Controller joystick drifting - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The left joystick is randomly drifting left.
I captured this behavior with the Game Controller panel in Windows, here attached is a video.

How to correct this ?

From what I've read and tried, use compressed air to clean everything (buttons, shoulder buttons, triggers, d-pad and analogue sticks), then move onto isopropyl rubbing alcohol. After that apply a lubricant (I use Camellia Japonica oil, also called Tsubaki oil. All of this is done with cotton swabbed sticks (qtips =b).
Good luck?

I've broken a key!!

Oops.. so I was sat today talking to friends waiting for a reply via text and had my phone in my hand with it slid out and I I was just playing with the keys with the end of my nails and caught my nail on the right softkey button. (the one that'd open Contacts) and now its kind of poking up at an angle and won't go back down! Tried to take photos of it but the macro on my camera isn't too good!

Any ideas what I can do? I never use this button so if there's a fix for it that'll keep it down but not as usable as the other keys, it'll do. It doesn't catch when I close the slide, but its annoying me loads!
I dont want to use my insurance because it'll just mean me not having a phone for ages, etc.

some super glue perhaps?

What setting do you use? Why?
I have a skin condition on the complete undersides of my hands (I believe it's called dermatitis or eczema) that causes them to be abnormally dry and peel thick layers off, almost 100% of the time.
Capacitive touch screens usually aren't sensitive enough for the weak current that passes through the tips of my fingers, but this setting, even with a screen protector, will detect one of my digits even if I hold it mere nanometers above the screen.
I also hated the jumpyness of swiping between homescreens due to 10 pixel movement detection. Bleh.
P.S. Did anybody else's Tapatalk favorites break recently? Mine just did.

Get snipped! Dock charging

I've got a dock for my Fassy in each car, and docking it flips it to landscape mode, and since I've got mine running at 800mhz, its not the fastest to do all the operations when undocking. When someone calls me, I've got no chance at answering.
The solution? Snip your cables! Just drill a hole in the back so you can use a screw driver to pry off the back plate. Then snip all the cables except the black and red ones. Now you'll have a charge only dock, no resistors to tell the phone its in a dock. I couldn't find a software solution or a kernel hack.
While I was in there, I installed a bolt so I could bolt it to my dashboard.

Atoto A6 Over-heating issue

Newly installed Used Atoto A6 giving me problems...My factory door subs are Cutting off after extended use at "High" volume...all summer long
I'm assuming something inside is over heating and going into protection mode?
I took the deck and and removed the top cover..hoping to find a couple of chips that i could paste some heat sinks to.
Top cover off and all i see is a a tin cover on top of a board...some kind of heat shield?
Can i attach a few heat sinks on this cover? (see pics)
Maybe attach an old computer fan on the top deck cover
I'm reluctant to take this unit apart any further

Anyone with thoughts on this?

How to reattach volume/power buttons?

I opened my Mi 9T to replace the broken screen and accidentally removed the buttons while doing so. The problem is whenever I put them back in they just fall out again, but they do work while inside the phone. I wasn't able to find any video or guide on this topic, so I'm hoping I can get some help here. Please see the attached photo. I think there must be a specific order and orientation in which these parts have to be inserted.

ok, I figured it out myself.
For the people arriving here from Google:
You have to press down the power and volume up button while inserting the metal piece and then the rubber part. This will lock in the buttons.
