Is there any app that allows to connect two oneplus phones (2 android phones in general) and share/control screen similar to TeamViewer but WITHOUT internet connection? Just directly?

Hi everyone,
I have written an app similar to Gmote, but it uses UDP broadcasting on the Wifi to find its server, so connecting is easier. This works fine when I am at home and both my phone and my computer/laptop are connected to my Wifi at home.
However, I was wondering, if this would also work anywhere else, when there is no router (on holidays, parties, etc.). My HTC Desire Z has the HTC-specific Wifi-Hotspot-App, that allows my laptop to access my phone's 3G-connection (which works fine) and the Wifi-Hotspot can even be activated when there is no 3G activated/available. I can ping each of the devices and when I connect another Android-device to this Wifi, I am able to connect to the laptop.
So: UDP-broadcasting and TCP-connects work on this Wifi-Hotspot the same way it works at home, when I use my laptop and a different Android-device. This involves 3 devices in total.
But: I want to UDP-broadcast and connect from my Desire Z, which is the hotspot at the same time (only 2 devices involved). And this doesn't work, as it throws an "Network unreachable"-Exception when trying to UDP-broadcast anything using MulticastSocket.send().
Do you know how I can connect from my phone to my laptop, which is connected to my phone's Wifi-Hotspot? Does it work with your devices?
I appreciate any tips.
Thank you,
Philipp
Hi!
The nexus 4 allows me to share the Cellular data connection with my pc by USB passthrough.
I use a Broadband LAN connection on my Desktop (wifi or connectify is not an option). I would like to share my desktops internet with the Nexus 4 via USB.
How do I do this? I know HTC Sync has the option. Is there any way to do this?
Also, like HTC Sync and Nokia PC Suite,
is there any pc client software for the Nexus?
Thanks
No client software for the Nexus since Android (well Google) is a "cloud" company. Everything syncs with the cloud rather than locally with your PC. Don't know of an option to share the PCs LAN with the Nexus via USB so you might be out of luck there.
I know what you ask for, I used to do that with my BB.
I really don't think it's possible, maybe buying those Wi-Fi adapters to your desktop (if you don't want a router, as you advised is not an option)

Check out this one. This should work. I used this for my previous phone when I had very limited data plan. As long as I remember this is not phone specific so shld work on N4 too,
Check out play store. there are some app which I never checked.

But I am sure you will find some option after some research.
Hello everybody,
does anyone know if there is a way to share internet between 2 different android devices via usb?
The one android device has internet via a strong wifi antenna (from a hotspot from my isp where you have to log-in via a http-page)
The other android device I want to use to set up a wifi "router" for my other devices in the house.
So there has to be a connection between the two via usb (or bluetooth but i prefer usb)
I added an image to make it more clear (i hope )
I've seen this question come around a couple of times (aspecially for my isp) as this "http-logon-hotspot" signal can't simply be "repeated" with a normal repeater.

i never heard 2 different android devices can share internet via usb,but set up a wifi "router" can do that.
Also, maybe you can invent such a usb in the future!
does not cause
I am wondering how I can reverse USB tether on my samsung s4 from my laptop? I am looking to do this for the best screensharing(laptop to android) speeds. I see usb tether is an option in the phone settings but I can't figure out how to get this to work and connect to my laptop. I figure by doing this I won't have to worry about lag when I stream my PC to my phone over splashtop. I am on stock rooted NAE 4.2.2.
Search for app called reverse tethering and install it to your laptop then connect your rooted android phone to the laptop and start the app from your laptop and follow pop up messages on your phone then you can connect to the Internet from your mobile phone.
I used this app before more than year and the app didn't support connecting to Google Play market but i could connect to other Internet resources.
im not sure about splashtop since i tried it once and didn't like how you needed a client on the desktop. if you're lagging it's most likely the wifi connection. IMO you should be connected using at least wireless N at minimum.
have a look at X2 client. it's completely free, no bloat and does not require a desktop client. it is true RDP. only thing is you won't be able to use windows once you login as you're in total control over the pc remotely.

Hi
I got my s8 two days ago and I have a weird problem with the device. I'm trying to use the wifi hotspot but some devices can not connect to the network.
My old android phone and some other phones and laptops can use the connection but I busted my ass to connect my macbook pro to the hotspot but it's not possoble.
The network is visible but when I click on it to connect, it says "Move closer to the router" in mac and the connection is limited on windows. Some other devices can connect and use the network but that damn macbook is my primary device.
I'm out of ideas... can anybody please help?
Should I return the phone and get another one?
Anybody?!
