hey guys and maybe gals
first when the DHD got released they explained the low battery (1230 mAh) is that the new processor doesn't need that much of battery, then the MyTouch4G got released with the same processor and the same amount of ram, smaller screen. and all of that with more battery, so can some1 explain why i'm confused? lol
becouse they (HTC) dont want to release the perfect phone becouse then every one would be happy en wouldnt buy new phones
If you think that battery life is the most important thing in a mobile, take a backpack put a car battery inside, stabilize the output at 5V, plug it in the usb port and your phone will last for months with one charge .
In the design process of every device there are a number of compromises and in the end you get a balanced product. You can't have both light, small and lasting a week. The DHD is on the edge of being both light and "small", so I presume that's the most juice HTC could put in it. And of course they want us to buy new phones

Hi everyone,
as my HD2 gets older its battery life time isn't satisfying anymore. (See below)
Now I am looking for a new battery and as far as I remember a couple of months before our kernel developers did some work on battery support. Therefore I am unsure if these third-party batteries are still compatible with Android-HD2s.
Is it safe to buy one of these third-party batteries and use them with Android or should I stick with HTC's original batteries?
Thx in advance for your help.

Get yourself some Chinese extended batteries I've had them since January
they're from 2400ma to 2600ma so you're doubling your battery life
Theyre worth the 10 dollars here in usa I bought two of them
dont know how much they are in germany.... but theres plenty of them on Ebay I dont buy them from a chinese seller bc of the 2 week wait
you should find some german or european seller quite cheaply too
They are SO worth it
I barely even use my standard battery anymore I keep it as back up lol
As far as Htc batteries THEY ARE TOO EXPENSIVE
And trust me they are ALL made in china no matter what. Hell everything is nowadays
I'm using Chinese extended 2600 mAh battery and I can run for 2 days with it (approx 5-6 calls, 30 sms and about 1-2 hours of Internet per day).
I use the original battery from HTC.
My record is 1d15h without charging in normal use (as i used it with all the other ROMs, which last only 13-14h).
I use Tytungs Nexus GB ROM + r12 Kernel.

get the same battery as what you had before....
if the battery is buldged it has worn out some of it's cells inside,
thus reducing capacity

Buy a new Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery for your phone & use some power manager app like Juice Defender

Bulge is the sign of deterioration of the battery . You must replace it ASAP with another one.
Its always better to buy original, sealed samsung battery . others may end up harming your phone by overheating or leakages .

I agree with the others here in saying to replace your battery soon with the original battery type. As far as a higher capacity battery (and possibly the new battery cover it will require), they usually don't offer much extension to normal battery, usually about 4-6 hours extra.
If you use your device frequently and require a lot of battery backup, then research an extended battery in the future - but still get the OEM replacement battery now.
