I have tried it ... but he does not recognize them when I press it

I have the exact same problem. Tried installing it today, Same head unit, in a 2012 Vito. With exactly the same problem. The cambus is not recognised by the unit or the vehicle.... I used the harness supplied with the bosion specifically for the vito but noticed on the original headunit there is 2x 12 pins (male) but the provided harness does not have these pins. (New here so unsure how to post photos)

Fixed....
Just an update, incase this pops up again.
I got in touch with the retailer who sent me a small video of a hidden settings option.
Inside there you have to change the "can version" mine was set to 0 without any settings preset.
The video is hosted on Dropbox showing how to set it correctly, here:
......
Appreciate it looks a bit suspect but it is a genuine instructional clip.
Edit......
Ok that didn't work, haha.
I will send the clip to a forum admin and they can add it to the topic

how is this unit?
Hi guys I am looking at purchasing this unit, the Price seems cheap for what it looks like you get... I see you found a work around for the canbus issue, are there any other flaws you have found? Can you replace the factory launcher with Nova launch or others? Does it have full access to the real google play store? Any lag or performance issues? Did it provide any noticeable audio improvement, is it 4x50 watt? any info or reviews would be GREATLY appreciated.

Honestly buddy.
It was bought for my work van.
Sound quality ain't all that good, however, this could be poor speakers.
I think it has full play store?
I've not actually checked everything but if I sign into my account, it shows all my apps in the library ready to install.
I can't comment on replacing the launcher.
It is not something I need to do as I am literally in the van for short amounts of time each day.
I have not had any lagging issues but again, it is not in use a great deal.
However the display is all fuzzy when mirroring my phone.
Boots up in around 10 seconds.
Google maps voice is an American female. I am in UK.
Possibly able to change that in the app though.
Essentially, I was looking for a Bluetooth headunit that had navigation capabilities and this does both faultlessly. Although it is better with an external mic.
Will be wiring in the reverse camera at the weekend. (And dash cam, if it arrives in time)
For the price I don't think you can go far wrong.
I asked a administrator to add the video but they don't want to for some reason?
Said I should post the link using spaces. I will do that at some point tomorrow. (I am currently posting through my phone and the link is saved on my laptop).

See here for canbus fix: remove the spaces copy it into address bar

Thanks for the feedback
Matsons, thanks for the feedback this is helpful. Like you said for the price you kind of can't go wrong, I do see some development on the STM32 MCU recently as well, so if it can be rooted, should be able to fix most of the bugs we run into. Thanks again for the feedback!

hello,
how did you get in the hidden settings option ?
i have the same problem to solve.

That's great, you found a retailer that will actually support your unit. Will they give you root?
I look forward to playing with the secret menu. I wonder if I can get a Ford to work without an interface module.
I have installed 4 of these single din px6 in different cars/rv's. For the money, I love them.
Screen is beautiful, controls are snappy.
I sure hope more development happens with them.

I also have a Bosion PX6. Does anyone have a website or email for Bosion for questions? Im not able to get canbus to work in 2010 Toyota.

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and I am going to modernize my car by changing the old 1 din radio for an Android device, I am researching these two devices:
Joying UIS7862 Android 10 Octa Core 4Gb 64Gb
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMUKPv7
Bosion BX-D11 Android 10 PX6 Cortex A72+A53 4Gb 64Gb
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNFYobL
Taking into account your knowledge of the subject, which of both is better in terms of performance, possibilities, better sound quality and fewer errors. I want it to be compatible with reverse camera, dvr cam, ocb, etc.
Thanks for replying and excuse my English.

Hello forum hijacker,
I suggest not replacing with a Chinese unit, unless comfortable with issues, lack of reseller support and intermittent issues.
Instead, consider a genuine, branded Android Auto unit, which the Chinese units are not.
If you decide you still want a buggy Chinese Android head unit, an MTCD/E type has alot of user base, who work on problems / mods. E.g. Dasaita/Hot audio.

Bosion is Android 9 not 10 MCU is STM32 software is buggy with Malaysk ROM its better.

ZX803 model AllWinner chip 8" Android 4 capacitive screen car head unit

Hello everyone, I purchased this unit (VW submodel) few days ago. Picture attached.
it works great.
8"
pure android
1ghz cpu,
1gigs of ram,
4gigs of flash + microSD,
capacitive.
Does anybody have the unit with same chipset so we can exchange some info? For example, I can't find an entrance to hidden menu that was presented to me at first boot,
I don't know how to restart the unit, and I have a slight issue with car battery draining.
To be straight on topic, I have modified stock radio application to be more... ... presentable It was terrible, colors were out of this world
This unit came rooted. So I could easily replace the stock radio app.
If somebody needs it just let me know.
Now it looks like this:
Thanks!
Could you post a link to the stock radio app. I have the S150 Head unit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503964
Which has now been updated to Android 4.03 but the radio app is terrible!! Spirit Radio will not work either so would be nice to give yours a go on the off chance it is compatible.
Oh and to enter the "hidden menu" on the 2.3 Android S150 you dialled "*#98723" from the phone app. However this doesn't seem to be working after updationg to 4.03 but I'm going to post it on the S150 thread and see if anyone knows how to get into it so have a look there.

The pictures of the unit isn't enough to verify which model you have. The problem is that the faceplates are crossed used between several manufacturers. So, going by the picture alone is not enough to identify the unit.
If you already have the model check the "About this device" in Settings application is an easy way to identify your model. You can also run "cat /proc/cpuinfo" or "getprop ro.device.fingerprint" in either "adb shell" or a terminal app then check for the keywords below from the returned syntax. If it does not match any of them then post the output here.
A way to differentiate between the different Chinese Android head units is by the exact processor included:
Allwinner A10 (sun4i) 1.0 Ghz Cortex A8 Single Core processors in the TVBOX family.
Freescale i.MX535 (imx53_smd) 1.0 Ghz Cortex A8 Single Core processors are usually found units in the OUKU Unbranded family.
Mstar MST786 (cedric) 1.0 to 1.2 Ghz Cortex A9 Dual Core processors are found in the units in the AN-21U family.
Samsung S5PV210 (smdkv210) 1.0 Ghz Cortex A8 Single Core processors are found in the units in the S100/S150 family.
Samsung Exynos 4412 (smdk4x12) 1.7 GHz Quad Core processors are found in the units in the WD8801 family.
Telechips TCC8925 (m805s) 1.0 to 1.2 Ghz Dual Core processors are found in the units in the TCC8925 family.
While I do suspect you have the Allwinner A10 as noted by the title of the thread, you might want to verify it to make sure you can post in the correct thread.

Hello everyone, I also purchased a zx803 unit for toyota corolla model.
The same specs that stanjkof wrote.
I would like to exchange info and ideas to improve this unit.
Stanjkof, I dont know what hidden menu you say, I flashed firmwares several times and I never saw that menu.
If you dont have a little hole to reset unit, you can use any app to restart from google play.
Your radio app mod looks nice, well done!. Can you share it?

Hello, drop me an email in private message, I will send it to you via email (I still can't post external links here).
Are you satisfied with the unit? i guess they have some quirks but overall I like it.
I found that Poweramp is the best player for car unit regarding sound quality, album art and so on.

You have over ten posts now, so you should be able to post URLs. Besides, you could have encapsulated URLs with an underscore (_) in order to post links. For example, _http://www.google.com_ and it will bypass the forum's parser that checks and replaces it with a clickable link or prevents you from posting if you have < 10 posts.
On a sidenote is there anyone here that can do me a favor and please install Android System Info. Click on the "System" tab, click on the application (overflow) menu and export results to file. Go through it, its a simple html file in /mnt/sdcard directory and censor any information that want to hide like accounts names and SSID then upload it as an attachment. I'd like to open a dedicated Wiki page for this unit and that way you can have a place for FAQs and such.

Thanks for your app radio i will test soon.
Overall I like it too, but have a few problems that I think could be solved with an software update, for example:
switching sound beetwen radio and android sound is buggy in my unit, Bluetooht module is not visible for android, so you cannot use to connect with obd2 device.
I think stock player is the best option because other players take more time to launch and if you are driving, you need a very simple and direct interface.
Otherwise,I found default launcher slow and choppy so I installed holo launcher, it runs smoother than go launcher.
I'm looking for a minimal interface when I´m driving so I test some car dock apps and widgets. I am currently using Car Home Ultra, I use autostarter to run the app when android boot and I use also a volume schedule app so android volume is set at boot.

I hear that this radio is not compatible with cheap OBD2 adapters, people have purchased another bluetooth dongle to use with radio for OBD2.
(there is compatibility list somewhere) and than it works. And then there is another problem, you can't use USB hub to plug in multiple devices to USB, power is too low. So you have to use powered USB hub to have wifi adapter and bluetooth adapter plugged at the same time.
I haven't noticed bad transitions from FM to mp3.
Nice tip for autostarter app, I was looking something similar, thanks.
Poweramp is quite simple, it starts automatically if left working when you turned off the car. But the sound quality is far better-deeper (costs 4$ I believe, 0$ on torrents )
I use "Screen Dimmer" app (widget) to dimm the screen when driving at night.
As for launcher, I have swithched it to APEX launcher and looked no further. Fast, minimalist, customizeable...
My unit had NEXT launcher, and that was tacky overkill. I guess that is also GO launcher derivate.
I have slight problem - noticed that unit really never sleeps. I was poking around my cellphone and noticed it had automatically connected to car bluetooth. But car was locked and shut down in the garage!
So I tried another smartphone, and it also found car kit as active!
So today I have disabled that bluetooth service.
Do you also have some sort of "canbus service" active?

Screen dimmer app its a good idea, i will try it.
I didnt notice problems with sleep, i will test later, but perhaps you check bluetooth conection very soon, I think device is runing a few minutes after you remove car key to shutdown android.
I dont have any kind of "can bus service", I only have a configuration vehicle app, so i can configure stering wheel buttons and other stuff but nothing about canbus, maybe that is especific for VW.

Thanks CompletelyNumb,
before installing it, a shot from the front and the back, to see what butttons, dials have, and ports/connectors
I dont know if you can remove the top and keep the warranty, to take a shot of the SoM inside and check what oct core is, maybe know for a fact if it is the Allwinner A83T, what Bluetooth it have
Also whe you install it, please get some shots of the Android info, version, kernel, processor, the Bluetooth contacts/calling screens, and if you have access, the menu with the canbus settings/steering wheel controls
and the default music application and radio application
Thats lot, sorry
and thank you very much
Ditto - Is this really a funded project or are they getting Chinese units and branding them? No information is out there... The website is very limited.
Ditto. Currently working with them to get an Audi TT version. I am really stoked about the 10-15 sec startup time I keep hearing about but very few actual videos/reviews of this unit. I am also concerned about FM reception, screen brightness (last few android headunits had TERRIBLE washed out screens) and overall low voltage audio output quality (going to a DSP but still would prefer 4V minimum). PLEASE!! Anyone with the new Octacore whether it's 4.4 or 5.1, please share your thoughts.

NEW 2018 Subaru Outback

Hello Everyone,
I traded in my 2014 Subaru Outback for a new 2018 Outback. In my 2014, I removed the original stereo unit and put in a fantastic Android HU with SYGIC GPS, that unfortunately won't fit in my new car. (The old unit is for sale, just sayin')
For the past two weeks, I've been looking to replace the crappy "Starlink" unit in my new 2018, but I'm having difficulty finding one that will install with the current faceplate. I contacted the company that I bought the original one from, and they said that their engineers are working on it, and will take about 6-8 weeks to come up with one. Has anyone found a suitable HU for a 2018 Outback? The issue I have with the HU that came with the car is that the only way to communicate with it is through Bluetooth using a smart phone via the USB input or with Bluetooth. That means wires. It also means having a smart phone, which I don't and NEVER wanted to have. I use the original Motorola V3 RAZR Flip Phones for a number of reasons, and they work just fine.
OR - Does anyone know how I can hack into this "Starlink" unit that came with my car? All I want to do is perhaps root it, or at least install some of my own apps and also to be able to use my hotspot and download stuff. There has to be a 'code' or certain buttons to press to get into this machine, but I haven't been able to find anyone smart enough to figure this one out. I'd be happy to compensate anyone who can help. I did just that with the older HU, so if you can help, just let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Hi justacafe,
I'm in the same situation (OB 2018).
Did you succeed to solve this issue?
Thanks,

Hi Yoni,
Yes, but I haven't installed the unit yet. Here's what I did:
1) I ordered the dash face plate (#95-9909), wiring harness (#70-1761) and antenna adapter (#40-LX11) from metraonline dot com
2) The Android head unit I finally decided on is the Pumpkin Android 9.0 Universal Quad-Core 7" TouchScreen Car Radio DVD Player RAM:2GB/ROM:32GB
I've spoken with the folks at Metra about their parts and they guaranteed the fit, and indeed they do. I'm waiting on delivery of the Pumpkin Android 9.0 unit from China. The good news is that I've been consulting with Matthew at 4diyers.com who has a great review and installation video of the Pumpkin Android 8.0 unit and says that the 9.0 Android OS has some major new features and upgrades. You can see his video at: youtube dot com/watch?v=fyeewMstsjo[/url]
I'm not anticipating any major hang-ups in regard to the wiring part of the installation, but I'm not opposed to changing out the amplifier if that's what it takes. The speakers should be okay. So......I do plan on doing a video of the install procedure and I'll send you a link to it once it's finished. In the end, even my Subaru dealer thinks that Starlink 'infotainment' unit really sucks. No one likes it. I belong to the outback forum and the same there......they hate that unit. Good luck.
Mike
P.S. They wouldn't let me post an actual url…...hence the 'dot com'
COOL!
Very useful information - Thanks.
Looking forward for the video / to hear how the process was.
BTW, did you mean #95-8909 instead of #95-9909?
Good luck,
Yoni

Hi Yoni,
Yes, but I haven't installed the unit yet.

Yes....sorry, the 95-8909. The inside dimensions are a perfect fit for that Pumpkin Android 9.0. Have you had a chance to check that unit out? By the way, I was going to get an Android head unit from Seicane dot com. It's a 10.35 Inch Touch Screen, but I would have had to change out the heater/air control unit (3 dials instead of the two in my car) because it wasn't long enough by about 15mm. It seems it fit the years 2015-2017. If you go to their web site, check out the unit, Model:S081992K. I went round and round with these people about updating that product to the latest Android OS and I would have gladly changed out the heater controls. The other thing I didn't quite like about the unit is there's no SD card slot and only 16GB ROM. That meant that my maps program would be internal, instead of the on SD card, (I use SYGIC) which would have eaten up a lot of that 16GB. Otherwise, it's a nice unit and I definitely like the 10.35 inch screen, however it's twice as expensive as the Pumpkin. There ya go....!

Hi
This is my second HU I had a Xtrons PF75Q5FA, the Joying is better than the Xtrons.
All the basic functions work well. No problems with the bluetooth or radio that sum people have had.
The WiFi seems very slow, connection signal strength OK just slow.
The display suffers from reflection making it hard to read at times, I fitted an anti-glare protector which helps.
The stock launcher is OK.
Tried using "Carwebguru" which I prefer, unfortunately when you press the physical 'Home' button the unit goes back to the default launcher,
using the soft 'Home' button works fine.
Generally I am happy with what is a basic unit.
If you would like some pictures I have had the unit apart (soldering of BT/WiFi cables is bad)

I tried there first, no luck.
The default ROM has no major problems looking around just for fun.

Have you set Carwebguru as the defalt launcher in settings? The new one wont be able to do it on its own.
Soldering a legit SMA and antenna does wonders, did on my MTCB. My Joying PX5 wifi was ok, nothing to bother with changing.

Here's what I'm hoping for:
Run a custom launcher
Run a few useful travel apps (GasBuddy, TPMS monitoring, trailer leveling app)
Be able to control what the source button on the front rotates through (AM, FM, SD card files, perhaps IHeartRadio, perhaps Spotify, etc.)
Backup camera
Video output (for GM's rear headrest displays)
I plan to use my phone as a wifi hotspot for any apps (i.e., GasBuddy) that require data.

Custom launcher: good to go
Travel apps: sleep may break functions, don't know.
Custom Source: This will require root, xposed, tasker, I only have ideas in theory in how this would work.
Backup camera:gtg
Video output: I believe video output will only happen from stock video app, it may be picky on formats, aspect ratio, etc..
About root, and xposed; Its not really fully tested yet. I've been able to do it over USB, other(s) has not. Even then my root is only temporary, it is lost on reboot. If your HU ever looses power (change car battery) you will have to re-root. I'm lucky that I can do it from my tablet, but it relies on the cloud (kingoroot), that does not make me comfortable in trying to future proof my head unit. Granted, you only need root once for xposed but there could be a feature or a work around that would suck to loose on reboot.
Issues with non stock music players. Spoitfy, for example will continue to play for 5mins after you turn off the car. There are workarounds, it's easier with xposed, tasker. Without root you have to trigger tasker off of wifi, or a ACC powered USB device to pause the music.
If you really like to tinker, I recommend the android headunits. Anticipate bench testing for some time before you install into auto.
I've posted about it before, but I'll again share my favorite piece of hardware.
RcJoyCon - Steering wheel interface
http://www.exinterface.com/cpjexc/
Works with CANBUS, IBUS, Restive controls, converts them to USB keyboard. When used with Xposed Additions, gives you crazy amount of SWC power. Single, double, triple clicks, double taps, triple taps, tap and hold, can all be task assignments in Android. It also allows to change button layout depending on app being used. I could't live without it, I "could" do "everything" from just my steering wheel controls.

Wow, thank you for taking the time to type this all up! Lots of extremely useful detail aimed exactly at my planned usage.
I definitely plan on a solid amount of bench time configuring whatever I choose before installation - this is part of the reason I'd like to order sooner than later!
If I get lucky and my unit can root over USB, then I'm okay with the power-loss behavior because I can reroot without having to remove the unit from the vehicle (I think?).
The Spotify behavior sounds pretty annoying. Is this a Spotify issue that I'll face no matter which unit I choose, or is it something specific to the UM135N4PX5?

Common bug of these android head units. Can't really recommend PX5 right now.
Look into Joying sofia 3gr, Intel, still learning alot, but its the best option right now.
Does Sygic Navigation& Spotify work with this Unit?
I just need Auto dashdroid Launcher, Sygic & Spotify

I ordered their new 4GB PX5 unit, but currently have an older rk3188 unit they sold 2 years ago. I've loved it, minus the horrible radio reception despite the powered antenna in the car wired correctly and turning on.
Anything that can be done on these units to improve radio reception?

Spotify will work. You will have to come up with your own method to pause and resume playback, on car start
@carter.w.jason
You have a PX5 and a Sofia. The Sofia units have a bug in their GPS HAL since the October ROM or so. It uses integers to calculate the m/s instead of floats. It means that the speed steps are going in 4 km/hr step up and down, instead of 1 km/hr steps. The GPSSpeedFix xposed module corrects this.
Does the PX5 have this same GPS HAL integer/float bug or is it functioning correctly?

All joying websites are down??

Its almost spring and ill be taking umy summer car out soon and one is my todo projects is revamping the audio in the car as it's old and ancient. I was considering going with a non intel joying unit last year using an external usb dac and amplifier and thought id see whats new.. Seems like. More new options came to be and joying is gone????

Get the Intel. Faster than the px3 or px5 units. Plus the custom roms support the USB dac.
So rom and customization are now good on the intel models? Looks like their prices were bumped on the euro site compared to what they cost before. Whats the latest intel unit then. They all seem 2gb ram only still

2gb ram is plenty on the units, I haven't come across a need for more, even with tons of apps.
I've just discovered XSofiaTweaker for Xposed works on the Joying PX5, solves a lot of problems.
I really like them, the custom audio apps(Radio, etc) respect audio focus, unlike my experience with the MTC units. Going from Spotify to Radio and vise-versa, works as it should with no back end tweaking.
My Joying PX5 is turning out to be a pretty good, sub $300, deal.
XSofiaTweaker Updates.
nokill switch works, has bugs. Will test SofiaServerNoKill....works! use instead of nokill switch
unmute ch 4 works
ACC_ON/OFF works. (Thank you)
Prevent BT app on top, works!

Root info here. Had to use Kingoroot Windows method. Looking foward to finding a method that sticks after reboot(rare issue on these deep sleep units) and a method that doesn't need the cloud.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75869637&postcount=6
Then installed with XposedInstaller_3.1.1.apk, HU then went through a very long reboot. Had to re-root whenever necessary, don't remember details or if it was needed. Though, no issues with Xposed.

Nice thanks for the reply. Wish I had one of these units...the fyt stuff is really easy to work with. I'm sure a custom ROM can be made for the px5 fyt units as well.

Sounds promising. That XposedInstaller, is that a "tweaked" version? Or does the Google Play version work just as well?

I recall it being a tweaked version. I can't remember were I got it. Have not tested Google Play version.
I'm pretty sure I found it in a MTCD thread, when I wrongly thought I had a MTCD unit.
surfer63, gtxaspec, your work has not gone unnoticed. I bought a Joying Intel unit last night. TWRP, USB DAC, BT, Custom ROM will be nice to have.
Question, How do you enter TWRP on a unit with no buttons?

Your Google drive link doesn't work. Can you share the apk in some other way?
I think the only way for you is the reset hole. Reset the unit 3x and it will go into recovery mode. But that has no use on a standard Joying ROM as the recovery image doesn't have a menu or so. It only works on a Joying firmware usb-key/SD-card.

Nice to hear that the XSofiaTweaker in general works fine.
The NoKill behavior is strange. The hooks in the modules are the same and I just downloaded the ROM for your unit. The Sofia-1-C9-Server.apk (Sofia) is identical to 000000000_com.syu.ms.apk (PX5 Rom).
The "public static void killAppWhenSleep()" is identical as well.

Perhaps we are missing something that's supposed to be called from the other functions that killappwhensleep calls...which is why it's more than just one method fix in the small patches...??
Edit
Is he talking about the sofiaservernokill Xposed module or the sofiaservernokill modded app???
