Google app issue - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Dears,
I have an issue that started 2 days ago.. when i swipe right from the home screen to access google cards, it shows only 1 card and when i click the more stories icon it says "no cards available at this time" it used to work perfectly before.. I tried clearing data for the google app.. but still the same problem... Any ideas?

I used to have this problem back on my Pixel 2. Couldn't figure out what the issue was but then it corrected itself after a day or so.

[Q] Problem With An App After Updating

I bought my Nexus 7 (16GB) just a week ago. It's been working fine up until today. I have installed a couple of apps so far. Today I heard about a new app I wanted to search for so I clicked on the shopping bag icon to go to Google Play. A message popped up asking if it was ok to do an update so I clicked on "install now". It took just a couple minutes then the nexus shut off and restarted itself.
I returned to Google Play and after searching for the particular app (without success) I returned to the main screen and tapped on the one game I had installed - and am now addicted to - Flow Free. I got a pop up message that said, "Unfortunately, Flow Free has stopped" and it gives me the option to click on "report" or "ok". It had been working perfectly every day for the last week so I couldn't imagine why it wasn't working now.
The first couple of tries to open it I clicked on "ok" thinking that it might just be slow to respond but the app never opened. I tried turning off the nexus, waiting a few minutes then turning it back on hoping that a re-boot would fix the issue. It didn't. I still got the same message. I tried uninstalling the app then re-installing it. Same issue. I tried uninstalling it, turning off the nexus then turning it back on and re-installing. Same issue.
Since "report" was one of the options I clicked on that and sent a report. But I have no idea how that works. Does someone actually read these and respond or does it just go on a list of complaints people have that go ignored?
All the other apps I had previously installed still worked ok. I installed a couple more just to make sure they work and they do.
So my questions are: Was it the update that caused this particular app to stop working or was that just a coincidence? Is there anything else I can do to get this app to work again?

Orientation / Rotate Problem with my Nexus 4

Every couple of hours my orientation get stuck on portrait. it means I can't play games that uses movement, when take a picture it doesn't recognize that I took it horizontal, my launcher stops rotate and also youtube and the image gallery. you got the picture.
downloaded "android sensor box". nothing happens in "accelerometer" and "orientation".
on CPU-Z sensor test it seems to work (values changes).
restart my phone fix the problem but it stops working again after a couple of hours.
I restart my phone 5 times a day because of this issue.
tried reset using GPS Status --> Tools. didn't work.
tried starting my device on a flat surface till lock screen. didn't work.
any idea what to do? my phone is 2 months old.
thanks.
I found what caused the problem
Just came back to update that I found out what cause this issue.
After full reset to my device, I've noticed that the problem started after installing a certain application from the play store.
It's an Israeli app called "Isracard" (to manage your credit card account).
When I've uninstalled it this problem solved. Reinstall it again brought the problem back.
I've notified the developers. Pretty sure this issue is unique to nexus 4 users because it's a well known app.
So for a couple of weeks everything is working fine.
If anyone else has this issue just try to locate which app caused this mass by enabling / disabling apps one by one and change rotation setting under display settings after each time.

Constantly slow load/responding Google Now? A working fix for me.

Ever since I got my SGS6 (G920T), Google Now was always slow to respond. Upon launch, I would have to wait ATLEAST 10 seconds for the cards to load. Then to reach settings, I would have to wait another 10 seconds. I also had a problem with Google Now slow load with my HTC One M7 (then it started loading normally a few days later somehow). Anyone else with this Google Now issue?
I did everything from clear cache, delete data, and uninstall updates (since you can't uninstall it). Then I remember an old solution someone brought up before. Disabling "Hotword Detection". After I did that, CONSISTENT load & response times. It launches cards instantly, I can get in the settings instantly. Its working like it should again.
Anybody else have a similar story? Not sure whats going on with Google Now these days. Also, is anyone else missing "Hotword Detection" options for Any Screen? Not sure how that's missing. I only have Hotword Detection for inside the app.
Weird no issue here even with hotword on.

It seems to be hit or miss with some ppl. I researched online, and others have reported this issue, and fixed the slowness by disabling hotword detection. Not sure what its doing to to me (also happened on my HTC One M7 for a few days, then started working fine again with Hotword... ). I wanted to see if there's others with the SGS6 that are having this same issue.
I know its widely reported w/ SGS6 users (or atleast the Tmo version) that there are some options missing from the Hotword detection section like Any Screen detection. Not sure how thats missing.
I don't have the "from any screen" option. Weird because I had it a few days ago. Now it's gone...

Guess we gotta wait for an update I guess. Still weird that option is omitted.

Google now cards after 6p

I went from N6 to N6P about 2 months ago. For some strange reason i dont get any Google now cards of my interest since then. The only thing i get is weather cards but nothing else. I tried everything i saw on the net like sign out of my account clear data and cache of the google app and log in again with and without vpn, i tried disabling and enabling my cards of interest but still nothing. Im at some point which i dont kniw what to do.
I have a sort of similar problem.
Every few days the cards don't show up and no amount of refreshing will help. Sometimes it requires a restart or I have to go to the Google app (or find it via settings > apps) and force close. Sometimes it resets the phone and sometimes it refreshes the launcher and the cards show up again. So annoying. Anyone else affected?
I force close the app all the time but it wont work

[SOLVED] Google Play Services has stopped upon activating

SOLVED! It was F2FS on /system that is causing me all this problem. Reverting back to ext4 solved the problem!
Problem:
Hello! I would like to ask something in regards to an error occurred during activating a phone.
I recently performed a factory reset using TWRP in hopes of flashing a new ROM. It was a success. It took me around 5-10 minutes in the first boot and there it is... the activation screen with "Welcome!" message and languages to select. What seems to be the problem is, I can't bypass this screen.
First of all, there are 3 apps reported to be stopped; Google Play Services, Internet, and Samsung account. The popups show at an annoying rate but it was bearable.
Chronology:
1. I was stuck at "Checking connection" screen when I have a working connection (both Wifi and mobile data). Upon showing the "Checking connection" screen, I was greeted with 1 popup saying Google Play Services has stopped. So, I did a workaround by removing the SIM card and did not connect to any Wifi. I can bypass that screen!
2. Then comes the set date and time screen. I pressed next and comes the "Name" screen where I can put my first name and last name there. Now this is the problem. The 'next' button is available but there is no respond. I was stuck there.
The solution I tried:
1. Remove the SIM card, did not connect to any Wifi
2. Install separate Nano-GAPPS
Now. If any of you can enlighten me to a proper solution as I am running out of ideas to input what keywords should I put in the search box, I would be very grate[/ful
