Hi guys,
I humbly request 5 minute of your time,to make the following request.
Like many others, i have experienced a lot of critical problems with my HD, I therefore emailed HTC with a list of the most critical issues. However i doubt that they will take the feedback of one individual seriously. So what i ask of anyone who has any problem with their HD which is in fact a HTC problem to email them, with all the details of these issues. If we all work together in providing them with this feedback, then i am sure they will take it seriously, and hopefully address our issues.
Please use this link to send the feedback:
http://www.htc.com/www/CS_Mail.aspx
Here is some of the issues with my HD which i made them aware of:
"Good day,i have a few critical issues with my Touch HD which i would like to bring to your attention:
1. When my Touch HD is in standby it does not always notify me when a test message is received via a sound or a vibration.
2. I've got an appointment set up in Outlook on the PC for 7pm-11:30pm this evening. When I synchronized, the home screen on the HD says "Tomorrow 19:00 - 23:30" instead of "Today" If I tap the appointment on the home screen to enter the calendar program, it correctly shows under today's date, with nothing tomorrow.
3. I want my calendar view set to Month view. So I've chosen Month view form the options and everything seems OK. However, every time I choose calendar from the home screen it briefly starts in Month view, and then opens the agenda view.
4. In 99% of calls I make & receive, my calls are either dropped or disconnected, or there is noise in the signal, or either the other person can hear me but I am unable to hear the other person. I came to the conclusion that if I disable 3g all is fine, however I am not willing to accept this or any other solution where I have to disable features ,because I have paid a very large amount of money for this device, and I expect each and every feature to be working properly. I therefore friendly request that you look into this matter with the utmost urgency and come to a quick and effective resolution. "
I can tell what they are responding (short version):
"1. Please hardrest your device
2. If the issues are still present, send it to our technicians for repair."
Its a standard email answer if you are reporting with HTC devices.
i dont experience those problems, but then i use a cooked rom, maybe you should and then you will be happy with your HD

I believe problems 2&3 are win mobile problems, not device related, but, for the amount of money we pay for these devices we SHOULD get all the features working properly.
I experienced problem 1, the calls are working great, no problems whatsoever.
I experienced 2 & 3.. but not 1 & 4.
I have only experienced #3, but I think that is related to TF3D based on what I have read.
I could also recomend to hard reset your device.
Looks like you installed some third party software which could cause this problems.
Second problem which could be is the network problem. check with your operator.
and finaly upgrade your device with one of the cooked roms like dutty's hd extreme 2.1, (I'm happy with this rom)
good luck
if someone can tell them about camera driver,if they can speed up camera
regarding number 2:
this happens if the pc u sync ur fone with is having the rong time/date. check ur pc if it has the correct time zone, date and time set.. when synced, the date of your fone changes to that of the pc and if the pc is running one day behind, then your fone would do the same.. also, even if this happens, when u go check the calendar, the apointment would be on the date you created it on coz its nothing rong with the calendar, but the date of your fone when your syncd with a pc with the rong date/time..
hope this helps, please let know if you solved this problem. goodluck..
I have #1
And 10-15 texts after a reboot i only get vibration no sound, I do a reboot and sound is back on
Number 3 can be fixed using SSMaPa. Just remove the $ from the Arguments fields.
i have not experience those problem u mentioned yet...
hope i never will....
and all the best solving urs
I've gotta be honest I do not have any of those issues at all.
I am experience 2 offen.
Since the update to GB... my voice-to-text has not been working properly in the car. I first thought it might be background noise like the A/C or something but it appears to only happen when the car is moving.
Isn't this the whole point of voice-to-text? To keep you safe while driving so it doesn't require typing. Am I the only one with this problem? Is there any kind of workaround? I depend heavily on this feature. This is a big negative for me.
Same issue here. Voice to text has been broken for me since the first GB update on a stock unrooted EVO.
busted here too.
sucks.
Yes this happens to me too.
Just quit using your phone in the car so i can quit flipping you people off!
Have y'all tried updating voice search from the market? I noticed there was a recent update for it mentioning bug fixes.
Tried updating everything. Full factory restore on Unrooted GB 2.3.3 both the first release and with the maintenance fix. Changed Voice Input and Output settings. Changed the Google account dashboard and personalization. Everything and even rolling back to 2.2 which doesn't work because of the new Hboot.
It is completely broken. You get going 20-25mph+ and the mic does not respond.
Hope that it is address in a future release update (not likely), but will have to root and roll back.
Can any one that is rooted and on the stock 2.3 or different rom confirm if voice search is working for them?

Yeah... I updated Voice Search and I will find out later if it works when I get in my car.
Well, I did the Voice Search update and still can't do voice to text in the car while it's moving. This is ridiculous! I love using HeyTell especially when driving and now it has become useless.
A guy at work asked me today if i knew anything about this problem. He has had this problem since the GB update and his EVO is stock and not rooted. I told him I would look into it. Looks like I found the answer.

I did; however, find out that the voice search does work in the texting mode once you've hit the car in front of you wondering why it wasn't working during the driving process. Once stopped, it is amazing!
EDIT: OK..couldn't resist, but reminds me of the little "Don't use this while your driving" disclaimer in the gps units turning them on.
I've had issues with it when not moving.
I'm not sure where this connection to driving comes into play?

The whole advantage of voice-to-text is so you don't text while driving. My phone sits in a dock in the car. If someone texts me, I can verbally respond without taking my hands off the wheel. You know... kinda like talking on the phone hands-free. That's why voice-to-text is so valuable to me.
Earlier tonight I discovered the problem is worse. I was outside taking a walk and decided to use voice-to-text and nothing. Would not recognize. But once I stopped walking and used it... it was fine. So it's not just limited to driving. They need to fix this problem!
I did some looking around on Google and this issue has been reported on multiple different sites. However, it seems that it's more related to background noise rather than being in a moving vehicle. If there is any amount of background noise, voice to text seems to not work properly. It seems that it works fine if you are in a completely silent environment.

Yeah... I read the same thing but my tests did not ring true. When I was stopped at a light, I put the AC on at full blast and the voice-to-text worked flawlessly. But as soon as I moved and even with the AC off... nothing. For me, there didn't seem to be any connection with background noise... only movement.
My only other suggestion is to try an app called Vlingo for the mean time. The In Car mode is amazing. Just say "hey vlingo" and it starts listening to commands. It really is completely hands free. You never have to touch your phone to send texts and it even reads your message back to you to confirm before sending. I've never had problems with it although the in car mode is still in beta. Good luck!
I just spoke this entire post while driving 45 miles an hour down the road using Google voice search.
I had same issue on stock Rom. I believe if u look at main settings, voice input and output, text to speach settings, and in there it should say something about downloading something. If it needs updating u can press it and market will open with what u need

So I tried going through the text-to-speech settings but no luck. The issue doesn't seem to be with text-to-speech but with voice-to-text. It's like the microphone stops picking up audio when in motion.
Nevertheless... got this today from HTC...
Dear Jack Storm,

Hello everyone...
I ordered a Nexus 4 right before the announce date of the new Nexus 5, and it was straight from Google Play in the US. When I received the phone I had no chance to check it out since it uses the micro sim and I was leaving next day morning to another country.
Reached my final destination, and got me a new sim card "micro", inserted the sim card and as soon as i powered it on, it asked me for an update! The phone came with stock rom 4.3 and it asked for two updates:
4.4 and then it updated it self to 4.4.2 Kitkat
After the phone updated it self, I tried to use it by making a phone call and guess what? No audio, neither from my end or the other end, even the voip applications such as skype, viber or any other calling app..
Found also that my mic doesn't record at all in any of the apps, neither video, or even with a headphone mic!
I have searched the internet for such problem, and it appeared there are 1000's of people complaining about the no call audio issue. Some of my friends recommended me to ask my question here in your forum, since there are a lot of talented people around and here I am..
I checked your forum before posting this thread, and non of the cases applies to me at all. But!! The only thing that I came a cross is this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/fix-call-audio-t-mobile-4-2-2-33-radio-t2233319
When i did that fix, I was able to hear the ring through the wired earphones during the regular outbound voice calls. And I was able to make voip calls through skype, viber and majictalk. ONLY THROUGH the wired headphones.
And got stock now at that point and I don't know what to do next...
So my question is:
Can any of you guys can help me out by attaching/sending a fully functioning Nexus 4 running 4.4.2 rom >> snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 file??
That would be my last chance before tossing that piece of garbage in the trash.. I want to try the snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3 of a normal phone since the one I have changed, for some reason the lines never matched the original thread by big time!
Please let me know if any of you can upload one.
Kind regards and thanks in advance

If that doesn't work out you can try to flash different radios, not sure which one you need though. But it can all be done inside the toolkit

My best guess is to unlock the bootloader and install a factory image.
here's a noob friendly toolkit > http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...olkit-wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v1-8-0-t2015469

Thank you for the reply.. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.. But I have tried every single solution out there... Till I reached this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...radio-t2233319
The voip works now but with only wired headset.. And through the earpiece I was able to hear the other party's ring.. But when he/she answers I can't hear them or they can't hear me..
That means it is not a hardware issue tho "as far as my knowledge"!
Again, I have tried to downgrade, I even reached the 4.2.1 rom, with all the up to the current one 4.4.2, I have tried different radios, ..etc NO LUCK!
I have uploaded my original file tho if that will help
Thank you again

I'm kinda clueless here.. Do you have warranty on it?
I would take it to the store if I were you. But I guess you're pretty far away from the store you bought it from.
My attachment didn't upload! Let me try again..
And regarding the warranty, YES! It has a full year warranty.. About the store.. here is the issue, I left the USA the next I received my phone.. The item was purchased from Google Play directly.. Now they have no issue to return it or do RMA.. The thing is to ship it back and forth will cost me four time the money that I paid for! Its better to toss it away and get me a different phone since the Nexus has a lot of issues even tho with brand new N5
NOTE: The file has been uploaded.
Thanks
At this point, I'm feeling a lot of love and hate for my PH-1, but I'm locked in. I'm on the Sprint lease plan and I'm passed the point of returning the thing. So here's the latest issues:
Voice-to-Text: Whether it's in Chrome, Brave, Messenger, Google Assistant or Keep, voice-to-text has the same problem. First of all, when the phone says it's listening, I have to wait a few seconds before saying anything. Otherwise, it'll miss the first few words of whatever I'm about to say. The other problem: If I'm trying to do voice-to-text, it'll take about 5 words and stop taking anymore even though the phone appears to still be actively listening. At that point, I can cancel and then tap the microphone button again. This will allow me to voice-to-text 5 more words. So voice to text is barely usable at this point.
I installed Google Voice, but it won't take over as the default voicemail app. I've dug around in Settings and such, but I can't seem to find where I can change this. Presumably, the install of Google Voice should have taken care of it, but that doesn't appear to have happened. It has all my old voicemail from my prior phone, but nothing since getting the PH-1.
Stays connected to my car and my LG headphones no problem, but has issues losing connection anytime my ASUS Zenwatch 2 runs out of battery. Three times so far, I've had to wipe the watch and reconnect to get the two devices talking to each other again.
Google Keyboard is interesting and all, but it seems to do a great job of registering the wrong keystrokes. Honestly, I'd gotten used to my Samsung keyboard anyways, so if there's an option to map the same second character layout, that'd be ideal. But I definitely need SOME keyboard app that presents large enough keys that my huge hands won't confuse the phone. G Board is as big as I can make it and it's just not enough.

I have ZERO of these issues...
And Google voice hasn't put itself in the Google dialer since it was updated to material design like over a year ago...
Gboard is smart... And will get accustomed to your "large hands"

I'm so happy for you! You have no problems in your life and nothing bad ever happens to you! Meanwhile, I see post after post after post on this forum where people are on their second or third PH-1 .... because their PH-1 had issues. Sprint's support for the Essential Phone is worse than nonexistent. Essential Phone's own support kinda sucks too. Honestly, this forum is the only resource for useful help I've been able to find period. Apparently, people posting who are frustrated with their new phone offends you. Meanwhile, I will continue to try to make my purchase of a PH-1 as livable as possible.

Google broke the integration more than a year ago.
You will need to install an old version of the app manually.
The version you want is "com.google.android.apps.googlevoice_0.4.7.10.apk".
This is the last version that integrates with any dialer.
make sure you setup not to auto-update or the update will kill the integration.

Thanks, that explains a lot. Weird that they broke the integration. Can't think of a good reason for them to want to do that. Alternately, is there a different voicemail app that would work? Google Voice has it's good points, but if letting an update sneak through breaks it, I don't see the point in using Google Voice. Sometimes updates patch vulnerabilities after all.
Did Google replace Google Voice with something else perhaps?

Just an FYI, I have no issues with latest google voice, integrated with hangouts and used for my voicemail with Verizon after doing the standard *71(googlevoice#) *90(googlevoice#) an *92(googlevoice#). Maybe Sprint has a similar method of call forwarding you can use?
Also, maybe your phone has a hardware issue with a microphone. It wouldn't be the first case. Many of us really don't have an issue with voice to text, so that might be something to RMA about if you can test further.

The issue is not about being able to use it, dialer integration is broken.
Without integration you can't go to the dialer and listen to your VM.

There is a noticeable 10+ second delay when receiving a call and answering it on the phone and the setting "Play Phone Voice Call" on the watch is active. In my case this is with a Pixel 2 XL and Huawei Watch Sport 2. There is no fix for the issue at this time. If you are also having the same issue please send feedback and report the issue through android wear. Please read more about it and star the issue at the issue tracker below. Hopefuly this will get fixed soon. It makes the call feature on android wear basically unusable.
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/71010564
This issue was reported back in December 2017. Some confirming that it was faulty even on Pixel 2/XL's launch back in October 2017.
There are about 300+ comments in the issue tracker. That just shows how bad this problem is turning into. Currently, the fix that Google released only works "sometimes". Since the same bevavior was happening to my Gear S3, I strongly believe that this has something to do with how they designed the Pixel 2 line. Hardware, software? Not sure. If you read the issue tracker, you would find that other Wear OS/Android watches are exhibiting the same behavior as well.
I did reach out to Google store's customer service and sighted the issue tracker. They are allowing me to return the phone even though it was purchased back in October. I'm still not ready to pull the trigger just yet. Pure Android is too good! If you're thinking about returning yours, note that they will keep offering an exchange but always insist of getting a refund!
Same here on ticwatch E with last updates + a nexus 6 updated to android pie . I start to think there's something wrong in stock android roms because most of the times this problem happens on pixel , nexus or one plus devices . My old lg g watch uograded via custom rom to wear os 2.0 is a little bit faster to react to calls ,even if it's not able to answer it on the watch, at least till September of the last year . Now it's a little bit slower but the call notification happens all the time and at least it's not starting to ring after 20 seconds till the end of the call when I just answered on my phone
I have the exact same problem. Pixel 2 XL and Huawei watch 2.
Hi,
Have found a sort of fix for this issue for my Ticwatch pro and S10+ set up.
Download CallApp Connect to phone and watch. Use a tasker profile (not my idea, got it from another forum) to wake the phone immediately when a call comes through and then calls appear within a few seconds. Still not ideal but much faster than waiting for the Wear OS stock app to wake up eventually and miss the call. Time to open changes depending on whether you use AO display or LCD, faster with AO.
Also dispalys a photo of caller if you have one which stock app misses also.
Downside is the app on phone is heavy on the ads/pay options and may just add a different annoyance to your life. For now I have choseen to continue using the stock phone app to find contacts and see how long i can ignore the ads!
I created a small app that would wake up the watch when there is an incomming call, its works by detecting an incomming call and tries to push multiple notifications to watch one after other to try to wake up the watch as soon as possible, and self clear the notifications once the watch is woken up. heres the link: https://gofile.io/d/7DIfyo

I created a small app that would wake up the watch when there is an incomming call, its works by detecting an incomming call and tries to push multiple notifications to watch one after other to try to wake up the watch as soon as possible, and self clear the notifications once the watch is woken up. heres the link: h t t p : / / raboninco.com/Cbt6 , please note that i have shrunk the link using *******.
