TicWatch Pro 3 LTE and eSIM - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please, give me an advice.
I bought a TicWatch Pro 3 LTE.
I've received eSIM from my operator (T-Mobile).
I would like to import it into my watch.
But in the Mobvoi application on the phone I do not see the option "Communication settings", "Scan eSIM QR code", etc ...
And on the same network (T-Mobile Czech) with a similar eSIM.
I'm sure it worked on the older model (Ticwatch Pro 4G / LTE), see attached pictures.
There used to be an option "Scan QR" and the possibility to choose "Other" operator. Now it's gone.
It just looks like the current version of the Mobvoi application has lost this option (?!).
How should I proceed? Will it help to install some other APP? Which one and from what source?
Thanks!

In current Mobvoi app on my smartphone, there is no option to install the eSIM :-(
So how can I make it work?

I'm searching for the same solution. Unfortunately there are no feedbacks from Mobvoi about it.
Maybe they will release a new app version that will unlock this feature that was already available on previous models.

There is no visible option. I think the same, they will enable this feature to this new model. Right now the app seems to "detect" our LTE version like a PRO 3 GPS without eSIM support.

hi the story behind the scenes:
Mobvoi has launched the ticwatch 3 LTE exclusively in cooperation with vodafone.
Unfortunately right now there is no chance to use it with e.g. an T-Mobile e-SIM. (i do have the TW 3 LTE and also an T-Mobile DE Contract)
After launch of the Ticwatch Pro 4G it was the same thing...weeks later they opened the esim functionaltiy for the other providers.
The option "Scan E-SIM QR CODE" is only visible in the mobvoi app when the smartphone is logged in in a vodafone network.

That's a bummer, they need to make the e-sim available to T-Mobile and other carriers...

I have moved all of my development efforts away from XDA.

Ok so I managed to get this sussed out and got it working on EE (UK network.)
The way is actually quite simple - I have a dual SIM phone (note 20 ultra) and one of those SIMs is indeed Vodafone.
I did the following:
1. Switch my primary SIM to Vodafone (could achieve the same thing by just inserting a vodafone sim temporarily.)
2. Force close and relaunch Wear OS app on phone
3. Using newly available "Add a Vodafone SIM to your watch" (or similar) option in Wear OS I selected to Scan a QR code - then just scanned the QR code for the EE SIM (it kept calling it Vodafone in the WearOS app but I completely ignored that and added it anyway.)
4. Restart watch
5. If you get the same result I did - success! You are now connected to whatever network you want.
6. Switch back to your normal SIM on your phone and the watch will remain connected to whatever network you scanned the QR code for.
Really hope this helps someone else!

My case is very similar. I'll try it when I get an eSIM card.
Thanks a lot for your explanation!

Sounds great!
Is there a chance to order the needed(vodafone) SIM via internet with international delivery (to Czech Rep.)? Do they have a prepaid (burner) card?
Or could you give me detailed instructions how, where and what to buy? I'd ask someone I know in UK and she will send me the SIM in a letter.
But: will it work in roaming? I mean: if I obtain the Vodafone UK SIM and if I insert it into my dualSIM phone here in Czech Rep, would I be able to scan the eSIM QR code and install it into my watches?

Si, he probado con O2 y funcionan las llamadas, tal como se indica anteriormente, pero hay que hacerlo con la sim principal sobre todo y funciona bien

Yes, I have tried with O2 and calls work as above, but you have to do it with the main sim mostly and it works fine

I dont know if you've tried, but I just ordered my ee paired esim. Should arrive in the next couple of date. I'll let you know if number sharing works.

Waiting for my Voda pre-paid SIM, and going to order soon the esim watch too from Mobvoi, just waiting to receive the 200 Mobvoi-dollars off coupon (means 280€ off the purchase price) to buy the watch. Esim card will come from T-mobile Hungary.

Dual Operator Profile switching.

Hi Guys,.
Is there such an app that would allow me to swap out my work sim to my own sim on an evening.
I.e. I would like an app that detects what operator sim I am using and automatically choose the correct profile for gprs, mms and sms.
Using Voda for work and O2 payg for personal.
a plugin would be nice that just swaps the operator setiings over.
I am not over bothered about having a dual sim as changing it over manually is easy enough. Just want an easy way to swap the connection settings over.
Just a footnote I recently re flashed to latest T-Mobile rom and needed to run an app that required Compact framework 2.0. It ran like a bag of Sh**e. Dropped back to the o2 rom and everything cool and groovy.

You are looking for a combination of a dual-SIM adapter and the Wivit SSS software.
The Dual SIM adapter holds two sims. The active SIM can be switched by switching off & on the GSM radio (or by going into and out of flight mode).
Just for this purpose SSS (see wivit.com) was developed. It lets you switch sims and show (on today) the active sim (by its phone number).
One thing: SSS is currently not reliable om WM5 (I have used it for more than a year on my Himalaya and am very confident.
Thanks for your reply
Had a quick play with this, however it only changes the operator. I need something that will auto detect the correct operator settings for GPRS MMS etc.
Not really bothered about running the 2 sims at the same time. ]

dw1991: to tell you the truth, the easiest way is just to carry a .cab file with the settings for each operator. One click and it's installed.
I keep one for Orange PAYG, one for O2 contract. I know you don't need it, but I use a cut dual sim on my Magician and never had any problems with this solution.
An autodetecting system could be written, but it'd be over-egging it a bit compared to 2 shortcuts to the .cabs, in a folder on your start menu.
V
Last year I discussed this with the Wivit guys. They planned switching active GPRS network settings linked to SIM switching in some next version of their SSS. Nother was released however since their first 1.0 build. (also i havent seen these guys on this forum for a long time). Pity
Re Cab files
I tried this solution also. Howeve when I double click the cab file on the device it dissappears. Do I have to copy these file across every time |I sync
This cab has some regedits in it that will prevent the .cab files from being deleted after you execute them.
making the CAB's readponly beforehand also solves this!
That's what I want to do!

Hi, vijay555!
I also use 2 SIM cards from different operators in my Excalibur / Dash / HTC S621 and I want to me cabs for changing the connection settings (gprs/mms/wap) more easily.
Can you help me doing that? I use brasilian operators VIVO and Claro (if you find easier making the cabs than explaining how to I can post the settings latter on )
BTW, I use one of the latest Ricky/Kavana 6.1 ROM.
Thanks in advance.

Sending pictures via bluetooth

Hi eveyone, I just got my HTC Magic a couple of days ago and have been finding my feet with it since.
So far so good only I have an issue with sending pitures to another phone via bluetooth.
All past phones I have had for as long as I can remember this has been a fairly straight forward process but I'm getting nowhere with my magic.
I can pair with other phones but it says "paired but not connected". When I select the connect option nothing happens? And if I select the photo and select Menu -> Share bluetooth just isn't an option?
Anyone point my in the right direction please?

Android does not support any bluetooth services other then "hands free".
This means that you can only use BT headsets.
Android (either G1 or Magic) phones cannot natively send files over BT, cannot use BT a modem, etc...
There is not third party tool so far to send files via BT to other devices.
Thanks for the quick reply.
Wow , no big deal I guess, I'm just tight so used to send pictures via BT rather than MMS. Perhaps one of you clever "app maker people" will see the hole in the market.
I'm missing this functionality too
Since you have the entire internet in your hand, I can't really see this being an important feature I'd much rather just publish the photo on Facebook, mail it or something (and if the other device is primitive and the picture necessarily has to be transferred, use MMS^^).
Isn't Google gonna release an update for the HTC magic U.K to have this feature???

It's not just about pictures, two days before I got my Magic I was on a business trip in Portugal, we had a long boring flight home so a colleague asked me to download his favourite Podcast via the hotel WiFi and Bluetooth it over to his phone for the flight (his roaming charges would have cost a fortune). I did that fine with my phone at the time but couldn't do it now with the Magic.
I have also used my phone as a sort of USB storage device, quickly putting files on it from my laptop and walking to another laptop on a separate (and non-connected) network. BT is easier than faffing with USB ports or wires

I found it under Bluetooth Fileshare Bluex. I bought it this morning so it is there. Try searching for 'bluetooth' and check though the list that comes back - there's not that many.
This app works a treat the only thing missing is Bluetooth from a PC to the phone. Phone to phone and phone to PC work just as hoped for. Developers site here Worth a few rating stars in the market.
Does anyone know if this app could be developed for non-rooted phones?

This omission is probably due to Google being a US based company and I have never even heard of anyone in this country transferring a file over bluetooth. It's either a nonexistent feature on our phones or just one of those things that nobody takes advantage of. In the US, bluetooth is synonymous with hands-free headsets and little else. If you ask ten people you might find one who has heard of A2DP, but that's about as complex as bluetooth gets around here.
Most people use the word bluetooth as a noun to describe hands-free headsets. "I'm driving so I'm calling you with my bluetooth!"

How to SIM unlock HD2 w/o foreign SIM card ?

I have T-Mobile US HD2. Called T-Mobile and got unlock code for SIM card. It requires to insert foreign SIM card during procedure.
I do not have foreign SIM card now, but I DO want to unlock it BEFORE I go overseas, because sometimes T-Mobile gives wrong unlock code.
Is there any way to SIM unlock HD2 w/o actually having non T-Mobile SIM card ?
don't think there is, not without the phone tech hardware.

Actually, it's easy. Just navigate to the Windows directory through File Explorer, scroll down and launch the SIMLock application. Pops up with the same screen you get if you boot the phone with a non-T-Mo SIM inside. Surprised more people haven't found that.

Flashing custom ROMs won't affect the sim-unlock.
However, sim-unlocking your phone doesn't make it possible to flash custom ROMs, that's a completely different process
This worked great for me. I requested the unlock code from Tmobile and recieved an email the next day. I browsed to the SIMlock app and entered the code and then I got a message saying the "unlock code accepted".
I requested another unlock code from Tmobile at the same time as this one but 11 days later I still have nothing but an email saying they requested it from HTC. Weird that one was 1 day and the other takes this long.
Thanks for your help on this!

[Q] help with settings for Quantum on Rogers Canada

Hi all,
I'm a total noob with cell phones but I fancied an LQ Quantum so bought an unlocked one that has an at&t branding on it. I've put my Rogers Canada sim card in and set the apn to
internet.com
wapuser1 (username)
wap (password)
which gets the data working no problem. I can't however send MMS messages, which I think is used in the new Mango group chat thing. When I try and send a picture it just says that it couldn't be sent
I've brought up the MFG tool and set the ADC setting to on, taken the sim out, left it on for 5 mins, turned it back on etc. to no avail.
I've also downloaded the network app from the LG store which doesn't work, it just says something about the ADC whether it is on or off.
Is there anyone that knows all this cell phone stuff around that can help me out. Several hours of google searching hasn't turned anything up.
I have the same setup as you and the same problem. There have been a number of discussions in various forums about getting 'unlocked' phones to work with SMS and they all point to some carrier-configured XML file,(which is difficult to find given there is no user-discernable file system), which defines how to interact with MMS. Haven't been able to get mine working either. I'm hoping Mango will help but I might have to wait until Rogers comes out with a WP7 phone with a keyboard.
Try this pls
I bought this phone recently and unlocked it for telus and nothing was working other then calling, I fixed it by opening mfgtool -->engineering-->other setting-->set network profile, then entered the mcc mnc for telus,
after that all my data etc started working the codes for rogers should be
MCC - 302
MNC - 720
don't know if it will work for you on rogers but did for me on telus

Thanks, but where do I set these?
When I go into MFG, select Engineer Menu/Other Setting/Set Network Profile, I get a screen that shows AlwaysON options (ON), Proxy enable optinos (OFF), Auto update options (ON), and Set NW profile for each countries and a list of XML files.
Do I select one of these files?
you are in the right place,
right above the list with the .xml files
you don't see two dialog boxes marked
MCC:___ MC: ____ and a Find Button
I had found this screen and then google MCC MNC and it brought me to this wikipedia page with all the country code carrier cide

Hmmmm, that's not the same as the screen I see. Mine has the same 3 options at the top, but I don't see the Current Network or MCC: MNC: fields or the Find button. Below the options is "Set NW profile for each countries" , then the box below that is populated with a list of .XML files.
I'm on AT&T -- maybe they did something to the MFG software???
That must be it the one I got is a Bell phone, walmart was doing a firesale on them for 80$ I snatched it up in a heartbeat,
if you noticed mine pulled the xml file named
TLS_CA_302_220_ENG.xml
Maybe if you look through the list you will find one similar?
I would assume ATT would be your setting, and your location is canada so it will have the characters 302 in the first set? Wonder if this will help
Did you do the debranding hack in the thread I posted earlier? Wonder if that makes a difference I just did a test and I can pull up the AT&T setting using the codes

have u updated your phone to mango? I noticed that screen changed with an update. Also I had a problem where this screen would not let me into that profile setting with an older version of the mfg app, I had to uninstall it, then do the hack again, now all is fine. I always thought the mfg app was part of the phone, but it must install the xap file when you first use it, but a phone update does not update the xap unless you uninstall it and redo the mfg hack.
This would explain alot, I got this phone as a backup, and before I did anything to it I upgraded it all the way to mango with the disconnect trick THEN did the debrand, mfg tool etc stuff

Yea.. tried that. no difference. I think it IS part of the O/S, firmware -- not downloaded from the net.

From the Rogers Community, I found out that Rogers is 310 & 720, but I can't find an existing .xml file in the list with that combination. My thinking is that the firmware installed on the unit doesn't include the parameters for Rogers and currently, there is no way for me to 'force' those codes. Too bad, it would be cool to get MMS working.
instead of you, i have the right xml file for my network (vodafone) but it fails to apply the setting...what can i do?
you are right I can't seem to bring up the settings with those numbers either, I wonder if there is a way to dump the .xml from a rogers phone and create your own to use.....
Rogers Network Profile

I wasn't able to find the appropriate Rogers XML file on the phone to set the network profile either. The 3 profiles I did find where for Bell, Sasktel, and Telus. I'm assuming no Rogers because they have no intention of bringing the LG Quantum to their network?
I don't have a data plan anyway ... so MMS functionality for me is pointless, correct? I've just been using Wi-Fi.
I need help with this too... I'm using telcel in mexico I found out that my MMC and MNC are 334 and 20...
The problem is that nothing appears on the square at the bottom of "set network profile" and my current network is blank...
help? ?
Possible fix for MMS

Seriously? That actually worked for me =)
Have you tried using the lg network setup application?
Setting the network in the mfg application? Setting ADC to on the mfg application?
There are a lot of ways to make this work... it seems that for some people it is always a different way, but I'm sure you will get it to work. Good Luck! =)

Can you actually send MMS with your current phone plan?
But seriously try the lg network setup

Unfortunately, what works for you (on a different network than Rogers apparently) doesn't work for me.
a) The LG Network Setup app doesn't seem to handle anything in North America.
b) The MFG application (if you'd read the earlier entries to the thread) doesn't have the settings for Rogers -- just for Bell and Telus
c) And the MFG application I have doesn't have the capability to acutally 'set' the APN, ADC, etc. Only to search and pick from the available pre-loaded settings.
d) Yes, my plan includes MMS capability.

Microsoft abandoned open market WP7 phones...

I'm really pissed off with Microsoft...They have totally abandoned open market phones...First, we had a major error with Mango update that made some people to flash a new official rom in order to get that update. I never got a tethering update for my open LG and now I don't even get the latest official 7740 update. I don't f$%^ care about carriers. I bought an officially OPEN device and I demand support, or else they can stop selling us illusions...
Sorry to hear that...
I purchased an open market phone from Amazon (US) and have been it on AT&T. It's the LG E900. Recently, I got the Mango update, and the firmware update for tethering and hidden ssid's. Everything working great!
In the US. I got a Vodaphone Germany.
Vodafone Germany ≠ Open Market.
I'm also pissed of, I bought an open market device, because I wanted updates asap and now we have to wait longer?!
I have thought, that Zune checks phone status: if phone has update notification, Zune will find update immidiately.
So, if we hack phone for update notification, Zune will deliver update to us.
Anyway, it pisses me off, open market phones recieve updates after branded phones.
P.S: Vodafone > Open Market
Added: I got strange thing after setting empty all 3 registry keys: on creation of relationship Zune tells, that I must not disconnect or use phone while update, but still no update!

Getting the update is not equal to getting access to hidden WiFis and Internet Sharing. I've been through all 3 firmwares available to me (German OPN, European OPN, and Vodafone Germany), and I know that at least the German OPN receives a post Mango update called "LG Update". But after applying it you still don't have Internet Sharing and access to hidden WiFis.
I was so sick of this that I eventually flashed the Vodafone firmware to have a Mango phone as Microsoft specc'ed it. Unfortunately now I'm missing out on "Kundencenter" and "NAVIGON select" in the German Marketplace. I hope they will appear sometime in the future. I know I had them while using the Euro OPN firmware with my Telekom.de SIM.
To be honest, I totally hate the way these updates are run. And that Microsoft's support is playing the finger pointing game ("LG is free to disable features in the phone. Complain to them")
Right after Mango I recieved LG update too, but it was far before news about update with hidden wi-fi and internet sharing.
My firmware cycle is Singtel Singapore firmware, Vodafone Germany firmware and Europe Open firmware.
On this forum I saw 1 post about successfull update with open firmware (firmware version became 1.1.4.10) so now I am in search for latest EU OPEN firmware with those features. I lost any hope to recieve update normal way, so I gonna reflash my Optimus 7 again instead of hopeless using of "Update" button in Zune.
I'm not sure this is entirely fair. I the firmware update is for E-900 devices, NOT E-900h (the North American version).
If you have the Mango Update, i.e. 7720, and you don't have Internet sharing, just developer unlock your phone and it should show up.
That's all I had to do to mine, granted mine is Vodafone branded on AT&T, but they seem to play nice.

It didn't work for me.
Developer unlock does nothing without updated driver for wi-fi, which I can't recieve.
AT&T US - E900 - all mango updates hidden SSD, internet sharing
like I said earlier, I have the kg e900 from Vodafone Germany (bought on amazon us) and I have mango with hidden said support and internet sharing at&t us. I received mango when Microsoft rolled out the last update to remaining phones. Also had mfg menu to set to at&t 3G. Never been happier!
I wait for 2 or 3 more days and then I will also flash a Vodafone ROM :/
What a weird world, where a carrier ROM is superior to the OPN ROMs.

I guess that in the US, most of the people use carrier contracts because they are ultra cheap, but I don't think this is the rule with the rest of the world. It seems that Microsoft has initially organized WP7 support around what US needs.
Generally speaking, Microsoft has "forced me too" to flash my e900 devices with Vodafone ROMs in order to get the updates. If second generation open market WP7 devices have the same (open market device specific) restrictions with the updates, I won't buy a WP7 again.
I have an OPN Phone too but no one can say me if i will get the Update.
But i read on Pocketpc.ch that OPN Phones get teh Update with Mango, but the Option is disabled.
I checked MFG Menü but find no option to activate IS, can anybody of you take a look to MFG ?
EDIT I Found out something strange: I installed Supreme Shortcuts from here. And Activatet IS, i get an tile to my homescreen and can get in the IS Menue but by activating i get an erorr message. I take some Screenshots.

...for what update are you talking about? Tethering or the latest official?
Tethering and Hidden WiFi can't be turned on inside MFG. I have looked at it many times.
Microsoft says that carriers are rensponsible for tethering in branded phones. They almost didn't say what happens with open market phones but I found out that, Microsoft has thrown the responsibility to phone companies...who don't care about open devices too.
The latest post mango update has yet to appear to open devices...
@ Muvolt i talked about the Internet Sharing update.
Yes sure i asked first LG, they told me i should ask MS, they told me i should ask my carrier and the sayed i should ask MS.
Can you say something to the screenshots above?

Probably, you are trying to toggle tethering via that shortcut app, but tethering hasn't been enabled in the firmware, so you get that error.

That's nice for you, you but your phone isn't an open market phone, it's Vodafone branded.
I don't think Microsoft is to blame for this missing wifi-driver update, it's LG's choise to support only branded phones.
The 7740 update came from MS and it was rolled out to all phones.
