G975U1 - some multi region ROM for EU use? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hi,
I bought S10+ g975u1 - snapdragon version. Is any chance use EU region on this model ?
I have this isssue:
GPS - Low accuracy (+10 m) with best condition - on my old S7 accuracy 2 m
Caller ID and spam protection - cant turn on, but on my old S7 (same sim card) its works
Only partial translation to my language (czech - czechia)
Thank you and have a nice day
Best Regards
M.

You might be able to use it in the EU, put in a SIM card and see if it can make calls. That phone was made to be a carrier free phone for the U.S. , so it may not work elsewhere.

[Q] Peculiar problem when roaming

Hello friends
I have a peculiar problem on my Note 3 when I am roaming.
First the facts:
It is S9005 model (Snapdragon model). It is unlocked model - not locked to any carrier.
I have rooted it and have Omega Jelly Bean ROM installed.
I was using it in my home country - India and it was working just fine.
I just came to UK and put in a UK sim card. Funny thing - the card is recognized and the data works fine on the phone. But when I try to make any calls, it starts to dial and immediately disconnects within seconds. Also no SMS is being sent.
Similarly when someone tries to call me it says number not reachable.
Oddly when I put back my India SIM in it while being in UK, even that one has same performance. i.e. data working but call/SMS not working.
Can anyone help?
Help anyone?

Does your phone still have the original IMEI and SN (printed under battery)?
What region was the phone originally?
What effective CSC are you right now?
Have you eliminated the problem with international prefixes in the numbers?

Missing tab in Dialer - Only firmware or also Carrier limitation?

Hi I'm in Italy and have a S8 bought via Vodafone and it doesn't have the Places tab active (I know for sure it works in Italy) in Dialer app. I checked and my firmware is not the Vodafone one but the generic Italian one and this actually make sense since I can't find any kind of customization in the software or the phone itself.
So my doubt is...a part the firmware version, some functions, like this one, are also active or not based on the carrier you're using? I should try to find another operator SIM card and try, meanwhile someone can confirm this theory?
Guys any suggestion?

Remove regional Lock on S8 (acquired in Europe, to be used in Angola)

Hey guys!
A friend of mine just bought a galaxy S8 in Portugal, and will soon move to Angola, and wants to use it there.
He's done the 5 minute local call, but after it, the device is still not accepting the Angola Sim card.
Any other options to remove it?
Thank you

I had an S7 from China/SE Asia. It worked OK in the US on AT&T as it was, but I wanted a US (universal) firmware. Eventually I could flash a US universal, or leave the phone OS as it was.
To get the region to change to US, I had to flash the correct CSC package. It took me a few tries at finding the correct CSC, as the CSC had to match the version of the OS (version/number wise, not region wise).
For S8's I can't remember about the issue of minutes or when that criteria became included with the S8's system.

Hong Kong device with a european SIM-card?

Hey everyone!
I have a problem that´s probably a bit stupid. First the facts:
- I bought a TA-1068 from a (as I now know) shady reseller on the Internet (https://www.guterkauf.com.de/de_DE/) - never buy from them...
- I live in Europe
- Problem: The TA-1068 is (as I understand it...) suited for Hong Kong & Taiwan.
- When I now put a european SIM-card into the phone it doesn´t find it and I get a "no SIM-card" error. Everything else works, I can set up a Google account etc. This means I cannot use the phone as it is right now.
My question for you is: Is there a softwarefix for this, or is there no way I can ever use this phone with a european SIM-card?
Nokia already told me they have no way to help me (because it´s a Hong Kong device) and the shady reseller doesn´t admit that the phone is unusable to me and their support sends me in circles.
Kind regards,
Hauke
This is a Nokia 6.1 TA-1068.
Which firmware is your Nokia 6.1 running? Dial *#*#227#*#* and tell me the version displayed.
Also you can test if SIM card contact works by dialing *#*#372733#*#*.

Hello and thanks for answering!
The Version is shown as: PL2-326F-0-00WW-01
And the SIM Card test only shows "Test passed? No" - so i suppose the device has no contact to the SIM card...
Soo...I suppose there is no solution then?

Does Redme note 7 have a hidden Face ID screen unlock ?

Hello Just bought the Redme note 7 4/64 (not pro) with global version.
I can not find a face id for screen unlock
Any Suggestions ?
Iva
Hi. From memory, it seems to me to have read, that it was necessary to change the options regions in the parameters, and to put hong kong so that face unlock appear.
Yes. it is true. By setting the region to hong kong you will get the option of unlocking the face. I tested it
I can confirm this, I don't know why but it's only available for some regions.
eg. if I select Italy I have the option, but if I select Switzerland ( which is good for themes section ) the option is missing. When Italy is selected I'm unable to see online themes section instead.
Thanks i have no interest to change region due to other influences , it is indeed very strange !
I had read from different sources that the facial recognition didn't work when the phone was configured with France as localisation. And I even heard a salesman explaining to someone in the Mi Store that he would have to change the localisation to Hong Kong in order to benefit the facial recognition.
Well, I finally just bought the Redmi Note 7 (from the Mi Store) and being declared localised in France, I actually DO have the facial recognition and face unlock function enabled by default on my phone.
This is actually a very good surprise because I have never been able to use the fingerprint sensor when located on the rear (so far I used the PIN code, old school ). And it appears that the face unlock is really impressive. The device unlocks immediately. The weirdest thing to me is the screening of my face took barely one second, under very poor conditions of light. But it works ! It sounds magic to me.
FYI, my device model is M1901F7G and it's running MIUI Global 10.2.3.0 (PFGEUXM).

If u are having trouble with the localization, just install the EU rom that takes all this trouble and throws it in the garbage

No, I don't have any issue with the localization setting. My device has the original Global ROM (devices sold in the EU) and it is properly set to France. And the face unlock works just fine with no tweak although what it is said in different forum posts and even by some MiStore employees. No trouble at all here. ?
I can confirm that Face ID screen unlock is working good with Spain region.
