Can't connect to my home WiFi - Shield Tablet General

Hello guys,
I have a problem where I'm been stucked for days.
My Nvidia Shield Tablet won't connect to my home WiFi.
This are the things I tried to do:
Factory Reset,
Install a ROM,
Connect to 5GHz instead of 2.4GHz,
Tried with my phone Hotspot (it works),
Check if my router is in 802.11 b/g/n mode (it is),
Enable & Disable IPv6
Any idea why it doesn't work with my home WiFi?
I post some pictures.
Thanks for everyone who gonna take some minute to help me with my issue

Hey MrRock3t,
same behaviour for me, as long as my WiFi has WPA3 support enabled. Switching to WPA2 only gives a perfect connection. Following my settings "Protected Management Frames" (PMF) might be the culpit as the Shield does not support this. It apparently can also be enabled on WPA2 which breaks the thing again. On WPA2 PMF is optional, on WPA3 necessary.
Maybe that's a hint?

Hello LeMatz,
My WiFi router supports only WPA2 (AES) or WPA / WPA2 and both of them doesn't let my Shield Tablet connect with WiFi. I tried for a moment to disable the Security Key in my router and it worked.

Thanks for the hint! After disabling PMF my shield tablet is connected to network again. Seems new feature is not always good

HTC Tytn Wifi Drop Connection

Hi,
I experienced some problems wih my HTC Tytn (R 1.03.03.10).
At home I use a wifi connection with WEP 128 bits authentication.
The wifi connection procedure goes ok every time (with regular Ip adderess assigned).
After connection I can normally surf with IE (or use other other applications as MSN) but only for few seconds. In fact after few second it is not possible to surf anymore although it seems to be connected to wifi AP with regular IP address assigned (the icon and the specific menu say me that). After other few seconds It is possible to surf again, and so on..... The connection seems to drop and raise randomly.
I tried to modify some settings (eg. Power save mode) but with any result.
Thank you in advance to anyone could help me to solve this problem.

Couple of routine things you may already have done/tried/checked:
Try best performance setting in the "power mode" in Connections>wireless LAN.
And the range of the wifi is only around 10 to 15 metres are you within this without large obstructions?
Could also set a fixed IP address.
Mike
Thank you Mike,
I've already tried to set power performance to "power mode" and I performed my test near the (2-3 meters) without any obstructions.
Later I'll try to configure a static IP address and/or to deactivate WEP authentication. I could try a mac address based access too, instead of WEP.
I'll inform you later !!!!

Ok - can't see problem with WEP though - I use that with 128 encryption without problems.

I'm facing the exact same problems with my home network.
Connection up and down.
At office network never faced such a behavior.
Since I realize I'm not alone with this problem I'll try to investigate it more.
I've had the same problems at both my home and office. I use WPA-PSK w/ TKIP for security on both devices, though each of the access points are of different manufacturers (home is a Linksys, office is a Cisco 1231). Both routers run compatibility modes for 802.11b backwards compatibility and thats the only thing I can think of that is common to both. My WiFi connection usually associates with the AP but always ends up with a 169.254.x.x IP and the only thing HTC has been able to tell me is that the 8525 only supports 40 bit encryption (which is blantently wrong if it's even detecting the WPA-PSK). Has anyone come up with a solution or even seen the same problem? If needed I can post logs from the Cisco AP that show what occurs when the 8525 tries to associate.

Just out of curiosity, when you say backwards compatibility do you mean the router is capable of "g" rather than "b". If so have you tried "g".
Mike
I m having the same problem. I connect to Wifi, i can surf a couple of pages and then i just cannot browse anymore. I have to turn off wifi and then turn on wifi to continue browsing from where I was at.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

When I say compatibility it means that the radio on the AP can fall back to "b" speeds if necessary. And no, I haven't switched them to only "g" mode as that should not be necessary if the wifi implementation on the Hermes is up to spec.
Same problem here?
I have a Cisco N router, so does that mean its useless for WIFI for my phone?
I also tried to change the settings to Best Performance but it wont allow me to change them? Any suggestions please anyone would be greatly appreciated please? Must I have only a G router? And whats the SSID in current configurations? Should I enter the Routers IP? And where should
I enter it please?

Hanging Wifi Problems on HTC Dream

ISSUE
Every 3 - 5 minutes while browsing, my wifi will "hang" (timeout when trying to access sites). Note: it doesn't disconnect, the wifi icon is still there as if I was connected, it will just timeout any requests.
TEMP FIX
Reconnecting will fix the problem until it occurs in another 3 - 5 minutes.
VERIFICATION
This is not an issue when using my device on my friend's home WIFI connection.
WHAT I'VE TRIED
Updating my Linksys WRT54G Ver. 2.0 router to the latest firmware.
Switching from WEP to WPA (TKIS) encryption.
Trying different wireless frequencies (i.e. different channels)
Manually setting MTU to 1500 for my broadband connection
Resetting router & Modem
Setting a static IP on my phone (only wifi settings I can change on my phone).
COMMENTS
I think switching from WEP to WPA (TKIS) sped up my connection (but didn't fix the hanging). I didn't do enough testing to verify this but I ran 4 speed tests (1 with WEP then 1 with WPA then one with WEP then one with WPA) and in all occasions with WPA (TKIS) encryption my speedtest results were nigh twice as fast as the results when using WEP encryption. Odd...?
This isn't an issue on my laptop when using my WIFI connection, however, that doesn't say much since I likely have a much better receiver in my laptop (an Intel wireless N card) and it's not to say my laptop gets a perfect connection (I can't play Team Fortress 2 on WIFI anymore because of lag spikes - need to play with wired connection), but it just doesn't have this hanging problem.
If anyone has any ideas of other things I could try to get this working I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
Hey,
Iam wondering, after flashing tomal 8.7, I have the same problem as you with my universal. Did you found any solution?

have you solved the problem?
i have the same same issue with modem-router wifi Sitecom wl

if you had solved can you tell me how fix it?
Bye
Hi,
It looks that I've got the same issue as you have - the connection is still active (at least, the icon shows that), but after a couple of minutes, I cannot access any website.
Did you guys find any solution to this problem?
thank you very much
Ive had that problem with a few routers(i know the answers late, but maybe it will help someone at least). I had to disable the routers firewall. Once that was done, no disconnects. Weird.

Really Frustrating Wi-Fi Issue

Just picked up my TF today, updated to 3.1
I have a main router at my house and two bridged repeaters (dd-wrt) sending the signal everywhere so I have coverage. Here is the strange issue:
I can connect via wifi just fine to my main router, but I can't to either repeater. The TF says I am connected, but the wifi symbols stays gray, and doesn't connect to the internet. Other devices connect fine to the routers, even my droid 2 global has no issues.
Anyone else experiencing anything like this? Strangest wifi bug I've ever experienced, i'm stumped.
I've tried the following:
Channel Changes
Open security
Router Reboots
Any advice would be appreciated!!!
just tried connecting to my dd-wrt for the first time reading your post, and it worked fine... I am running prime 1.4 if that happens to have anything to do with it.
Have you tried static IP on your TF?

A repeater? Or direct router?
I have tried static ip, no avail.
I also have an annoying wifi issue as well. When my transformer comes out of sleep it seems to be connected to the wifi but I can't surf the net. I need to turn-off wifi and turn it back on to make it properly work.
Using Prime ROM v1.4 and the wifi uses WPA.
I should have also mentioned, that despite being "connected" I still cannot visit the router gui via the TF's browser...

+1... I am annoyed with this as well...
mine is a bridge, with it's own ssid
still can't figure it out
I'm considering flashing to prime 1.4 to see if that will help. does anyone know if there are different wifi drivers on prime 1.4 vs stock 3.1?
thx
Have you tried flashing the latest firmware to you repeaters?

Same issue was happening to me on stock rom. I changed WiFi disconnect policy from "Never when plugged in" to "Never". The issue is now gone but battery goes a little quicker now...
Do you know if you have an access list setup on your router? Your access list maybe bllocking your tf from connecting
The first thing I would do in your case, OP, is to disable all security, mac filtering, passwords, etc and see if the Asus will connect or not.
I'm using Prime 1.4 and have no problems connecting to my wifi network using WPA2.
I have...
(1) - Verizon Fios - Main router - no wireless broadcast - DHCP on
(2) - Linksys E2000 - DD-WRT - wired ethernet to main router - broadcasting SSID - DHCP off
(3) - Linksys E2000 - DD-WRT - wired ethernet to main router - broadcasting SSID - DHCP off
Unfortunately, I'm not doing the wireless bridge repeater mode but I haven't noticed anything particularly different about the Asus's wifi.
My wifi is always on, I don't use any of the battery saving modes.
figured it out
After trying a bunch of various resets and google searches, it turns out that the only way for me to connect to a bridged router is by using static ip's and making sure the dns was set to find my main AP.
Its strange that i would have to go through so much manual setup, when all other devices work just fine.

WiFi cannot connect findings

hmmm... somehow i found with current wifi libs (fb/gdx/mcm207) i can connect to ANY 802.11g wireless with any security setting (WEP/WPA(TKIP/AES) with no issues.
however i recently changed my router to an N-based one and no matter what i do it refuses to connect even after i set it to G-only mode. does anyone have a workaround? i'm on a Belkin router and no, DD-WRT doesn't work on it. this is also the case on any N-based router that i've tried to connect to since. all have failed.
on GDX now after coming from FB023. Barnacle stopped working for me after FB012. any ideas anyone? tks

You can try Enabling N standard on your phone or set your router to g/b mode only.

I am having a similar issue. my tablet pick up the wifi but takes ages to login. most of the time it just stops connecting. when i do connect it lasts about 30 seconds. can anybody help me?
Try logging in without password. If this works, try WPA2 TKIP or AES and WPA TKIP or AES. One of those should work. If not, do a firmware upgrade on your router (if available).
You could also try logging in using a fixed IP (just click on "Show advanced options" when trying to login to the WLAN).
