Hello,
I was pereviously using the UI 2.1 version which had no issues with the gallery stock app and the editing features it comes with. But after the new update UI 2.5, I am unable to use the editing features from the gallery app. This made me have to resort to using a 3rd party app to replace the gallery stock app. Does anyone know what services may I need to enable for the gallery stock app editor to work properly again? The app just closes itself when I try to do anything like resize or crop the screenshot. Better yet, if its possible to downgrade back to 2.1 UI if on a non-rooted device since I think the other issue is the internet connectivity after updating to 2.5. But it fixed when restarted.
Did you update the gallery? There's a new version out. You can use Odin the flash previous firmwares as long as it's the same bootloader you're currently on.

Hello,
Got my N7 yesterday, I unlocked it and its rooted.
now its running 4.1.1 I want to update to 4.1.2 im still on the stock rom(rooted+touch recovery).
I heard that there is some issue if you update through the stoke recovery, so I have a custom recovery. I flashed a rom named smooth 4.0 through both the touch recovery(TWP) and CMW and non of them work I just see the boot up thats all.
so should I update or flash a different rom ?
im sorry if this question has been asked before.
thanks
anyone?
Why Not?
It's up to you if you want to update. 4.1.2 has a few new things, including screen rotation (finally), and a camera app If you can't choose, why don't you do both?

try both to see for yourself. i always get the latest and the greatest because of bug fixes stability improvements and things like that.
Maybe this is a placebo effect, but since I've updated I have yet to have some of the intermittent touchscreen issues that I was experiencing on 4.1.1... On that premise alone, and the fact I've had zero new issues crop up on 4.1.2, I'd say go for it.

I really would like to update and get rid of the annoying pop up message but isnt if im rooted and I have custom recovery will it update?, and if it did will I see app crashing?
I'm running 4.4.2 on a rooted Note 3.
I was wondering... if I downloaded stock android apps like... dialer/contacts, camera, gallery, clock... can I just freeze the stock Samsung ones via Titanium Backup and use the stock android ones as default? Would that work normally? Anything I should take into consideration?
Thanks =)

I don't think simple like that .
especially if you take it from other device. And even same device, if you take it from AOSP, you can't just simply uninstall old one, and replace new one. you will have FC.
Because samsung apps if a modded to work on TW framework, and the AOSP apps some need modification first to be able to work on TW framework.
I could be wrong
Cheers.
Did anyone ever figure out how to freeze or delete My Magazine without causing other issues? I'm on 4.4.2. Thanks
You can flash this if you are using a stocked based deodexed rom.
It has been a few months since I made it, I believe it is a 4x5 grid also.
Once you flash it, you can safely remove My Magazine. I have edited the smali to remove all calls to that app.
Custom launchers doesn't even start on my note 3 anymore after lollipop update. Anyone has such problem and possibly a working solution? Just after I start Nova launcher, i have a message "Nova Launcher is stopped". It's the same with Apex launcher as well. I'm using pro version on both launchers.

Uninstall them. Clean your phone and maybe cache too. Try again. With no restore of settings.

I've cleared cache and data of the apps and uninstalled them. Then i reinstalled them from the Play Store. It's still the same. I started thinking if nobody else is having the same problem after lollipop update maybe it's something about my rom installation.
Problems like that after an update usually require a factory reset to fix.
I've done a factory reset and flashed the lollipop rom through Odin again and it's still the same. I can't use custom launchers after lollipop update
If this is happening on Stock Lollipop ROM then you probably are on your own, cause I haven't seen a single person mentioning a problem like this. Nova Prime works flawlessly on my phone, as it should, which is on LP obviously.
Yeah I am on stock lollipop rom. I started thinking maybe the problem occurs because of memory leak issues of lollipop. Since there's no sign of Samsung to upgrade note 3 to Android 5.1 I will consider flashing a custom rom which is built on 5.1 if I can find any on xda.
Hello guys.... this is one of my first posts here so go easy on me...
Trying to get to the bottom of an issue I'm experiencing on my Nexus 4 16GB after updating.
So I had been postponing updating to Lollipop for months... (was still on 4.4.4 stock cuz I didn't quite like the new UI) and decided to update Sunday (Aug 10th) morning. Big mistake, apparently.
The OTA 5.0.1 update made my phone become unstable, lag, and crash at random. Constantly get "X ins't responding", where X can be anything from Launcher to System UI to Chrome! Regular google apps are generally non-responsive and supper laggy.
For Ex: Can't open Play Store, the app tries to open but all I see is a white app window, same with Photos, or maps... ironically Whatsapp and certain other non-google apps are opening.
So I currently can't even use my N4 much, I'm trying to find out a what's causing this and if I need to revert the upgrade or flash a ROM or something,
My 4.4.4 was rooted FWIW, and now it's not. Not sure if it's helpful, but I have about 1.3GB free internal storage, and 1GB free memory when I run. So I don't think the issues are being caused by an app I installed or some service running wild. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You could try flashing a factory image of 5.0.1 and see if that helps.

Thanks. Yeah, this seems to have fixed it. Factory flashed it with the stock 5.0.1. Had to wipe it clean but a working phone is a working phone.
So it seems that if you're unlocked and rooted, you're shouldn't install OTA updates?
I read somewhere here (can't find the link rite now) that after 5.0, the OTA updates don't work right, if it detects the bootloader has been unlocked and/or you're rooted? Is this correct?

You might try upgrading to 5.1.1 LMY48I, it is all the bug fixes for 5.+, and should be more stable.
