Q : How-to open Samsung Keyboard in Secret mode? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hello world,
Is there a way to open Samsung Keyboard in "secret mode"? I mean in a mode where it doesn't record what I'm typing to avoid some auto-correct behaviour (replacing text with bank account, ID etc. in conversations).
This mode exist! Just open your Samsung browser and switch to "secret mode" : no more suggestion in Samsung Keyboard.
I want to have the same behaviour in Firefox browser. Swiftkey effectively switches to "incognito" mode when I switch to private mode in Firefox but not the Samsung keyboard. :crying:
Thanks for your support,
Enjoy!
PS : I didn't find any setting or option to manually switch in "secret mode" on this keyboard as a workaround too.

It doesn't support it.

websites mobile bypass

Is there a way to disable websites from recognizing my 10.1 tab as a "mobile" device. Its super annoying when websites like cnet automatically send me to their mobile sites.
check thread titled "browser problem?"
I had the same question a couple weeks ago ... this thread isnt the one I used, but it has the same information. Post #2 should get you what you're looking for:

Type about:debug into the URL bar of the browser and press enter.
Click to Menu > Settings > Debug
Change UAString to "desktop"
thanks worked
Is there anything more permanent?

Click to collapse
the debug method seems permanent to me unless force closing the browser or clearing cache. Mine even survives a restart.
Not with TouchWiz I wonder if the US release of TouchWiz will have this fixed.
Another massive oversight by Samsung this one...A 10.1 inch tablet that displays mobile websites by default...well done Samsung
Its not Samsung or Google's fault sites show up as mobile. Sites refuse to change setting for a measly. 00000001 % of there traffic.
It IS Google/Samsungs fault the setting is hidden in debug.
Perhaps setting the UA string as iPad's will bring better results. I know that Yahoo.com has a tablet optimized page which should look better on Galaxy Tab 10.1, than the phone optimized page.
After the TW update in browser if you type in about:help, the debug menu will show up in the settings menu.

[Q] Disable *browser* auto-correct/suggestions

Hey all... I just got my Fire units in today, and while there's an option in the settings to disable auto-correct/suggestions under the Kindle Keyboard settings, it has no effect on the browser keyboard. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere to do the same for the web browser? I like the suggestions but I don't want it to auto-correct as I'm typing...
i have the same issue, even when i turn off "quick fixes" and "auto-capitalization" in "kindle keyboard" option, it still suggests and auto-corrects my typed words, which annoys me so much.
anyone has solutions?

Multi Window mode by default?

Is there any way to make it so certain apps always open in multi window mode by default?
e.g. I have chrome open and get a notification about a new email. Is there a way so that when I click the notification, that it brings it up in multi window mode displaying both the email and keeping chrome open?

Stock Browser Links - Open In Background Window

In the past, Samsung phones had an option for opening links in background. Extremely useful for a site like XDA. You could long press on a link, choose the "Open in Background" option, and the link would open in a new tab, but you wouldn't be switched to the new tab. This used to be enabled in the browser settings, under the advanced tab. I can't find the option. Why on earth they would remove it is a bit beyond my paygrade.
Is the option just hidden? Are there other hidden options? The Aboutebug command use to work in chrome? Are there similar commands/easter eggs for the stock browser or chrome?

[Q] S5 Active - Missing Keyboard OCR Function

Hey guys, I was going to try out the document mode which uses the OCR input. According to all documentation I could find, there is supposed to be a camera icon inside the keyboard settings. However, when I hold down the keyboard settings button and the icons come up, the camera mode icon is not thee.
This is a rooted S5 with stock recovery and Android Kit-Kat.
Any help would be appreciated.
Open the Galaxy Apps store and download Optical Reader first.

I'm fixed!
That did it, Nothing in the documentation mentioned that app, but it solved the issue. Thanks much!
