Is anyone else facing VoWifi issues on Airtel in India? The same sim works well on my OP6T, but on my new OP8Pro (12+256), I cannot hear the other side once the line connects till I disconnect my wifi. I can hear the ring, I can hear the covid warning - just not the actual sound on the other side once its connects. I tried two different wifi, same result.
Any suggestions?
Could it be network issue
Are you sure wifi is the issue. I have set wifi and data to be used together and haven't had any such issues.
In most cases the phone is ringing even during the covid alert recording.

It's definitely a software issue of some kind. It has to be linked to wifi, as the issue is with VoWifi - it starts to work the minute I turn off wifi. VoLTE works well. I thought the recent 10.5.11 update will fix it, but it didn't.
There's a lot of echo in OnePlus 8 Pro (12-256) when using a earphones or Bluetooth headphones
Any solutions?

My v20 drops all calls between 2 and 4 minutes in, and usually around the 3 minute mark. The call drops, signal goes to zero, and a moment later I get a toast message saying "Loading SIM card contacts..." and then I can immediately dial back in.
WiFi calling is disabled, though the setting being on or off doesn't seem to make a difference. I've cleaned the SIM card and added tape to the back to ensure good connectivity - no change. I also went to T-Mobile and they replaced my SIM on the spot but it immediately happened again in the store and in front of the clerk when we tried a call. They've suggested a warranty exchange.
One interesting thing I've found though is that disabling VoLTE calling fixes it entirely - it no longer drops calls, but of course there's no HD voice and I can't use band 12 and they're already cutting back on HSPA coverage.
Haven't found anything else useful via Google or XDA. Even with VoLTE enabled there are no data drops, VOIP calling via hangouts works fine. Anyone have any ideas short of a full exchange? Not rooted and while the LG backup app is pretty good, I really don't want to go through the day-long process of restoring everything if I can avoid it.
Hey there! I had the same issue, exchanged the phone for a new one, and STILL have the same isssue! Did you ever find another fix? This is so annoying and I cant believe a bigger deal isn't being made of it.
Something wrong with ur

Been owning V20 for about 5 weeks now. The first 3 weeks were pleasant until I started seeing dropped calls. Disabling VoLTE did not help. Changing sim card wouldn't help either.
I'm having similar issues H915 Freedom Mobile.
Was roaming on AT&T in the US when I first did the update. And everything was fine till I was home and on Freedom.
When Wi-Fi calling is enabled. It makes no difference if mobile preferred or VoWIFI preferred is selected. It enables either way after reboot or turning Wi-Fi adapter off and on again.
Incomming calls frequently don't come through regardless of whether vo wifi is on or off. Texts same problem. And persists sometimes on cellular and sometimes on VoWifi.
Get SIM errors, signal drop constantly. And have tried everything I can think of to rectify the issues with zero success.
Anyone with Freedom having similar issues? Or any suggestions I might not have thought of that may be the the cause?

Have been using this phone for about 1 year and 2 months now. Used a multitude of ROMs as well. Disregarding the different battery lives and heating issues, some problems remain consistently.
When on call, be it a WhatsApp audio call or regular cellular one, after talking for a while I start having network issues.
1. I can hear the person but the other can't
2. I can't hear the person but the other can hear me
3. Audio breaks up between us
4. There is no audio
This only happens in long calls, say over 7 or 8 minutes. Also, doesn't happen always but majority of times. Problem persists in both device mic and headphone mic.
Sometimes others tell me they get my number unreachable or engaged, but in that time I have full bars of network and am not in another call.
It happens with all network providers I've tried, namely Airtel, Vodafone, Aircel, Reliance Jio. And I am almost always on Wi-Fi, so I don't think there is any issue of data messing up calling. And also I always have full bars.
Went to the service centre a few months back as well, they did something after which the call quality did improve, but other problems are still there.
Any ideas on what my problems could be and should I go to the service centre again and pay or get it checked out by a local repair shop??
All ideas are welcome.
Thank you.
I'm finding that WiFi calling stops working randomly. A reboot gets it to work properly again. I have my advanced call settings on Global and Wifi Preferred as my option.
Anyone else having this issue with Oreo 8.1 and T-Mobile?

I've had this issue since I upgraded to 8.1. I've been planning on doing a factory reset to see if it fixes the problem, but I really don't want to go through the hassle of setting everything up again.
I have no cell signal at my desk at work, so I use the WiFi calling often. However, I have noticed something rather strange. If I try to make a call or send a text, it will sometimes say something like "No WiFi network available". There have been a few times after it has done this that I have received a call on WiFi, and then it will work fine for a while. Otherwise, a restart fixes it.

Another thing that I noticed is that when on Wi-Fi calling, sometimes the phone will only ring once before a call goes to voicemail. Seems like there may be a delay in the call coming through. I generally have a good Wi-Fi connection, but like any Wi-Fi connection, it can come in and out occasionally.
I want to avoid a factory data reset as well.
I have the same problem Essential on Sprint
I am also experiencing this since the 8.1 upgrade, 8n T-mobile. Multiple networks that had WiFi calling pre-update are no longer functioning on either of our phones(wife and I both have them). I often work in a basement, so this is an important function for me.
Edit: Oops, incorrect forum. Mods, please move if this is an issue. (Meant to be in OP6T)
Anyone else completely reliant on WiFi calling at home (zero signal / no data) able to send and receive MMS? They fail for me over WiFi calling, work flawlessly once I'm at work utilizing data (possibly ruling out APN issues)
Additionally, MMS send/receive work great on my wife's iPhone 7, and they worked perfectly fine on my OP5T until the Oreo update (at which point, that phone had stopped being able to send/receive MMS over Wifi Calling as well.) Anyone know any tricks to getting this to operate? The only alternative I have is to tell people to send picture messages / group messages to my Google Voice number.
Items tried:
Tried creating alternate APN that has more APN types
Tried activating the SIM that came in the box, as the one I was using was from my OP3T forever ago.
Tried using Google Messages as opposed to the stock SMS app
Tried using Signal (which works fine if the other end is also utilizing Signal - 99% of my contacts, however, are not.)
T-Mobile support seems to be completely blind to any issues with this, so just seeing if anyone else has a similar experience.
I have the unlocked OnePlus 6, I'm on T-Mobile and WiFi calling and texting works.
I had one instance that it wasn't working (I noticed the VoLTE icon was gone). To get it to work again, I had to reset Network settings (settings>system>reset options>reset WiFi, mobile and Bluetooth).
Presto!!
Try it out.
After this I turned airplane mode on, connected to WiFi and made calls and sent texts just fine.
Good luck
Does it work on any network?
Mine connects at home with internet and wifi calling. Works at a friends house too.
At my office it connects to the network and all functions normal except no wifi calling or sms.
My Galaxy S8 works with wifi calling at home, friends, AND at work.

We had this issue.. It was blocking some ports... thankfully someone who knew more than I did was able to work with them to whitelist the needed port thru the firewall. I admit that seems inconsistent with the S8 working @ your work.. but still worth following up with your IT.
What version of the 6t do you have? Tmo or International?
My OP6 works & sends mms just fine via wifi calling. It could also be a network issue maybe.
Has anyone comes across a Pie custom ROM where WiFi Calling works?
So far, Xenon HD 8.1 is the only one that I have gotten to work.

Latest treskmod is working now as well
Try this on your custom ROM, I am on a OP6 but this should apply to the OP6T.
Add this to /system/build.prop, save and reboot:
Code:
persist.vendor.cne.feature=1
WiFi Calling should function now.
It works on AOSiP and Omni for OP6. YMMV.
I have the unlocked 6T running OOS and cannot send MMS on WiFi-Calling. All calls and SMS texts work fine, just not MMS. I am on MetroPCS which is functionally the same as T-Mobile. On my 5T everything works perfect over WiFi-Calling including MMS.
Has anyone found a solution for MMS not working over WiFi-Calling for T-Mobile/MetroPCS?
Hi there,
I have a Mi A1 with LineageOS 17.1 that works fine, except that I cannot make phone calls to German landline numbers. I just hear some very distorted noise from my opposite, while he doesn't hear anything from me at all. Calls into the mobile network work fine.
The problem has already occurred before upgrading from 16 to 17.1.
The problem occurs for both SIM slots. After ejecting the SIM card and inserting it again, sometimes one or two calls are possible, then the error occurs again.
I have another Mi A1 (with a broken screen, though), which works fine.
Does anybody have an idea, if it is a hard- or software problem? Any ideas how to fix this problem? I would be thankful for suggestions.
Cheers

I have the same issues with stock ROM since June when making VoLTE Calls into any network (mobile or landline) in Germany. Try to disable VoLTE (4G Calling) in your SIM settings. At least that helped on my device - however falling back into GSM is a terrible workaround!

Thank you! This actually helps and makes my phone usable again!
It is still puzzling why this phenomenon occurs for one device and not for the other, why it occurs only for landline calls in my case and for all calls in your case, and what has made this phenomenon to occur at all. But at least: there is a workaround! Thanks!
