guy said on twitter it should be fairly close. He couldn't give a specific date but I think this month the update for uhl should role out.
I hope they will publish it soon.
Could you please tell me if root and twrp work on single sim model?
Thanks in advance.
Better ready and with no bugs then soon with high temp and battery drain.

you consider 8 months after HTCs official announcement as soon?
You knew when you bought the phone that it wasnt htc 1st priority based on its flop. Other phones didnt get it long ago, so its not only htc.
update is live...
Should get a custom rom soon i hope
My first impressions from the update are positive. Neutron player is now working in high resolution audio mode, google camera mod is more stable and performance is same like on nougat at least in geekbench 4. Will make further tests in the upcoming days and see how it goes.
Confirm update oreo 2.21.401 single sim Italy 1.77GB

same for me
Nothing for me in UK yet
Oreo update arrived on my U Ultra - single sim, from Amazon Spain.
I did a factory reset and reinstalled everything, now I'm gonna charge it back to 100% and see how the phone behaves.
Also update arrive in Romania on Orange carrier... And a question, need to reset phone for better performance ?
I did a reset just in case, to get a clean slate
I just wiped the cache, so far no issues.
I did not wipe cache or reset anything and so far do not see any performance difference compared to nougat.
2.21.401.1 arrived...Greece
Same Sh1t... Different Day
It's in Croatia also (on single SIM)

The new firmware just released in Japan is R1EA025.
More details to come later as I play with it
u updated via?
I updated from the phone. So far the UI seems much more responsive. I gained a Mora Touch icon which is specific to this region, but other than that I haven't found anything else new as it's still too early.
Excellent news. Hopefully other regional handset updates shouldn't be too far behind.
Great News Hope we (Nordic firmaware) get an update soon as well
But that firmware must be older than there is now R1FB, that's R1EA therefore is older
Oh yes, i think you are right We have already R1FB001
Did you have any troubles updating? I've got 1.0.09 baseband and R1EA018 on my SO-01B but every time I try to do an update it says that I already have the latest version. I tried using the phone and the SE update service but neither one works. Any ideas why I can't update my phone?
UPDATE: It looks like this update was meant to be released in a few days but came out early by mistake. The update has been taken down as of around 9pm on the 28th. Sources: mineral85.blog16.fc2.com/blog-entry-162.html (5.28 postscript) and k-tai.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20100528_370243.html
Some of the improvements I notice with this new firmware is the battery life is MUCH better under constant use. It also charges much faster too. The touch screen is more accurate as well. I get less typing errors than before. Also a new keyboard was added for Japanese input.
According to Docomo this firmware wasn't supposed to be released until mid-June and they are asking their customers to go to the Docomo store to downgrade.

Another new keyboard for Japanese input..?? I like the one we've got now, what's different with this new one?
Edit: nevermind! i should've clicked the links first. It looks like the new keyboard is hanabi style like the iPhone.

OK, I'm an Android phone snob. Chronic flasher, thought I'd only buy Nexus devices. Pixel XL not good enough for me. As much of a Google fan I am, that device is not an upgrade and looks like an iPhone. I'm keeping my Nexus 6, have Verizon grandfathered unlimited data, the Mate 8 will be a new play phone for me and wanted something flashy (LOL) with a BIG screen. I bought a pretty crystal butterfly grip/stand which will look so cool with the gold. Looks like a great device.
Was waiting for the Mate 9, but couldn't wait any more and seems the 9 isn't a huge upgrade from the 8. Processor looks better but I think I'll be happy with the 8, then wait for the 10 hoping that they make a little improvement with the screen resolution (I know it's not a huge difference to the eye, but still...).
I'm excited to unlock and root this thing, looks like the guides are pretty strong. Reading a lot on the ROM/tool options. Haven't unlocked bootloader on a device or rooted for 2 years since my N6....should be interesting. Not a large amount of development but I think I'll be happy here and will have a new hobby.
Welcome aboard!

Hi,
I can sense the happiness in your writing I feel the same too. Just purchased Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10 few days back. As soon I received my phone, I updated it to Android Nougat and the results are outstanding.
Phone is so much better. Battery life is fantastic. I already crossed 10 hour mark (screen on time) twice so far easily. Features are all working. I was bit sad not to find "double tap to wake up" by default even though I found few apps on google play store which fulfill this requirement. I was pleasantly surprised to find Call recording available even without root. Fingerprint feature is new for me, my previous phones didn't have it so I am really enjoying this feature. Camera is good too. Overall, Huawei did a brilliant job with this phone. There are so many reasons to smile with this phone. It is perfect in every way.
Huawei Mate 9 seems to have a better processor, GPU and camera. At the moment, it is expensive for me but I hope I am able to purchase it in coming months . I love Android phones, tablets and high performance laptops. I used to flash a lot with Samsung phones and tablets few earlier but I reduced it significantly over the years. And at the moment I am just having loads of fun with Mate 8 with Nougat I am sure you will have plenty of fun too once you update to Nougat. I highly recommend updating to Nougat to everyone. It is really awesome on this phone.
Cheers!

Hi,
You are right. There are bugs.
I have NXT-AL10 there are two more updates after B562. B573 and B575. They are slightly ok. I don't know what is the equivalent version of that for your model L29.But you might find minor improvements in the updates.
Can you take a screenshot of settings-> account e-mail>"add account" page?
Thanks,

So I spent several hours today with my Mate 8 unlocking bootloader and rooting. It was a little tricky, primarily with drivers issues - every device is different with unlocking/rooting. The whole DC unlocker and reading bootloader code - what fun!
So now I have a Mate 8 with unlocked bootloader and rooted...now what to do? Now I'm researching the different ROM options, nougat, etc. It still seems tricky with the encryption thing and the builds/versions thing and isn't as straight forward!
Back...to the boards.... LOL.
Love the device -- glad I got this thing.
just bought one a few hours ago today. replaced my (absolutely ****e battery life) 6P guess I know which board I will be on all night long tonight

If you're going to unlock and root it, give a shout if you run into any problems. I made it through but a few hiccups along the way.
Now the decision is what ROM to do!!!
It can get a bit tough especially with the bootloader code stuff. I recently did it myself and flashed it to L29c636b211 from c636b320 both stock and its running incredibly smooth and fast. Battery life is very solid as well.

Feel so embarrassed, the part on the bootloader code reading that got me what I thought I was all set when clicking Unlock OEM in developers settings and thought I didn't need to call in to change to manufacturer mode, but after a couple hours I realized I needed to do that! I'm glad though that I didn't wait the 14 days to get the code - seriously my impatience is worse than the $4.
If anyone has opinions on what ROM to flash please share. After the unlocking and rooting I'm ok with setting with a rooted stock Mate 8, but I'll get restless soon..... LOL.

i don't know why but i just got a feeling that you are flashoholic just like me, i was ok with stock rooted rom, but i needed to try something else, to change things a bit, so i had to flash nougat, and after that i found my self wanting to root, and i did it, so i am on rooted nougat Rom, i am so glad i did it, but still want more Lol

How did you get to nougat ROM? I am on l29. I am not clear how to get to any ROM given encryption and different builds and what you have to flash back to. Lol.

well i'm on L09 but the diference is just the model files everything else must be identical, the steps i followed are the following: 1- install twrp in your current emui version which i guess in your case should be 4.0 2- download the nougat Rom and the data file for your model and put it on your sd card 3-flash the rom first and then the data file (so far you are still encrypted but as you are using the sd card to flash the files then twrp is able to see them) 4- after you flash both of the files you will boot to nougat and can complete the initial settup process 5- now to get root (optional) you can flash twrp for nougat using fastboot and then the recommended supersu, the thread to do that is located somewhere in the development forum if i am not mistaken.... i know it was quite lenghthy but those are the steps i followed.

Thanks - very helpful! Helps me to understand the steps better.
I'm still reading about the ROM options - KangVIP, Twisted, Nougat...to see what I want to try first. :silly:
Keep us posted on what rom you try. Im also looking into nougat roms but have read so far they are not fully stable yet. My current rom, b211, runs perfect for me so i dont want to run into issues with essentially beta builds.

Mega fail for sony seriously
That's what we get when there's rushed release but I prefer they do release like that and can get way more bugs info and fix it faster than an internal non daily user beta tester

I've commented in other threads, but once again - a **** - up of colossal proportions from Sony. The Marshmallow update was released 5 months after Google pushed it to its nexus devices, now it will be 6 months at minimum.

Same here, but I downladed and flashed Phillipines version
nothing buggy on mine with clean install Cust. AU. just 3rd party apps which uses own or sony's equalizer has a little lower sound. and it can be PATCHED with minor update. that isnt explain why they roll back update.

Im planning to buy a phone bt confused...recently i saw LG G6 priced with 27k in amazon..so i thought it to buy...bt confused is SD821 can still perform good in 2k18..i play games like pubg or Rules of suvival...so these games can be playable right??..nd what about oreo update..i heard it came recently...is face lock added? Nd hws the battery life in oreo...plz clear my thoughts...Thnx
The phone despite having sd821 is good in performance and smothness. I would suggest you to buy an unlockable bootloader device for doing some tweaks in the case you want to experiment a bit. The battery life it's okay, I get between 4-5:30h sot normally with heavy usage, youtube, whatsapp, instagram, games, etc. If you experiment less battery life I suggest to do a clean installation and hard reset of the android version. It has face unlock, which is really fast, android 8.0 with april-may security patch (depends of the model) and the overall experience is awesome for the actual price of 300-350$€.

if you can get it for about 300-320 bucks i wold say is a pretty damn good price, i bought mine 1 month ago and i pay 365 for it and i never regret it, i like a lot the phone is a beast.
no 2k18 phone at this price range can beat LG G6 so, go for it.
if you want to unlock bootloader check LG bootloader unlock site to see what models can be unlocked.

I'm on the October 2017 update for TMO with my Nexus 6. Having issues with camera slowness and some all-round sluggishness. Did the full factory reset thing about 3 months ago but it didn't really help much. So I'm wondering if flashing a DEV ROM will help. And which ROM? I need VOLTE / USA TMO support. Stability and usability are more important than raw speed or latest & greatest. Reading through the threads, there's clearly a LOT to choose from. Am I right that none of the PIE ROMs do VOLTE for TMO correctly? Anyways, long live Shamu.
Recommendations?
This is the ROM I recommend; https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/aosip-8-1-official-t3801408.
If you want to stay on 7.1, I would use this; https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/rom-5-1lightromstock-lmy47e-03-19-2015-t3059493.
I would remind you that the battery in your N6 is about 4-5 years old so replacing it would be in order.

Sounds good. So it fully supports TMO VOLTE? I went to the ROM thread and didn't see it specifically mentioned. I know you're right about the battery. I need to find someone to do that. Any recommendations? I've had mixed success opening cameras, phones & tablets up to do ****. I've gone from hero to goat.
