The Brightness on my Evo will not adjust no matter what I do. I've tried clearing cache, I've tried a hard reset, I've tried loading a sense rom and back to CM7. I've checked my light sensor which seems to be very responsive and seems to be working perfectly. Phone stays on highest brightness setting, does not auto adjust when in that setting. When I go to change the setting, no matter which way I slide the setting, the brightness does not shift. Remains on high. This is across roms with cleared caches, battery pulls and with sensor showing fine activity. Someone out there, help me.
Screen started flickering out of the blue when I took it out of my pocket. Its on all colours and background except for black. I have tried factory resetting the phone but still no luck. However the phone dosen't show any flickr at lowest brightness setting. Any help would really be appreciated.
Hello everybody,
I have this problem since few months:
Sometimes out of nowhere the screen starts flashing (like turning up brightness to 100%) for a split second when I touch it. After a while it stops. I have no idea where it comes from or how to replicate it. Sometimes restarting the device helps, sometimes not.
Automatic brightness is turned off.
Can anyone think of the origin of this problem or how to solve it?
It is a A2017G and on 7.1.1 with A2017GV1.2.0B05 but was the same with the last update (B04?).
Anything I could think of would be SystemUI Tuner, but I only use it to hide the NFC icon.
Thanks!

My wife's S8 screen have issue out of sudden.
It happened when she was using it and suddenly screen starts flickering.
The phone is just 14months old.
Never in my life have this issue before especially a device that's just 1yr+.
Tried safe mode, adjust adaptive display, off light filters but still the same.
Screen is too bright even if you set brightness slider to lowest value .It makes really painful for eyes to use the phone at night.
This issue was not in Android 9 .
Tried resetting device health service app but that does not work.
Was facing the same problem, as a workaround I am using below app:
