Good morning, as the title suggests, I would like to ask you if you know a good kernel that reduces me the continuous and annoying disconnection of the wifi, I'm going crazy, right now I'm on a custom rom. Please, I'm a good soul after all.

Greetings,
I want to know your opinion .. Which Kernel do you prefer and why ??
- ElBartoME 2.6.32.9 #1 OR
- michyprima's R11 OR
- Darkstone OR
- Hastarin R7.1
-----> Currently i am using Hastarin R7.1 ... Tell me your experience ...?
Thanks ...
each dev puts hard work into each build. u shouldnt single out any of them by posting this poll.
there is no "best" kernel as there are good points in all of them and together they have created their own style of working.
All of the kernels are have similar tweaks so alot of things are the same i.e darkstones graphics tweaks and michys ext batteries.
I think that this would need to be a "which kernel do you prefer" rather than a best thread as this all falls down to preference. I for example prefer michy's kernel as i like having the higher clock speed and it has never let me down. I have tried others but keep coming back to michy's

i didn`t mean any insult for any dev .. title changed !
I prefer michyprima's R11 as I find that current evo kernels break more things than they fix.
Please move this to Android general?

I see how this topic could become helpful. It could signal out which kernel is the most used, eventually, kernel devs could move from their stuck-up ways and work together on whichever kernel people consider to be better/more stable.
I'm on Matt 1.8 and his kernel had constant problems with data dropping and very frequent 2-3 second freezes that were just abnoxious.
I switched to hastarin 4.1 and then 7.1 and I wouldn't go back. My device's been on Android only ever since and it's staying that way.
agreed.
this is a bit of an odd issue, because personally I really don't like the Hastarin R7.1 kernels, and the darkstone ones work beautifully, but clearly that isn't the case, regarding the fact that that's the most popular one.
in retrospect, this probably isn't a very good idea for a thread, because its not going to show anyone which kernel to get, because they will most likely get a different experience to others

Michy Evo R0
I actually like the Michy Evo R0 kernel. For me all the nexus one based kernels have the problem of freezing up if you let it go to standby with wifi on, once it happens you don't have much choice but to wait until it unfreezes. All the Evo kernels have the problem with the delayed flash, but that's a smaller problem for me.
I don't think telling devs they are stuck up is a good idea. I personally use which ever I wanna try. It gives them each good feedback. They make changes and those fixes spread to other kernals.

Im running Hastarin´s (4.1 or 5 i believe) in Mattc´s 1.8, im not sure which kernel was on that one, but im getting great results with this combination, standby drain goes down to 5ma at some points, and running with no SOD, almost none touch screen freezing, really minimal, and when they occurr it gets recovered pretty fast, im really happy with it, no 3G data for me, wifi works great though.
SLDS.
PS: Sorry about my english, i hope i made sense lol
I'm using Hastarin 4.1 ... didn't decide yet to move to 7.1 till most of users say it's OK.
I tried MichyPrima as well to see if it solves the data connection issues but turned out to be almost same performance like Hastarin's.

I agree. This is why I didn't upgrade to Froyostone 3.1. Seems that all current issues still exists + delayed camera flash due to the Evo Kernel
Hastarin's 7.1 drops data like a son of a *****. I ripped the one out of Shubcraft 1.5... Never had a drop signal once.
Just go to advanced wifi settings and set wifi sleep to never

Do'h! Why didn't I think of that? Of course now that I've tried the desire HD builds I really really really want to use that, but that camera doesn't work at all.
Now that I think about it, kernel code is getting better all the time, this poll really is premature. Maybe 6 months from now we can really decide.

hi guys, sorry for noob question but I've just got the i9505... it is still not clear to me if there is a way to get DT2W in this phone running aosp roms? if so can you please explain me how? thanks!!

IMHO the hardware is indeed not optimized for it, and it keeps the screen digitizer completely on all the time.
I think that it also won't work perfectly like it does in the OPO unless you set a wakelock, which really drains the battery. Better just don't use it.
CM11 has a DT2S. Im not sure about DT2W.

hi, thanks for the answer.
i tried ktoonsez kernel with carbon rom and dt2w seems to work fine actually
don't know about battery yet, will test.
problem is, that as soon as i flash ktoonsez's kernel, i loose ril no line at all..

Well nobody ever tried DT2W for the i9500 so I dont know much about the smooth functioning part.
Battery part yes. Check the wakelocks. It is surely something to do with either the proximity sensor (dr.ketan from note2 has that) or the screen digitizer.
In either cases there will be a battery drain. Minimal or adverse. Not known.

Hey, no one said you have to like it
Talking only about MM systems.
DU is my prefered in this moment. Has good features, smoothness and battery.
AICP is the most complete but I'm not getting results in smoothness and battery as good as DU. Gets better with Lambda kernel.
crDroid is maybe the most smooth, has good battery but not so much features.
The best MM custom kernel actual is Lambda, specially the most recent builds (Beta).
Off course devs are working to get their ROMs better at each build, so it's always worth to try each ROM for yourself and see what you think about latest builds.
optimusg3. best i tried best i know

Yes, I mean Marshmallow.
I heard DU 6.0.1 is having some problems with Bluetooth. I said I heard because I never use Bluetooth, so I can't be sure about how it is.
Camera is also not so good as stock camera, but still is pretty good, I can use it as daily camera. Custom ROMs AOSP/CM have not so good camera, it's common, but I think it worth cause you gain with smoothness, features (Ambient Display, Easy flashlight, Themes, Navbar and Statusbar configs, and lots of other features). You can have more control over your system.

It would be very interesting which Custom-ROM you are using as daily driver and why.
By the way: I know some of the poll-options are outdated - I hope I didn't forget any ROMs.

Hi,
I used the same for some time.
Now I'll try Efficient because Stock is good but some things are annoying - well I could "fix" it by myself but a Custom-ROM is much easier (if there are no bugs)

i've just bought the oneplus 5 a week ago and i am very impressed with the phone so far but i want some help regarding battery life i'm getting mostly 6-7 hrs of SOT on OOS which is very impressive but i've seen some people here getting like 10 hrs of SOT i'm not a heavy user i mostly use the phone for youtube and music streaming services such as spotify and i also use facebook, snaptchat and whatsapp also my phone is always connected to wifi and i don't do any heavy gaming on the phone so can anybody recommend a good battery friendly rom and kernel which would push my SOT up a notch i've seen in some posts that the lightning kernel with the spectrum app helps alot but i really don't know
i've tried to attach some screenshots of accubattery to show my usage and battery health but it's not allowing me to post links or images it's the first time i make a thread and also i never go past 50% brightness if anybody could provide any suggestions for me i'd truly appreciate it thank you
For me at least, it's hard to say. I know this might not be the answer you're looking for, but the best thing in my opinion, would be to just flash a few ROMs and see which provides the optimal features+battery life for you.
My usage is going to be different from you, so if I say "X" ROM gives me 10 hours of SOT, that may not hold true for you.
Even though you provided some info on what your usage is like, I'd still recommend just flashing and testing out yourself! I feel you'd get the best idea by experiencing ROMs out there first-hand, rather than others recommending what they use/is best for them!

If you are encrypted then Bluetooth media will work, just not Bluetooth calls. For me, Bluetooth calls is not a deal breaker, and I think the dev is working on a fix for an upcoming build; don't quote me on that though lol
