I have exactly the same problem, I installed thirdparty launcher like lawchair 2, and set it to default.
Don't know if it had something to do with this.
Now I flashed back to stock ROM.
Any one have a solution on this?
Not just your phone, I am experiencing this as well as of this moment. I have Galaxy S10, bootloader unlocked, rooted with Magisk and installed hades ROM.
After todays reboot, I cannot use my phone - on lockscreen, I draw a pattern and it just goes back to lock screen. It doesn't matter whether I boot the phone in root mode (Power + Bixby + Vol Up) or normal mode (just start with Power button).
I don't know how to fix it and I want to avoid reflashing the whole phone as I just finished setting it up from scratch.
Well... interesting thing... when this happens to you next time, try to boot into recovery (TWRP) and then back to system.
This has helped me twice now. After such reboot, I can get past the lock screen loop.
Still trying to figure out how to fix this.

When you do that, you boot in the non Rooted System. There it works for me too. But when i try booting into rooted System i have a Lockscreen loop as described of you.
btw Galaxy s10 SM-G973F
I ve been there once. In my case it was the SoundAssistant app causing this. Somehow. Luckily I had my PC authorized so I was able to use adb to uninstall the app and reboot. Then reinstall.
A little more details on this fyi, it isnt bootloop because its still in the lock screen. Just the app (with "appear on top" permissions) somehow isnt able to load properly so it keeps opening and closing.
If you happen to have SoundAssistant installed, try above. If not, you can go to safemode see if it still happens. After that you might need to take some time to figure out which app is causing.
I dont think this has anything to do with Magisk or root, at all.

I think do too. Had it solved by renaming every item with "keypass" in /vendor/lib/hw
which disabled my pin, so everything worked fine.

My phone keeps rebooting, showing the Vibrant Samsung screen, then doing some CLI stuff with the ! point icon (goes so fast I cant see it), then shows the GalaxyS CyanogenMOD screen, then restarted the process.
I tried removing the batter, no luck, does the same thing.
How can I get out of this loop?
Nevermind. I fixed it.
And how did you fix it? last time it hapenned to me I had to Odin back to stock.......

sorry, should have posted what I did.
I just held the buttons to boot into CWR. I ended up doing a ODIN back to stock.
Update: *SOLVED*
I got a strange message that popped up on my phone this morning. It stated "It's gonna rain. Take a umbrella with you". It stayed on top everything else and wouldn't go away. I thought that it could possibly be one of my weather apps and got stuck, so I rebooted. After that point, it gets to the Google loading screen animation and never passes. After subsequent reboots, it does the same thing. I am able to get into TWRP recovery though.
Does anyone know what be causing this and/or how to remedy it? Might it be some type of malware? I have attached a screenshot of it.

Thanks for the link! I do have GO Weather installed, and I have no issue with getting rid of it. Although, I'm unsure how to do that since I can't boot. Any recommendations?

well, since you can boot in twrp you can do a factory reset.
safe mode is a better idea but i dont think you can boot into safe mode without starting the phone.
here are the steps but i dont think it will work so try to delete dalvik and cache from recovery, if that didnt work I think factory reset is the only option unless someone has a better idea
Make sure your device's screen is on, then press & hold the Power button.
In the box that opens, touch & hold Power off.
You’ll see a “Reboot to safe mode” box. Touch OK.
Your device will start up in safe mode. Try using your device normally. Remember, you won’t be able to use any installed apps

I tried clearing the cache and dalvik earlier, along with deleting the GO Weather app files, but that didn't help. I thought about safe mode, but I don't see a way to do it without already being booted to Android.
What if I dirty flash the same stock 6.0 ROM I'm using? I'd like to keep files and apps intact, so I'd prefer to not perform a factory reset, but will if I exhaust other options.
I just realized that I never came back here to update on what happened. I wound up booting into TWRP recovery, connecting to my PC via USB, backing up any data that I needed, then factory reset. That took care of it. Luckily, that also cleared up some other minor, but annoying, issues I was having. Needless to say, I haven't been and won't be using GO Weather EX any longer.
Hello everyone,
here what's happenend:
I have downloaded the ota normally
charge enough
click on install
the installation looked normal
after the installation was finished it boots normally until the "Android was updating, optimize apps.." come that runs from 0 to 89 apps and then it reboots
and at this point something went wrong.
the oneplus bootlogo appeard and the boot animation plays. but when it finished the screen is black and after a few seconds the "android was updating" banner appeard again.
then it goes again in the bootanimation and so on..
i've restarted my phone by pushing the powerbutton once. still not working.
My phone is stock!
no root
no costum recovery
I hope you can help me.
Cheers, Confused.

If you are able to boot into twrp then follow the guide mentioned below (Twrp has MTP enabled just in case u didn't know) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/zip-oxygenos-3-x-t3392826
thank you for the answer.
i dont have twrp installed i've only the stock recovery
what if i do a factory reset ?
i read this as a solution here:

i am also stuck at same situation but the prob is i hav no recovery installed and i dont want to loose my internal data...is there a way to roll back ????
same here
I also installed through the software update button.
Everything seemed to work fine till optimizing apps.
Then my phone was showing starting apps...
it did it for an indefinite time and then i pressed the power button to reboot the phone.
however now it is not moving beyond the android logo and i dont want to lose my data so i am not clearing data.
i tried clearing my cache.
Any help please?
I am using stock recovery,unrooted phone,OOS 3.0.2
Galaxy S4 I9505
Phone was second hand to me at the start of this year, though had been well looked after, always in a case etc
I flashed it with the newest stock ROM in January this year
I9505XXUHOJ2_I9505BTUHOJ1_I9505XXUHOJ2
& rooted with CF AutoRoot
It has worked fine until about 2 weeks ago, when it randomly shut down. After restarting, it kept bootlooping.
Left it off & charging overnight, & the next morning it booted ok. Managed to use spotify for a few hours.
Then it started bootlooping again, sometimes getting all the way but then crashing after a few minutes.
Managed to boot into recovery & do a 'wipe cache', that didnt fix it.
'Wipe data' didnt fix it
Have flashed the PIT file & ROM (via odin), no errors in odin, done it twice now
wiped cache & data
still wont boot past the white splash screen, only sometimes boots into recovery
(also, only the menu button lights up, not the back button.)
I've checked the power button (clicks & dosnt stick)
Dont think the batteries the issue (charges fine, dosnt get warm, isnt bulging)
What else could stop it booting?
Have you tried booting into safe mode?
Safe mode, from what I read, can be accessed by holding the menu button while the phone boots.
But you should also do some reading about it, in case I'm wrong.
The other idea would be to try a custom ROM.

Can't boot into safe mode
(& having read up on it, it would only not run apps that arn't already in the ROM)
Any suggestions for a custom ROM
& why would it work when the original official one won't?
Well, it's booted far enough to get into android & add a google account, then it bootloops again.
Then after leaving it off for a while, it will boot & let me look at settings etc, then bootloop
however
the menu soft key stays lit all the time after a boot
the top half of the phone, around the camera, gets very warm
Does that indicate it's a hardware issue?
Could it be the battery?
If it's the top half warming up without you doing anything, it's the motherboard.
Boot into recovery and and let it stand by, see if it reboots.

The battery can't prevent the ROM from booting. It would have to turn off during the boot, which it doesn't. So, by my logic, it isn't the battery.
Try official CM.

I am not able to go into recovery after firmware flash. The recovery bot appears and when the blue loading bar goes to half, the phone reboots and then again boot loop. I just noticed this always happened when i flashed a rom. I was never able to enter recovery on first boot.

Why do you want to do factory wipe after one boot?
Its the only thing i didn't tried till now, my phone crashes and reboots everytime during boot.

Was just using it today morning and it froze up on me... I held the power button and forced shut it down. Then I tried booting it up. It goes to the warning screen (Cause I have unlocked my phone.) Then it takes me to the google white logo screen thing and yeah, just turns off, back to the warning screen then back to the google screen. I was rooted with twrp recovery. Phone wont even boot into recovery, just keeps repeating those steps. I tried using the nexus toolkit as well, to boot into a temporary recovery, no luck. I even used the bricked/wont turn setting. Which just flashed all the stock images into the phone. But same thing, over and over again.
Seems like i have the bootloop death and nothing seems to bring it up. My question is how do I go about contacting google and trying to get a different device? Or something they can help me with? I brought it from amazon (my dad did.) So no idea what to do... Is there a email or a contact no?

No, I did not attempt that. Somehow miraculously, when I was chatting with customer support, the phone booted in after about 2 hours of bootlooping. However, I had wiped it by then. I read somewhere about allowing the bootlooping phone to bootloop for sometime. Then it would get in and we would have to change some kernel settings related to the big CPU cores.
I did no such thing , however, I do not know when the problem will reoccur.
Also had the bootloop when flashing N2G48B. Flashed N2G47W and now boots again.
