Need help with Rockchip RK3028 Kernel/Android upgrade - Android Stick & Console RockChip based Computers

Hi,
I am using a Tewee device and currently uninstalled every bloatware using link2sd apk. only using few apps which are required. but the device performance is very poor and videos hangs a lot.
i want to upgrade my device with new kernel and Android (the max it can handle). the device is currently rooted and SU installed, also using swapper and a 512mb swap memory on sd card.
the device info is attached for reference.
any developer can help with a rom file and a new kernel.
thanks in advance

[Q] [HD2-nand]Low internal memory

Hi,
I recently installed some NAND android (i.e. miui 1.4.29) roms (magldr), they work perfectly. I also partitioned my sd card with 1GB ext3(also tried other values) and in my system info it says there is available a2sd+ memory. But on every rom and with every install I have a maximum of +-7.5MB internal memory space of which +-1.5MB is free to use. So if I install 1 app my memory is full and i can't read my sms messages etc.... Why do other users have 100MB+ free space? Is there a way to check where all that memory is being used? (overall?), At install I wiped my device fyi.
thanks in advance,
Jo

can you tell us your device spec, magldr/clk/ partition size/flash.cfg etc
my guess is...you have EU HD2 and you flashed a 350> partition
did you install a radio that allows 576mb ram? I am not an expert but that is needed and there are several available. Also, post as many details about your phone and what you did so that the Developers have enough information to help you better.

If he hadn't, magldr wouldn't start, android wouldn't boot.

Tips: Increasing internal memory capacity by 50%, managing effectively

Requirements: You're play is rooted and ext2 partition is available on youre sd card.
1. Install Link2sd v2.0.2 from market.
The updated version allows you to convert system application to user apps. Thus, pre-install games can now be move to be user apps.
2. convert pre-install apps to be user apps, and create link to the application.
you will notice somehow an increase in the available internal memory.
I hope, I help somehow..
I apologize if others can't follow my information above. I included here the more detailed instructions for using link2sd, please see link :-D

I never worry about space on mine. If you are rooted, you can use DroidSail Super App2SD. Its free and it works perfectly. I have transferred every single game to SD and they all work perfectly (every game that came on the phone, every game I have ever downloaded). I am consistently at about 250MB free.

Thanks for telling me about that, there is no hassle with partitioning sd card now
Cool, i´ll try it. More internal memory!
I like it because if something did not work (I have not encountered a game or app that has not when moved) the option exists to move it BACK. It is very similar to an app I used to use on the Tapwave Zodiac back in the Palm days. One of the main reasons to have root on the Play is this app!

i already done that.
system apk to user apk, and vice versa.
then link to SD
to those who want to partition their sd card to ext2 partition, simply download mini tool partition on youre pc, create partition (not more 1gb), it should be primary type and ext2.
i hope it helps
You can actually go up to ext4 without problem on this phone. Oh, and if you don't want to download a program to partition your sd card, and are confident in your adb abilities, look here.
OK...I think I just bricked my XPlay? When I tried to convert the Android Framework (I think that's what it's called) from system app to user app, my phone suddenly restarted, and is constantly restarting without getting into the UI at all... any idea what has happened here and how it can be fixed?

The Android framework is like system32 for windows. Basically, don't mess with it. You're not bricked. Use FlashTool to reflash the .ftf file for your phone version.

Thanks for letting me know. Will I loose all my info such as SMS, contacts, etc.? And where can I find info on how to reflash and get the correct .ftf for the phone?
Here is the FlashTool thread, and pretty much just search the Development subforum to find the thread that specifically deals with your phone model, whether it's x, i, at, or whatever else there is.
Flashing that .ftf will put you back to stock, so hope that you had your contacts backed up with your Google account. And SMS will be gone, as well as everything else that was personal.
Thanks a lot...it's unfortunate if I can't get my info back...
nvm
Sounds like you're not allowed to move that one.

Thanks for the info...I got my phone working again... the firmware I flashed is much better than the previous that was installed. Everything runs faster, and PSX games run smoother and faster...

How can I expand my internal storage?

Hey guys, hoping you could could give me more of a 'step-by-step' guide on how to expand my internal memory with my 8gb SD card. Please keep it mega-simple, I only got this phone yesterday, and managed to flash ICS thanks to a very basic tutorial.
Thanks

?? What ROM r u using ??
The easiest way is using application or script that move application to SD card. These things will move your application to your sd card and not wasting your internal memory. it's work perfectly fine.
There are many script available - chose one that match your ROM cause not all script are working perfectly to every ROM.
try search using A2SD and ....... (your ROM) to see which one work and which one donot...... Unfortunately i have to tell u that some script might working well with someone's phone (even u have the same ROM).
The second way is to install the app to SD program, like link2sd, app2sd... it's free on the market. Also this program is not working on everyone's phone. However it's easier to install.
after install script and application there might be a problem like low sound, lag, internet issue etc. so check that everything is Ok after u do anything.
I can't give u a step by step 'cause i dont know which ROM r u using.....

it's different for roms indeed. generally we have app2sd, app2sd+(aka app2ext), data2ext, d2sd, ad2sdx and so on.
the most basic and convenient 1 is link2sd from play store~
i think it's impossible to expand an internal storage. capacity is fixed. i read somewhere that some of space will be used for kernel and ROMs wil use another some of internal memory space to copy system files. so normally you will have internal memory available around 150-200MB depends on partition layout you make. the only way if you want to install many application is as mentioned above to move your application to SDcard, and i think link2sd app is the easiest way to do that

[Q] Always running out of internal space.

I wonder why my phone runs out of internal space so quickly. Even with apps all installed in the SD card, as soon as it's time to update, the phone runs out of storage. I'm using a rooted stock rom with the latest update from Samsung and with a 2GiB microsd that came with the phone.
Is there a way to solve this without using a custom rom?
You need to get a minimum 8GB SD card & install Link2SD & link all the apps to the sd card, see the link2SD tutorial here:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614700
Your ROM should also have init.d support & stock ROM doesn't have that

Yes, but what part of "without using a custom ROM." I said differently? Also, changing to a bigger SD card is not an option either. Link2SD also can't move system apps, unless I make them "installed" apps using Titanium Backup.

This seems to be a problem with the stock rom. I've used an assortment of custom roms and never ran out of internal space.
Try amarullz script

Too little space to install apps, how to solve this?

Hey guys.
I have a Tab 7", rooted, which has 8 GB of internal storage.
I have an SD card but I'm a bit at a miss on how to install the apps completely on the card.
I see I have 2.15 GB for System ROM (with 191 MB free) and 5.06 GB (2.90 GB free) for the Internal+Media partition.
Apps are installed on System ROM or Internal+Media? I assume it's System ROM, since the OS has been denying to install very small applications.
So, my question is how can I get more space to install apps?
Any way to install an app directly to the SD Card? Maybe the only choice it to repartition?
Thanks!
Hi,
Normally you cannot install anything in 'system' (but since you have root you can move apks to system). Apps get installed to a partition called /data/ on the internal memory. If you have more than 2gb free and you cannot install apps it means there is something wrong. Repartitioning is very dangerous. Its very easy to brick you device doing that. Have you patched/cracked apps?
i'll probably get kicked out o this forum but, you can try a system cleaner. I was running out of space on my tab two and dumped a ton of space that way. If you have root you can remove a bunch of space hogging crap that you don't use.

Hi what I meant is the system to read my sdcard as my internal memory. By modifying vold.fstab
I wouldnt recommend that but its possible.
The reason i dont recommend it is because what if your sd cadd stops functioning
