I have had trouble with the Sky Q app in the UK since having a Yotaphone 2. It give an error when trying to watch the TV channels saying "Sorry, you can't stream anything whilst connected to another device". At first I though it was a mirrorcast issue but having just installed the Marshmallow beta, the first thing I did was try the Sky Q app and it worked. I then noticed that the EPD was just displaying the YOTAPHONE message and had not yet activated. I turned it on and got the clock showing but since then I get the error message again. There seems to be no way to 'turn off' the EPD to get it working again.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Hi.Have an s7 edge with stock marshmallow and an chromecast 2.Everything works great except for one thing. In the app google home there is the option cast screnn/aduio...well it doesnt work properlly.
It`s something like this: -" When I press "Cast screen/audio" from "Google Cast" app and select a chromecast device, the screen/audio is not mirrored.
When I press the "Cast screen/audio" button again, the app shows that I am already casting to the previously selected device."
-When I try to use the "Screen Cast"option in the chromecast app on my phone, the TV screen goes black and immediatly I see a message on my phone stating "Screen Cast to <Chromecast Name> ended, that stays for a couple of seconds followed by a short message that says "Disconnecting".
After a lots of attempts it`s connects...2 or 3 times and than same failure.
It works well with youtube or everything else...In my daughter`s S4 lollipop it doesn`t fails.I`ve tried factory reset chromecast,i have all the permissions in play services and google home.Tried uninstalling app and rebooting phone and same thing.Rebooted router...
Hey guys, I have an issue , of course, with the S8.
I am playing movies to my Samsung smart TV (casting them from my phone I mean) and from time to time this message appears on my TV screen: " Please check your network connection". And then it gets interrupted. And I have to cast it again. Never happened with my S7 on the same wifi network and same TV.
Detail: when I look at the phone screen, the wifi icon is gone and in a few seconds it says: "Connected to wifi network".
What do you guys think? Any idea?
Thanks!
I have a similar issue with streaming to my Audi MMI system music over WiFi, which is basically same as what you do to your TV. I believe that Battery optimization is killing the background process, and thats why you loose connection. Go to Settings, Apps, click on top right corner and chose : special services, than battery optimization. From the drop menu chose All apps, and make sure that anything, related to streaming, casting is switched off (exluded from optimization). Also make sure that you have under connections, WiFi, top right corner: advanced, make sure you have a tick on Keep WiFi on durring sleep.
Thanks man, I have the WiFi during sleep on...but from all those apps...I admit I am not sure which ones are to be switched off for optimization. Does your issue happen at certain exact times? Or just whenever it pleases?
Did it for Samsung Connect. Now I just hope it wont eat up my battery )
It was happening while playback, in the middle of the songs. I found about the battery optimization today, so hasn't manage to try if its resolved already.
Lately my remote seems to be going to sleep on me.
If I'm in any particular app or Kodi if my remote is idle for any length of time it lags on the first click or two then it starts working fine. Any idea what could be going on, never noticed this happening before. Thanks.
I have the same issue
Same issue
same here, super annoying. I'm on 7.1.2 May security update
I think I fixed it
I too had just started having this problem and it was driving me nuts! I think I just fixed it though. Some of this might be unnecessary additional steps but here is what I did:
1. Go to Settings > Apps
2. Under System Apps scroll to and click "Android TV Remote Service"
3. Click "Uninstall updates" and "Clear data"
4. Back out to the main Settings list, scroll to "Remote & accessories" and click Nexus Remote > Unpair > Ok
5. Disconnect Nexus player from internet and unplug Nexus player power supply
6. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect power supply
7. Once it's powered up reconnect to internet
8. Re-pair the Nexus Player remote
9. Wait for the notification that the Android TV Remote Service is updating/updated
That's it. So far it's working like normal again. Hope it stays that way and works for you too!
Deleted.
same problem here...i press some button and nexus player responds after 5-7 secs..
I've suddenly started to experience this problem as well. After it drops the connection, when I press a button on the remote, the light will flash while it reconnects—typically 3-5 seconds. I haven't experienced this behaviour before. Could this actually have been caused by an update? I'm also on 7.1.2. Just odd that we all suddenly seem to be experiencing the same issue...
im on 8.0 so version doesnt make a difference...what can we do?
Has anyone tried my fix above? I've had no further issues since I did it.

I don't see an "uninstall updates" option for that app.

Because you have another operating system - ver.8 right?
I had it working by only a small change or two from the original instructions with running 8 and worked a treat...
Then another forced update, another set of them dumping back on the standard apps, but that's another story grrr. And tried the above again with small changes like before but nothing.
Still a great bit of kit when they're not 'improving' it, now using the remote on the phone and the missus keeps going 'Who you texting?'
Had the same issue here. I turned off Wi-Fi and it started working fine again, so now I'm using a cheap usb 2.0 Ethernet adapter instead of Wi-Fi.
I stopped having this problem two days ago. I don't know if they silently updated a Google service or what but it's been working perfectly and I haven't changed anything.
Having this issue aswell on 8.0 any fix yet?
So it was fine for a while after I turned off Wi-Fi, and now it's falling asleep fast again, but this time it only flash twice before it wakes up, instead of 5 times.
Using my tv remote at the minute as a remote. Very annoying
Check this thread. Seems as though there might be a fix, haven't tried yet myself.

Hello I have a Skyworth Android tv and when I turn it on it gives the error of “Unfortunately HiRMServices has stopped” and I click ok and it’s just keeps popping up over and until I restart the tv a couple of times then it goes away. It’s running android 4.4.2 I was wondering has anyone encounters this or if there is a fix the tv is rooted also or if I can just remove Android period and just use a stick or android box. I think it has something to do with the internet once it’s connected after the boot it doesn’t give me the error just a guess
Workaround
Hey bud. I have been having the same issue with mine. One workaround so you don’t have to keep rebooting and cross your fingers it works is to go to sound settings and put the option for sound only and then the tv backlight turns off and only the speakers stay on. It literally turns off the rest of the tv and kinda puts it on standby until you wake it up. It’s a good workaround until we figure out a fix.
