Also the touch screen was not responsive to the right side. After some hours it wont even open, but when i connect to pc it recognizes it so it must be functioning.
I took it to an authorized shop and told me the total cost to fix the screen is 215 euros. I bought it for 320.
Is it worth it, should i learn and do it myself?
Anyone here has an experience with that kind of thing?

It would cost you that much just for the LCD replacement part to DIY, so I'd say, pay the 215 euros.

Yes. Pay the 215 Euros. You get a warranty with the work.

Bottom of Screen Does Not Calibrate

I recently purchased an MDA off ebay from another member on this site. They claimed everything on it was fine, but upon receiving it I found that the bottom of the screen didn't respond. After playing with the calibration I found that the bottom of the screen wasn't completely "dead" it just thinks its being tapped on a different spot of the screen. The seller claims this is a software issue, but after several flashes from different roms the problem still persists. Has anyone else seen this happen? And does this sound like a hardware issue?
I opened notes and took a picture of what happens when trying to use the scrollbar in landscape mode to show how off the calibration is at the bottom. Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this.

I had this EXACT same problem. I had the mistake of pushing down too hard while applying a screen protector and it pushed in the screen on the bottom. From that point, I could never calibrate the bottom of the screen. I was able to get a replacement, because I told Cingular that it was broken and it was only a month into my contract.
So, I think the guy probably messed up applying a screen protector or accidently somehow pushed in the bottom of the screen. This is in no way a software problem....deff hardware issue.
Thanks for the response. I filed a claim with paypal for a refund. With the way that it was packed I'm amazed the phone works at all!
Im sorry to hear someone trying to get over on you. Hope everything works out.

Strongest mogul ever?

well yah my sisters titan (yes almost everyone in my family has a titan) has experienced the most abuse of our 3 titans.
i posted some pics.guess what it still works.

Does the touchscreen still function with that crack in it? I have had 3 Moguls, none have been dropped or abused, all look(ed) cosmetically perfect. The first two had had broken usb ports, one had a failing keyboard, all have the dreaded white spot. My latest is already showing ominous signs with a button back light stuck on and the usb port becoming very touchy. Maybe I should be beating the piss out of them?
yes the touch screen still does work but its a bit stiff and really hard to use i offered to open it up and switch the screens out for her (ive opened up my dads and replaced the screen) but i couldnt find the new screen i bought.
ive had my mogul for about 3 months after it replced my i760 and i have the white spot on my screen and the usb port is already touch and i havent even dropped it once. I would be pissed if i had dropped it.
have dropped mine many times. work in mills as a welder/millright and have it on my 24/7, in dusty, ashy, humid heat, grinding dust, hot slag, metal dust/shavings and all. have dropped it in the snow, dog has stepped on it many times... all that is wrong is the center button on the dpad dont work and a light spot about 1/8" around in the bottom corner area. i think the manufactures warranty should cover it huh? haha if not i made sure to get insurane

Does dust in my screen warrent a replacement?

Before I call HTC, does having about 20-30 specs of dust near the top of the screen qualify for getting my phone replaced? I don't want to have to pay, but I would love if i could get rid of these. I have a small dent (only in the metal part) on the top left corner where most of the dust is. It was here way before this (dropped it about a week ago, almost cried), so it's not because of that. If this has happened to you how was HTC on the replacement?

the only way is to call them and find out, they are pretty nice and honored my warranty even though i wasn't the first owner.
You really want a refurb?
I too have some dust on the bottom. Im not original owner either. Not sure if i should try to get it fixed or just live with it. Mine is in perfect condition otherwise, without any scratch or imperfection, a refurb might comeback dustfree but could have other imperfections.
Yes. It's covered.
I had a single spec of dust under my screen and an unlocked bootloader from before the method to root without unlocking surfaced. "Expedited Repair" got my phone back to me after about 7 days with no charge, and they relocked my bootloader. Never had to unlock again to root which I was glad for, as I hated that padlock icon every time I rebooted.
I had a lot of dust under my screen and they sent me a refurb over night. Refurbs are just ones that failed QA and go back to be remanufactured.

Problems with the screen

I have bought a SGS II and I like it a lot but I have some screen problems (and it is not related to the yellow/blue tint on the left side). My problem is that compared to the screen of SGS I, my screen is much worse, because there is a kind of "layer" (only noticeable with low bright and you have to pay a bit of attention)like this:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
that makes that when the brightness is low (on the device) the screen should be like this:
but instead of that I see something like this:
. It's a kind of layer that is showed every time, so I see that noise and I think that something is wrong with my device, or do you have this problem too?
Sorry, but I can't post URLs, so open them.
Like some sort of static image noise or dithering is going on, thats absolutely not normal.. What you can do is maybe go back to the store and have it check/compared with another unit.
Defective screen? Take back to shop!
looks like a (bad) screen protector foil is applied. if that's how your screen looks like without anything applied to it, return the device to the shop...

That's what I will do, I hope my next SGS II doesn't have this problem, anyway, I have to wait at least one month to receive a new one .

Loose screen

I dropped my phone and destroyed the screen a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was insured, they agreed to fix it and I got it back inside 10 days or so. Problem, the damn screen was loose at the top corner - you could fit a fingernail in easy. So, more than a bit annoyed I called them up and they apologised, said they'll pay for the postage and they'd sort it out.
Sent it back and they just returned it with the same damn problem! I can lift half the screen out of the case if I pry my fingernail under the (already loose) top edge - see attached photo. You can push it back in place, everything works fine but it works loose if worn in a pocket like normal.
Clearly their engineers are incompetent and I don't know if I can be bothered to return it AGAIN to find most likely the same problem repeated. Looking at the inside it seems that it's just a bad glue job - I can see sticky stuff that's meant to be holding it in place. :silly:
My question is - could I just reglue the screen in there? Does anyone know what kind of glue to use?
If it's covered by insurance get them to fix the problem at their expense as if you glue it yourself you would render insurance invalid if any other problem happened they wouldn't fix it as it would be voided because you glued it yourself
*Sigh* - yeah like I said - send it back a 3RD TIME? I really think they have trained chimps doing the repair work.
