IMEI invalid is FIXED! - OnePlus 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

they have apparently fixed the invalid IMEI number issue with the OnePlus website when trying to submit your unlock code to get your unlock token for the TMobile OnePlus 8 5G. Me and someone else have successfully submitted as of this morning!

Now however, I continue to get an invalid unlock code because it is not 64 digits. Can anyone help on this part of the unlocking of the bootloader process?

make sure when you type fastboot oem get_unlock_code you highlight all the digits after bootloader then press CTRL C to copy it to clipboard, place it into a .txt document and remove the space and then copy and paste it to the form on the OnePlus site

Enter Unlock Code on USA Tmobile Tab with No Dialer?

I go the official unlock code and directions from Tmobile, but they assume in the directions that you have a dialer... does that mean I have to hack my Galaxy Tab just to enter in an unlock code...ideas???
Here's the Tmobile USA unlock directions:
"It is very important that the instructions are followed as listed.
If using a T-mobile SIM card:
1. Put in a T-Mobile SIM card.
2. Turn on the handset.
3. Enter: #7465625*638*Unlock Code#
If using a Non T-Mobile SIM card:
1. Put in the Non T-Mobile SIM card.
2. Turn on the handset.
3. Enter the Unlock Code provided by T-Mobile.
Note: DO Not enter #7465625*638*unlock code# with a non T-Mobile SIM card, as this causes the handset to freeze.
If you receive an error message while performing the instructions do not make any further attempts to unlock the handset. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked."
The easiest thing for you to do, lucky one, is to get a SIM card from another provider and unlock.
How did you get your unlock code so fast? What did you do? What did you say? Please advice. Thank you.

I called Tmobile and told them I was traveling and needed asap... they sent it over via email... I followed your directions and it asked me for the unlock code, I entered it correctly and it didn't work. I got a message saying "unsuccessful". I did this process 3 times and gave up. Any ideas?

It's weird that it doesn't work and now they want me to talk to the "unlock department".....everytime I get someone from Tmobile support, they think the Tab has a phone/dialer in it...it's almost getting painful!

[Guide] Temp Sim Unlock SGH-S970G & SM-S975L TracFone GS4

Good Day,
The instructions below will ONLY work if you have purchased an unlock code from a third party vendor or "IF" you obtained in directly from TracFone (Haven't no success on this). Below I will also include links to websites I have been informed that provide the unlock code. **I have not tested none of those services yet as I already had my unlock code.**
"ROOT IS REQUIRED" - Don't know how? search for geohot's: https://towelroot.com/ towelroot app, install and root. Install SuperSU from market and you are now rooted.
So these are the instructions:
1. Install Phone Info Tools from market
2. Install, open and allow root access
3. Press Menu key and select Secret Codes...
4. Let it populate the list
5. Scroll until you find 7465625*638*(you will see two)
6. First Tap the one that says "Perso<android_perso_lock_code>" followed by Launch 0
7. On the MCC/MNC enter your carriers "NEW SIM" corresponding MCC/MNC code, On Control Key enter code you have. Press "OK"
8. Second Tap the one that says "Perso<android_perso_unlock_code>" followed by Launch 0
9. Enter Code you have and press "OK"
10. Phone should be unlocked now.
11. When reboot or turn on, follow steps 1-10 every time.
12. Thank Me.
Third party unlock services I have received feedback that they do provide an unlock code are:
www.movical.net
**Make sure you select the "Made in China" option to get the right code.
Disclaimer: The above should not brick or damage your phone in no way. If something does happens, however I will not be held responsible. The above WILL VOID your Warranty.
Hi. I have the StraightTalk s975l, and Straight Talk's tech people just told me that this phone cannot be unlocked. I don't believe them. Can you confirm that this method does work on the Straight Talk model S975L, maybe someone who followed the above instructions? If I follow this guide, will I be able to move my phone to AT&T? I'm sure you know what you're doing, and even more sure that I don't, but I just want to be sure before I pay for an unlock code.
It will work, but it's only temporary. You need to retype the unlock code every time you restart the device.

This phone can be unlocked with the a code. 98% of times tracfone's tech support don't know anything and just read what a script says. I have one and been using one for over 5 months. Just that the code needs to be entered every time the phone turns on.

How to unlock the honor 5X bootloader

I just confirmed this is working with a retail unit of honor 5X - US model (KIW-L24)
Visit the EMUI global site - http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=list
Click Unlock Bootloader
Sign in to Huawei ID
Accept the unlocking agreement
Enter device information and click Submit
Get code and enjoy
If you experience any error, please use the contact us link on the page.
Please read the full Unlocking Agreement:
"Thank you for supporting Huawei Device products. Huawei Device has granted bootloader unlocking permission for its latest mobile phones, tablets and official firmware. Unlocking the bootloader enables you to flash third-party firmware to your device.
However, unlocking the bootloader carries the following risks:
1.Huawei ensures that product hardware and software are optimized for your device, but after you unlock the bootloader, Huawei cannot guarantee optimum performance or that all functions will operate normally.
2.Most third-party firmware has not been adequately tested and has poor compatibility with Huawei devices, which will affect your device’s stability or even cause damage to your device’s hardware. For example, some firmware may result in excessive power consumption that reduces your device’s standby time and battery lifespan, or the RF performance of your device may be impaired, which may lead to network search failure or poor call quality. Some firmware may even prevent your device from starting and you will not be able to restore the system, meaning that your device will be rendered unusable.
3.Third-party firmware may be vulnerable to malicious software attacks. For this reason, data security cannot be guaranteed. For example, your personal data such as contacts, messages, and location data may be disclosed. Malicious software may also send SMS messages to subscribe to paid services or make calls in the background, incurring inadvertent charges. Malicious software may even be used by others to monitor your device.
4.Some functions will no longer work after you unlock the bootloader. For example, you will no longer be able to use Digital Rights Management (DRM) keys and digital content that you have purchased. Upgrading software using Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) or a microSD card may fail or your device may not function properly after upgrading.
Unlocking the bootloader may result in unpredictable consequences for your device, including but not limited to those listed above. The user shall be held responsible in the event that the device malfunctions and cannot be recovered. Huawei will record your unlock request information; for software and hardware failures arising as a result of unlocking the bootloader, Huawei repair centers can provide repair services charged at the standard rate for repair work outside the scope of the warranty."

Every time I have logged into the Huawei site, things look slightly different. I assume they are updating things. However, I cannot get to the unlock agreement. I visit the link to the EMUI global site, I click unlock the bootloader, then it no longer asks for my ID. Instead it comes up with a "Create Nickname" page. No matter what I enter, it says "HWLOGIN_NICKERROR". Hopefully someone else has run into this and can redirect me to the right location.
Thanks in advance!

Everything was in English for me. Maybe use Google translate?
I just click the link in OP and I go straight to page in English. Click unlock bootloader.
Then Log in next screen (or register with email if you haven't already). Do the unlock bootloader agreement.
Then complete form where you put S/N IMEI and more. Good luck
I keep getting this error screen after logging in once I press the unlock boot loader link. I have tried on multiple devices, browsers all the same thing. I made sure to select English as language as well.
Any ideas?

I get the same thing. Ran Chrome Google Translate on it, but it's just a server message about being busy.
@wimbet can you provide any info on this or maybe give us a rough ETA of when the server will be available so we can unlock our devices? Thanks.
Click on Unlock Bootloader and takes me to login page. Username and password don't work. Try to retrieve password and get " No security email address, phone number, or question has been set." I can login into the honor 5x club site just fine. Try to re-register and it says my email address is already in use, but I can't get access. Very odd.
Still having the same issue here.
Seems like their website may have been down for 2+ days now. That really makes me want to unlock the bootloader and get the hell out of their software ecosystem that much quicker.

I had the same problem. Website would switch back to Chinese, and when I tried to go back to English I got the home screen or server busy (in Chinese). I finally just let it stay in Chinese and matched the fields with the English screen shot in the TWRP thread and I got through it and got the code. Have another problem with my phone's boot loader but that's for another thread.

You have to put your device in bootloader mode (switch it off, plug it to your computer, and press Power + Volume down at the same time). Once you're in DL mode, enter the command "fastoot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxx" xxxx = your code.
Before you do this, enable "OEM unlocking" in Developer options.

No by following that process you will have an unlocked bootloader enabling you to install custom recovery and then root. Follow this thread and the instructions for unlocking your bootloader, installing TWRP, and then rooting your phone. OEM unlocking Device Pin?

I found OEM unlocking in the developer options and it requires a device pin. Anyone know what this is or how I can get it?
Is this a Sprint model? Or who's SIM did you stick into there?
It might be "locked" when you register it with a carrier which is why I always OEM unlock it before I do anything else with a new device. You might have to call the carrier to see if they can supply said Pin in this case.
Device pin would be the pin you setup on your lockscreen. Unlocking the bootloader adds a security risk, that's why it asks for it.
When I got the ph1 I just took my old Verizon Sim card and used it.

That OEM unlocking is for unlocking your bootloader. Any PIN it asks for would be the PIN you created when you set up the device - your unlock code.

Finally was able to enable oem unlocking with device pin. Not sure why it wouldn't accept it originally but after a shutdown and restarted the phone it accepted the pin and kept oem unlocking enabled.
