So, I bought a Redmi Note 7 4/64 GB in bricked condition. The seller had problems with folder password and decided to flash new system, but accidentally installed Redmi Note 7 Pro rom and that's how it's now. I installed drivers and QFIL, downloaded a few fastboot roms, QFIL recognizes the phone and finishes all with success, but the phone is not booting, and no sign of charging. How could I find proper fastboot rom for my device? Here is all the info I have right now:

Thanks, but how would I know what is the right one? Is it Global, China, or EU? New one or oldest? Can I use SN or date of delivery or activation to connect it to the right one? Sorry for these questions, but in my life this is the only second Xiaomi in my hands, on the first one I had to install Pixel Experience to make it work, couldn't find proper ROM, too. I can't put Pixel on this one, can't put it in fastboot mode.
Please, if anyone knows how to choose the right fastboot rom for my device, I'm ready to pay over Paypal. Truly desperate...

Hi bro, it is indifferent, either the global or the Eu. just don't flash China. Unless you bought it from China.
Tried a few, China and EEA Global. Connected OK, download successed, but when I push a power button to turn it on, I can only hear sound of disconnecting from PC and black screen, again. Haven't tried Global rom for India, but that has no sense. Imported from China, bought in store in Croatia, EU. Xiaomi is a mess, a dude from support suggests me what to do when it turns on. Jeez...

Oh I hope it gets fixed :good:
Xiaomi support can't tell me what ROM was originally installed on my phone, even though I sent them it's IMEI number. Just a mess.
Is there any way to install a custom ROM, like Pixel Experience or similar, on this device, over QFIL software?

Your only hope is to get fastboot working and check the status of the bootloader, if it's unlocked flash any custom recovery via fastboot and boot to that recovery and flash any MODIFIED miui version, like Xiaomi.eu for RN7
Note that you can actually know your version of the device by Xiaomi official website, they tell you if it's Global or chinese. google that..
They say:
"Thank you for choosing Xiaomi!
However, the device you purchased is not an official global version and user experience may be affected. Next time, please purchase the official global version of the device through officially authorized channels."
What the heck does it mean? Not Global, but Chinese, bought in official store in Croatia, Europe? Why their support can't tell what is the original ROM by smartphone's SN or IMEI? They are tracking each device with ID, but essential things are not important, as it seems. Cheap junk, a guy in service just said: Dude, these sh.ts are all the same, I don't want to waste my time on it.

I got many friends help me to bring back the dead xiaomi, and i got my xiaomi to the service center and to repair expert but no one can really bring it back from bricked, i got the conclusion that it is the ROM because all suggest to change whole main board because no sparepart for just the ROM, so i sold the dead xiaomi to somebody and put up some money to buy a new one
I have been facing same problem with redmi note 3g, took it to the service center, they suggested to replace motherboard which will cost RS.6500 with tax and 1 month warranty, however, redmi note prime is on sale for Rs.7000 with 1 year warranty, So there is no point getting motherboard replaced, And Mi Service centers don't repair any of the parts, though I'm in the process of getting it checked with a local mobile center, If I get any usefull information, I will share it here

Any updates, I just found your wordings on this forum and realized that its a software bug by Xiaomi, before this I was thinking its a hardware issue, i went to technician and they said your phone is short(Some IC issue). how the phone can simply turn off permanently without any issue. I have same useless device in my cupboard what I do with it now? any recommendations.
As I see it's an emmc chip problem. It should be replaced. Part number is H26M42003GMR
I bought a second hand note 4 which came from abroad... dont know where but the device shows Sprint . The device shows SM N910F in 'about device'. How ever entering recovery the device info shown is SM N910P. I wanted to check for updates but doesnt work. Later i found the IMEI no. is fake ( shows a galaxy tab in imei info). Kies doesnt connect. 'dm- verity verification failed' in recovery mode. The phone is working properly but want to install complete stock. Have downloaded UK based firmware 6.1. via odin but doesnt install. 'About device' shows ' N910FVPU4COG5' (with FVPU) , the nearest i could find on sammobile is N910PVPU4COG5 ( PVPU which shows CDMA)
Please help me get into complete stock with proper IMEI. I dont even know where to start.
I'd recommend getting a refund if you can as there is a high probablity the device you've purchased has been stolen.
Thank you so much for your response. But refund now is not an option now, as I bought second hand from a friend who came from abroad. I need to find a way to repair it myself. Any ideas?

If you take off the battery, the label underneath should have the original IMEI? Is that there? Then you could put that back using the engineering menu.
See if you have the original label under battery.
the label also has fake imei. its the same number that appears in the device.
I checked few sites. What I think is someone is masking SM N910P with SM N910F ( read somewhere F is better than P and is easier to sell). I think my device has gone through same. I tried installing SM N910F original stock but the device didnt accept. I have downloaded SM N910P also but too scared to try as I have come to know that SM N910P is a CDMA. Any suggestions?
There are apps in the Play Store that do imei changing. Read those app descriptions and do some research. DO NOT PAY ANYONE YET TO DO ANYTHING. I am also looking, so i can get back to you what i find. So for it looks that imei changing can be done easily for free. But you just need to know a proper imei - this is the hard part.
Do you think you can peel of the label to see if another is under there? That may have the true imei.....

Looking at your previous posts it looks like you definitrly have a CDMA device, and from Sprint. This is being faked as n910f, which is an international version BUT GSM. The other possibility is described below...
In Verizon note 4, which is CDMA, there are two sim slots. This is required now by law. One is CDMA and other slot is GSM or actually meant for sim when abroad I think Sprint also is the same. I have Vefizon. Verizon phones are also facgory unlocked. If you are using GSM maybe try switching sim slots. In this case yiur phone has been flashed with international version firmware so it can be recognised on gsm networks. If you have a GSM sim try both sim slots.
EDIT: I checked this and I think Slrint does not have two sims.
Go to this site and post the problem. You will def grt an answer

You are not alone, I got that kind of device too, with same build number as yours. My goal is to put a sprint custom rom and I use miui, but as soon as I install twrp the device got bootloop, I back-up the rom and install miui, now it works perfect, even 99000 imei (maybe the original imei) appears.

Gents, have you tried this - Phone INFO ★Samsung★ from gplay? It's telling what you have in your hands. After that you can check IMEI changing and other things.
I'm coming from Samsung and this is my first Xiaomi phone, so I need a quick reply to make sure I will not fry my motherboard.
I bought the 128GB Redmi Note 7 m1901f7g - Global Version and planning to root my phone to gain the access I need.
I was looking through the XDA and most threads are about the Lavender version and I'm not sure what that really is.
For example, will this work for my phone
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7/how-to/one-redmi-note-7-unlock-bootloader-t3890751
if not, could you guide me to the correct thread, please? I'm away from the US and phones are 3 times the price in the country I'm in right now. I don't want to pay ridiculous amounts of taxes for a basic phone. I hope you get it (They charge $650 for this thing here, ridiculous!)
thanks!

You will not see so many variations of the same xiaomi phone like how samsung does, and those variation are codenamed based on their SoC
Lavender: xiaomi redmi note 7 (snapdragon 660)
Violet: xiaomi redmi note 7 pro (snapdragon 675)
If you want to mod your device the first step is to unlock the bootloader by requesting a permission from xiaomi (the official method) then install TWRP (a custom recovery). This is the only time consuming process. Once you get that everything else is done through twrp flashing magisk (the only root you need), flashing custom roms, even some mod and fix are flashable through twrp.
There a thread for unlocking the bootloader in [guide] section, or simply install "mi flash unlock" on your computer and follow the steps it provide.

Hello folks,
I got a lavender phone with a rom modified by a telco, I installed my own rom and everything works EXCEPT the sim card... it say Sim card not detected. In about phone baseband is Unknown and *#06# doesn't show the IMEI's. Maybe my mistake was wipe Vendor partition, not sure.
I have another lavender and I have tried to cope Vendor, EFS but still not working. I used miflash to flash the original RN7 rom using fastboot, still the same, doesn't matter the rom none of the sim cards works.
I understand the original rom didn't had both sim enabled. however i had the IMEI numbers because it's on the label at back of the phone.
any idea?, what can i do?. Wifi works fine.!
thanks

I bought a Mi Mix 3 5G, in Australia, for my partner who is in the Philippines. The phone is still under warranty. My partner attempted to clone data from a Samsung phone using Huawei Phoneclone. My error in recommending its use as I used it with Huawei phones and hadn't realised the software was Huawei specific. The Mi Mix now appears to be bricked (I'm in Australia so I can't physically access the phone). My partner took it to a Xiaomi dealer however they won't touch it as it has an Australian IMEI. Currently looking at sending it back to Australia so that I can attempt to have it repaired. Are there any opinions on whether the phone is recoverable? Her daughter is quite cluey in all matters about phones and if there is a way to re-flash the phone she could quite possibly do it. Any thoughts? Thank you. I haven't played with phone roms and I'm quite clueless in this area.
My partner tells me it is absolutely dead. No lights, no response
Hello,
You must be download miflash and stock rom with the firmware format.
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/andromeda/
I have tested with miflash but i think this is optional if your run manually the bat/sh script.
